Food was very good however the service is poor and the atmosphere medioker no music or anything to create an atmosphere.

My wife always orders garlic Naan bread here when she makes butter chicken, and I must say the Naan bread are delicious, the owner or person working at the till is the most welcoming and friendly and competent person I've ever met in the restaurant industry, keep it up. Thanks

Wonderful to find a restaurant that caters for vegans. They can veganise everything on the vegetarian menu. The service is excellent, will definitely go back to try the beyond burger.

I would have loved to hear Indian back round music instead of mixed hip hop types.

Great atmosphere and great food. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It's not a place to have a quick meal, but a wonderful place to get together with friends or family and talk and be merry. I had the butter chicken and it was really good.

We have had many great dinners at this little gem. I highly recommend this place, their food is not only delicious but you can actually taste the passion of cooking in the food. They can also make the whole menu (except for 3 dishes) vegan if that is your thang.. We will continue to eat at Curry Leaf! I think more Benonians should - actually!!!!

Best curry we have had in a long time. Filled with meat and the taste WOW. Garlic naan could have had more garlic in but besides that excellent service friendly staff... Affordable too...
This is most definitely on my top 5 list of places to go and enjoy good food.Β the staff are friendly, and the owners are efficient and on the ball.Β they make their rounds to ask how your meal was and advise on good dishes to try - the flavor's are absolutely delicious!! Love this place :)

Rather disappointing vegetarian menu , majority Paneer options and then a shocker , butter beans .. I had expected to see a lot more vegetarian options like bindi , mushroom , aloo , but were no where to be found ..

Love the ambiance. The samoosas are delicious to start with and you can't go wrong with chicken korma or a bunny chow. Enjoy going there for a laid back Sunday afternoon lunch or weekend dinner.

Friendly staff. Made us feel at home .Very good atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Food was good . I would recommend this to any vegetarian in the mood for home made Indian cuisine

Very relaxed atmosphere. Soft background music. Excellent food and service. We had the lamb masala and the prawn masala - both very tasty with a perfect balance of spice and heat - really delicious. The garlic cheese naan was also very nice. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.πŸ‘πŸ»

I will not eat at this place again.
Chicken bunny is a sham.
Mutton bunny is a shame.
A bunny must have a Durban curry for it to be called a bunny.
This place is taking a chance with bunny chow.
Chilli bites were dough lumps.
Had a lovely little Sunday lunch this Sunday, food never disappoints and is always delicious! Only one waiter so service is a bit slow but he was a great server and was very funny. Very casual dining, simple decor and I loved the new umbrellas hanging from the celling!

Brought my old and deaf parents for Sunday lunch...They are not always the most adventurous eaters...We had a lovely lunch as usual...I always pop in for take aways and everything is always delicious...One of my favourite shops! Xxx

Made a reservation this afternoon to take my fiancΓ© out for dinner at Curry Leaf Indian Cuisine.
We had previously ordered a take away from them before they had made all the structural and decor upgrades to their restaurant.
We were greeted with a smile as the owner opened the door. First class service!!

Our waitress was accompanied by one of the managers to explain the menu and make recommendations of their most popular dishes. Food was delicious and service awesome!!! Definitely going back for more

Was very disappointed. I have only heard good things about this place so we decided to have take outs. Let me start by saying my girlfriend had the chicken korma and she loved it. She said it was one of the best. The staff were fantastic and friendly too. But I had a prawn korma. It's a R100 dish and I got 5 small de shelled prawns in my dish. It was an excuse for a serving. Very upsetting. Everything else was perfect but my serving size has put me off.

Have gone here many a time, very personal reception from the owners, they are so accommodating in many ways, I had special dietary restrictions at one stage which they helped me with 100%. All ingredients are fresh and every dish which I've had has been extremely delicious. If you're looking to eat some Indian cuisine, or looking for a healthy meal without any processed ingredients, I highly recommend The Curry Leaf. This is personally my favourite restaurant in Benoni

It was mid pm on a Saturday. We spotted this joint from the road. It was dead empty. But still decided to eat here since we felt like a curry.

The waiter was a bit quiet and shy but was super friendly. We ordered samoosas for starters. They were served with tomato sauce. That was a bit odd. We then ordered a chicken palak (spinach) and garlic naan. We smashed the first naan and had to order another. The food wasn't very spicy but the waiter explained that people have complained that the food was too spicy.

