Just the best Spur in my opinion.The staff is amazing and the food really wow.had n problem with Spur due to one we went to in Pretoria, haven't been to n spur for 5 years, until the one in carnival city opened. A friend took me there and needles to say, I changed my opinion about Spur and it is now my favourite place to have a meal, or a snack...or just a milkshake.thanks Spur Carnival City.keep it up.

Today its a pleasure for me to do an update on my previous review from the 25th.
I was contacted after my review through Clement from Spur. He was extremely nice and asked me about my experience of this afternoon which I did give feedback on. Afterward he apologized and graciously invited me and my wife for a meal on him.
Went there today and got seated firstly before letting anyone know I was invited.
Shortly afterwards I saw clement and he took us to a nice space he personally reserved for us. He introduced himself and we had a short nice chat.
Shortly afterwards the waiter came to take our starter order which was “buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers” was delicious. We had a drink each I had a nice cold beer and my wife a juice.
Before our starter we met more of the spur management team and we briefly engaged in discussion which I really did enjoy.
I took a cheddamelt rib burger with some pepper sauce and my wife had the chease & bacon rib burger.This all was also delicious unfortunately we couldn’t finish our meal as we were quite full at this stage. Took our leftovers as a takeaway and enjoyed an appletizer each with our meal.
We were still offered a dessert which would’ve been great if we were not already so full, but in overall this was a satisfied outing me and my wife enjoyed. We were not just only treated as VIPs we were treated as friends and family.
I can testify that tonight was the best service I ever received till date from a restaurant.
Clement, you and your team at Thunder Eagle spur over exceeded our expectations and we will definitely drop in again from time to time to enjoy the company of your staff and the meals you make and will happily be returning customers.

I am not usually a fan of Spur but I was pleasantly surprised. The first night we had a nacho starter and burgers. The second day we went for a quick drink and our waiter from the previous night recognised us immediately and already got our drinks. He was chatty and extremely friendly. The food was delicious and so filling!
We went to this Spur on a Saturday night to celebrate a family birthday. It was packed to the rafters with customers. Every nook and cranny seemed filled with people all celebrating a birthday. The staff seemed to spend the whole time bringing out ice-cream and sparklers and singing happy birthday.
There were kids running around everywhere, balloons and face painting in abundance.
The place was a mad house. Difficult to review in more detail cause of all the noise, people and kids drowning out ones senses.
Despite this our service was surprisingly satisfactory. The wait for our food acceptable and the presentation and quality of the food was great.
Very typical Spur in every way. Our large table of guests all seemed to enjoy the food and the evening despite grandkids running amok. My garlic fillet was a touch under done but tasty and yummy.
A pleasant evening was had by all.
Had to give the new spur a try for their famous breakfast deal. I must say it's a huge premises where the old lotta foods were. Parents will love that's there is a play area inside and enclosed within the restaurant. The food was standard and the staff were friendly. They did take an extremely long time to get the basic brekkie out to us and the place was relatively empty
Took my family for lunch- the waiter Bayethes service was excellent. The managers are very attentive and friendly. The speed of service, the friendliness, everything was perfect one of the best Spur experiences I have ever had.
Took my family here for my youngest daughter's birthday along with a few of her friends. We did originally not intend to do so but after the arcade games everyone was famished. Best decision ever as our waiter went over and above what we expected. Took our orders from memory and got it right, food was great and the play area really looked after our birthday crew fantastically. The price was not the cheapest but considering you can really let your hair down and just enjoy the excursion makes it fabulously worth the spend. Definitely recommend.

I had 2 bad experiences during a breakfast service and decided not to return, I brought it to managers attention (Focus) and he tried to rectify the situation and pleaded to give them another chance. About a month later I decided to see if things changed and returned with my family, before I could walk in Focus noticed me and took us straight to a table where he personally took our orders and assigned us an amazing well composed and well mannered waitress name Tinique. The order was correct, the food was amazing and came out hot which is what we were normally used to. I noticed that Focus was between tables and the kitchen ensuring that the dishes that came out had met the Spur standard. I appreciated the fact that he remembered my previous experience and took it upon himself to ensure that the night was nothing short of amazing. Such managerial skills are rare to find, he could have simply came to us to check if things were ok and let the waiter do the rest of the job, however he went above my expectations in taking charge of the situation and played multiple roles to keep us happy. I commend him on that and because of that effort that he put in , we will return. I trust that the owner of the establishment recognizes such talent and effort put in by SOME of their staff members. Focus is a manager that should be an example to the others in how to handle situations instead of the universal answer "I'm sorry about that".
Ntokozo Mathunjwa gave us excellent service. Calm and relaxed at all times, smilling, checking on us time and again. My daughter even complimented him for making her birthday super special.
Every month I come to Carnival to take my kids and they love Spur so much, I’ve had the best service ever.
Today though was the worst, it was my daughters birthday and I told our waiter Barbah but she never initiated that they sing for her and my 6 year old girl told her that she’s happy it’s her birthday, ended up leaving Spur and she wasn’t happy asking why they never sing for her and honestly I would say because she neglected us most of the time never cared to ask if we still fine or need something else😞
Food is always great at any spur!! Service here was a bit slow, but I was not in a hurry. The view is cool from the seating close to the casino area. I see lots of Indians in Carnival City so I would like to suggest that Spur offer more lamb meals as most Hindus don’t eat beef. In Durban most Spurs offer a few more lamb dishes. Also consider a 200g lamb chop dish because often I’m not that hungry but would like to eat at Spur.
Can I just say AMAZING!! the food was just great!! loved the recommendations by our waitress Amanda 2 ❤️ her service was just great, an amazing soul she is. Annnd Uncle Chris!! 🙌🏽 the best asset for this place. I was just happy about everything from the welcome to being seated. The drinks, the food and the singing!! Hey! It was my Cuz’s birthday they just made it a special day for her 🤌🏾
Always love going to this spur. The breakfast is proper value for money, along with my standard Cappuccino with cream. Staff are fantastic. Always service with a smile, especially Bayethe and Thandiwe. Always a pleasure seeing them. Keep it up Spur 👍🏻
The food did not taste good, it was not up to standard compared to other spurs. Even when we have the loyalty card which allows the kid's first drinks to be free, they made us pay for my 2 babies, 3 & 4 years old. Other spurs don't do that, even after we loaded they kids on the card which has never been a requirement, they still made us pay for the 2 kiddies drinks! We had a bad experience and will never go to the carnival city spur again!
