Review Bongos - Wynberg

Was at my friend's 70th Birthday lunch on 1 Oct. Well the Sunday lunch was outstanding. Will definitely be going back there. The owners and staff are very pleasant and friendly and go the extra mile. Very helpful. You go Bongo family. Bongos is a home away from home.

Bongo's is a family business and we as patrons are made to feel very welcome. We had an awesome day there yesterday...met so many people. Everyone is friendly, especially the hosts Lyndon & Alana... thank you for an amazing time...Karin & John

Feels like coming home whenever I come here. Owners are always welcoming and make you feel as if you matter to them. All those in the area should definitely come around and enjoy your local watering hole that's within walking distance.

So I'm new to the Plumstead area and decided to pop in and just have a look. Met Lindon (not sure of the spelling) as I walked in and...WOW, what a great host! This local family-run hangout is just what we're looking for. We are definitely looking forward to a visit very soon.

Last Friday I ordered take out from Bongos. I was absolutely disgusted with the food as well as the service. When I went to fetch the the good guy at dest was not wearing his mask properly when asked to please put his mask on told us it was very hot. Then the i think manager came in the guy told him to put his mask on and he refused. We waited outside. Getting home food was disgusting steaks were blue we requested medium to well done. The chicken strips total of 4 strips tasted sour, the snitchel was just as bad, asked and paid for pepper sauce which we did not receive. The meals came up to R1100. 00 Nobody ate it so my dog got a very expensive meal. Would not recommend to anybody. outside or food. Getting home was so disgusted with it.

Nice friendly place, food, sports and drinks. One of those places where you would see the same faces most of the time.. It's been around for years, different owners over the years. BEST PORK BELLY RIBS, NO NEED FOR A KNIFE, THE MEAT FALLS OFF THE BONE🐖😋

09 February 2021: I was very surprised to see a Google notification about this review that I published in this forum at least seven or eight years ago. Different people now own the venue and I have not been there in at least five years. What Google think that they are doing is anyone's guess but it has me nonplussed. My original review did indeed read: "A stunning venue where friends meet friends. We all go back a long way and long may it last. Keep up the high standards "Gummy" and you'll never have to worry my China!" It would seem that I now have to visit the venue again in order to update my reference. PMW-G I wonder what the current owners think of Google's tactic of resurrecting old copy and charging for it as new material?

The hamburgers here are really great. The atmosphere is good and staff are friendly. There is a variety of food to choose from as well as various local beers.

Bongo's, my local :) the place to be for every live sport event and even just a friday after work drink to unwind. Bongo's where everyone becomes FAMILY.

Lovely tasty large portions on most of the Menus. Affordable Starters..Main Meals & Deserts. Refreshments just as affordable and well priced. Good friendly service.

Bongo's is a quirky little spot hidden away in residential Plumstead. I just ordered a takeaway rump steak ... Very yummy. A nice thick piece cooked perfectly. Chips and salad also prepard very well. Will definitely return.

It really & truly is a family orientated restaurant. Everyone is like family & the atmosphere is great, definitely my new local hangout.

Homey environment. Friendly staff, great energy. Do not mis out on their Bongos burger and Ribs.
