Review Jamaica Me Crazy - Woodstock

Andrew Baird
Very nice place... have not been since the mid2000's and it still ROCKS! Great service even when busy, drinks and food came out quick and were delicious. Awesome trip down memory lane.

Jamaica Me Crazy is the best restaurants/bar in the hood. The staff is very nice and makes you feel at home. You can drink, eat in a raggae vibe. I like to bring my students to this place. Food is excellent. Give a try to their pizzas. They are absolutely delicious. Tips: my favourite is the Ya Man Pizza. You have some food available as well during the load shedding. (So don't worry, be happy) I was already here in February and March, so I have built lots of memories in this place. I highly recommend it. The place to be crazy. B.J

Chilled vibes, great cocktails, delicious food. The happy hour is fantastic. R35 Hurricanes are a dangerous pleasure. The nachos are delicious. Haven't tried any of the other food yet. Some of the friendliest staff. They remember a face and give the place a very family vibe that makes going here a whole experience instead of just a night out. I return here again and again for that perfect afterwork drink and snack.

Had a super chilled time. Food was unique and really enjoyable.. lots of fun

It is definitely a 'Jamaica me Crazy'. I love the food and customer service. 👌

We want for takeaways , we were a bit confused at the beginning, they share entrance with another establishment ,maybe we missed the signs or it's not that clear, but we ended up at the lower restaurant.. Still the JamaicaMeCrazy is very vibrant, good place to have few drinks and snacks/food. I enjoyed my Trinchado with Cuban flat bread, and the pizzass were good, even the leftover slices next day we enjoyed as a snack. We recommend it as something new ,and to support local non franchise ..

Always my favorite Happy Hour spot. Great drinks and amazing food with the best service to match!

My mother, wife and I traveled from Miami Fl to visit Cape Town and we found this amazing place. I ordered the Steak plate with veggie, my wife had the jambalaya and my mom had the lamb with salad and Cuban flatbread. We looked on as this amazing staff and chef prepared our meals while drinking Fokof beer and strawberry daiquiri’s. We were not disappointed and strongly recommended this lively restaurant for your next trip to Cape Town. Thanks again Chef Vos and staff for making our night a memorable experience!

This place reminded me so much of Cool Runnings bar in Town. It's small; cute with beautiful artwork on the walls. The service is amazing and the drink prices blew me away; they are affordable and the drink taste amazing. I loved how cozy it was

Great place for a light meal and cocktails or beers. Pizzas are thin based with a Carribean twist on the toppings. Service makes you feel part of the community and seems to be a very trendy place in the evenings.

Happy Hour specials are bound to leave any one smiling Absolutely my favorite spot to be on a sunny Sunday afternoon or even after work in the week. Their pizzas were also delicious and Crispy. The menu is extremely well priced and lots of veriaty. Would highly recommend this spot in winter and summer 👌

The food and drinks was really nice. The pizzas are mouthwatering 😋. The service is up to standard with staff continuously checking up if you anything else. It situated in a great place on the side of the mountain with good sunset

JAMAICA ME CRAZY..... Let me start with saying I'm from JHB Well I first found this place over 3 years ago and loved it. I hunted for it about 2 months ago but couldn't remember the name or location so it was like finding a needle in a haystack. So today I searched my Uber history and found where I had stayed 3 years ago and from there Google maps and presto I found this little gold mine again. And I was delighted to find that the vibe had not changed and the food has only gotten better. This place is a must visit if you possibly can and the steaks here are just amazing. I hope this place will still be here in the years to come. I will be back ever time I'm in the area. All the very best for future business Jamaica Me Crazy

Amazing place just I ordered nachos was so tasty . Great atmosphere although. However the TV needs to replaced ASAP especially in sport season
Louise Hendricks
Love this place🌟 yummy food, great vibe. Friendly staff with an open upstairs seating option included 👍and a very nice cocktail range... With Happy Hour specials of buy 1 get 1 free 🍹🎉

I ordered a Kingston chicken snitzel. The seasoning is described great in the menu but what I had received was just bland chicken a d sauce. The portion for the rice was sad and the chips portion was literally just 4 chips.the rice and chips tasted as if it was leftovers from previous customers that was simply reheated.

The cocktails aren't worth it anymore and the food isn't worth it anymore. there are other places who haven't dropped their standards to go to.

Visited your restaurant on Sat for a birthday celebration. We were a party of about 14 and our waiter, Hashish remembered most of our names ! Service was Excellent and Hashish was the Best. So attentive and on the ball. Food and atmosphere was great too. What an Experience. Keep up the Good work.

Very poor service. Tried to call for a booking but when i arrived at the restaurant I was told the phones are down. Wifi didn't work. Margarita machines were not working. No pizza bases for pizzas. Meat balls were raw. Food was not spicy at all. The manager seem to be in a world of her own... Oh, the cocktails were served in cooldrink glasses topped with so much ice that my drink was so diluted. They won't be seeing me again....

Good background music, lovely set up, amazing & friendly staff serving excellent drinks and delicious food.
Nicola Potgieter
Was there on a Sunday. Slow service and the waiter looked higher than Marley himself, but otherwise an amazing place. Great vibe and food!
Janine Dippenaar
The service was really bad but luckily the food made up for it. Such a pitty you don't check yor salt grinders reguraly. My whole pizza landed up with the salt grinder on it...

I went there this evening, I went there before , never sat near the kitchen before, what a sight, the kitchen and staff were dirty, I spoke to the manageress on duty Jennifer about the dirty kitchen, she was very defensive, short staff etc, I told her no need for a dirty kitchen, will never go back, nor will I Ever, tell people about this place , Jennifer your attitude stinks

The prices are so great that the whole family can join in. The ambience is fun and lively. The food and drinks are on point.

My new favourite place to be, Lekker vibes and very very good food and service
Amanda Kranenburg
Great chilled out place, outside balcony with great views, Jeroen had a lovely cocktail (sadly I was driving so couldn't partake!) but the service seems to have gone downhill since our last visit....

Valcano cocktail 🍹 to die for!!!! Gourmet Burgers 🍔 mouth watering !!!! Staff excellent very friendly!!

I opted for a take away today which consisted of two pizzas. The staff was extremely friendly upon arrival and the service was done in the most professional way possible. The food was extremely yummy and my young boys thoroughly enjoyed their half & half margarita with extra bacon pizza🍕💙 - Thank you!
Shihaam Jeppe
Excellent service, good vibe, great fire place during winter. The food was above expectations, chilli mussels and ribs are a must have. Amazing to say the least. We will be back.
Carl Thomas
We ordered the half platter... And everything on there was really good. We actually struggled to finish it. Went during happy hour so selected cocktails were half price. But to be honest looking at their cocktail prices, they are really quite well priced when it's not happy hour.

