The food was delicious 😋 We ordered butter chicken, lamb curry, prawn curry, garlic naan, butter naan, and tandoori chicken as a family of 6. Was enough for us all to enjoy 😋🤤
For dessert we ordered FRIED ICE CREAM 🍨 10/10 would recommend!!! We loved it. We were really full so we ordered 2 to split amongst the 4 of us who wanted a desert.
Service was a bit slow, the waiter took over 10 minutes to bring us a jug of water which we asked to be brought to use immediately as my little sister had hiccups.
The atmosphere is airy with an amazing view of the sea with a cool ocean breeze 🌊 👏 The location is great. Also we enjoyed the view of the Pool so calm and soothing 😌 great place to relax and unwind after a yummy meal 😋
My wife and I dined at this gem of a restaurant for our 3rd anniversary celebration. The service we received from our waiter was exceptional and the regular attention from the owner was friendly and welcoming. The food was exceptional, and far exceeded our expectations. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of service and food on offer. Importantly, their curries include a complimentary side of rice, which is not offered in most high end Indian restaurants these days. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful view of the ocean, poolside seating available which is lovely. The restaurants set up is amazing. Extremely neat and clean. All the waiters are very friendly and helpful. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated immediately. Collin Perumal was our waiter, he was so efficient with a vast knowledge of the menu, restaurant and surrounding area. He made some wonderful recommendations. We even bought 1kg of the complimentary snack, it's so scrumptious.
The food was absolutely flavorful, each grain of the vegetable breyani was coated with the aromatic spices. The Tandoor paneer was a meal on it's own, so delicately spiced and delicious. The meat was falling off the bone hence their durban style mutton curry on the bone is a must try and it is served with basmati rice. You could alternatively order their Naan or rotis. Please do not leave without trying the fried ice cream, it is out of this world...a simple dessert which teases your tastebuds. It's an incredible experience for the tastebuds though...the first bite - you can clearly taste a creamy vanilla ice cream wrapped in a thin crisp dough, the second bite - you can taste fresh cream donut and the third bite - you can taste jalebi...what a thrilling way to end a fantastic meal.

An authentic Indian experience! Starters - Palak Chaat (deep fried spinach leaves) - oh my goodness 🤤 absolutely obsessed with it! Chilli Chicken - I have never tasted such tender and delicious chicken before. Mains - an assortment of Fish Curry, Prawn Curry, Mutton Curry and Chicken Curry - my favourites were the Prawn and Mutton. Everything is Halaal. Kerala inspired dining in Durban! We went at night, and were seated by the pool. I asked the waiter for vegan options so she called one of the managers and he was so nice!! He made a nan and vegetable curry vegan for me and the food was delicious. Thank you for the lovely service and I will definitely be back.
Was pleasantly surprised by Thava - great location, warm welcoming host and friendly, efficient staff. The menu is good enough, but huge disappointment that there's no dosai or idlis on offer. The host did explain the reasoning behind it, and mentioned that the Joburg branch has it all, but that's the last thing a Durbanite wants to hear. The paneer manchurian starter - excellent, the nonveg starter platter - average, lamb shank biryani was surprisingly good, Kerala lamb was good, but the best was the simple yet delicious paratha. Overall the food is tasty, but just seems to be spiced excessively (taste-wise, not heat), and both my wife and I were in need of some anti-reflux. So Thava is great for a trip up the North Coast, but needs to catch up to the benchmark in Durban, that is Palki. I hope they do.

Thava is lovely. Friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Decor is adequate as well and well layed out.
The food is amazing, we ordered the mild selection and to our surprise is was perfect the tastes and aroma is spot on.
I have had biryani in Delhi in India, as well as butter chicken at an Indian restaurant in China, and Thava's food tastes better than both destinations food.

Very friendly staff. Food was good. And service was prompt. Amazing views of the Indian Ocean. Definitely something to try if you are craving for Indian food while in Ballito.

Food is average. Priced appropriately. Friendly atmosphere and waiters are pleasant. Nice views from the restaurant. Ask for Vikram or Samir, both are good at what they do!
