Harpers is an absolute gem we never knew about and found by pure luck. The style, decor and ambiance are absolutely unique and inviting. We loved it and are definitely going again. The service is good and everyone is friendly as well.
The food was fantastic and our expectations were met and more; the match of flavours, food types and ingredients are perfect; making this a must place to eat if you in east gate shopping centre.

We had brunch here one Saturday. The service good and the food fantastic. I had the Thai sandwich which was surprisingly good and the other meals also were good with healthy portion sizes.

Wow, the last time I went to Harper's was when I was still in Primary School. Mom and I would often go for Sunday brunch and the standard meal would be the Avo and Bacon Welsh Rarebit. So in old tradition, maybe 15 years later, I decided to have this famous Harper's dish.
Funny, it was even better than I remembered it. Served on healthy bread, layers of bacon and avo covered in a cheesy sauce. Baked and served hot. It really is a great alternative to the usual breakfast. They have various fillings, so you have no excuse not to try the Welsh Rarebits. I was rather hungry, so I added a 150g chicken breast and it worked really well together.
I remember Harper's from the days of Stuttafords, but now this legendary restaurant has found a new home in the new section of Eastgate. Even better, it has a new 2018 look. That said, it's still as charming, cozy and classy as the original Harper's. I was shocked to hear they first opened in 1979.
Basil, the owner told me they are now able to open for dinner service as they aren't situated in Stuttafords. And you can still order a breakfast if you come later in the evening.
I had the famous Mozart cake and felt like I had committed the biggest single of all - but it was so worth it. A layered cake with chocolate flakes and a creamy hazelnut centre. Absolutely delicious. I had it with a nice warm cappuccino. (If you just feel like a sweet treat while shopping in the buzzing Eastgate - this is the perfect hide away spot)
The waiters were friendly and the restaurant was fresh and clean. I liked the open air feeling and the detailed light features.
Next time you in Eastgate - pop into Harper's and have a slice of old school tradition served with a modern twist.
This is one of my favourite places to go to when I want to have an enjoyable light meal in a relaxed setting.
The food is always great and the staff friendly and accommodating.
It does get really busy and crowded so best to make a reservation if you want a booth seat.
Update: Haven't been to Harpers in a while and you know what... nothing has changed, food and service is still excellent. This is a place worth going to again and again...

The atmosphere, the chilled, classy vibe was awesome. The food was delicious 😬👌🏻 I loved the biscuits with the cappuccinos and the cappuccino was delicious.
I havent been to the new Harpers and arrived early to meet a friend. I felt I was inside a Home Improvement magazine as I could wait on a stylish couch for my friend. Total class and style ❤️ My friend and I started with Americano cafe. Not sure if it was the pretty mugs, but the coffee was the best ever. Thereafter we ordered a quince feta and spinach and a salad. To top it off they gave us a mustard salad dressing. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I realized then restaurant was packed to the brim and wow who can resist such tasty food and glamouros environment. An absolute treat!
The food was really good, and the menu covers an extensive range of foods meeting a variety of tastes. Additionally, we received amazing service from Blessed. He made everyone feel comfortable and made great conversation, 5/5 for his service.
Excellent service, excellent setting. Our waiters name was Blessed, he knows the menu off by heart. He recommended our food and all I can say is Wow!! The restaurant has very nice cutlery and crockery. If you're planning to order their past you must really come with an empty tummy. Their food is way too cheap for the quality, venue and atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and they work as a team, you won't have dirty plates on your tables, just because your waiter is busy. Definitely my new fav spot 😍👌🏽👌🏽

I absolutely love this place. Breakfast is delicious, the salmon boat is to die for and the Mozart cake, WOW! I could eat it at least once a week 🙊My favourite brunch spot at the moment 👌
This place was elegantly decorated with high ceilings and glass walls. The staffs were friendly and we ordered their weekly dinner special. Their food was good value and quality. My chicken schnitzel was slightly burnt and a bit salty but overall enjoyable. Their beef stroganoff was quite tasty as well.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is always of good quality. My wife had the Sunday lunch special and I had the chicken strips with the 3 different dips and the meat and chicken was soft and tasty.
We also enjoy the cakes from Harpers, one of the best ones is the Baklava cheesecake.
The service is top notch and the variety of food available is impressive as well.

I love the calmness of the environment, it’s such a nice place for any time of the day. Dinner vibes are so awesome slow and relaxing.
When my dad was alive, this was his go to spot with friends. My mom and I have now carried on the tradition of having regular coffee dates there, especially with my son. The staff here are by far some of the best and loveliest people I have ever met. So much so that I miss them if I do not go there for a couple of days. Their food is to die for. Not only is it well priced, but you can taste the love and care put in each meal. A truly wonderful hidden gem. They also put a ton of care into kid options! They frequently give my son a gingerbread to take home. They’ve also given my son a coloring in page and some pens because he was having a bit of a meltdown. That level of service is so rare!
Lovely treat after a hectic week. The staff was most friendly, mochaccino delicious and carrot cake scrumptious.

My wife and I came here for a Friday lunch. The food is top quality. We ordered two pizzas and both tasted amazing. One small compliant on the food is that the pizza base was very slightly under done, only if it was in the oven 30 seconds longer. Another issue is the service was very slow. The restaurant wasn't completely full so we thought we would be in and out within an hour. However, we were there for almost 2 hours. Overall, we would definitely come back and try something else on the menu. If the service is better then I will change it to 5 stars.
I recently had the pleasure of having breakfast at Harper's Restaurant which was a delightful experience, with efficient, friendly yet unintrusive service. The menu's wide variety caters to diverse tastes, and the breakfast options are both delicious and perfectly portioned. I had the Calypso and my egg was poached exactly as I had requested. My fellow dinners had the Giusto and one of the speciality omelettes. All complimented the deliciousness of their meals.
The coffee is of high quality, complementing the meal perfectly. The only drawback is the somewhat hidden location behind escalators, but once found, Harper's becomes a charming spot for social gatherings. Overall, it's a fabulous dining experience that combines excellent service, delicious breakfast, and a versatile menu and relaxing ambience. Highly recommended.
WOW. The Mango chicken curry was superb. The strawberry roulade was heavenly. Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever eaten out. And spot on service from Precious as well. 5 stars all day long.
