Review Baconville - Bellville

Usually the service is great, but this most recent time it was quite poor, but it was probably a fluke. The staff are always friendly and the food always arrives fast. My mom enjoyed hers a lot and my breakfast bagel sandwich was mostly good, but coming from someone who eats them in the US, where they were invented, the bagels can't be put a grill, they HAVE to be toasted. The bagel needs to be crispy. Besides that, it was very good.

Went here for lunch, owners were very accommodating and friendly. The decaf cappuccino was delicious! Served in a nice sizeable mug. The food was very tasty, especially the pasta dish. (Was not on the menu). Good spot for people watching. Thanks!

My girlfriend and I ended the year on a high with some great food at Baconville. As a pork lover I enjoyed my Pork Belly Bun with Choc chip and Mint Milkshake. The cherry on top was the great service from Ryan,what an awesome bloke.

We had a delicious lunch at Baconville today... tried a few new meals off their menu and we were actually surprised at how good they were. Even the gourmet Salted Caramel Milkshake topped with bacon was a hit.

Definitely enjoyed the food that they had to offer. Plus, I would be remiss, if I didn't mention that the place is aptly named; the bacon added a great flair to each meal

Absolutely a pleasure to eat there. Menu is interesting, waiter professional and attentive. He recommended the pork belly burger - hands down one of the better burgers I've had, and without a doubt the best in Durbanville. Shoestring fries and bacon mayonnaise were both delicious. Highly recommend you giving them a try if your are inclined to some delicious pork.

Thankfully the owner greeted us as I was looking at the different restaurants at Willowbridge. So glad the food is wonderful, a bowl of bacon is literally a bowl of bacon. Huge cappuccinos and the service was attentive. Family considerations: Didn’t look to see if there is a kids menu. There is a playground right in the square of restaurants that Baconville is located. Lots of foot traffic so be mindful.

Such a cool restaurant with a hilarious menu! Guaranteed smile on your face. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The staff was also very friendly! Lovely experience.

Food is full of flavor and delicious. The Harvey sandwich was a bit of al let down as I expected a “bigger more bold” sandwich but none the less it was full of unexpected flavor! Breakfast was a much bigger serving and I was grateful that we shared. Could do with some flavored coffee as well but overall a pleasant experience

Located in the Willowbridge Mall, good size cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. All dishes (most) come with bacon! Excellent menu with some unusual things to try, and also all the classics. The coffee is excellent, on par with some of the best coffee/ roastries in the city. Bacon is lovely and crispy - perfection. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect spot for breakfast or brunch. Can’t wait to go back.

Baconville Willowbrigde really lives up to its name. With great service and even better food. I would recommend their braised pork or their legendary bacon. Looking forward to going back again.

As always the food and service was great. To the few sour grapes out there giving bad ratings, I think you are just trying to score a free meal! At my one visit to the store there was a man full of nonsense about his burger, sending it back a few times when I actually saw nothing wrong, he ate his burger about 3/4 and said its still not right and refused to pay his bill. The manager kept her cool and handled the situation excellently! Keep up the good work :)

So, what an amazing experience... . . Old school hands on owner, such an amazing person... . . Ended up eating the most amazing pulled pork bun!!!!! Brilliant, you have to try it...

I cannot say enough great things about this place. Instant when you walk in, the friendly waiter seated me and I ordered my cappuccino, which was , OMW... delish. Then when my friend arrived we ordered our breakfast and it arrived quickly, fresh, flavourful and just o so yummy. I mean, BACON... holy wow... just sooooo incredible. All bacon lovers will make this their go-to brekkie place! Even none bacon fan will walk out with respect... Just wow... you will be seeing me more!!

Food: 5 stars. I had The Breakfast Club, sourdough avocado loads of bacon, grilled mushrooms and two poached eggs sitting on halloumi. Topped with Taberu Rayu My mouth waters just thinking about it again. Service: 5 Stars On my first and second visit to Baconville The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I mean, almost every dish has bacon. What's not to love? Choose your style of dish and enjoy! The bacon isn't your average bacon - it's delicious!

