Good value for money, very clean. Food is tasty.
Visited for the 3rd time. Hands down one of the best Portuguese restaurants. Their food never disappoints. Their seafood is always fresh and their desserts are mouth watering.
Only disappointing factor which I have experienced every time is that the staff are not very attentive, other than when they bring you your food and drinks when they’re ready. You have to wave them down for a good few minutes every time to catch their attention when asking for the menu again for dessert or for the bill or just simply for another drink. They should be keeping an eye on all their tables that they’re in charge of all the time.
Other than that, no complaints. Everything is great
Good food and service, a bit on the pricey side. 1 ball of vanilla ice cream for R40? But will go back as the food is good
Interesting setting, but excellent vibe and fantastic food. Friendly and efficient service. Luckily we made a booking, because the place quickly filled up with diners
Visited for a friends birthday. Upon arrival I wasn’t sure what to make of this place - but what a pleasant surprise !!!! An authentic Portuguese experience ... like you would have in your Avo’s home.
Prawns were cooked to perfection with delicious rice, chips and peri- peri . Calamari was just melt-in-the-mouth tender and juicy ; drenched in garlic and peri-peri ... just the way I like it. Steak was good too.
Friendly waiters who love working there - best brand ambassadors ever.
Will definitely return.
My favorite dish is the prawns. They are big juicy crustaceans with a tasty Portuguese butter sauce that comes with well cooked chips that are crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. This dish is awesome and is so succulent and delicious. Though the restaurant does get very busy
This Portuguese restaurant is awesome. I go there every second weekend with my parents, all of the food is great, and our waitress "Zinga" is so nice and her service is awesome
We always eat in a few Portuguese favorite places, this is one of them👍👍prawns are nice, bean stew, calamari, eshpetada, dobrada, couzido, pickled tuna and the white desert made out of cream condensed milk and Marie bisquits. Love it love it love the home made food from there
We had a wonderful lunch at O’Vicente today. The service was great and friendly. The food was superb. We had deep fried squid heads and salad to start and prawns for mains. The restaurant was packed so would recommend booking.
I actually would give it a 4.5 but Zomato doesn't allow for that right now. The only reason for this is because one of us had the tuna steak and found it wanting. It was full of bones and left an aftertaste. Also the service, while certainly friendly, could be just a tad quicker. However, that is where my critiques end, and the many good things about this classic Portuguese restaurant begin. O Vincente has a quaint charm of an independent neighbourhood hang out along the pavement for the Portuguese community and all non-Portuguese who just love Portuguese food. You have to try the prawns. They are very reasonably priced, very tasty, very big, and done very well. Chicken peri peri is excellent and I recommend it with a classical Portuguese fried pap, which is so well received that other tables were ordering whole plates full of it. They do mussels very well too, and an array of desserts, but I would insist on trying the feathery light molotov--that's a sort of egg white pudding with coffee liquor and its sensational. O Vincente is well lit, has lots of charm and personality, and the food (apart from the tuna steak) is really fantastic. Prices are very reasonable, food is fresh, and the place is spacious enough to accommodate a large crowd. You won't regret coming here, that I assure you.
It was a stunning girls luncheon. Best friends together, catching up and being served the most delicious food. I absolutely loved the prawns. Thanks to my besties for sharing this day with me and thanks to the staff of the restaurant for the wonderful friendly service.
This restaurant offers delectable Portuguese cuisine. While the service can be a bit slow, it's a testament to the saying that 'good things take time'. The staff is professional and courteous. However, be prepared for a bustling atmosphere as it often gets crowded. The venue itself is on the smaller side and, although it may not win awards for aesthetics, it exudes a cozy charm that many will appreciate.
This is the real deal. Not fancy but proper. I enjoy this way more than fancy over the top. Food was excellent. Well presented and good portions. Value for money is great which is hard to find these days. We had prawns and can’t wait to go back for the prawn calamari combo option.
Really great selection of food. Especially fish. Kingklip is amazing. Price is affordable too
Passable, food was fair to good. Not too much attention to customer focus, but if you're ok with not having efficiency, then, good to visit. Quality of seafood used was very good.
Busy pub style spot. TV and smoking section a bit rowdy. Starters of chourico and mussels were lovely. I liked the lemony butter sauce of the mussels, different to the creamy sauces usually served. Prawns were juicy and plump. Chicken was good. Didn't enjoy the skinny fries served with both dishes.
Top notch food. We had picanha, prawns, calamari and milho Frito. All of it was perfectly cooked and the flavour was excellent.
The atmosphere is classic Madeira and the service is friendly. The location is a bit out of the way but well worth it.
If you are in the East or South Johannesburg, do it. You won't regret it.
Food (ie prawns) excellent
rustic but perfect. Great food and good service. Super Bock on tap😃
Went today after a round of golf.
I’ve been on a mission for while to find the best authentic Portuguese chicken in JHB.
This was my 1st time & the hot chicken & chips were amazing, I’ll definitely be back for more. 👌🏾👌🏾
