Visited Four and Twenty twice during my stay in Cape Town. Absolutely love the eclectic charm it has and the delicious food.
During my first visit I tried the savoury scone with freshly squeezed orange juice. During my second visit I chose the Chelsea breakfast bowl filled with vanilla seed yogurt, honey roasted cashew nut and mixed seed granola, berry compote and fresh seasonal fruit. It was absolutely devine. My husband had the Green Eggs and Ham, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Had breakfast with my daughter at this delightful place this morning. Buzzing with activity and Sunday morning banter, this place is really the place to be for a Sunday morning breakfast. Beautifully decorated! We both had the eggs Benedict... I had mine with trout. Really delicious! We bought some croissants and other irresistable goodies to take home. Really loved this place.
A quick pop in ended up a 2hrs later, thank you for making our morning beautiful, very stylish, staff very professional & no long wait for order
The service was a amazing from the get go. The waitress was super friendly and very helpful. The food was great. Very well presented and tasty. Fantastic banting options too. Located in a nice quite street away from the usual hustle and bustle of Wynberg.
A charming cafe located in a lovely village - you’ll feel as if you’re overseas!
We went for mid-morning Scones which were very tasty. I had the savoury scone which came with interesting preserves such as pickled beetroot and onion marmalade. My partner had a sweet scone which was served with lime curd (they unfortunately did not have the lemon curd like he originally wanted) and cream.
The actual scones were fresh, crumbly and delicious. They are quite expensive but it’s a cute experience!
Can’t really fault this restaurant. Great spot for breakfast (and it’s all day). Service is great. Just make sure you book in advance, they get pretty full (and rightly so...)
I opted for the eggs benedict with bacon + feta. Their hollandaise sauce is really delicious and they make a mean lemonade ! Highly recommend this restaurant.
This is my regular spot when I’m in the mood for brunch or lunch which never disappoints, speedy WiFi too. Anyone who is a regular here like I am would 100% agree.
There’s absolutely no meal I’ve had and been disappointed, they have a wide selection of hot drinks and also sell a variety of handcrafted goods such as cookies, gin, wines and different kinds of teas (you can find loose leaf mostly)
They have very great baked goods too, i’m a fan of their ginger spiced cupcakes , I can never find it anywhere and it gives me that ginger bread man cookie nostalgia and I absolutely love that.
It gets pretty full on most days but with patience you will be seated soon after you arrive as people pop in and out for quick meals. (They don’t take reservations)
Gorgeous setting in quaint Chelsea village. Sat at the front window and it was so fabulous to watch the world go by. Delicious food. The truffle Benedict was a bit too rich for me but what was I expecting from a combination of truffle and hollandaise. Great service and packed as always!!!

An amazing cute and quaint little coffee shop in Chelsea Village, Wynberg.
The service is amazing considering they are always very busy and the staff are really friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. Took my mum here for Mother’s day and we both had the Egg Benedict - I had the ‘Eggs be Oriental & Lean’ and my mum had the ‘Eggs be Licious’. Both of us had it with bacon and I added a piece of gluten free toast to my meal. They also gave my mum a complementary cupcake for mother’s day.
Definitely going to be coming back here soon!
Sincerely, Four&Twenty is my absolute favourite breakfast spot in Cape Town. The restaurant is often bustling and busy, but that doesn't subtract from the professionalism of the staff; they are friendly and helpful. The food, itself, always gives me reason to return.
One of my favorite quaint breakfast spots with the girls. Clean healthy homegrown food with a different menu to the everyday breakfast menu. Egg's Benedict with Salmon stays my no. 1 breakfast choice. Good coffee !
This is one busy coffee shop! The service is actually really amazing, I was really impressed with how it’s run. As full as it gets, everyone is well taken care of.

Great little cafe in Chelsea, excellent breakfast and good coffee, we frequent this little gem often. Need to add SnapScan and Zapper to their payment options, especially since they’re already running Ikentoo. Lots of deli type treats on sale too, definitely worth a visit.
Lovely little spot and clearly very popular! Service is good and the food is really tasty and beautifully presented. Sadly the buttery edamame beans never made it onto my Oriental Eggs Be-Lean.
I'll definitely be back and this is sure to become one of my favourite spots in the mother city.
Beautiful restaurant in Wynberg. Went on a Sunday which was awesome as it wasn't too busy. Waitress was phenomenal throughout and I have no complaints on the service. Had the eldoflower shandy drink I believe that is what it's called, AMAZING! the salmon benedict was the meal of choice & I also tried their shakshukka which was equally as good! Next time will definitely try their sweeter dishes, but from this first experience- service, food, venue, it's a must visit!
The food was amazing, I had breakfast here and enjoyed everything, the ambiance is just what I look for, but the food and service are what will keep me coming back for more. a 30 + minute drive for me but definitely worth it!

For the Parisian feel, one may dine on the pavement, indulging in decadent delights, uniquely assembled ingredients that the chef constructs with freshly grown onsite herbs, or one may choose to sit in any of the inside rooms or the outside garden.
Wherever one sits, one is enveloped with elegance and a feel-good ambience.
The furniture lends itself to various periods in time from a large inviting majestic couch to a touch of modern. Wherever one looks there are interesting well thought out displays, be it scrumptious pastries to wines, preserves and biscuits. A display fridge holds handmade delights created in the kitchen onsite.
Being a high-end coffee shop with a reputation as “one of Cape Town’s best”, one is not surprised that the menu holds elevated prices. However, every dish is a unique masterpiece, an artist creation visibly made with love and pride.
My spouse enjoyed the most delicious open Vegetarian sandwich, topped with humus and caramelised onion. Of course, the gastronomical guru had to taste it. For one who is never at a loss for words, I was speechless. It was an oral explosion of fabulous flavour.
I ordered a vegetarian muffin which was elegantly served with beetroot and caramelised onion. The combination of ingredients just works.
From supreme service, to delightful décor, delicious displays of deli delights, a multitude of crafted choice cuisine and an ambiance of awesomeness, Four and Twenty certainly stands alone in it’s uniqueness. It peaks at perfection and without a doubt after experiencing it once, one is sure to become a regular.

Only downfalls would have to be the parking and the amount that can be accommodated within the restaurant. It is extremely popular, so I would definitely recommend making a booking especially if it’s for 5 or more people.
I am never disappointed by their food but on my latest visit I was told they were unable to serve tap water due to the drought which I'm sure is illegal. Also the waitress was laughably terrible. I've heard from 2 people that people have gone just to see how terrible she is because you wouldn't believe it unless you saw it. I guess that's one way of getting customers!
By far one of the best breakfast dining experiences yet. The food was divine. The window side seating looking across over the road and beyond to the park, on the rainy day we went, created such a cosy atmosphere. It’s just a marvel. Great service from Donnell to boot. Well done

Quirky little café in the heart of Chelsea Village, Wynberg. I had the most delicious cream tea that I've had in a very long time. The coffee and service was good. They also have some great little treats to take away. Brilliant for breakfast.

My favourite place to eat breakfast in Cape Town. The restaurant is cosy and beautifully decorated, and the eggs belicious and baked goods are cooked and flavored to perfection. Only complaint might be that the portion sizes are a bit small, particularly for the price. Otherwise, a faultless breakfast experience.