Had the Nachos Burger and The Jam burger wirh extra bacon. was delicious. There are plenty of alcohol options that was on the menu. Would suggest to add cocktails and even mocktails to make the experience even more awesome. The service was absolutely awesome ane staff very attentive and super accomodating. Prices are really on par with similar establishments but this is definately worth trying. decor is modest and fresh, covid protocols followed and menu has loads of variety including take home items like lasagne and macaroni. All in all I loved it, will we go back with friends and family absolutely. Should you try it... YESSSS... must try in Cape Town

We LOVE Baconville! The food is great, the milkshakes are greater and the staff are absolutely the best. They always remember us and greet us warmly. The manager once came and offered to hold my baby while I ate. Another time I had already bought a meal from the market and my husband wanted to eat at Baconville and not only were they very happy for me to eat my market bought meal, but they offered to put it on a plate and kept it on a warmer till my husband's food was ready. Have not had better service. Thank you :)

The food is delicious, no matter what you order. Their chai latte is wonderful and the staff super friendly. And then there is the bacon.... OMW.... amazing!!!!!

So I love bacon 🥓 as much as the next person, and decided to pop in and try out this new place. Right off the bat the service was excellent!! A more than overeager waiter was falling over his feet to help us almost immediately. He quickly recommended a meal and sold us an extra side order of chips in a jiffy. Then in no time at all whatsoever our food arrived. And that is where the "this is too good to be true" feeling went away rather quickly. The portions are, for lack of a better word, a rip-off for the price you pay. The quality of the food is fair - not outstanding, but just fair. Average even. So, if you are prepared to pay good money for excellent service and average food that comes in bite-sized potions, this would certainly be the place for you. Me? I'd much rather have less service with better food in bigger quantities.

Baconville surprised me. The staff were super friendly. Atmosphere casual and laid back. Ordered an iced coffee (The Brunette - which is an absolute no go ... I was warned about it but figured I’d give it a shot. My waitress was right. lol) Anyway, if you want a good burger, get the Don Draper. Huge. Juicy. Add the Gorgonzola if you’re the type. It’ll be worth it. I’d post a pic, but I devoured my burger long before I thought about whipping out my phone.

Had an omelette, the bacon was heavenly, the food was cooked to perfection, nice light fluffy omelette and the cappuccino was to die for. <br/>The service was fantastic, greeted with a smile and has a great sense of humor. <br/><br/>P.S. give me the recipe for that bacon!!

Food is fantastic its fresh and hot and tasty and lots of various bacon to try. The service is excellent. The host goes out of her way to make sure you're attended to and that you don't have to wait longer than necessary for your order. All round an excellent experience and definitely worth a visit if you at Willowbridge

I hardly give a 5/5 score but this time I saw nothing that would make this outlet deserve anything less. The menu offers a wide variety of bacon-based dishes and their prices are very competitive. The quality of food and presentation is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by how quick my burger was delivered. But what really impressed me of this restaurant is the excellent service received by my waiter, Solam, right from the time I stepped into the restaurant all the way through my stay. He was very pleasant, accommodating and was able to objectively advise which burger might have suited me. He also checked up with me if everything was fine while I was eating. You hardly come across such an excellent service even in a fine dining restaurant in other parts of the world. Hence the full score. Well done! Keep it up. Highly recommended

We ordered the breakfast club (with sourdough, avo, bacon, a poached egg, mushrooms, rocket and halloumi) as well as a joey tribiani sandwich (with meatballs). The breakfast was very interesting- a huge mouthful with way too much rocket but otherwise quite tasty. The sandwich was very fresh and the sauce that came on it was divine, however it was very expensive considering the size of the sandwich and the fact that it didn't come with a side. Our waiter was also very helpful and enthusiastic as he recommended our meals to us which we enjoyed overall.

Went to Baconville for Father's Day Brunch and even though we had to wait 20 minutes for our table it was totally worth it. The place was cooking but the waitrons was on top of it, with a variety check in from time to time and ensuring we are ready to order and satisfied with our food. I really appreciate this attentiveness especially during super busy times.<br/><br/>The menu is extensive and it took us over 15 minutes to decide what we want to eat. Love the cheeky one liners on the menu too.<br/><br/>Now for the food. Absolutely glorious, tasty and mouthwatering. I had the croissant with Crispy Bacon and Macadamia Nuts with Extra Banana. Perfection! The rest of the table agreed that this little spot is an absolute gem!

