Review Byblos Trading Co - Woodstock

Lovely! I almost didn't find this place as it was hidden away! I was in Cape Town on holiday and specially took some time to visit Byblos. I had the Ethiopian apple tea and Baklava here and must say the staff was brilliant! I love this place, the decor, board games and music. It's idyllic and very "ancient in the modern world". Absolutely recommended this spot!

Wow! Lovely and very interesting aesthetic and decor in an unexpected location. A true gem in amongst very interesting sights and places of interest. .reclaimed from historical factories of many decades old. A not to be missed location. Satisfy your curiosity and visit these friendly hosts.

Owner Mikhael Bou Rjeily has created a truly unique spot in Cape Town that allows you to not only enjoy a variety of delicious coffees and beverages, but to also learn and experience a culture you would otherwise have to hop on a plane to come into contact with. His passion for coffee echoes in the walls of the cafe and add that extra bit of magic to an already stellar offering. Highly recommended.

Great coffee, lovely eats and authentic setup. Definitely worth pausing the shopping for a cuppa at this joint and certainly better quality than some of the mainstream stores on the main road nearby

Byblos just does coffee right. And their food. Even something as simple as a chicken toastie is full of traditional Lebanese flavours. Sorry, no pictures, I’ve eaten it already.

a lovely, eclectic pit stop when all that shopping gets too much, darling! The toasted sandwiches, Turkish coffee & baklava is fabulous.

My partner and I visited Byblos Trading Co. after finding out that it was one of the best coffee shops to visit in Cape Town and for the most part, we weren't disappointed! The actual coffee shop was rather hidden in the Palms Shopping Centre so you have to do a bit of looking around before you find it. The shop itself is really quaint although it doesn't have any natural lighting which was a bit of a let down for me. My partner and I ordered the Turkish Coffee which came highly recommended by the barista. When you order Turkish Coffee, you can either order it for two people or for four, and it comes with some baklava to share. We were awestruck as we watched the barista prepare the coffee, it was quite a sight to see and tasted really really good! The baklava was not prepared in-house, but rather came from a package of assorted pastries and biscuits. The shop was selling these assorted pastries and biscuits along with other products like Turkish tea, chickpeas, falafel mix, ground coffee, and ceramics made by a local artist as well. All in all, I was slightly disappointed by the baklava but the coffee itself and the friendly barista definitely made up for it. My partner has already decided that we are going back for more Turkish Coffee.

Came to see the market at the Palms Center and decided to pop in for coffee. Had an amazing hazelnut latte. Perfectly brewed coffee and velvety microfoam. What a win.

I love experiencing different cultures and recently visited ByBlos Trading Co. They specialize in Mediterranean coffee.

What an amazing coffee culture experience. It felt like I was sitting in a coffee shop somewhere in Turkey. At first, the coffee was too rich for my palette, but as I continued drinking it (One cannot waste coffee), I started savoring the rich spicy flavour and aromas. Both my partner and I enjoyed our experience and cannot wait to go back for more!

Gorgeous place this...you know i love my coffee and Byblos Trading Co is one of a kind. Mikhael, the owner and who comes from Lebanon is passionate about coffee and has trained over 1300 locals in the fine art of coffee-making.

I had the Isabella (named after his daughter) blend which was really good with a lovely aroma. There's a small deli with imported spices, olives, and locally made baklawa and other Lebanese treats on sale. I grabbed a couple of these trays of cookies and got another two free on the Entertainer voucher- good deal indeed. Situated on the outskirts of Palms Centre, they will soon be moving inside to the main centre. A must for coffee lovers.

Love the decor at Byblos! Super cute and welcoming. I didn't try the coffee (I'd already had far too much by the time I visited) but I did try all the sweet treats. And I mean ALL of them. Their baklava-type goodies are soooo good, and reminded me of the ones I'd had in Dubai. Crisp, sweet and homemade-y. Mmmm. I'll be back for their coffee, which I've heard great things about.

The shop is very small but with good ambience. It lack some food stuff. The baklava is sample size and a bit of a disappointment. The whole process of watching how the Turkish coffee was made was good and interesting. The coffee tasted good.

What an amazing little gem of a spot. Great coffee and a great atmosphere. One of my favorite spots in Cape Town to grab a quick cup of coffee

This gem tucked away in The Palms, Woodstock is definitely worth a visit. The coffee was amazing and it was extremely difficult not to order a 2nd cup as soon as my first was done. The decor is authentic and has a lovely Mediterranean feel to it. Well worth a visit.