Everything on the menu is delicious, especially all the treats on offer. I love that the menu changes frequently so you never get bored of it and there is always something new to try! My favorite place for brunch.
I love the atmosphere at four and twenty. It always seems busy, feels welcoming and cosy in winter yet light and cool in summer with a lovely little outdoor area at the back. Cappuccino is excellent and the breakfast delicious.
My son and I chose the 'make your own' option me with scrambled egg, ciabatta, mushrooms and boerenkaas cheese and him with fried eggs and bacon. Both were very tasty. The cheese is new to me but if you like a strong flavoursome cheddar it's excellent.
My wife chose the egg belicious with bacon and loved it!
Our only gripe was the long wait for our food ... but in fairness the place was really busy. Despite this we had a very friendly and efficient waiter.
A great choice for breakfast ... if you are lucky enough to find parking!
GREAT spot! The design at this place is just brilliant. The plates, the menu, the little flowers on the tables, the interior design, the way the food is presented, the visuals are just so well carried through. Breakfast here was super tasty. The service was way above average. The waiter knew the menu very well and was super helpful. There was an event running and I was particularly impressed at how the waiters managed the tables so well.
Love a good four and twenty breakfast! Been looking forward to this treat all week! The cafe was full, but they managed to seat us thankfully because it was already 10.30 and I was starving! I had my usual green eggs and ham Benedict! It really cannot be beaten!
The service was good, a bit slow but it was extremely busy! The atmosphere was cosy and warm! Will definitely be back again for a breakfast in the near future!

The breakfasts are delicious, with some odd creations like a sweet hot dog, which my boyfriend ordered and loved, and my sister swears they make the best flapjacks in the world, I on the other hand love a savoury breakfast. I had the eggs belicious, silky smooth Hollandaise, perfectly soft poached eggs and crispy crispy bacon.
The coffee was tasty, however slightly cold.
The service was very friendly and efficient and our waiter remembered what who ordered even though we were playing musical chairs all morning.
The cafe is complimented by a pantry full of local produce, and homemade deli items.
Definitely want to go back for lunch, some of the salads flying out of the kitchen looked amazing.
All of the desserts are absolutely amazing especially the chocolate cookies. I like the make your own breakfast but all of the other menu options are a little fancy for my taste. The make your own breakfast is great because you can just get toast eggs bacon Avenue which is what I like
The reason four and twenty does not get a 4.5+ is the noise. They are always full, for good reason. Perfectly smooth coffee and crazy delicious breakfasts. The menu is designed for breakfast customizers and nearly anything is possible. A good wifi cafe to sit and read or work, if you need peace and quiet go for a stroll in the adjacent park. Service is non-disturbing yet precise, which is something I look for in any restaurant or cafe. You'll only get bothered when you want to be. The inside feels slightly on the kitsch side, but the owners clearly love design and beautiful spaces. You'll feel at home and invisible at the same time.
Have been here a number of times for breakfast and coffee and cake. Interior is warm and inviting and baked goods especially the scones are delicious. Coffee is good too. I feel that service could be improved though. On a number of occasions, once our waiter/waitress has bought our food we don't see them again and are left to pay at the counter.

We met for lunch on a rainy and cold day, seated in the courtyard space outside which was actually quite pleasant and peaceful. Breakfast recommendation: Green Eggs and Ham - absolutely delicious. For tea drinkers, the lemongrass and ginger is a winner too!

I can now say that this is on my favorite lists for breakfast in Cape Town.A cold wet windy morning in Cape Town and 4&20 was buzzing.Table wait was 45-60 minutes. we decided to brave the inclemental weather and sit outside.Service was quick and our meal did not disappoint.

This restaurant everybody must experience. The menu is small but exciting and there is something for everyone. It's not particularly child friendly but great for a date or business meeting. The drinks menu is also really great and has a wide variety. We had the fish cakes and burger - they were both amazing and a good portion. It is somewhat overpriced and inaccessible in that sense but you'll probably find it's worth it. Just to add- the decor is really appealing and suits the area.
It's always busy and you'll wait, but it's worth it. You'll come back and wait again because it's just that good. The food, decor and service is all an invitation to be comfortable and to indulge. Go for breakfast, stay for lunch and have someone role you home afterwards.
Warned that we’d have to wait for a table, we weren’t stressed by the delay. And once seated, we decided it was well worth the wait.

I came here for breakfast with friends a while back on a busy Saturday morning. By the time we got there, the restaurant was already full so we had to wait inside until there was a table available. I opted for the eggs benedict with salmon which was delicious! My friends loved their breakfasts as well. Our waitress was super friendly, polite and attentive. Overall: excellent good and great service with a great location to boot! But book in advance if you can because this place is quite popular especially on weekends.
Such a cool quirky place! Love the area and the decor in the restaurant and there are items to buy in the restaurant which is really nice!
I had their refresh pressed juice the berry flavor! Which was very delicious and refreshing! Trying to be healthy I had their gluten free brownie with peanutbutter which was very good but was expecting a bigger brownie, while the rest of the fam had a cupcake and chocolate loaf :) the service was very good and the waitress was very sweet!
Only reason for it not being 5/5 was : they had run out of most of their cakes and pressed juices even though it was near the end of them closing. They should always have enough stock in for the last customer!!!

Came here for brunch yesterday and it was very full but we managed to get a table pretty much straightaway so we were quite lucky. I had the cheesecake which was lovely! The coffee was nice and the little biscuit they give on the side is cute. My friends flapjacks came in a huge portion! The cakes and bakes are well priced but the food is on the more expensive side
My awesome friend and housemate discovered this place and came home just raving about it. She tried it for a second time and same thing. So I insisted she take me there. It's not often I am completely bowled over but not did this place have me! Located on a quaint street in wynberg. The decor and ambience are just fabulous. One of the most simply put yet visually stimulating places I've been to. The menu has a very wide variety of everything - from unique breakfasts to teas, cakes etc.
I had the oriental eggs with their wholewheat bread. FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC. I mean to create so much flavor from a simple bacon and egg breakfast is totally impressive. The coffee and juices are also superb and available in a wide variety.
Our waitress was also sooooo friendly. But she got quite busy and sometimes neglected us which is the only reason I am not giving this place a whopping 5/5.
It is totally your loss if you do not make your way to this place!

A cozy and scrumptious experience at the Four & Twenty in the heart of Wynberg. Situated in a quaint house like structure, the theater starts the moment you step into this establishment. I love the open kitchen and seeing the staff put together their versions of deliciousness.
We had the Breakfast Tartine (with duck egg) and Oriental Eggs Be-Lean both great tasting dishes and highly recommended. All the elements on the Tartine were well executed-loved the richness of the truffle butter (although I wished it was spread all the way to the edge of the brioche - this is me splitting hairs) but enjoyable through. Also like the acidity of the tomato relish against the dish-I'm not sure if it perfectly balanced it but the dish was so nice and rich I can only give it high praise. My fellow foodie-life-partner-in-crime and I both agreed that the smoked trout might have been a better partner to the Oriental Eggs Be-Lean. As delicious as the bacon was it did overwhelm the subtle flavors of the umami hollandaise coated goodness. Once again all elements were well executed.
The coffee (from Tribe coffee) was good as well. It wasn't overly spectacular but very happy for this to form a part of our morning adventures. The raspberry thyme sparkling drink was also hit!
Service was on point-polite and efficient. No faults here.
If we're ever in town again Four & Twenty will definitely be on our go-to again list!
What a beautiful little breakfast spot! I came here one Saturday morning and the legend is certainly true. This place gets busy. Despite that, however, our waitress was lovely and the food arrived rather quickly. The food was delicious, as expected. I had the Eggs Benedict, which I enjoyed though I felt it was a little low on the hollandaise. The standout for me was the delicious cafe mocha which was rich but not sickly sweet - I haven't enjoyed a coffee like that in a while! I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon for the food (delicious, yes but nothing special) but I'll definitely stop by again for a coffee.
I love this place for breakfast!! Almond Croissant, Green Eggs and Ham, Eggs Belicious and Oriental Eggs Be-Lean!! Yummy in my tummy!! Need to make a reservation if you are 5 or more and the have timings for those reservations. Otherwise you come and wait outside and put your name on the list. But the wait is so worth it. Recommended highly. Service is good. Seating indoors only. If you hate waiting there's a beautiful park opposite the restaurant, where you can take a stroll early in the morning to kick off things.
Incredible. Oriental Eggs Be-Lean. If you are a male and enjoy a bit more from your breakfast I would ask for a piece of ciabatta as an extra. Great coffee, great service and a projected film on the wall to soak it all in.

