Review Espresso Lab Microroaster - Woodstock

Nice and tasty coffee variations! The shop is designed like a lab and it matches perfect with the coffee. But the ambient feels cold. Tastes interesting. Staff was in good mood. We had a nice stay here.

One of my favourite slick and modern coffee shops in the Old Biscuit Mill. I love the modern clean line contrast against the coffee bags and the architecture of the building and seating outdoors.

Best coffee beans EVER! I have tried a lof of coffee in my life and boy oh boy do they take the cake! I enjoy my coffee having a fruity aroma and theirs is the best I've had to far! 10/10 highly recommend when looking for coffee beans with an exceptional taste!

Clinical and nice experiance, I love the clean lines the efficiency and had to come here (Seems the trendy place to go) only because there was a power outage at their outlet in the food court and they directed us here. Well worth the referral.

Espresso lab is an absolute favorite of mine! Have been coming here for the past few years and have always received the best service and the most incredible coffee! Usually order their cold brew (WHICH IS NEXT LEVEL), but got a V60 pour over today! Was unreal as per usual and always great to see the friendly baristas and enjoy their incredible coffee!

Fabulous experience for the whole family. The baristas are amazing hosts and I mean hosts: they greet each customer and come out from behind the bar to make personal suggestions. The decor is clean and bright. We loved the very geek chic menu with the table of elements feel. The carascara syrup with soda was a nice surprise and one daughter loved the Yuzu drink. Latte was smooth and my V60 pour over was an experience with beaker, timer and all. We loved it

Great coffee. Me and my friend ordered hot latte and ice latte and we both loved the coffee. They roast coffee bean and they blend 3 different kinds of beans for coffee. They have cute dog and good vibe with kind staffs. And we could bring some bakeries from the shop which is next door, and had coffee with them. The only thing I was not satisfied is no wifi. But I used wifi from the bakery shop(they let us to use and even came to pick up the plate).

A great place with great coffee, situated in a vibey area. The coffee here is unique and very different, not your "normal" cup of coffee. Very interesting and untraditional (in a good way) coffee.

Serious coffees and interesting coffee based drinks for the coffee lover. No nonsense and efficient service from friendly staff. An ideal way to start your visit to the Old Biscuit Mill Market on a Saturday morning.

Stopped to have a coffee as it was recommended by a friend. What can I say, friendly staff, good service and excellent coffee. Will definitely be back!

Best coffee on the continent and perhaps the best service too! Freshly brewed on-site too. I love the Pico and Cascara Fizz but the Cortado is the pièce de résistance!

This place is a hidden gem
Utopia of coffee lovers
The atmosphere which resembles coffee itself , simple , positive , energetic and flavourful.
The menu is attractive and every cup is made with passion and precision.
You can make this place your daily habit easily .

The best coffee in cape town.

If you really enjoy your coffee you will love this place.

Their vitamin c shot is one of the best coffee-based drinks around too.

Probably my favourite speciality coffee roasters in the country.
They treat coffee like a science and it's evident in not only the decor of the cafe but in the quality of the coffee.
My favourite bean is the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. It's quite complex and floral yet almost tea like.
I had a cortado and a flat white, both of which were incredible.
Their beans are also great for home brewing on something like a V60/Chemex.

Perfect spot for grap and go. The coffee is strong, great and def from good quality beans. The roasters are on site and the shop is very small and to my liking to clinical so i prefer not to sit down and have my coffee here.

Absolutely Excellent! Clean, neat , efficient , friendly skilled staff and excellent coffee! They really know the difference between a flat white and a cappuccino! It's a little expensive for the roasters being in house !

Wow! What a fantastic and usual experience we had here today. We asked for something completely different so the barista suggested the 'vitiman c flu shot' which consisted of a shot of espresso, raw honey, and ginger & lemon. It was such a peculiar taste - similar to Truth Coffee's 'Sunrise Espresso', but a lot more arresting and aromatic. The decor inside is also very unusual. It's all chemistry themed, from the conical flask vases to the periodic table menu. Loved all of it. Will definitely be back.

I loved my visit to the espresso lab. The well trained baristas really make the entire experience making you feel relaxed and at home. They're also highly knowledgable on all things coffee which makes you really appreciate the cuppa-joe you're enjoying. Keep it up and thanks a latte!

Amazing clean white space, which fits the name being a lab.

Amazing service, friendly baristas.

Incredible menu, creative and connoisseur coffee, as if the whole experience is precisely designed on a micro scale.

Definitely recommend it.

This is THE best coffe shop! Friendly service and nice clean shop. If you are a coffee gig you need to visit here. Atmosphere is great. The coffee is excellent, prepared by the best barristas.

Espresso Lab Microroasters is one of the best cafes I've ever attended. It's very small - there isn't much sitting room at all, and I get the feeling it's used mostly by the people that work at the Old Biscuit Mill, or maybe people who get takeaway coffees. It is pristine - everything is tiled and monochrome, and it really does feel a lot like a lab!

The barista, Chibasa (hope I spelled that correctly) suggested I start with an espresso, which uses their Costa Rican blend. It tasted warm and slighty spicy, even bordering on savoury, but not bitter at all - no sugar required!

Next up was a cappuccino... sweeter, with a more summery, vanilla flavour. Chibasa knows his stuff, made absolutely delicious brews, and was more than happy to sit and chat to me about his thoughts on the coffee industry.

One word of caution: the name of the place starts with 'Espresso'... they literally only serve coffee. Nothing else, not even tea. So if you're not in it for the coffee, then don't stop by here. But, if you are after some java, this is the place to be!