We had breakfast at Baconville this morning. My husband had eaten breakfast with colleagues here last week and had a really bad omelette. He phoned the manager and addressed the issue he had with the omelette.The omelette was dry with very little filling when he had requested a soft almost under done omelette.<br/>The manager invited my husband to come again and have an omelette for free. This morning we went for breakfast. I had the Triple T and husband had an omelette with bacon, mushrooms and cheese. The omelette was huge, delicious and made to perfection. My breakfast of bacon and fried eggs was also delicious.<br/>When we requested our bill the manager politely told us our entire meal was on the house, we did not expect this at all.<br/>I appreciate when a restaurant reacts to a complaint/criticism in a positive manner. Thank you to Marie for our breakfast we really had a lovely meal and we are grateful for the gesture.<br/>We have always had great food here and take the bad experience my husband had as a once off.

I'm going to start by saying that this was probably the best level of service that I have received from a restaurant in Cape Town for a very long time. The servers were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable on the items on the menu and in the restaurant, 👏👏👏 . The food (I mean bacon) was amazing, what more in life could you want than a bowl of bacon? I will definitely be back, love, love, love this place 😍😍😍. To be fair anywhere that places this much attention on bacon would rate high for me, but the service and food quality deserves a 10 out of 5!

Me and my girlfriend went for coffee coz we haven't been at that place, so we order coffee, of course, and three "snacks" to share while we drink our coffee..<br/>-Jalapeño poppers<br/>-Fries<br/>-Carrot cake<br/><br/>The jalapeño poppers they serve it without being crumbed, (which is not necessarily bad) it tasted very nice, something different.<br/><br/>The Fries well done, not oily at all, which I appreciate.<br/><br/>The cake was moist and a little too sweet for my taste buds, had too much cream for my taste but other than that was good and the size was generous for one portion.<br/>So I would recommend to share it between two people and eat it with an espresso or americano to contrast the sweetness.<br/><br/>The coffee, we order a cappuccino I don't know if it's my idea but till today I still thinking I felt a little taste of bacon, maybe was the milk who knows. But definitely tasted different than other coffee shops, once again, not necessarily bad, had a creamy taste.<br/><br/>◾Service was good.<br/>◾Atmosphere good.

I have wanted to try this place out for ages... I mean, who doesn't love bacon, right? I had The Harvey Specter ( a bit on the small side) and hubby had a burger. What I find strange is that the burger comes with no sides... you have to order chips as an extra. My daughter's chicken strips were amazing, but the overall experience was a bit "meh".

I arrived early for a breakfast with a friend, and they were still busy setting up. But super accommodating, I was offered coffee while I wait.  I really love the open feel of the restaurant.  My friend arrived, and we both ordered the Yank with a side of bacon fries to share.  Wow!! That might just be the best croissant I've ever had!  Salty and sweet and super yummy!  Service was great, loved the whole experience and will be back!

Went with great expectations, based on my friend recommendation. Was I disappointed, YES. I was expecting bacon flavor that will knock my socks off my feet, what I got is bacon what cannot rival Woolworths bacon for flavor. After this experience I would not go again. Maybe that is what happens if you expect to much from a place that is named after the product that is its source of inspiration. <br/>One nice thing is the coffee was nice.

Having passed by countless of times, I decided to finally check it out today.<br/><br/>Their double chocolate latte was really good-as was the Meryl Streep (basically a grilled cheese croissant with bacon) The croissant was deliciously fresh, light and buttery. The bacon was too fatty, but it was my own fault for forgetting to ask them to serve mine extra crispy.<br/><br/>The service, I found to be inconsistent. Initially my waitress was really attentive and friendly, after a while she disappeared and I battled for service, which was rather unfortunate.<br/><br/>All round, I had a pleasant experience here. I won't be hurrying back, but they haven't seen the last of me.<br/><br/>

The food was all too good. The bowl of fries with baconaisse sauce was an incredible touch on the taste buds. Will definitely be back for more awesome food.

This must be the best ciabatta bread I've had. Its so fresh, crisp on the outside and very soft inside, It was really lovely. The staff was very friendly too and very knowledgeable on what was on the menu.<br/><br/>I must say that I was a tad bit disappointed with the ration of the fillings, I mean the place is called Baconville, I was expecting that roll to be jam packed. I don't know, maybe its because I love bacon and all things meaty.<br/><br/>None the less, it was a great meal and the place is great to grab a quick breakfast, snack or brunch.

The ice coffee is to die for. Lovely manager, great vibe and great concept. No liquor license when we went, however that's not needed when there is great ice coffee.