I couldn't have started this page with anything other than a tribute to the fantastic @fourandtwentycafe - here is an all time favourite: the Four&Twenty "Dragon Roll". It was perfectly filling and satisfying but as usual I couldn't resist something sweet. Having eventually settled on their Granadilla Tart, I couldn't have left feeling happier or better taken care of.
I finally got the chance to have breakfast here and so glad I did. 5/5 for the service from the moment we stepped in. The waiter was friendly and knowledgable on all the menu items. I decided to have the granola ,it was tasty and well presented. My friend opted for a lunch option and had the fish cakes. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful morning dappled light enters this little gem through the trees from the park.
The aromas from the confectionary deli and superb coffee amps up the appetite.
The staff are exceptionally professional and purposeful in their task.
We dinned on the Eggs be lean, Aubergine mushroom with a perfect hollandaise topped with salmon. I don't think it gets better than this!
We also went "left of the dial" with a fried cider sausage on a polenta type base with kale and a spicy tomato reduction sauce! It was really rich and yummy, but the ingredient proportions where not in sync. Way too much relish is wasted! Understandably, it's a difficult dish to present.
The shop is really beautiful and bespoke.
I had high expectations and Four&Twenty didn't dissapoint! I "made my own" breakfast - a butter croissant with poached eggs and mushrooms. It was delicious and the mushrooms were cooked with a sweet vinegar which was really tasty. We had a reservation for 9am...arrived at 850am to a small crowd waiting outside and I wonder if this is the case every weekend so why don't they open a little earlier? Only gripe...It took almost 30minutes for our coffees to arrive. What a great quaint spot in Chelsea village with a really cool, quirky vibe. Loved it!
Great food, vibe and service. Eggs belicious is always a winner! The service is great and the waiters are always informed about the menu which is an added bonus.
The food here is delicious and beautifully presented. From the stylish take away bakery items at the front to the tasty breakfasts. Our waiter, Farai, was friendly polite and efficient. Sadly the closely packed eatery is on the squishy side rather than cosy and I found staff continually bumping into my chair. The glasses of water smelled strangely of egg. But on overall impression I would return especially to try their chocolatey iced mocha and decadent pastries.
Went to this lovely cafe for a quick brunch with a friend this morning and boy, what a treat! All the meals coming out of the kitchen looked spectacular. We couldnt decide what to get, so we got their vegetarian sandwich, made in a croissant, their shutupyourface dessert sandwich and the vegetarian scone with relish which I'd been eyeing out since we walked in.. we shared the three and every bite was such an adventure! Flavours were all perfectly balanced. Dessert wasn't overly sweet despite its traditional sickly-sweet ingredient list (marshmallow, caramel etc). Would definitely return to try more of the menu! They also have a fridge with some interesting cheese and some truffles (actual truffles!) For R120 which I'll certainly be going back for!
This is another one of my breakfast favourites in Cape Town. I love the decor - it is so pretty. The bakery is amazing - think Parisian style. The scones especially are a must try because they are like a cloud in your mouth as they are so soft and creamy. The eggs are also always done perfectly and the restaurant is in such a pretty quaint area.
The holy grail of breakfast spots in the south (in my opinion atleast) I went to high school nearby and we spent so much time at this little place a few years back it hasn't changed much - it's just much busier. Breakfast is to die for albeit a little pricey. The venue is quaint and I've never had a problem with service I just wish they were open earlier on weekends.
The best macadamia nut cheesecake! Really love this cafe - waiters are friendly and overall good service. I'd suggest making a reservation as it can get quite full (esp on weekends)
5/5 for the breakfast/lunch, always a great meal. Atmosphere is unbeatable. Abit discouraged after trying the tapas dinner, food was overpriced and was not the same standard as their breakfast/lunches.

The first time I came here I was disappointed that the name had nothing to do with the international marijuana day. However the food is magnificent and the layout and decor is stunning. You may at times feels as if you are on the set for a scene out of "desperate housewives" but none the less a great restaurant to visit! Especially for breakfast! Just be sure to have enough gossip to chat about while you're there ;)
Service basically non existent but delicious coffee, awesome cold pressed juices and fantastic breakfast. They definitely need to pick up the slack on the service though. Will go again
I can't believe I don't have a review of four & twenty having spent so much time exploring the menu. I will always have a soft spot for any place that serves an all day breakfast but NONE do it like this establishment. I strongly recommend the eggs belicious (with salmon or bacon) or the flapjacks. they also serve up a mean quinoa salad which goes great with a lemonade or pairing wine.
One of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town. Bit of a let down that you can't pre-book because the Saturday morning brunch queue can lead to a bit of a wait time if you are prepared (definitely worth the wait time in my opinion). The cheesecake is a must have, a take away must be done if you are too full after your meal to sit and enjoy it then and there.
Four and twenty is an amazing little spot in chelsea village run by two amazing women who clearly have passion and love for their food and business. Whether you are going for breakfast, lunch or popping in to grab an amazing pastry or cake from the counter, everything is outstanding. They also have a tapas evening running wed - friday. Situated in a really quaint little neighborhood, four & twenty is perfectly suited.
As you walk in you are immediately faced with a counter full of beautifully prepared cakes and tarts. The staff were very friendly and efficient, which helps a great deal seeing as how busy the little shop is. The decor is great, basic but comfortable with nice details everywhere.
The menu is small and a little convoluted. I found the breakfasts to be a little too rich for my taste. Also the hollandaise sauce was very sweet which compounded the problem. The menu does however allow for a"make your own breakfast" option which I will make use of on my next visit.

I love Four & Twenty so much that even though it's my favourite local space where sweet things are easily justified I never pause to photograph my favourite breakfast, Oriental Eggs Be Lean. Umami yummy.

Firstly, mention must be made of the beautiful interior of Four & Twenty, there has been such attention to detail that has been placed on creating just the right atmosphere - this attention to detail has been extended to the food, which has just the right balance of flavours.
We went with a group of friends for breakfast, I had the oriental eggs be lean (yum!!!) while my hubby had the pork belly baguette which was to die for.
Be sure to book for large groups as the store is always very busy.
Four & Twenty is such a great spot in Wynberg! Their menu is incredible. I recently tried their scone flapjacks and was super impressed - it was like having dessert for breakfast. Their calamari salad wasn't my fave. There was way too much sauce! (The table next to us were more prepared and ordered their sauce on the side).
The best thing about Four & Twenty is definitely the baked goods right at the front😍 Special mention goes to the cheesecake and the chocolate cookies which are amazing!
Side note: Last year I ordered a red velvet birthday cake from Four & Twenty which was just divine! The Four & Twenty team handled everything so well even on such short notice.