Overall the food was good enough, almost like home cooking. I'll be back!

I gave curry leaf a 3. Its neither great nor terrible.

The dishes are average in both taste and presentation

With some effort, they could improve.

We have been eating at the Curry Leaf since they opened and the food is awesome. All of our friends love it too. We often have curry evenings and have tried many different dishes from the menu. I would recommend it to anyone. Having it tonight......yum.

Now this is a real hidden gem of a restaurant. Family run with the charm one expects, great vibe and authentic food. Will ( and have) returned many times.

Excellent bunny chow , has a very unique design and the shop is located in a secluded corner which makes is cozy. Service is excellent and welcoming

Curry leaf lives up to its name. The food is full of leaves. Went to this place quite a while back. My bunny wasnt too bad except for the excessive leaves in the food. The decor is a bit OTT for my liking and service was a bit slow.

Quite a surprise. Visited following a referral by a friend. Somewhat secluded, however seemed reasonably popular when considering the feet through the door for take-aways as well as eat-in. Caters for vegetarians. Our food was excellent, however portions could be slightly bigger for the price range. The service was most impressive, and we were served by the most polite waiter I've ever encountered, which made a world of difference.

Curry Leaf is a warm, cosy restaurant but still somewhat sophisticated. It's family run, modestly priced, with tasty innovative food. It's also much closer to "Indian home cooked food", which is tasty, as opposed to the generic north Indian restaurants.

Easily the finest Indian restaurant in the East Rand, and arguably the best in the Johannesburg, Curry Leaf is located in the Cocoa Bean Centre off Snake Road, near East Rand Mall. This restaurant has been consistently good for some years, and recently has gotten even better. Prices are relatively modest, especially given the quality. The lamb and seafood dishes is an exceptional bargain.

I am quite a health conscious person and I love the fact, that the curries aren't oily and the meat pieces are all de-boned without fat. On my last visit, I was quite impressed by the fact that the papadoms aren't fried, but roasted, unlike other Indian restaurants. I believe, that it's "those" small things and the service that makes a huge difference.

As for the service, on my last occasions to the Curry Leaf, they were fully booked and quite busy. I was very happy with my service - under those circumstance, as my waiter still made time to see to my boyfriend and I regularly, while juggling many tables. The owners and waiters are very friendly and welcoming.

I will DEFINITELY BE back soon with my boyfriend and family.

Thank you.

Very nice setting. Really a nice place. A bit hidden away. Sweet Lassi can be better

I feel obliged to warn fellow customers away from the Curry Leaf.

I ordered a take-away Butter Chicken with a Garlic and Cheese Naan and Lamb Roti Roll. The Butter Chicken besides only filling half of the container (the usual sized plastic/tin container) was incredibly oily, contained several large chunks of hard raw herbs and actually tasted almost identical to the Lamb Roti Roll. Disgusting!

Take my advice and stay away! YUCK!

I have been to almost every curry restaurant/den in South Africa that are considered to be the top curry joints and none of them can beat curry leaf.

The food is exceptional, the service is great, and the owners want to make sure that every dish is the best curry anybody has ever eaten with a big focus on quality and flavor.

I have been going for 2.5 years now and have never had a bad experience.

Warning, this is not a commercial curry joint like so many of them out there are, if you ask for hot you will get hot, and it takes a brave person to ask for extra hot, what I love about them is that there is no compromise on flavor when asking for hotter.

Go and try it, you wont be disappointed.

Dave.

Love it, Love it, Love it......
Have been to this Restaurant so many times because the food is so yummy.
We love the atmosphere and whole dining experience too.
Jackie, Aasha and staff are so friendly & welcoming, and always helpful in assisting us choose some of the many delicious choices of starters and mains that they have on the menu.
Importantly, they keep this quality up. It's always good....

Visited this very unique restaurant last night. A real gem hidden in Benoni. Food was fresh and full of flavour. Will definitely recommend this place!!

This very basic & rudimentary restaurant is unequivocally the worst experience I have ever had in my entire 50 years of eating out at restaurants. A total disaster.

If you want to die.... Eat at the Curry Leave. You ask for mild food and you get fresh hole chillies in mild food. What the hell.... Shame in you. The physical pain is unreal.

This little curry hub has got to be one of the best and most distinct place I've gotten meals at. Its clean, different yet authentic, healthy and perfectly spiced food will definitely keep me going back for more! Try it out, it's worth the drive.