Cocktails were also not watered down which I liked. Service was good.
Thato Moagi
Ordered the Aruba pizza. It was what I expected, the thin base is crispy, the tomato base is tasty but not authenticity cooked, the toppings were fresh, the mango is a great addition. Will be trying another pizza on their menu
Natasha
Chilled atmosphere and quick service. We found the chicken a bit dry though but the mussels we ordered for our starter was good. I also found the beans in my roti lacked flavor. The staff were friendly though and we did enjoy our milkshake.
Tselane
Super chilled restaurant. Don't expect fast attendance of waiters . Cocktails could be better looking and tasting. We had burgers when we went and they were alright. Nothing stood out from the taste but love the name!
Jessie Pearson
Absolutely the best restuarant ever! In my opinion that is🤟🏻😁 awesome service with a smile garunteed, the food is never a let down and there's such a variety of things to choose from you can satisfy pretty much any craving you have. My favourite things are the chicken livers and the pizzas. Not to mention I had the best steak there a while ago 😍😍😍 bring your friends here for good vibes, and cold beers

This place has been on my list of places to try for the longest time. Decided to grab lunch here with the siblings on a rather hot Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately their blender was out of order so no shakes or frozen margaritas were being served. Boo hoo! Really wanted a frozen margarita.. but oh well I decided to not day drink and move on to ordering my main.

I ordered the jerk chicken with half rice and beans and half sweet potato fries. My brothers had the Aruba BBQ chicken pizza and the jerk chicken and mango wrap.

The pizza is not my fave. Not a fan of the tomato sauce on the barely there base (there might actually be such a thing as a pizza base that’s too thin). The jerk chicken was really good though. It’s literally a half chicken coated in amazing seasoning on your plate. So much food!!! I love the fact that they use real sweet potatoes for their fries, but it was way too oily! My brother loved his jerk chicken wrap though.

The waiter was such a hoot! So funny, super attentive and just all round good service.

Had it not been for that blender mishap (did I mention how hot it was today!) and the too thin tomatoey pizza, I’d score this vibey place higher... but alas...
Jessy Da Silva
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Jamaica Me Crazy with my hubby! Food was great we started with the chili poppers and for mains we shared the jambalaya and notorious pizza! Service was good and staff very welcoming and friendly!
Courtney Tiffany Fortuin
Food was excellent, drinks was great, except the mint was so fresh that there were ants in my mojito! But this was quickly fixed with a long island ice tea that was even more amazing! I've been here a few times and the great customer service from waiters and staff will keep us coming back! :) Cheslyn Jameson

If you’re looking for a vibey night out with friends for dinner & drinks, Jamaica Me Crazy is the place to be! Perfect vibe to enjoy some sundowners/ cocktails accompanied by some good food & good company.
Direshan Pillay
Went here for a farewell. Ordered two dishes from here. The chocalate springrolls were a bit hard but still nice. I really enjoyed their napoleonata styled pasta. Good spicy taste. My colleagues enjoyed their happy hour cocktails. Though they complained the alcohol was think in them.
Yajna Gold
My friend had her birthday here and I've been many times for a drink and bite - I'll never forget those chili poppers or those pizzas. Pretty good food and pretty chilled vibe
Manna Storom
This place is a really fun vibe to visit with a few friends. The food is incredible with fun Jamaican themes. And the drinks are great, Rum goes in everything here. If you're looking for a nice chilled night out with some good friends this is the place.
Food Guru Snapper
Totally dig this place! They offer really great food, serving pizzas and nachos that wow the tastebuds. The service is awesome and they know how to keep the drinks coming!
Kylee Walker
My favourite place to have pizza and a bowl of fries in Cape Town! The ambiance is amazing and the staff is always friendly. I have celebrated friends birthday's as well as my birthday and anniversary here. Besides the amazing pizza, the JMC pizza to be precise with chicken instead of bacon, Jamaica Me Crazy has really good cocktails and they have happy hour almost every day of the week. Their Lindt chocolate brownies are mouthwatering as it literally melts in your mouth. Definitely a spot to try out with a group of friends or double date.
Popsi
A popular spot on Roodebloem street, Jamaica Me Crazy has never really drawn us in. But the views from the upstairs balcony are not bad and they also allow dogs. On a recent afterwork drink mission, our usual haunt being closed, we gave it a chance and ended up staying for supper. I had the Trinidad Roti, which is vegan and was pretty delish! My partner ordered a veggie burger, and although he checked with the waiter that it was vegan, the roll came lathered in butter. Best to always be clear about these things I guess. But still worth another visit sometime to add some variety to our repertoire.
Kgomotso Motso Hlatshwayo
after many failed plans , i've finally managed to go to this place . their cocktails had no kick at all and it pretty much tasted like juice . the food was above average , it could've been better . i would go back in hopes of having a better experience with the food and drinks , but the vibe was amazing and their service was excellent .
Lisa
Attended a birthday party at Jamaica me crazy. Nice spot although it can get quite loud. Ordered the pasta which was great and the long island iced tea by recommendation of the waiter (who was great) .can see myself returning. :)
Ryan James Noble
Love this spot, great drinks, great variety of beers, and by far the most satisfying bowl of mussels I've ever had.

Thought I was under supplied with the mussels but shit that was so on point, the very last bit took the last drop of that chilli broth. God damn yo, u can walk here, hell yes
UPDATE: The single most tragic plate of nachos I have ever seen. Like, bowl of soggy fritos spiced chips.

3 words: BEST. MUSSELS. EVER! 😭
I shed a tear. No lie. 😩💕
Super friendly waiters & the vibe is grayyytt as well. Very chilled & laid-back.
They’re very generous with their food portions too!
Shireen Leonard
Every year I go here for my birthday. Just love the vibe, the cocktails and the food never disappoints. And the waiters are always so friendly and chatty. Hands down one of my favorite spots.
Shinade
Great spot with a cool vibe & awesome staff - but didn't enjoy the the meal I had. Opted for the Jerk Stir Fry, but was more like a pasta, not an entirely good one though. My friends had really good-tasting burgers , so I think I maybe just made a bad choice that day. However, definitely a good spot for drinks with friends.

Servive good and food AMAZING!! Love Calamarley stater.
Tant sannie se melktertjie is Lip Lekker!!Defs come back here. Bring friends here for nice chilled vibez!

Tried out the 500g Rump Steak "pimped out"; WOW, I must say, this is a steak that kicks a Peppermelt Steak's butt. Will definitely visit again with my family. U people are tops; keep up the good work.
Monette Bezuidenhout
There burgers and pizzas are amazing!!! There Monday madness special is great. The service is good. It gets busy but usually they have tables open for 2-4 people. Very relaxed vibe. The deck upstairs has a nice view.
Zanenkululeko Belot
Loads of potential, great location with eccentric decor and lay out, but a little dirty.

The food flavours were incredible but the presentation didn't do it any justice.

The service is slow and the cocktails are alright
Sinikiwe Mzezewa
I decided to try Jamaica Me Crazy because i love carribean food. The cocktails were awesome, ordered southern fried chicken with sweet potato chips. Did not enjoy the chicken, otherwise the service was great.
Emma Haines
I have always wanted to try out this highly recommended restaurant and tonight a few of us went for drinks and early dinner and there was a great atmosphere upstairs and it was buzzing with people which was a good sign but unfortunately the food and drinks were really a let down.

