After visiting Ton Khoon Restaurant, at the Tyger Waterfront, I was totally blown away. I never expected the incredible attention to detail and service we received, not to mention their delicious authentic Thai cuisine. Every mouthful was a delightful culinary explosion of flavours. It's owners and staff are mostly authentically Thai, and we were treated like royalty, having our every need catered to.
Their menu is extremely abundant, so we opted for their salmon roses and these amazing parcels for starters to share, which tasted like nothing I've ever tasted before. It was sublime. I had a Thai Curry for mains which, once again, blew my mind. Every plate is garnished with delicately crafted vegetables.
Their prices are fit for the fuller pocket, but it was worth every penny we spent.
Their decor is beautiful, and located on the waters edge of the Tyger Waterfront, it makes for a very special experience.
I will definitely be back again!

If you want some of the best Thai food in Cape Town you need to come here. The view of Tygerberg Waterfront is also stunning!

Highly recommend! Authentic Thai food, the taste, food preparation and presentation - all the finishing touches have been included! Definitely worth every penny. Very gracious hosts. I really appreciate the hosts wearing traditional Thai clothing, and it's really pleasant to hear traditional Thai music softly playing during your meal. Also, the place is absolutely spotless. All round perfect dining experience.
Amazing Thai food and hospitality.
The ambiance was quite romantic, we went there for our long overdue date night, so that worked out well. Very friendly service by the 2 Thai sisters. Took us right back to our wonderful trips to Thailand. They even gave us some tips of lesser known places to visit. We like the less touristsy spots in Asia, so we penciled it down.
The green curry was beyond tasty and authentic. The Peking duck was okay, not the best we've ever had (pancakes a bit too thick and the plum sauce was not thick and sticky enough).
Awesome food. Awesome service. Very spicey so if it's your first time and like some burn, try medium first as a reference before working up.
A wonderful Thai food and culture experience!! Owner run you can immediately tell the difference! Hospitality is genuine and the food was exquisite and beautifully presented with hand crafted sides looking over the waterfront, this was truly a great experience, even during load shedding it made no difference.
Definitely added to my favourite list of restaurants. Just FYI, leave the small ones at home

From the moment you walk through the doors of Ton Khoon, there is a magical tranquility that washes over you. Yes, this is a restaurant, but hear me out.
As you enter the doors, you are met by two beautiful golden statues which I believe are guardian angels. And just beyond them are two other angels. They are serene and graceful. They exude inner peace. They are the hostesses of Ton Khoon. They are attentive and are there as if by telepathy to provide you with superb customer service.
The food offering is nothing less than an elevated experience of gastronomical perfection. The Dim Sum is quite literally a taste pilgrimage to a place it never knew existed. The crispy duck, an oriental phenomenon.
Ton Khoon is one of those restaurants you never forget. And after a year of absence, consistent perfection is the least I could say about this exquisite Thai restaurant. My compliments to the chef, the owner and the two timeless goddesses that glide about the restaurant, casting a watchful and caring eye over all their customers.
Everything was absolutely splendid. Staff and management made us feel welcome and special. Food was delicious. Beautifully decorated in a sirene atmosphere.
If you are looking for authentic Thai cuisine, then this is the place. Everything is just absolutely perfect. Their kindness, amazing food preparations, the beautiful setting is just to die for.

The owner and staff generally care about their guests and food. They make you feel welcomed with genuine thai hospitality. Authentic food using ingredients from Thailand. The owner takes time to greet everyone at their tables and takes any feedback seriously. You have real thai chefs preparing the food. I wished I lived closer so that I can enjoy this place every day!