I drive past here every morning on my way to work and have been eagerly waiting to come try it out. They are very popular so I would suggest phoning ahead to be on the waiting list, especially on a Saturday morning.
I had a flat white to start off with, they serve Tribe coffee and to follow, the Eggs Be Lean. The aubergine, mushrooms and truffle rosti was very tasty and a spin from the usual bread. Served with poached eggs, crispy bacon and a yogurt hollandaise. A tad pricey, but portions are large and worth it. I also had a freshly squeezed orange, carrot and ginger juice, boost for the day.
The cafe is really cute with seperate sections and a small courtyard. There's loads of products from honey to toffees and baked goodies to purchase. I grabbed a gooye chocolate cookie to go. Even though they were full, service did not lack at all and I'm glad they are just around the corner.
As you walk in there is a counter full of mouth-watering pastries. This is patisserie heaven! This place is charming and elegant but still casual.
There is a nice buzz about the place. The space itself is homey with fresh pink roses on each table.
The menu is very enticing and has a fantastic selection of creative and tasty food. I opted for something totally different. The Silly Cider-Sausage Fry Up. It is a cider-poached pork sausage, topped with an egg served with a home-made tomato smoor, crispy cheesy fried kale and apple polenta. The crispy kale was absolutely delicious and you keep wanting more. The combination of flavours work and is a sensation to your tastebuds.
We sat near to the open kitchen and is not difficult to notice that the chef cares about high quality produce. This is definitely not your ordinary coffee shop!
What a cute, little place! We had a lovely lunch with a group of friends. The service was quick once we were seated with a great selection of delicious items. I would recommend calling and booking a table, since space is limited and it gets pretty full.

Four and Twenty is without a doubt one of the greatest breakfast spots in Cape Town. It's always busy and you usually have to wait before being seated, but it's well worth it.
Their menu items are so unique; there's literally nothing conventional on it.
Recently I shared the 'green eggs and ham' with a friend and it was absolutely incredible. We also tried a few of their deli delights such as the caramel cheesecake (baked cheesecake with macadamia nuts coated in caramel) which was phenomenal. The almond, rosewater and raspberry cupcake is so incredibly delicious and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. The hidden rosewater center is terrific.
The red velvet & raspberry cheesecake was good, but I've tasted something very similar at Velvet Cake Co.
My friend took the 'shut up your face' back with her and said it was amazing too.
As for the ambiance: it's cute, quaint and relaxed. It also makes for a great place to work on a laptop.
If you haven't been to F&T yet, you're most certainly missing out on a unique dining experience. Definitely an itinerary essential for non CPT locals too.
Four and Twenty café, a French-style bakery and café situated in Wynberg, has been one of my best discoveries. It is officially my favourite breakfast spot. I only visited the cafe on two occasions now and I have a strong feeling that number will increase during the course of the year. On both occasions, I was blown away by the beautifully presented food, ambiance and the service.
The first time I visited the café, I ordered the Eggs- Be-Lean (two free-range poached eggs on an aubergine, mushroom & truffle rosti with confit baby tomatoes and a light yogurt hollandaise). The eggs are poached perfectly, the rosti was crispy and the hollandaise brings everything together. The perfect balance of flavours!
What an absolutely amazing little find! The place was quite busy for a weekday. The decor was quaint and I loved it.
I went with my roommate for a late lunch. She ordered the pear, chicken and raspberry salad and it was absolutely delicious.
However the absolute highlight was the "Shutyourface" chocolate dessert cake I had. It was a tiny taste of heaven!
My wife and I came across this exquisite little eatery while browsing around Chelsea village. The decor is beautiful and the food was amazing. Good cappuccinos is always a useful barometer of the quality of a venue and we were not disappointed.
We ate in the courtyard on a beautiful day. The variety of breakfasts on offer is superb. We ordered the green eggs and ham and the baked apple warm breakfast. Both were delicious. Service was great and all round we were pleased by this little gem!

Four & Twenty is a gorgeous little cafe and always full and bustling.
I had the eggs be-licious which was tasty although it does take a little longer to make because of the rosti.
I've also tasted their muffins which are delicious although quite pricy for a muffin.
Their cake cabinet in the front of the restaurant lures you in and is so tempting and adds to the charm of the restaurant. Because it always so busy service is often slow and it can be difficult to catch your waitrons attention, but overall a lovely and cute little place.
This is a must go to if you're in the area. The eggs Benedict is life changing and the asian themed burger is heavenly. The vibe and decor are casual and french themed but cute and interesting too. The service is standard and good coffee to compliment it. All round great experience.
Gem of a place to go for breakfast or lunch but don't be in a hurry for your food! Menu is interesting and different as you're not going to be ordering run of the mill bacon and eggs. Great quality and a cosy quaint interior. Popular with locals and visitors alike with a small but pricey deli to browse.
I had high hopes for this brunch spot in Wynberg and I'm glad to say that my faith was not misplaced. The restaurant was packed so we waited on high stools for a table which took about 20 minutes (understandable for a popular restaurant).

I'd been hearing lots of rave reviews about this spot, and was NOT disappointed when I tried it out for breakfast. It took me several read-throughs of the menu and a discussion with the staff to just decide what to order, because everything looked amazing! Finally decides to try their "Green eggs and Ham", and am still thinking about it 4 days later... YUM! Will definitely be back!
Fantastic place for tea! Cakes are divine. Had the 'shutupyourface' chocolate - wow!!!! Cannot stop thinking about it. If you love chocolate - it's the one!Cheesecake the best in town! Tarts are awesome too! Friendly and great service. Never had a bad experience.
I LOVE this restaurant! Absolutely superb goodies from cheesecakes to cupcakes and crunchies 😍 then there are huge salads, crispy sandwiches, intriguing burgers, never mind the pies and tarts...!
There's a lovely outdoor area when it's sunny and in winter, there's a buzz of a coffeehouse. It's always busy and the popular dishes run out fast so go good and early if you can.

Cosy spot on a cold winters day! Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Coffee is good, and the breakfast selection was very interesting. Saw many eggs benedict leaving the kitchen counter, looked fabulous. I however, had flapjacks with almond butter, strawberries and guava's, with a dollop of marshmallow. The flapjacks were more like soft scones. Something different.
Really popular place for breakfast so you should try get there early! We sat in the courtyard and despite the crisp winter morning were kept warm with a heater and blankets. Had the eggs Benedict with bacon of which the Hollandaise sauce was excellent. Our waitress was also very helpful and it made for a treat of a breakfast.
Had a wonderful breakfast this morning, delicious eggs Benedict served on beautiful crockery and good service all round. One of the best brekkie spots in Cape Town. You get the perfectly assembled Eggs Belicious (Eggs Benedict) or the healthy carb-free version, Eggs Be-Lean amongst other great looking menu items at any time of the day. Perfect for late risers like myself.
This place is a spectacular treat. I love the unusual and unfailingly tasty breakfast combinations, and the quirky, authentic surrounds are delightful. The caramel and macadamia cheesecake is seriously good enough to kill for - as is the poached eggs breakfast dish with a hint of wasabi. Would recommend to anyone, any time.