The happy hour drinks had more ice in them that alcohol or mix and apparently the cocktails come out of a pre mixed machine which was also a let down as cocktails should be a hand prepared drink. As far as food I heard their pizzas and Nachos were a good option to choose but I felt that the standard of food wasn't anything out of the ordinary and the pizza didn't have much as far as toppings so they could have been a bit more generous!

I feel like I have finally visited this highly talked about place but unfortunately I don't feel like I'll be going back!
Capetown_restaurants
Absolutely superb place for afternoon cocktails. The restaurant is really laid back and the staff are so friendly and chilled out. The half price drinks on the happy hour special are so reasonable and nice and strong! Not the most extensive selection, but if you fancy a merry couple of rounds that won't break the bank then this is the place to go. Will definitely be back for more, and hopefully a burger to add to the collection.
Wanderlust Coffee
I was amazed at this lovely place. Friendly service with our eccentric waiter. The food is priced very good and tastes delicious! I love the fact that it's a complete mixture of people and cultures without any judgement.
For a quieter, more "clean" look you can sit downstairs. Or for the more noisy vibe, with good music, sit upstairs. I'm in love with the Jamaican vibe.
They will definitely see me again soon.
Chris Rafael
I came here with a large group of friends for the 2 for 1 cocktail special and by the end of the evening I had sampled every cocktail they had to offer. Im a big fan of the slushie based cocktails. The strawberry daiquiri here is my particular favorite.

The rooftop section of Jamaica Me Crazy offers wonderful views and if it gets a bit windy you can also move inside and still feel like you are off street level. The staff are quick friendly and efficient and the chicken wings are great.
Tarryn Zeeman
Tasteless, dry burger. Sloppy soggy pizza. Unattractive cocktail in a black label glass. && extremely SLOWWWW service. Waiting time for food approximately one long hour. ordered dessert (which looked as if it was ready made) but took about 25mins to come to our table. Only to get here Ice cold, having to send it back again. When our waiter returned, he brought us the melted Ice Cream which he initially dished, as per the photos attached.

This place definitely won't be seeing me anytime soon. What a waste of money.
Nadja Casteling
Forget about other steakhouses, Jamaica Me Crazy makes the absolute best steaks in Cape Town. Along with the chilled vibe and super friendly waiters, it's definitely worth the time and money to visit this place. Top notch guys!
Ofentse Sandra Molwantwa
The service was poor. My partner ordered a hot chocolate which arrived cold. When we got our food it was cold too. Even though we sent our food back - my fries were still not cooked all the way through. I wouldn't recommend this spot.
Claire Atkinson
Cocktails are over priced and the service is really slow. We had to search for a waiter from the get go. BUT the pizza is really good, and so is the chicken and chorizo jambalaya. The view and the food make the service worth it.
James Mader
A nice, relaxed place in a cool location with a great selection of local beer on tap. Sadly the food is absolutely awful. I have now tried four different dishes (I live just around the corner) and each has proven to be an absolute abomination. Even the "Chillie poppers" which one would think are difficult to get wrong we inedible; like canned Jelapinos rolled in sawdust and wall paper paste. Ill go back for a beer from time to time, but Id rather starve than eat their food.
Kudzai Sachikonye
Went late evening time. Such a great vibe with a wonderful view from upstairs. The Jerk chicken was very juicy. Service was a bit slow but worth the wait, Enjoyed this meal!
Mishka Latib
Food is Flavourful, cocktails are moreish, and the staff always make you feel very, very welcome! Only complaint would be the waiting time for food. Sometimes it can be a bit excessive. Once, we waited over an hour and had to leave soon to rush to an appointment. We explained this to the manager, so he promply apologized, got our food done quickly, put half of it in boxes for us, other half on plates to eat quickly, and took half our meal off the bill! Would definitely go back, but just be prepared for a bit of a wait. Good Food takes time I guess.
Lucinda Villain
What a disappointment. The service was really slow. To the point where we didn't know who was serving us, our food took more than 45min and no top up for our first round of drinks were offered. We had to grab our own cutlery, salt and pepper from the waiter station.

We ordered chilli poppers; a beef and chicken jerk Chicken kebab each. The beef was dry and overcooked, both meats clearly not marinaded. The only thing that was quick was when we asked for the bill. So disappointed.
Cynthia
Not a bad place, chilled ambiance. The service isnt that great and the cocktails take forever, the stuffed jalapeños are not bad. Overall not that bad of an experience, they just need to work on their service delivery.
Jeff Murray
Really doesn't deserve a 1 rating. Never have i experienced such bad service before. Waiter was more interested with his cell phone than our table. We had to call him to order drinks and to order food. Never once cleared our table from empty cans, bottles and glasses. The manager ended up doing it. The table that arrived 20 mins after us, ordered after us, received their pizza before us. When we asked why the pizzas were taking so long, the Waiter had an excuse. Pizza arrived, hot plate but ice cold pizza. Clearly the Waiter forgot the pizzas were ready cause his cell phone was more entertaining. He looked surprised when we sent the food back a few cancelled the order. To my disgust, even the manager wasn't really apologetic, she said sorry, here's your bill for the drinks you had. JMC doesn't deserve a rating,
Ainsley Ai Stewart
Cool ambience and chilled vibe.
Food really isn't that great, amongst our group we had a margarita pizza, prawn curry, burger, nachos and ribs. Nobody finished their meals and it's always disappointing when fries are messed up - who messes up fries???

The service is also a bit poor.

Would probably come back for a drink, but that's it.
Stuart Evans
Irie!!

Great little spot in Woodstock. Two stories of fun. Decor and music truly Jamaican. And the jerk chicken (pizza, half chicken and on noodles) is brilliant.

Chilling popper and Calamarley starters plus a selection of 8 craft beers on tap.

Chilled waiting service but didn't have to wait long for food.

Probably worthwhile making a booking.
Samir Daniels
I went to Jamaica after First Thursdays in a group of 12. This was about 9pm. We managed to put two tables together for our big group without a reservation or anything. We ordered our cocktails and it done quite quickly. The food might have taken just a tad too long, but we were obviously a big group. The service was good though.

I ordered a beef burger which came with onion rings and chips. It was really tasty. A very nice patty. Perfectly prepared. Overall the flavor was there, but I wasn't that big a fan of their chips and onion rings. I can't quite put my finger on it. It could have had a bit more colour/a longer cook for a crunchier chip. Also the onion rings' batter could use a bit more flavor.