I actually came across this place by accident...on the way to another restaurant...I saw the name and it stopped me in my tracks (I mean come on...it's got "bacon" IN the name)... <br/><br/>The service was excellent (and quick) - the place was not full, but you get the feeling that that's the usual standard. Inside seating was good to shield from the cold breeze (they supply blankies though), but outside seating would be great on warmer days. If you have kids, outside seating is right next to the Centre playground.<br/><br/>The menu is quirky, with interesting names for each of the dishes offered (you can even order a bowl of bacon). I ordered the Miami Vice (duck and bacon croquettes) and the Unicorn burger (chorizo spiced pork burger)...and they did not disappoint. There is definitely more I would like to try from the menu, so will definitely go back. I rounded off my meal with an iced coffee (Blonde)...they put double shot espressos in all their coffee drinks, so you definitely get your caffeine fix.

The service was helpful and friendly. Their coffee is good. They don't have a big variety of little snacks; there like five things if you want to snack. <br/>The coffee shop is warm inside, and for warmer days, they have an outside area as well. They have blankets available to use for the cold weather. <br/><br/>We ordered jalapeño poppers, fries and carrot cake. The serving of their poppers are different, as they cut it open and don't crumb it. It was good though, as it didn't burn too much, as some places jalapeños do. <br/><br/>Living up to their name, they do have bacon on many of their dishes; even a bowl of bacon. Other than that, they don't have something much different than other coffee shops.

Awesome place with a nice chilled atmosphere, rough iron chairs and cutlery that looks like switchblades. The staff is well informed and very friendly, and I was served immediately. <br/><br/>I had the usual to start, the cappuccino which is beautiful. Served in a hand made ceramic/pottery cup with a nice froth design on the golden brown and rich froth. The coffee is strong and tastes superb. Big thumbs up.<br/><br/>I ordered two mains...because it just all looks so delicious. I'm half the Half portion of Eve (which is about 300g of ribs) and the Jalapeños stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon...yes, you read that right. <br/><br/>The Jalapeños are to die for...omw. Not too spicy with just the right amount of bite. The bacon-cheese combo is perfect, giving a smokey taste to the half-poppers which really is amazing. Best popper-based food I've had to date. Really perfectly done! Served with some lettuce, lemon and a nice sweet chilli sauce which seems house made. Great stuff! A definite recommendation.<br/><br/>Then came the ribs. And that heap of ribs for a mere R50.00. Crazy! And so so soooo good! The meat fell from the bone and the cherry barbecue basting compliments the flavour of the pork so well that the dish truly is an experience. Another big big thumbs up from me. <br/><br/>I will definitely be coming back for more...Baconville just made a regular customer.<br/><br/>👍👍👍👍

Ambiance: awesome stroll-in, friendly, welcoming environment. I like to think of it as an upmarket-barnyard interior. <br/><br/>Food: mmmm, can I have some more please? Divine comfort rolling on my tongue. I had the stack (flapjacks, bacon, syrup)- the textures of the flapjack enveloped in sticky syrup with a dash of bacon crunch - yum. Hubby had the Joey Tribbianni (meatball sandwich) which surprisingly had me eyeing his food for an extra bite. Moist, vibrantely flavored meatballs which went perfectly with the bread. <br/><br/>Staff/service: friendly and extremely efficient staff. Food came out fast. Big kudos to the staff helping an elderly lady to her table!

Quirky little coffee shop, have lots of great options. Although the bacon was very salty on the burger that I ordered and it over empowered the taste of the other ingredients on my burger.

Strangely just stopped here for the coffee (I think it's Origin, which I love). They make a very good Flat White. Service was friendly and quick (although we were the only ones there). My friend had a plate of bacon that looked pretty decent. I'll be back at some point to try the food.

Visited Baconville with my friend for lunch a few days ago. <br/><br/>The service was quite fast and the waiters welcomed us with open arms. I had an Americano to drink. It's really nice that they had almond milk, but my friend is allergic to nuts so she had to have normal milk. A soy milk alternative would maybe be a good idea. <br/><br/>I had The Harvey Specter sandwich and I definitely recommend it! It's so tasty! My friend had the BLT, but thought it lacked some cheese for some extra flavour. Also, the bacon was super crunchy, maybe a little too crunchy. I couldn't cut through the bacon with a knife, so I just at the sandwich with my hands! <br/><br/>I will definitely be back to try more of the sandwiches as there is such a long list of them!