In my opinion, this is one of the best maybe even the best brunch spot in Cape Town. I had Dr Seuss green eggs and ham, poached eggs on sour dough bread with bacon. What takes this dish to food heaven is the basil hollandaise sauce that is generously adorned over the eggs. If I wasn't in public I would easily have licked my plate clean. You can not leave four and twenty without a pastry or three in my case. My favorite has to be their shutupyourface, and that's exactly what is does, think biscuit topped with moist chocolate cake, then creamy mousse like filling, then topped with marshmallow and dipped in chocolate. Do yourself a favour and make the trip to Wynberg, it is well worth it!
Had my usual savory scone and the best coffee around. My husband had a cider poached sausage with egg and various additions. Please don't serve that apple polenta as it was oily, bland and even looked unpleasant. Similarly the kale and cheese was not great. But you are still my favorite coffee shop and your waiter Ferai is wonderful.

You have to try it in order to understand how they have taken the traditional eggs benedict and turned it into a work of art. It will tickle your taste buds like no other breakfast has ever. Cruising around Chelsea Wynberg Cape Town and came across this great cafe tucked away under the oak trees. It was packed inside. Everyone enjoying freshly roasted coffee and delicious eggs and bacon. Lekker plek for a chilled autumn breakfast.
Absolutely everything about this place is wonderful! I've been many times and have never been disappointed with the friendly service, the absolute creativity that is involved in every dish and the delicious food & coffee. Get there early though - usually before 9, the queue can take its time. PS The bran muffin is the best you'll EVER have.
A very busy coffee shop which can make it slightly difficult to get a table. Which I find to be unusual during the week. The service was slow to start but improved as we went on.
The meals were all pretty good, I had the poached eggs with a basil Benedict. The only part I didn't enjoy was mustard layer on the toast. It was too strong and detracted from the rest of the meal.
So I decided on a bit of a surprise and this place is amazing. We had breakfast and both meals were fantastic. The crispy kale is amazing. The eggs and bacon done perfectly. I enjoyed every mouthful.

The best breakfast place in Cape Town!! I love visiting four&twenty whether it's for a birthday celebration or just catching up with the girls. It's a small space, but they utilise it well and the staff are on the ball which means I've never had a waiting time longer than 20 minutes even during peak meal times. I'm not really an "egg-person" so I can't make any comment on their eggy items (poached egg etc) . They do cater for people like me though and I especially enjoyed having their Christmas themed French toast over December. The menu gets refreshed according to the season which is always a delightful surprise. I always consider this place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or takeaway baked goods when I'm in the area.

A homely atmosphere, delicious food that is beautifully presented, welcoming, friendly and attentive waitrons, crispy streaky yummy bacon, and lastly, that counter filled with delectable mouth watering treats that you just cannot resist. Those chewy chocolate cookies could put an end to world war.

This place is always a winner....friendly servers, delightful food , decadent cakes and there's nearly always a queue. Prices are in line with the upmarket area it finds itself in, however there's no skimping on quality ingredients and the fact that they use seasonal fruit and veg gets the thumbs up.
Another big plus is that it's literally around the corner from work, makes it ideal for a quick coffee or lunch. Popped in for breakfast and had the flapjacks, which I can assure you it's nothing you've had before. Could only finish half as it was a huge portion. Light and fluffy flapjacks with stewed apple and pear, nuts, berry compote and a healthy dollop of mascarpone cream. Heaven! A sublime cappucino accompanied my meal.
Don't forget the carrot cake and macadamia cheesecake on your way out.
A lovely restaurant - great ambiance and friendly staff. We had tea and cake. The cheesecake is recommended. The vanilla scone with jam and cream - I thought a bit pricey at R48 - but it was delicious. Tea would have been better if it was a Dilmah or Five Roses tea bag. Still a thoroughly enjoyable time and we bought extra cheesecake for the family at home.
I've frequented this delightful cafe numerous times and have never been disappointed. All of their food is expertly crafted and elegantly presented. Rumor has it that the chefs preparing these culinary masterpieces are Silwood trained and, after sampling their juicy burgers, sumptuous breakfasts or any one of their airy and light pastries, you'll surely agree. The servers are friendly and efficient and it is nearly always busy. Be sure to arrive early or be prepared to wait because the secret is out about this amazing Cape Town cafe and bakery!
I decided to entertain my family with a lovely breakfast in Wynberg. We were seated outside surrounded by lovely shrubbery and the sun gave a nice warm feeling to the restaurant. I decided to order the Eggs-BeLean and could not stop to talk as the meal had taken my attention, due to its lovely flavours. The meal did take a while to prepare as stated on the menu and it more than worth the wait. I will definitely be returning soon.
Great food, amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. You can sit outside, below , close to the bakery or even looking into their open plan kitchen, it's just very hot ! Not really sufficient air con. Decor is very cute. Not much on the menu for lactose intolerant clients but Definitely worth a visit. I will be back . the reason my score wasn't a 5 was because we went for lunch and by that time they had run out of so much stock :(

What a cute little restaurant! I've never been here before but I certainly had a good time even though we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table - it is Saturday morning after all! The Waitrons were very attentive and helpful and constantly checking on us even though the restaurant was packed. Get there earlier rather than later! I also love the almost antique feel of the restaurant and the Christmas decor stood out.
Food came quickly and was overall a tasty meal! I also like that you can make your own breakfast! Makes decisions a lot easier. Will most likely be going back but preferably at a less busy time!
At Four & Twenty your experience begins with having to fight off the masses to get a table. But always undoubtably worth the wait! The Eggs Belicious, is their scrummy version of Eggs Benedict paired with a Cappuccino is definitely how I would love to start my day everyday!
My first visit to Four & Twenty included me pigging out on the red velvet cake without sharing, it was just too divine too. The most moist and fresh red velvet I have had in Cape Town. After falling in love with the cake I visited quite a few times after but decided to try their savouries. The Chicken pie was delicious, a proper hearty meal that feeds your soul. I also tried their breakfast at lunch time which included heaps of bacon and scrambled egg, which I certainly didn't complain about as it it tasted great. The service at four & twenty can be slightly slow, but the staff are friendly and the food is awesome.
Gorgeous little coffee shop. Free and decent WiFi, lovely coffee, and a comfortable place to sink into a chair with a great book. If you feel so inclined, you wouldn't be amiss to order a piece of cake either.

Had a great breakie at Four&Twenty soothing the hangover away. It was incredibly full and the waiters kept bumping my chair as they walked past. I would have got up and left but I was so stuffed from delicious breakie i couldn't move. Bit of a catch 22
Met with a friendly smile and a full explanation of the pastries on offer... Checked my normal query without hesitation ... Was then seated and enjoyed one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time ... The service was knowledgable and super friendly and most importantly atmosphere is laid back (no one rushing us to leave) even though they super busy

This is such a lovely little place in a very picturesque part of Wynberg! They have great coffee (as long as you're prepared to wait for it) and their food is fantastic! They have so many different options to choose from and they all look so yummy! I had the Breakfast Sumptuous with a poached egg, smashed avo, caramelized onions, Danish feta and a balsamic glaze. Their beer batter, apple and bacon flapjacks have made me question every other breakfast food- they're honestly that good. The venue is a little small and always busy so make sure you get there early. I also strongly suggest getting a few take away choc chip cookies. So Yum!