I'd come back for the cocktails, Jalapeño Poppers and pizza any day.
Lezandi Fourie
The yellow restaurant with the cool tunes and authentic Jamaican interior .
Upon entry I felt comfortable and intrigued. The atmosphere is laid back . We visited during happy hour on a saterday. My table ordered 4 Pina colada's, but they had 'ran out' so we could only have two. I thought this was a bit odd since it was 6pm and happy hour only ends at 7pm. I tasted 3 different cocktails and I'd say 1 out of the three were good (dark n stormy) the pink Cadillac and Pina colada were underwhelming. One of the chairs at our table was broken and we had to ask for a different chair or one of my friends nearly ended up on the floor.
We ordered four pizzas that came out quick & hot but the taste was mediocre. They don't serve chillies and garlic on the side as one becomes accustomed to with most pizza joints. They do have a tasty sriracha sauce though!
The overall highlight was the unique vibe, but I won't be back for pizza and drinks.
Susann Nortje
Awesome vibe with a great view of the city when you sit outside on the deck. Waiters are friendly, efficient and quick. We had the nachos (crunchy and yummy) and the Lindt brownie with ice cream - also delicious. A must stop for us every time we visit Cape Town.
Louise Alice Hurman
Easy going restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Go for happy hour but stick to the pina colada's! Food is good, particularly the pizza and burgers. Staff are friendly and attentive :)
Mosa Mashati
horrible cocktails , and I mean really horrible . My boyfriends Long Island tasted like diluted ice tea , my margarita tasted like frozen concentrated juice . I have honestly never had a cocktail that ugly . For the prices of their cocktails R48-R53 which is like most CT places with GOOD cocktails, I was really expecting so much more.
The food was AMAZING. We had the chicken livers with naan bread - it was warm and delicious. prawn curry and the blue cheese burger. Great flavors!
Roxanne Jackadie
Went there this weekend and absolutely loved it. Service is great..atmosphere is awesome! Marley jamming in the background. Will be going back there again😆

Jamaica Me Crazy with its vibrant, striking yellow building is a restaurant and bar situated in one of Cape Town's oldest suburbs.

It's a Caribbean style restaurant with reggae music playing in the background creating a relaxed and laid back atmosphere.

They offer delicious home-style cooking with Caribbean specialties like Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Jamaican Patties, Pineapple BBQ ribs, Chicken and Chorizo Jambalaya, only but to name a few.

They also have a great selection of beers, cocktails and wines. For those who prefer something more adventurous, they also have a great collection of tequila and rum.

The pizzas are very appetising with a generous amount of toppings for a great balance of textures and flavours.

Crispy fried Chicken schnitzel is seasoned well with Jermaican jerk spices and served with chips, veggies, coleslaw on the side as well as a delicious sauce to accompany the schnitzel.

The Chicken and Chorizo Jambalaya is delicious with cajun-inspired rice and served with Cuban flat bread. The portion is big in size, although it was absolutely tasteful I struggled to finish it.

They have a stunning balcony upstairs that overlooks parts of the city and harbour. If you have a taste for spice and a tongue for flavour, the food here is second to none.
JotterJo
Visited this intetesting restaurant recently for Sunday lunch. Its just one of the many restaurants in the suburb that is revitalising the area. Its safe, has good parking and a nice veranda to sit on and watch the world go back on hot summery days.
Between us we had jambalaya, pizzas and schnitzel. All portions were hearty, tasty and had definite Caribbean flavours. (Us girls couldn't finish our dishes - probably due to the enormous cocktails we had! )
The setting was casual and comfortable. Perfect for a lazy afternoon spent with fabulous friends!

BigJoe Sharese Hunt Glen Hunt

A cool, unique Jamaican themed restaurant with friendly service :)
Mmmm they make very delicious, thin-crust pizzas :P
Had the "JMC" which has the best 3 things you can have on a pizza;
bacon, avo and feta (without the rocket).
Definitely recommended

Very cool relaxed vibe here. Tucked off the hustle and bustle of Woodstock's main road is slice of the Caribbean.

We stopped here for lunch and the added bonus of the Entertainer voucher.

The meals were great with a real Jamaican taste to it. The decor is rustic and chilled and nice to sit out the front and enjoy the vibe.

Service is friendly and chilled. This is a place I'd go back for.
Marcus Christiansen
Jamaica Me Crazy is a little from the usual Cape Town artisanal-style restaurant, which is great and it fits perfectly into Woodstock. It's perfect for afternoon drinks that go late into the night. The food is well-priced and they have a really great selection of local craft and SAB beers.
Shnapple
Revisited on an easy afternoon and everything was way better. Food and service was good but I must admit that the place was quite empty. Will give it another go.
Kelli Hendricks
Had such a great experience at Jamaica me crazy today. Our waiter was so friendly and the vibe put me in a great mood. The food was so delicious. I honestly didnt want to leave.
Robin Mahlangu
Lovely spot to chill and hang, wide variety of cocktails and beverages to pick from which are all fairly priced. The food tastes great and the staff are very welcoming.
Kelly Frielinghaus
Jamaica me crazy had a great vibe on a Saturday night 👌 Recommended to sit upstairs, since downstairs feels dark and dingy 😱 Three of us ordered burgers 🍔 Surprised that they charged separately for the patty and then the topping eg R73 beef patty and R20-30 for topping. (Why don't they just include a proper price per item) Splitting the bill was tricky. Anyway my burger was overdone, burnt on outsides and dry inside. The other two said their burgers were cold and grey looking. All the chips and onion rings were cold! 😳 the rest of our table had pizzas which looked great. Cocktails a bit watered down, no fresh ingredients and no garnishes 👎Service was slow. Bit of a let down...😔
Shainy
This quaint place really took me by surprise, the food was super yummy, I especially enjoyed the Nachos and the Chilli Mussels were nothing I have tasted before - amazing!!!! their drinks are also well priced. Loved the vibe and will definitely be visiting soon.
Christie Koekemoer
The manager didn't call back when we wanted to make a reservation. Later we drove their and was lucky enough to get a seat. The waiter Kevin gave very good service at a reasonably good pace as can be expected. We both loved the food and cocktails. Recommended!
Danieljake
Came here for drinks for a birthday function. We had a table on the deck with a decent view of the city. Cocktails were well priced and great tasting. Milkshakes were a bit disappointing. The atmosphere is great. Awesome place to kick back & relax & watch the sunset
Tessa Brown
Banana Jam's less fun sister restaurant. It's a bit small and the last time I went they didn't have several of the ingredients on the menu so my order had to be changed twice. Good pizza though, and not too expensive.
Rivaania Perumal
The vibe of this place is incredible. Such a welcoming and friendly staff who are extremely friendly. The upstairs area is great on warm days. The food is tasty and exotic.
Natalie Gibson
Worst service ever! Booked a table, on arrival our table didn't have enough seats for the amount of people booked. Our drinks took such a long time to come, and when ordering the beer tasting special which wasn't available, even though it was being advertised the waiter told me " I needed to check the website before coming" he had such a cocky attitude. I will not be back
Lauren Grace Green
A greatly welcomed improvement! Proud to say they're in my hood! Previous visits, circa 2014 were disappointing, but now food was unexpectedly delicious and we had attentive, friendly service!
Anthony Dale - Herbst
3 pizzas and a bottle of wine, R240 and the jamacan chap is way hot, his name is Batsi! Their pizzas are always great! Often have specials on the cock yummy tails lol!
Frans Herbst - Dale
When we in the area we always come here. The best food best drinks and great atmosphere. Value for money and great service.

