Quick one- I ordered sugar beans bunnies this week. you did not disappoint. Best veg bunny I have eaten in years! Spicy, delicious, a real nose runner. Loved it! Keep it up!
Good home cooked indian food. Fresh and flavourful. On quiet days or very busy days main curries may not be available. Well priced and proper South African Indian menu. Eat in option is not ideal as slightly small inside. But great for take aways.
I've never suffered a lot down food is alwyays good. I pray always freshly prepared and not microwaved. Good oprtion size, reasonable prices. I can't descrive the food as "the best curry I've ever had. Its a decent meal at a decent price. Value for money.but not mindblowing.
What is off putting is the strange layout of the restuarant and the staff could be more hopitable and friendly.
When Goudens only were in benoni cbd the food was more vibrant and exciting
Standards are still good but perhaps a little bit of stagnation?
I would love to see restaurant beautifully decorated with modern twist, vibrant food and inviting ambiance
This review is for the Gounden's Restaurant in Edenvale. Went through quite late last night around 19:00, food was prepared fresh and tasted delicious. Had a mutton bunny and sugar beans with trotters bunny, was totally yum! In my humble opinion, best bunny chows and curries in Johannesburg! Keep up the excellence guys...I'll be back!
Very chill and clean even though the shop is small they made everything fit well with some chair outside for good breeze and is in northmead town hard to miss with big board out..seems to be a very busy store as well so call for your order if you at work and don’t have time to seat and dine in.. we just forgot to check the plastic bag before leaving that we had less spoons 😂 but all in all they very lovely people easy to talk to
It's taken me a while to find proper authentic Indian cuisine...Goundens is certainly top of the list!!!

The food is absolutely fantastic. The store needs a revamp. The shop fittings need a revamp and less cluttered. But the service and food 100%
Awesome, I visited the Edenvale branch today for the first time. Tried out the mutton bunny, and must say it was sumptuous. Thanks to the chef, the aunty was correct, I will come back cos of her amazing cooking. To the owner, keep up this standard you are going to do well, please says thanks to the chef, I will return
The chicken breyani was delicious with many chicken pieces. The roti was also excellent. Full of rich flavor. I really enjoyed it. The Lamb samosas were also good but on the small side. Overall the food was excellent.
Honestly speaking, this places curry is the best!!! I LOVE this place. Just wish we could get a little more. This is a great place to buy, and I would recommend it to anyone who asks.

Great place for indian food!
The food is a beautiful array of colours and flavours which dance in your mouth. Friendly staff and attentive manager make this a great choice for an evening out or a takeaway favorite. Indoor seating is available but is quite tight and there isn't any space for a wheelchair, there is however outdoor seating.
The food caters to different diets and one can ask for certain changes.
This establishment does takeaways and is extremely convenient for a quick meal although parking is limited.
Verry good Indian food with authentic Indian flavor. Absolutely the best food for these cold winter days and nights. We are ordering from Goudens for over 9 years and still enjoying the food.