What a cute little gem! Came here for some Sunday afternoon treats and it was less than an hour before closing. I had the cookies and milk because I have been dreaming about them since seeing reviews on zomato. The cookie was delicious and the perfect amount of chocolately-ness. Beautiful texture - chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The vanilla milk was refreshing on this weirdly hot CPT day and I wished there was more in that little glass bottle. My husband ordered the vanilla scone and cappuccino which I had to taste. Both were on point. I like a milder cappuccino so this was right up my alley. The famous cheesecake was sold out so will have to return for that and my only regret is not visiting sooner!
Visited Four & Twenty for a good old girls catch up on a Saturday afternoon. Having heard so many good things about the establishment we were keen to give it a try. My friend had the vanilla bean scone and I tried the Pink lady apple tart. Presentation was great and the taste even better! I ordered a chewy double chocolate cookie for take away and can honestly say it's one of the best I've had. Their dark hot chocolate is a winner too. Service was good! Will definitely go back to sample their other goodies.

My first time at Four & Twenty, and was pleased with the beautiful hidden gem of a restaurant. I had heard much about it and could not wait any longer to try it. For brekkie I had the green eggs and ham, which consisted of toast, two poached eggs, two slices of cooked ham and a basil hollandaise sauce. Although delicious, the cafe is on the pricier side and the portions not that big. I still however enjoyed the brekkie, and will definitely go again!Olivia Haarburger
Looking for a cute place to catch up with friends? Four & Twenty is the perfect place to go! I tried out the baked cheese cake and pain au chocolat - delicious! A good place for breakfast as well. What I loved the most was the set up - made it so much more enjoyable.
The first thing you see when you walk into Four & Twenty is loads of delicious, fantastic looking baked goodies! These tempting delights always make me want to get some takeaway treats for later. The food here is great and beautifully presented. The granola with white chocolate is a bit sweet for my taste but the beer battered flapjacks are amazing. It can be a bit pricey for brekkie but is definitely worth it.
My parents made their annual visit to us in June and the plan for the day was that Dave and my dad would go to the motor racing, and my mom and I would go for lunch. My mom had read about Four And Twenty and so we decided to make our way to the Southern Suburbs. It was pouring with rain, and given the amount of water on the ground, Dave reckoned the racing would not be fun and so he decided all 4 of us would go for lunch. We managed to find parking quite easily in the road and luckily for us there was a table available. They do not take reservations on Saturdays and I was told when I called that they are full from breakfast time, but a table of 2 should not be a problem.
Beer battered flapjacks with bacon and so much goodness is the best thing ever on Four & Twenty's menu. Definitely the best take on bacon and flapjacks I have ever had. The portion is generous so you can definitely share. Another favourite of mine is the chocolate chip cookie. They get pretty busy so get there early or make a reservation
I went there for brunch today. The food was FABULOUS! It was absolutely delicious and the portion was definitely worth the price. The hostess and waitress were friendly and warm. It was rather packed, but that's always a good sign.

I was not disappointed. A bit annoying that you can't book though if you are a table of less than 6 but that's how they maximise table turnover so it is understandable.
The food is awesome, fresh, local and really tasty. We had lunch but I will go back for breakfast. The pork belly baguette is good but order envy once again struck as I tasted and saw the Bangkok burger. What a winner.
Desert was a slice of cheesecake with carameland roasted macadamia nuts. Also tried the Apple tart with raspberries and ginger. Both were great.
Beautiful little restaurant/coffee shop. There was a waiting list of about 30 minutes for a table, but it was well worth it! The Eggs Be-Lean with Smoked Salmon Trout is a MUST! And although I didn't dive into their pastries & desserts this time, I will definitely be back for the Salted Caramel Popcorn Cupcakes! 😆
I always love having breakfast at Four & Twenty, their menu is exceptional and the food lives up to it's foodie reputation. The Eggs Oriental, Eggs Be-Lean or Bangkok Burger are always a winner but may be sold out if you arrive late. We always order the granola to share before our main dishes; it's divine and the recipe often changes. I have found the Salmon Sandwich to be good but overpriced. Of course, the tasty patisserie treats are a must if you have space after your main.
Very good food, great service, great decor and perfect for anyday breakfast or lunch. It is a bit small and you might feel cramped when inside. Sitting outside on a sunny afternoon definitely makes for a great meal
This is literally my favourite restaurant right now. Their menu is different and their food is spectacular. Go here if you want something unique and tasty. Usually great service and the ambience is awesome.

This place is such a gem! A friend of mine, on a particularly dreary morning, kidnapped me and said we were going somewhere new. After grumbling about our journey to the suburbs, I walked into Four & Twenty and was instantly delighted. It's so cute! And great! And adorable! I sort of feel like I'm in some fantastic cafe in Paris, overlooking the Seine. Great environment. Also really decent food - I had a fantastic salmon trout sandwich that the kitchen made specially for me (because I'm clearly the worst). They were so accommodating and lovely. The staff really wants you to have the best possible experience and I did!
The pros: The food, the people, the place.
The cons: It's so far...I would be there all the time if it was just a little closer! Or close to my work! Or house! Or dentist!
I've been here many times for breakfast and afternoon tea and not once have I been disappointed. The service is amazing and you are made to feel so welcome. My favourites are the eggs belicious and the baked eggs and for a sweet treat, you can never go wrong with the baked cheesecake, it's to die for!
Arguably the best breakfast i have had in Cape Town to date! Try the eggs belicious with bacon or salmon and the freshly baked scones with home-made blueberry jam. Scrumptious! ☺ they are always super busy but the wait is worth it if you're not so lucky to get a table immediately. 👍
Always busy, but always worth the wait! Quaint, personal, light and unpretentious. Delicious granola, flapjacks, cookies, and and and... Everything on their menu is moreish, and I just can't get enough! Also, their food is incredibly photogenic!
This place is so busy you need not to be in a hurry. The sandwiches, cakes and gluten free,almond tart are amazing, Coffee is 4/5... so sit down and enjoy the Chelsea atmosphere. Service is friendly and window seat is perfect for waiting for your takeaway. I have not eaten in as there always seems to be loads of large ladies tea events going on for my liking - no disrespect to the ladies what tea, of course.
A favourite spot for me, I just can't decide whether for breakfast or lunch!? Both are so good I don't think I can. It can be slightly pricey but it's only because the quality of the food is so high, and you get a fantastic quantity. This is not one of those places that serves you 1.5 to 2 pieces of bacon on your eggs benny, no, you get a considerate amount! The fish cakes at lunchtime are dreamy, with their three different sauces and the warm calamari salad is also a winner.
Definitely one of the cutest little restaurants I've been to. I've heard so much about it from my friends and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint.

The service was good but the food took a little longer to be served and one of my friend's order was not prepared according to her preferences.