Monday special just got us today. R60 food and wine.
Wez_Undercover
Very nice little spot to meet up with friends.
If they are stoners they will love it even more.
Service is really great and the atmosphere cosy. The Monday R60 special is a great deal but my Cuban pizza wasn't amazing unfortunately. But I did have 3 bottles of R60 wine so.... everyone wins.
Kate
I was served beef in my 'vegetarian' nachos. I have not eaten meat in five years. Utter disgust and revulsion. I will never ever go here again.
Rebecca Francis-Pope
Came here on a Monday night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to discover their Monday specials menu (R60 bottle of wine? Yes please!!). The atmosphere is both chilled and fun, the service good and their creamy prawn curry delicious. Will be back!

The atmosphere is pretty cool, there's a lot of energy and a great buzz. The cocktails are nice (I love the volcano as it combines my two favourite cocktails). We were a big table so I think we overwhelmed the kitchen. Our food took a long time and wasn't particularly great. I would go back for quiz night but not food
Paupie
Greasy easy comfort food
The burgers are really great here...
Great place to go on happy hour and watch sport...
Still do lovely cocktails...

The pizza bases are light and crispy which I prefer

Over all not bad the decor needs a bit of a makeover otherwise love it
Marcelo Dauane
Been here several times and was never disappointed with the experience. The service is very good and the food even better. Perfect place to watch the sunset while having some cocktails or craft beers.
Juanita Rene Stears
We went here to watch the rugby! Great place! Massive screen, inside space a bit limited, go early to get seat... Outside area very nice, overlooking Cape Town, and the bright city lights! The drinks... Cheap.... Happy Hour from 3-7 if I remember correctly! Very nice long happy hour! :-) the food... Pizza, thin crispy tasty pizza! Service, can be better but not to bad. Will def go again.
LeMarc Gouws
This place is great for a casual get together, meeting some friends for a couple of drinks and some feel good, fast food type vibes.. Enjoyed their pizzas, and their alcoholic beverages are very reasonable with daily specials om cocktails and hard liquors. Also have a good selection of craft beers, with Boston breweries shining in all their glory, nice! Will visit again, nice hang out.
Gciniwe Gama
So much cool here! had the best time with my friends. great food, great ambience. Hosted a birthday Lupper for a friend who loves all things Jamaican (Music & Food). So it was the best time!
Waseem Dawood
food was slow and came out in drabs, the food was decent. the pasta and pizza dishes were good but again poorly executed nachos and poppers, we should probably just stop ordering them now
Tiaan Jonker
Love the decor and atmosphere - really love the vibe. I have only been here for drinks with work mates.

The drinks menu is amazing. The cocktails is a must.
Catherine Luyt
I usually enjoy this chilled spot but had a terrible time last week! Our mains took over an hour to arrive and I am convinced the waiter was high, or just extremely nonchalant about our complaints. Will only go again if the service is jacked up. I do enjoy the food there!
Karlien Meyer
Went in our lunch break to try out the Carribean Grill House.

It was everything I expected... Warm and friendly, casual, rough around the edges with a really enjoyable vibe.

Cool Jamaica music plays in the background while you dig into their island grub!

We had:
COCO LOCO HOPPIN' JONS - classic chilli poppers stuffed with feta and deep fried. A serving of 4 poppers for R55. Yummy and up to standard.

CARIBBEAN KEBABS - R85 for 2 chicken skewers with mushroom and peppers coated in jerk sauce with 3 sides - potato chips, sweet potatoes and coleslaw. A very healthy portion for such a reasonable amount. Not a flavour explosion but a good substantial meal.

JERK CHICKEN STIRFRY - what an amazing surprise!! Only R75 for a huge plate of delicious, flavour - packed stir fry served with creamy egg noodles. Top dish of the visit.

CALAMARLEY - Fried calamari starter served with coleslaw and mayo. R49. Definitely tasty and fresh and tender. The only faults were the presentation as it was a small portion of calamari just tossed on a big plate which made it look less apetizing.

AUBERGINE FETA STACK - Worst dish of the visit. The aubergine was extremely oily, bland and unseasoned. The tomatoes were not grilled properly and the two stacks came soaked in balsamic glaze, such a no-no!

Based on the atmosphere and some stand - out dishes I would definitely pay this spot another visit for a relaxed, boozy lunch or one of their quiz nights! Unfortunately, two of the glasses we used were badly chipped. Big Up that their service is excellent and the waiters know the menu AND that they have Sriracha as a condement 😀🌴🍲🍗
Gigliola Conte-Patel
Such a weird little spot. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though its not the kind of place I usually go to. I had the Jambalaya with flat bread. Both were hearty and filling and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're in Woodstock and need a quiick bite try it out
Mischa Marais
This place is awesome! My brother used to work here so it was super warm and friendly...and the bouncer would even walk my friend and I to our car because its not in the safest area... the food is really good and its a very cool vibe :)
Chante Daries
This place has a vibe like no other. I went with a group of mates and it was amazing. It just has a happy feeling to it. The cocktails are amazing and the food is really tasty.
Sarita Kerber
Love the vibe here very chilled and laid back. Had a pretty amazing beef burger for there Monday lunch specials of only R60. They have delicious pizzas and some good old Jamaican style meals
Tiyaarah Cloete
The vibe is rather chilled. As Iman said, the food was slow and the waiters were inattentive one even argued with us about ordering a side of chips (which I wouldn't recommend) the nachos were great, the chilli poppers were bland, pizza was good, and as was the pasta.
Iman Bawa
Had a chill night with some friend, we were seeking a relaxed environment and unfortunately received more relaxation than we were hoping for when it came to service. We had no clue who our waiter was and waited for a half an hour for the order of our mains to be taken and on top of that they got my order wrong. One of the waitrons had a bit of an attitude and this I find unacceptable when working in the service industry, it doesn't matter if you are sitting in a 5 star restaurant of a past food shop good service is key. The food was just about average except for the nachos which I really enjoyed. I would of rated lower but Jamaica me crazy has alway been a favourite of mine and I'm giving them the opportunity to improve will be back to see if service has gotten better
Damian Casey
I was really looking forward to a meal form this place, sadly it was terrible. After forgetting two of our orders and waiting an hour for two of the same pizzas (which understandably can happen), we were given oily food and a fish taco which was garnished with a strangers hair and scales Yum! Also the general environment and service of the waiting staff is poor at best!
Lynn Jooste
A very chilled spot. Food is good, ambience great. I'll pass on the cocktails...but for those who enjoy a cocktail without the punch, they do have a wide variety of cocktails available on the daily happy hour. I recommend the pizza-great base and generous toppings.
Nelia Tatum Campher-Brown
Hubby hates coming into the town area but this trip was totally worth it. Cocktails is real value for money we enjoyed the food and service was ok. The vibe itself is very relaxing out door seating watching people continuing with there daily routines . Definitely a place to go back to
Carlétjie Van Eck
Loooooove this place! Food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Love the laid back vibe - great for a drink after work and a quick snack!
Shaakierah Sturks
My Fiancè took me here for my birthday as his first experience was good, The deck is a nice spot ,really cool vibe the drinks were good however coming from work i was famished and having waiting for my food was not so good I thought it would be worth the wait since my fiancè assured me their food was great but gosh what a huge disappointment.
Kerryn Rehse
Been wanting to eat here for ages and finally decided to try it - what a disappointment. The evening started out well - great beer and wine selection, superb chilli poppers (try it wrapped in bacon) and then came the mains, my husband enjoyed his burger with bacon, mozzarella and chili but I ordered fish tacos - whatever you do don't order the fish tacos, it is in fact a fish wrap with no "jerk seasoning" on the fish and no fresh flavours that one associates with a taco #sodisappointing - Waiter and service was great though
Cara Attewell
What an incredible atmosphere and vibe!! If you haven't been its definately a place to add to your list. I have been here a few times and I can tell you their burgers are the business end!!
However, if you are a stickler for prompt service you might struggle here! I know I always have to be a little patient here. Friends asked for thir bill and were brought another round of tequilas!? I had to wait at least 30minutes for our first round, which was just tequilas then again for the bill and which is ridiculous!
But the staff are energetic and really add to the atmosphere.
Zanel
The deck is a nice spot to come relax with cocktails, beer and pizza, which is exactly what we did. Even though it was a very windy day, it is still pleasant as the deck area is covered. I had the Tropicano pizza, which was very tasty and the pineapple just made it. My boyfriend had the JMC which was a bit bland. Service was average.
Claudia Penny
We visited Jamaica Me Crazy because of the entertainer app.

