A cute,
little hideaway in Bryanston, which is situated inside a Garden Shop, so you can enjoy a view of fresh flowers, instead of the usual Joburg parking lot. Great coffee and free wifi. Good, attentive service. I ordered a toasted sandwich which came quickly, tasted great, and was served with a generous portion of hot chips.
On this rather cloudy winter's morning, I met a friend at this cafe for brunch.
We were brave to have selected an outside seating, the only one of 2 tables.
The waitress came through and took our beverage order and I had my usual cuppa of cappuccino while my friend had a coffee with cold milk. The beverages were brought through in short order.
Since my friend has been here many times, I decided to follow his lead and we both ordered the Breakfast pizzette (which incidentally on a slight tangent, the menu listed on Zomato is not the latest).
Our breakfast pizette arrived after a while and it looked scrumptious. As I was ravenous, I dived straight in. The pizza dough was thin and crispy, just the way I like it, scrambled eggs not too overly done and nicely seasoned, the bacon and mushrooms were perfectly cooked and all binded with lots of stringy mozzarella cheese.
I was extremely happy with the dish and as much as I wanted to gorge myself, I held back and had half and took the remaining half in a takeaway box.
Service was courteous and prompt, the setting in a garden was absolutely lovely.
I most certainly would love to remain and sample the other items on their menu!
My hidden little gem of a place! Situated in the midst of a nursery, this place never disappoints. From fresh food to friendly top quality service in a relaxing environment. You cannot ask for any more...
I enjoy visiting Munch Café. It has good food and efficient service. My brother loves having pancakes and scrambled eggs. There are 3 playgrounds nearby and my favorite meal is the Greco pizza and club sandwich(note that this is a special and only served on weekends). I have discovered that the restaurant has added a wide selection of new dishes as well and have updated the menu! I definitely would recommend this place.
Great venue! I love having breakfast in the middle of the nursery. The coffee is delicious and the food is great for simple breakfasts. Service is a bit slow but it’s good for a lazy Sunday morning.
Fabulous hideaway spot in Bryanston just off Main road at the Garden Shop.
Its outdoors and have a great vibe. Service is fast and friendly.
The Vanilla Coffe as well as the Freezo counterpart are firm favourites. The cappuccino with cream isalso great as it is real cream.
Try the French Toast for a yummy and filling breakfast. It comes with Mascarpone and berries and you can add some bacon for a decadent sweet and savoury taste.
Excellent service and perfect location for a lazy weekend lunch on a sunny day among the glorious gardens of the garden shop. The menu is hearty and enticing. Have the mushroom burger. Yum!
I'd had a poor experience at another branch of this restaurant and was a bit apprehensive when I was invited here for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised, this branch is much lovelier! The children's play area is enormous and they made sure to keep everything safe (the ponds all have netting etc) The toddlers had a fabulous time playing here and we enjoyed a good breakfast. We tried their apple and cinnamon muffins straight out the oven and they were delicious!
I went to the Munch cafe in the lovely setting of the garden shop nursery to meet a bunch of 10 ladies with their kids for a late Saturday brunch. The table has been booked well in advance, however the table was not ready or set prior to our arrival. After placing a few drinks orders that we waited for and never arrived we had a word with the manager and wow did they turn around this poor start. Drinks arrived timeously and were delicious (try their chai latte)! Our food was delicious, however dis arrive in stages - in fact a few plates were finished and cleared before the last meal arrived - which is my pet hate as a diner. I had a toasted bacon, feta and about Sandwhich at R50 which was reasonable and tasty. Overall, it was a lovely meal and day out in the sun.
My best Garden Shop for lunch, so much for the kids to see and do, Hedgehog Lane is a fab and the play area and jungle gym is fab. Love the Reptile shop too! The salmon and tuna salads are great
