Spent Valentines night in the new and revamped Madeira and have to say that the food was more than just incredible, music was great and the staff were attentive and friendly as usual. A Thought we’d give this little restaurant a try as it has been around for many years .
It is quite quaint , nothing really fancy .. it has a tavern look , plain and simple ...

The service was really good. Everyone super friendly .

Unfortunately the espetada was not cooked to my taste, wanted medium and received rare.. but did not complain and continued to enjoy .

The prawns were perfectly cooked and unbelievably amazing !! Wow
Definitely go back .

Been a regular at Maderia for years and the food has been recently the best ever. The peri peri chicken is delicious and calamari great. However the ribs have now become been a recent favourite. Yup the decor is seriously bland and needs some "warming up" but otherwise great food. The service is fine, and if your waitress is Rachel then expect great service.

Madeira is firmly one of my favourite restaurants. The decor is bland, the service is questionable, even the preparation of food leaves a lot to be desired for but STONE ME, the marinade that lathers their steaks is worth leaving your wife for. This restaurant has the most potential of any restaurant in Cape Town.
It needs a face lift and perhaps a chef worthy of that godly marinade.

Invisable CT

Finally decide to try Madeira yesterday and boy were we glad.We did a take away, R185 for a 1kg spare ribs which just falls off the bone accompanied by the best authentic Portuguese styled chips.Also had their calamari strips the seasoning in the batter is really unique, will be back soon and hopefully dining in this time.

Dated feel but lively bar with good service when we got there late on a Friday evening. We were a large group of around 12. My trinchado starter was divine, tender and tasty, and they make a good salad. My partners Espetada was just as nice and tender. Service was very good being a large table and just one waiter.. Cheap and cheerful.