For starters we had chili poppers (coco locos) and Cuban flat bread. The flat bread was absolutely delicious! It would have been nice if it had come with a salsa or sauce of some kind, though. The coco locos were good, especially because we opted for the bacon-wrapped ones.

We both had burgers for mains and they were not the best ever, but they were good. The patties were absolute perfection: crumbly and rare and delicious! The toppings were decent. I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato fries because for some reason they just didn't work.

The service was great! Really impressed!
Glen Loxton
Burgers, pizza, deep fried pub-food things, plenty of craft beers on tap. A good place to have a quick bite to eat with your varsity friends who like to relive their 'I'm grungy and proud of it' student days. 'Practical' would be a good way to describe this place. The roof area has a nice view though, and also doubles as the smoking section. Wear long sleeves if having your forearms gently adhere to the table tops bothers you. I go here a lot, I don't know why.
Anandie
Such a little hidden gem in Cape Town is Jamaican Me crazy. An amazingly relaxed vibe, with a chilled atmosphere and food to die for. Definitely a must-do spot. Cocktails and drinks are reasonably priced and yummy.

A variety of interesting choices for food with some "local is lekker" items and classic chicken meals with a twist.
Michelle Dalton
Laid back vibes, good food and amazing cocktails! I have been here twice, the first time I had the jerk chicken stir-fry which was delicious and full of flavour. On a second occasion I had a pizza which was also great; it had a thin base and toppings were generous. The pizza selection is varied and unique.
We also experienced 'happy hour' which meant half price cocktails!
Tip: sit upstairs on a summery evening and enjoy the view, and order the cocktail that's a pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mixed - you'll feel content! 😄
Mike Howard
looked like a well used venue and I guess it gets really full weekends. going there Early Friday Lunchtime was quiet. The burger and chicken dish were ok. Next time I think I might go in the evening.
Martin Evans
hate the name.

but the place is ok.
went and had a fillet steak there the other day.
came out more like a sirloin...because it was.

ate it quicker than you can say the venue name though as I was rushing to the theatre.....it was good value however
Warwick D Booth
One of the best getaways in upper woosdstock, prices are quite reasonable and the food is better than a home cooked meal. It can get a bit noisy in the upper section.
Corli Du Toit
In my eyes this place is more of a drinks venue than somewhere you go to eat. The food is pretty standard cocktail bar menu. Nothing really special. Food is a bit pricey for the quality. The service is also kinda slow sometimes. But I still hang out there a lot because its a nice vibe, close to my friend's house, and the happy hour makes it pretty cheap.
Damian Stegmann
Great place, but the R18 cocktail special is sadly gone. Beer tasting was fantastic but they didn't tell us what beer was which. Probably won't visit for awhile.

Love love love! The Decor is simple but inviting, the Drinks are good and food delicious from the nachos to the pizzas and burgers :) one of my fav places!
Stacy Scott
Jamaica Me Crazy is Woodstocks hotspot, with the best craft beer on tap served by such friendly and energized staff!
Stef Schmid
Friday night happy hour..limited on cocktails and what you do get is so watery that it tastes like a watered down cooldrink. Restaurant wad busy and we had a large group but food took a very long time to come. I ordered sticky ribs starter and an hour later it came with main meal! I had main half grilled chicken with jerk seasoning served with chunky coleslaw and sweet potato fries and bean&rice...very tasty but nothing spectacular. Take away the little bit if jerk seasoning it was just another grilled chicken. Ribs were outstanding. Sauce in them is amazing. Service is very slow. Menu : Food made Jamaican by adding jerk spice. .menu needs to be updated..more traditional Jamaican dishes. Overall food was good .great selection of craft beers
Sophie Mamet
Really good vibe there!
I went there for the cocktail special on a Friday!
I never try the food but I saw some of them that really look nice!
A nice place to chill with some friends!
Louda Connoway
We went on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends for the cocktail special. Cocktails were nice but limited - they apparently ran out of green iguana and other cocktails were inconsistent plus others on the menu weren't available at all, which was a little strange. The chili poppers were amazing (wrapped in bacon!) and I had the jambalaya main which was really tasty. The fish tacos looked more like a wrap. Definitely worth a visit. Service was also very friendly and chill.
Harrietdv
Twas a Monday special I couldn't resist! Mouthwatering handmade burger with a creamy mushroom sauce! Devine! This place has such an awesome vibe! I am quite a local- it's so close to my house- by far one of the best places to get together with friends in Woodstock! Our waiter, Kenny, was a treat as usual!
Zeenat Noordien
Very cool relaxed atmosphere. The staff were warm and inviting added that little extra to the experience. I really enjoyed the vibe and the food. definitely somewhere to go during the summer
Leah Feiger
Ate here last night for the first time. I was surprised! It was quite good. First off, definitely don't sit downstairs unless it is particularly cold. The upstairs portion of the restaurant is super lovely, fit with fantastic wooden picnic tables and a gorgeous view over the twinkling Cape Town lights. The drinks were cheap, so we definitely all ordered a few cocktails that were made well enough. And the food! It was good, definitely good. I had the jerk chicken, and the other dishes that my friend's had that I remember was the rasta pasta (prawn pasta) that was really good, and the jamalaya. Everything was pretty enjoyable, though the food took a long time to come out of the kitchen.

