We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped in Calitzdorp for lunch. The very first place we spotted was Giovanni's and as both my husband and I love Italian food, we decided to lunch there. Beautiful views of the farm and dams while we dined on delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. My husband opted for a pizza while I chose a pasta and both were to die for. The hosts were so friendly and Giovanni himself came to check that the meal was to our satisfaction. Definitely worth the stop and definitely make it a leisurely one.
A small, unassuming and friendly place on the outskirts of Calitzdorp. Stopped here for takeaways on a road trip (which we've been tempted to do before but always miss opening hours). Since we didn't dine in, I can't comment on the full menu but the pizzas were delicious and we could wait outside on the deck with an amazing view of the mountains behind Calitzdorp. Opening hours are until 4pm but you can phone ahead for takeaways until 6pm, which is great to know. Delightful receptionist who greeted us and took our order. Highly recommended.
What a little gem run by a very friendly couple. It's definitely worth making this stop. Food is authentic and is served extremely quickly, which makes it the perfect road trip stop. We will be back!!

Situated right on the main road in Carlitzdorp. Best authentic Italian pizzas. Giovanni and Wendy are great hosts and lovely people to chat to. In the words of the Great Arnold Schwarzenegger, "we'll be back"
I like it! Authentic Italian with a day to day menu. View is truly amazing and the host is really friendly and welcoming. Food is awesome, which is probably the most important. I have to add that the menu is limited in options as it changes almost daily. It's not really a family spot but can accommodate a small family, and indeed the host will. I would rate this more as a must see stop for couples as a romantic stopover. Really beautiful.
What a delight to find en route! a gem hidden in the country. Delicious authentic Italian cooking and the warmest hosts! Impeccable standards! The view from the patio is perfect!
Wonderful, owner run italian restaurant, simple menu of recipes created daily by Giovanni, simple flavours, but deliciously authentic. Tagliatelle al ragu, followed by semi freddo, just delicious. They are not licensed so BYO.
A beautiful spot that is a welcome escape from heat of the Klein Karoo.