I've waited a long time to finally experience Four & Twenty's breakfasts and it was well worth the wait! Whilst certainly not cheap, the entire experience (food, atmosphere and service) was superb. I will definitely return in the hope of beating the queues!
What can I say....sublime... Great ambience...exceptional service...oriental le bean is to die for and the scones are sinful... A must visit.
Beautiful layout. Young chefs pay beautiful attention to detail. The food is delicious and the dessert mouthwatering. The fish cakes I had were a bit too crusty on the outside, so perhaps those could be cooked a bit less. Otherwise, I had a superb experience and would definitely go back.
The cheesecake here is so good I have it for breakfast, after I've had my real breakfast. Their Benedict is really good, and they have great coffee too.
Went for a friends birthday and the ambience was really nice. Very cutely decorated. Went there for breakfast and the food was so tasty. Can't wait to go there again.

This place is an absolute cracker. Everything from their breakfast to their delicious array of cakes will make your tummy so happy you'll leave planning when you can come back again.
Personal favorites for breakfast are the eggs be lean or the bacon and smashed avo on toast - which goes from simple to amazing with perfectly crispy bacon. They have tummy teas and their coffee is a treat too.
For lunch, you can't really go wrong. I had an amazing prawn salad - there was some mango involved and a sprinkling of Thai inspiration and it was incredible.
If you go, make sure you leave room for their cheesecake. If they have the one topped with macadamia nuts and salted caramel - order one to take away because you'll be dreaming of it for days.
The best breakfast restaurant in Cape Town, hands down. Definitely order something with bacon. As well as something from the pastry section!

What a fantastic place! Everything from the detailed, exciting menu to the interesting decor make the experience a treat. The calamari salad is outstanding. If you have the stamina, the cakes are phenomenal too.
My husband and I didn't book, as it was a last minute decision to go for breakfast on a Sunday. Breakfast turned into lunch, only because we waiting about 70 minutes to get a table. The restaurant is super popular, in the trendy Chelsea Village and bookings are only allowed on a Sunday for 6 people or more. It was WELL worth the wait though! Stunning 'home-like' ambiance, and beautiful pastries and cakes everywhere... delicious! We first ordered the roasted white choc, strawberry and honeyed brazil nut granola to share, which was filling and fantastic. I then had the Eggs be lean with smoked Salmon, and it was one of the best dishes i have had for breakfast/brunch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We sat outside, and although cold because its winter, they do provide blankets. Beautiful place, beautiful cakes.

Love love love four & twenty! There scones for tea and fish cakes for lunch are definitely one of the best I've had. I don't even want to start on the freshly baked pastries and cakes, yummmm! The challenge is trying to get a table as they are always full but the effort is worth it. Parking is safe which is an added bonus for the area. If you are looking for a spot to catch up with the girls or go for brekkie with the family, this gem will do the trick.
What a vibe. Such delicious food and friendly service. Although our waiter was a bit forgetful, it didn't take away from the experience. I had the breakfast which was beer batter flapjacks, you have to get there early or all their good stuff is sold out but I will definitely be back I am dying to try their baked eggs! They also have a great range of teas and baked goods. The chewy chocolate cookie is a must try

This is a very cool cafe with delicious food everywhere you look. I was treated to one of the best cupcakes I have ever had. It had some sort of gooey filling that blew my mind. Normally I would just shove a cupcake into my mouth with not much fanfare. This delectable confection was slowly savoured. Ambience is also very cool.

Was looking for somewhere new to go on the Zomato app ( another great reason to download this awesome app ) and this gem popped up. What a gem it is. Great, friendly staff. It took me far too long to get here and now I just want to go back! The eggs and salmon are perfect, and the coffee is SO good. Everything is served beautifully and I was impressed by how well our waiters looked after our table of 20 on a busy Saturday morning. Also, you won't be able to leave without picking up a few goodies for a take away.

I had the Oriental Eggs Be-lean, which was absolutely delicious, although I must say it could do with a slice of ciabatta, especially to mop up all that delicious sauce. Such a charming place. I often need to drive to this side of the World for work and love stopping at four & twenty on its winding little street, flower sellers outside, window display of fresh cakes, cozy atmosphere, trained staff, yummy food and pretty feminine decor. Their sandwiches and salads are delightful - always fresh produce, always well presented. Perfect for a girly lunch or mom-daughter tea catch up. Great place to work from out of the rain... Their tea and cake is a wonderful excuse to skip lunch. Love the bathroom :)
Absolutely loved the breakfast! A family favourite! The eggs Benedict is my personal favourite but the family adore the about scrumptious. Took croissants as take away and there is just so much to choose from.
I'm pretty sure I've found my new favorite breakfast spot. In my opinion, this is the perfect little cafe for everyone. I have now been twice in the space of a week and the high quality of their dishes did not waver. My personal favourite is the Eggs Belicious- which really are unbelievably delicious. Make sure you're willing to wait a little while for a table on the busy days (this happened to me on a Sunday morning) since they don't take bookings and walk-ins come first. Nevertheless, the food completely made up for the wait and I shall be back soon!
We dropped in after a recommendation from a friend. I didn't know what to expect but boy, was it good. Would highly recommend for a good hearty breakfast in cape town. Clearly a local favourite judging from how busy it was and the waiting list ;) Would particularly recommend the Oriental breakfast option. Service was very attentive and friendly.
Went here for Sunday brunch and it was amazing! The poached eggs were perfect and so was the hot chocolate. We had a big table and the service was still great! Will definitely be back

The cafe serving both classic and the not so classic breakfast is beautifully complimented by the artful pantry, filled with delicate pastries and hand-crafted confectionery.
The difficulty of their menu is that all options are mouth watering. After much deliberation for something that is out of this world try their Eggs Be-Lean (R72); the Mushroom and Truffle Rosti that the free range Poached Eggs rest on is transcendent. The salty, sweet, sour and bitter elements work harmoniously to create magic in your mouth. Alternatively the Oriental Eggs Be-Lean (R88) is an Umami inspired masterpiece which will leave you wanting to lick the plate.
Breakfast aside, their carefully wielded and world flavoured lunch menu ranges from sandwiches, salads and hearty mains. The Bangkok Burger (R105) made with shredded, salty and sticky pork neck balanced by the fresh julienne cucumber. It is accompanied by exquisite prawn toast fries and creamy, addictive Shitake ketchup.
The Summer Quinoa Salad (R85) with Crispy Pancetta Pieces (R106) is a zesty, fluffy and lighter lunch option; jam packed with goodness. Another light meal option is the Fish Cakes With Trio of Sauces (R90).
Wash it down with a fresh raspberry and mint cocktail or a cold, crispy white from their wine list.
To round off the meal indulge in a delight from their pantry. Their huge, chunky chocolate cookies are moreish, the macadamia crowned baked cheesecake a crowd pleaser. However the chocolate tart is a standing ovation.
Their work of culinary art is what makes me proud to be a South African.
Been there for both breakfast and lunch now. I can honestly say that this is one of the best small restaurants in Cape Town. Delicious food and great service made it a great experience.
This has to be one of the greatest savory, pastry and all round epic eateries in Cape Town. Their breakfasts are mind blowing and if you love a pastry, you'll get weak at the knees! Trust me, this is the place I would take any potential business deal to close the deal! It's a winner!!!

Best eggs benedict I have ever had in my life, and I have had many. The crispiest bacon and perfectly poached eggs on top of toasted ciabatta, covered in amazing hollandaise sauce. Too good. The food was so good that I decided to have a dessert after my breakfast - double chocolate chewy cookie with vanilla milk. Mind-blowing really.