The pros: the view, the cheap drinks, the food. I'll definitely return.

The cons: the long wait on food - we were hungry!
Kerissa Govender
Very cool place, vibe is awesome. However the poppers and nachos are bang average. Good selection of beers, cocktails and tequilas. Would recommend this as more bar than restaurant vibe.
Rita Van Eck
Welcome to island paradise mon! (Read in Jamaican accent.)
I’ve waited forever to visit this place and thanks to a friend’s birthday party, I too can now join the discussion on Jamaica Me Crazy.

We went for happy hour cocktails and what a happy 4 hours it was! You must try the Green Iguana, Sea Breeze, Pink Cadillac and Volcano. They are all delicious and with happy hour it’s a bargain!

Most of the food was out of my budget and looked a little too average for the price, but the chili poppers are an absolute must! They call them Coco Locos and do yourself a favour and add the extra bacon. It really is the best I’ve ever had! I cannot stress this enough: get the poppers with the bacon!

They have a wide range of food and drinks, catering for everyone. In the décor they really show tribute to Jamaica and that makes the place unique. There’s even a short dictionary on the menu of typical Jamaican phrases. After each round of rum-filled cocktails your accent improves a lot!

All in all, was a nice experience – Jamaica Me Crazy, I’ll be back for those Bacon Coco Locos!
Melanie Du Toit
Totally unassuming restaurant with an array of different options on the menu. I ordered a pizza there one night to share with a friend. We came back the following week and each ordered our own - it was that good! Perfect thin crusts, ideal amount of cheese and they don't skimp too much on the toppings like most pizza places. Their starter of stuffed mushrooms is also delicious - if you can handle a bit of spice in your life.
Kelly Rae Gifford
I just love the name of this restaurant! The name is a good representation of the type of relaxed, chilled out vibe that they offer. The food if very tasty and the location is nice and central for friends meeting from all parts of the city. It is a fun, half-way meeting spot for a nice rum (yes of course you have to have rum) and tasty dins.
Philisiwe Mahlangu
This is the best restaurant. awesome vibe, great waiting staff and fantastic food. the lady at the front of house was a little cold but she aint a thang with a place as like that. too nice
Vinolin Naidoo
Food is good. I had the ribs and wings and my love (Megan Rajah)had the jelopeno popper. The service was excellent! Very rustic place and is definitely a hidden gem. Worth a visit!

We were so pleasantly surprised by how much we LOVED Jamaica Me Crazy! We went for trivia, which was really a great deal at R25 per person and provided about an hour and a half of light-hearted competition and fun from the quiz master. We got there just in time for happy hour and decided to try a cocktail (The Sea Breeze). I can agree with other reviews that it is watered down, so I probably won't go for that again. The wine is priced well, however, so we continued with that. After trivia ended, we decided to grab dinner there as well. I got the Rocket Man Beef Burger (camembert, rocket, and balsamic reduction...omg!) and the Mr. got the Cuban pizza. Wow, were we impressed! The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, and the toppings were amazing. It also comes with a choices of two sides (I got the sweet potato fries/onion rings and a salad). The pizza was a delicious combination of chorizo, feta, peppadews, onion, and garlic. It is thin based, but was cooked perfectly! We also had outstanding, friendly, and quick service.

Judging from the other reviews, maybe we just came in on an amazing night...but, there was loadshedding (hence the dark photos) and that in no way hindered our experience. We will be back and hope for the same great experience!