I will be the first to admit- feed me bacon and I'm a happy camper. <br/><br/>This is definitely hell on earth for vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians but sure is heaven for meat freaks! Lovely little hangout for those craving some bacon and an added touch of selling local farm bacon at the counter. Will be sure to go visit the farm soon

I was very intrigued to try out a bacon restaurant and really loved the interior. I ordered a bowl of bacon which was very crispy and tasty. Also had a good cream cappuccino.

Okay so the ribs are made to be crumbling but the physical meat on the bones was dry and overcooked. When I asked the waitress she told me the chef thought it was okay? However the person I was with said they quite enjoyed their burger so I say. Approach the ribs with caution, maybe it's a either you like them or you don't, but I would say rather don't. Try something else.

I found the menu very entertaining. Every dish has a clever name, some refering to the names of celebrities. I took my time trying to decide, eventually settling for the 'Yank' croissant because of its claim to be a perfect combination of salty & sweet. When our food arrived I was surprised how quickly it was ready, since the restaurant was packed during a Saturday lunch rush. At first glance I thought the food was beautifully presented on a cute piggy shaped board, but the portion seemed a tad smaller than I expected for R75. After the first few bites it was clear that I was paying for quality and top class flavour. I thoroughly enjoyed it.<br/>I also had a chocolate milkshake and it was simply perfect. The consistency was thick enough to scoop with my straw, but not so thick that I needed a spoon. Comparing the price of the milkshake to the price of my croissant, I couldn't believe that the milkshake was only R25, especially since lately I've been noticing milkshakes that cost in the range of R35-R48.<br/>I'm so pleased that 'Bacon' has spread its wings to the 'Ville', it just might be my new favourite lunch date spot.

Love this place I really enjoyed the food! I shared a Christiano Ronaldo and a Harvey Specter -both were really good, the CR was spicy which I really enjoyed and the HS was fresh and light!<br/>So creative that you can order a bowl of bacon! <br/>Like the decor and staff were great. Their breakfast menu looks great and can't wait to try it!

Amazing food and amazing service :) my husband and I went for lunch after a tough gym session. Naturally we were very thirsty and super hunger. Service was quick and the waiter offered to explain every item in the menu. Wow! My husband had the croissant with bacon (AMAZING) and I had the rainbow nation (trout salad), also just as AMAZING!! Having been to Bacon on Bree which I felt was a bit over rated - I was excited to try Baconville. The place let me down sadly. The person I was with ordered the simple bacon sandwich which comes with nothing fancy just tomato sauce and toast - however they somehow managed to mess it up and forget the simple tomato sauce leaving the sandwich very bland and meh. Manager was full of excuses but it didn't help very much.

Service was good. Breakfast was ok but not as good as expected. My latte was excellent. My health breakfast was very nice. Fresh fruit and yogurt with home made granola.

We went there this morning for breakfast, and had a really good meal each. I had the BoB croissant with extra scrambled eggs - fluffy eggs & great bacon. My partner had the Salma Hayek which he really enjoyed. The coffee & iced coffee was really good. We will definitely be back to try some more options from the menu

I was decidedly unimpressed and perhaps was expecting too much. My burger (The Don Draper) was relatively tasteless and the bun was a touch too hard. Similarly the ribs were dry which added to the disappointment. The chocolate and granadilla milkshakes were the saving grace.

A fantastic, much needed addition to this side of the world, Baconville can only be described as a meat lover's paradise!<br/><br/>The location is a bit awkward, nestled opposite Pulp Kitchen, sandwiched between the kids playground and a couple of ATMs. But despite the somewhat strange location, they still have delicious food and friendly service.<br/><br/>We popped in for a quick lunch. After reading the entire menu (I love their quirky little names, very sharp!), we finally decided to share the Harvey Spekter and the Salma Hayek. Both were divine - fresh bread and the best bacon I've ever had! Personally, I prefer the Salma Hayek. The brie in the Harvey Spekter was just a bit too overpowering for me. <br/><br/>We ended off with milkshakes, which are served in cute little jugs. I'd recommend going for one of the gourmet milkshakes - my caramel and butterscotch one was to die for!<br/><br/>Service was very quick and friendly. I'd definitely recommend it as a place to go for a quick lunch or brunch. And definitely a must if you love bacon!