Incredible service. We had a large table with all different orders and the waitress got it all right without writing anything down - was very impressive. She was also friendly which is always great.
AMBIANCEReally beautiful and homey interior with the restaurant being inside a home. I loved the bright fuchsias and lime greens of some of the interior elements like the chairs or cushions. It really made for a happy interior.
Oh my goodness!! Where to start... This place is incredible. Had the bacon and boerenkaas scones, haven't had something so tasty in a long time. About to something sweet. Everything just looks so delicious and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. My new favourite place. Love love love

They always have stunning cakes and it's always bustling - so not for you if you want a boring quiet lunch!
Lovely place. Slightly ruined by a feral child left to scream around the place at will. Glad to say another mother went up and had a word with them. Food was delicious. We sat outside and had a lovely time otherwise. I can't say it was exactly their fault, but there was a massive massive rat that made a guest appearance while I was having a little snack. Life has rats in it... but I got quite a skrik I must say.
Didn't put me off though.
Finally made it for breakfast and we weren't disappointed.
I loved the eclectic menu - a few classics but so many things that I have never encountered in another restaurant. The coffee is good and the breakfast was yummy. The service was a bit slow but I'd say it was worth the wait - also if we didn't have three kids with us we probably wouldn't have noticed the time it took.

It's exciting and different and clever. I had the oriental eggs be-lean: sesame-crusted bacon, wild mushrooms, indonesian umame hollondaise and soft poached eggs, buttered edamame beans. Just glorious.
Downsides: not the best coffee beans (why the dark roast why), and very noisy. I found myself nodding at things just because lips were moving. But then I lost myself in the eggs, and much was forgiven.
Get there early. I mean: as-they-open early. First to get a table. Second to hear your breakfast companion shout.
Without doubt a hidden gem in the Southern Suburbs. Attention to detail is ridiculously good and everything is fresh and amazingly presented. One of my favourite restaurants around.

Beautiful setting and really yummy food, I wish you could make a reservation cause they always full. I do find it expensive and don't go often and wouldn't go regularly because of it. This really is an exceptionally lovely café, but as a result it is totally overrun on weekends. If, like me, you are averse to queues and frantic waiters, rather try and visit during the week.
Amazing lunch at Four and Twenty! Uniquely delicious food, friendly staff and lovely French Cafe vibe. Definitely going to become a regular! Only small criticism would be that the calamari salad was quite expensive for what it was but the Bangkok burger was out of this world and worth every penny. We had the vanilla cheesecake with caramel sauce and macadamia nuts for desert, to die for!!
I absolutely love this little gem of a place - delicious food in generous portions, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. I had the nectarine and fior de latte bruschetta (a surprising but very yummy flavour combination) and have add the eggs benedict before which is also perfect. Cannot wait to go back - I am dying to try the vanilla and peach pancakes!
UPDATE: Went back and had the Eggs-Be Lean, with friends who had the Eggs Be-Licious and the Umami eggs. Smiling faces and happy tummies round the table. Great service!

I love this place so much! There's already a queue starting before 9 am on weekends, but it's well worth the effort to get there in time. It's cosy and the decor is very pretty. Most importantly their food is delicious! Once I eventually choose what to order, I have food envy of every plate going past. When my meal arrives it's always absolutely divine, and the portions are generous. A lovely place for a special breakfast :)
I heard about this place viathe buzz around town and decided to try it out for breakfast. My absolute FAVOURITE is their poached eggs on the brinjal and mushroom rosti. Soooo good!

A really good choice for a girl's lunch or tea. The cakes and scones are outstanding. They have a good selection of 'proper' food too- all made with love and good-quality, fresh ingredients. The restaurant is as cute as the rest of Chelsea village. The little outside courtyard is lovely in summer. I would recommend going in a small group as the restaurant and tables aren't big. I haven't had breakfast at four and twenty yet, but my friends who have all recommend it.
Can you believe it took us our entire meal to figure out that the restaurant's name comes from the nursery rhyme?! Our idiocy aside, Four & Twenty knocks it out of the park! Succulent pastries, efficient and friendly service and a humming atmosphere. For us, it is definitely worth the trip round the mountain to the Southern Suburbs.

My boyfriend and I took a chance going here while driving past yesterday. The best decision we could have made!! Although their kitchen closes a little earlier than what the cafe does, the range of teas, coffees and cakes make up for that! Our waitress was so friendly and the decor makes you feel so warm and inviting. A definite must!!
On a rainy Sunday morning I decided to visit Four & Twenty in Wynberg.
The available portion of the restaurant/cafe wasn't very big due to a private function being hosted that morning. But never the less we snatched the very last window/bar style seat that was available in the cosy, light and intimate restaurant.
I ordered the vanilla bean scones with vanilla Chantilly cream and home made strawberry jam which was absolutely devine! I must say, the best by far... I'm salivating just thinking about it.
My partner in crime had the breakfast tartine - which is a generous slice of brioche toast slathered with truffle butter and topped with Brie, porcini mushrooms and a poached egg. The verdict... After a dash of tobasco sauce, it was #perfect.
I highly recommend Four & Twenty for a cosy intimate breakfast. Cold, rainy weather only makes it better.

My girlfriend invited me to Four & Twenty for a girly catch-up, and I can say with total certainty that it is one of the BEST places for that sort of meet-up. A delightful Parisian feel, with gorgeous colours and textures in the decor, rich and opulent furniture, huge bunches of beautiful fresh roses everywhere, and professional and friendly waitrons.
While my friend had the poached pear and chicken salad (which looked amazing), I opted for the French Toast... which comprised orange and pistachio sourdough French Toast, served with homemade lemon curd, mascarpone and caramelised pears. It was mind-blowing. Wonderfully plated on embossed white crockery, with a light sprinkling of icing sugar and pretty pink rose petals delicately scattered around the plate. It was almost too beautiful to eat... almost. Absolutely and incredibly delicious. I could have had another three plates of it.
We decided we couldn't leave without trying one of the cakes Four & Twenty has made themselves so famous for. We went for the red velvet mini cake, which is three circular layers of cake pulled together with delicious pink Turkish Delight-flavoured icing. Insane.
I would recommend this for girlfriends, moms and daughters, and bookclub catch-ups!
I had the chicken stack and it was just brilliant. So unique too- I’ve never seen that on a menu and we eat out most meals. (The only thing I can fault is too much of a good thing!)
The burger is huge and juicy & tasty.
The scones are delicious - we had it with lemon curd and vanilla cream (with real vanilla). They are light and fluffy.
I have been coming to Four & Twenty for years, and I have always had a tremendous experience! Love the venue in Chelsea Wynberg.
It does get busy though, and no wonder, the food is absolutely delicious, and the pastries are Devine!

Delicious tea treats and wonderful space for a mid morning weekday visit. Very high quality food with professional chefs and attention to detail.
Went with friends for a year end gathering. Was very busy, so do book in advance. My fruit yoghurt bowl was absolutely delicious, but the three other dishes were not quite up to our expectations. They were quite plain and the display of the dishes did not reflect the prices on the bill that well. A little disappointed for that, but good otherwise.

Superb coffee, best muffins in Cape Town (but you have to get there early because they are the first thing to sell out), and wonderful staff.
I visited this cozy cafe on a rainy afternoon and I really enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive and courteous, and the coffee was delicious. I ordered a cappuccino and a chocolate muffin, and they were both fresh and satisfying. The cafe had accessible parking and comfortable seats. I enjoyed my time there and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and cozy place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack.