Update: we went back and the pizza wasn't as good as the first time...a bit overcooked...we changed our rating to a 4.0....the burgers are still great, though!
Zelda Hahn
What a lovely experience. From arrive on a Friday night in happy hour with no reservation, getting a table and getting 5 star service with a full restaurant. The food was delicious, sticky ribs, nachos and the chicken wings. The choc brownies are to die for. Bill came to R289. Well worth it and will definitely have dinner there again.
Danielle Luyt
Let me first mention that I miss the old Owners and staff. But nevertheless it is a great local hangout spot, the food is always good, no matter what you order. The staff are very friendly and down to earth, the place to let your hair down and relax. The Green Iguana cocktail is a must try.
Ieatjozi
JUST because of their sticky ribs they deserve full marks! They have the most delicious Jamaican flavored sticky ribs. It comes of the bone just looking at it. With at least 10 craft beers on-tap, and a few others bottled, they're a craft drinker's heaven.... We got away there with R250 for two bellies full of joy.
Romano Quintal
My local hangout!! The party before the party, awesome vibe drinks and food but i really miss the old staff and the way the vibe use to be before the renovations and new ownership.
Andrea Lauren Kraak
My first time here tonight and already not a favourite. The food was very average. My chicken burger was so dry, thank goodness I added camembert and cranberry jelly, but not even that could relieve the dryness. The cocktails were very watery as well, with too much ice. The jerk chicken stir fry is quite delicious though, as is the cuban flat bread. Overall not that impressed.
Jana Lorraine Pretorius
I recently went through a reggae phase (which is pretty much still ongoing), so it seemed appropriate to give Jamaica Me Crazy a try. I enjoyed the fact that the restaurant was busy enough to have an upbeat atmosphere, but without the craziness and frenetic activity of most town / southern suburbs restaurants. I tucked into a generous portion of spicy chicken and chorizo jambalaya, which came with the most enormous chunks of fried doughnut bread (as if the jambalaya wasn't already heavy on carbs, but, in for a penny...). A big plus was also that the waitress was very hands-on, and knowledgeable about the menu items. Some people have given this place a bad rap, but I'd definitely go back for another fun night of reggae beats and Jamaican treats.
Jenevieve Fabre
Just a personal opinion, but not my vibe.
Went for a few drinks after work one day with colleagues and I personally don't like the feel.. May be more suited for the 18-22 college group.
Jacques 'Tiny' Albertyn
Been there a couple of times. Nothing fancy, but the food and service are absolutely outstanding. And it's got a good vibe as well. Worth going back repeatedly.
MelbourneLops
The bright yellow Jamaica me crazy building makes me smile! It’s the same sort of vibe as Banana Jam in Kenilworth and you can expect the same sort of food too. Chilli poppers, ribs, pizzas, burgers. It’s the kind of place where you will want to order the brightest coloured cocktail, shooters and food and you will go home feeling a little more cheerful than when you arrived. It’s a chilled, reggae, no-worries spot situated in the middle of up and coming Woodstock.
Instaeatscapetown
Have always driven past and wondered what it was like. Went there for a Sundat lunch and it was excellent. Service is quick and friendly. Cocktail and alcohol list is brilliant. Ordered the ribs and they were delicious.
Jarrod Swartz
I go here regularly and I must say that the quality of food has been reduced. Firstly you increased your prices which is understandable but why reduce your portions and switch around ingredients that worked. My wings was the thickness of a pen, it was not possible for the portions to get any smaller. On top of that you replace your blue cheese dip with yogurt, which makes sense if the wings actually had any heat to them. The nachos was served on a dirty plate, with 2 dips instead of the regular 3 dips, it also didn't have beans and not as much cream cheese as usual. I was still hungry but decided to leave out of fear from receiving another disappointing dish. This is not the Jamaica Me Crazy I'm use to and will not return anytime soon.
Tendani Nethengwe
I absolutely loved the place...chilled vibes, the waiter was really friendly. I can definitely see myself coming back again. My friend and I had the El Diablo cocktail which was recommended by the waiter. Loved it. And we had the coconut prawn curry. I'm not a fan of spicy food but I loved this dish.
Michelle
We actually went because I bought a groupon hadn't been before, service was really bad. The pizzas we had were good nothing to talk about, it was a really quiet night when we went, place seemed abut dirty, definitely wouldn't go back
Rupert Cameron Sully
Good spot for a drink, especially the roof on a good evening. Cocktails aren't great. Food is not worth it. Have a pizza if you must. I'd love them to improve and bring prices down a tad as I like the atmosphere
DingDing
Dirty, poor service and no food ... I was invited to Jamaica Me Crazy for a friends birthday on Monday the 15th of June. We got up and left after waiting 3 hours for food which do not appear. Other comments:- The first thing that struck me was just how dirty the place was, grimy streaky windows, sticky tables and a kitchen than would make you want to barf (seriously guys, you could kill someone). The service was poor bordering on negligent, it seems the only qualification necessary to work there is set of dreadlocks. It was about as authentic as a Mexican restaurant on a north Manchester industrial estate or an Irish bar in Dubai. The place is just another apathetic Cape Town "trendy" spot where poor service, lack of accountability and absence of culinary passion is labelled as "ethnic" and used to separate you from your money.
Chesne Botha
Jamaica me crazy used to be our weekend hangout great service, great food, service however deteriorated after the new staff was hired and the revamp was done
Jean Vermeulen
The waiter was confused (maybe new?) Took forever with food. Got orders mixed up. Food was mediocre at best. A beef burger is never good when it is not a bit pink inside (not that they asked how I want it done). Meh, won't go back soon.
Apol
It's a really nice atmosphere. The background music isn't too overwhelming. Decided to be brave and taste the beers even though im not a beer fan. That worked out well :-)
Shad Lee
Great place to chill and drink the night away with good friends. Nice fire going on downstairs and awesome to park off in the balcony in summer.
Food is always great too. Have the snack platter, u won't be sorry.
Lexi Pauli
If you are into Banana Jam, then this is your kinda place. I found it exactly the same, regarding decor and menu just with a more reggae feel. The chilli poppers are always a winner but the service is nothing to write home about.
Thea
Awesome place. Excellent food. Great value for money. A must visit if you are into authentic food and something different. Even our 14 year old loved it.
Russ Meyer
Aweh. Chilled vibes, uncomplicated and unpretentious. Come now with it. Has six of Boston Breweries finest craft beers on tap for you to savour the flavour
Jannie
Very cool
Place, nice food only problem that i would have is that they are not very hygienic. Had my glass twice with stuff in. Dont think i will go there again but very cool vibe
Lauren De Villiers
My favourite place to hang out. I bring everyone here! The service is brilliant, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is always great.
Tammy
I really enjoyed this place. They have amazing cocktail specials, their food is good and our waiter was very cool, happy to change and add things to our drinks or food with no problems. Will definitely be back.
Varoushka Lubbe
Love! Their steaks, omw and their brownie is to die for?? literally the best I've ever had in my entire life!!!!!!!!! the same goes for my favourite cocktail. I've dined at many places and tried almost every restaurant's pina colada cocktail, but nothing comes close to Jamaica's. Waiters are super friendly, the vibe is awesome, the music is chilled and the food is gr8. However it suck's that they close at 11 on a saterday when u still want to hang out there and sip on some more cocktails with their R18 cocktail special on a saterday. Another downer is parking! it's almost impossible to find a parking spot on a saterday (and it's tight too, you have to be a really good allay dock parker). At her than that, Jamaica me crazy is awesome!
Dee Delekisa-Koko
I love love love Jamaica! Cocktails are amazing, pizzas and burgers are fantastic and their Lindt chocolate brownie situation is another experience all together! Try out their chilly poppers for a dance party on your tongue!
Jess Styles
A visited on a quiet weekday afternoon where there were some great R45 specials.

The service was efficient and very friendly. I was a bit let down by my pizza as I have heard great things about it but sadly found it to just be rather average unfortunately.

**Update** I changed my rating, which was previously a 3.5 based on my visit tonight. Our service was beyond terrible, the waiter would only ask one person what they wanted to drink at a time, wait for that drink to be made, then ask the next. One person got their food 20 minutes before the rest of the table. When I got up to ask for the bill as we needed to leave, I was told to go sit down and wait. After 15 minutes, still no sign of the bill, so I got up and asked again and was given a dirty look. The food was also very sad. I have never had a sadder pizza, it had almost no cheese on it! I will not be back!
Lufuno 'funie' Tshivhase
Amazing vibe, from the waiters to the music to the essence they burn.. i had very fast service, weak cocktails though. Was so sad. And chicken wings are not worth it..
Leigh Howard
Great place to hang out after work or on a lazy day. Love the atmosphere and the food never disappoints. The beer variety is large too. Service is a little slow but friendly staff make it easier to wait.
Nosipho Mahlangu
Must make a booking on a Saturday afternoon, especially if you want to sit outside. . Everytime ive been there always been fully booked from 6pm onwards. Such a nice chilled vibe. Must try the Volcano cocktail. A swirl of pina colada and strawberry daiquiri.hmmm. Half price cocktails on a Saturday. Don't know if they put much alcohol in it coz after 3 I still felt quite fine. Only downer is that I went during a weekday a while back and they said they weren't serving the volcano until later on in the afternoon. Surely something so good shouldn't have time restrictions. Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and the platters are good too.
Jaclyn Woods
Half price cocktails, yum! Make sure you go for those.

Food is delicious, and burgers are available for veggies (better than the meat ones!). This is a great place for watching sport, but book ahead. Massive smoking section upstairs (by nowaday standards) if you're into that. Highly recommend it.

The go to place when all you need is a cocktail or beer and pizza to share with friends
Chiko Kamba
Personally I believe a well executed Jamaican themed restaurant is a sure winner. Classics like Bob Marley, Culture and Peter Tosh always ensure a smooth, chilled night out. Amazing cocktails at even better specials (R18 cocktails ALL DAY on Saturdays - like, hello?!). Get your Jerk on with Jamaican inspired flavours that will prevent you from wanting to leave. Ever.
Definitely one of Cape Town's gems.
Aidan Van Vuuren
Awesome place to have a birthday party or as a warm up to a big night (although you tend to get stuck there).

I've tried quite a few menu items, the pizza's are really really good. I enjoyed the Caribbean platter, this works really well for big tables and the portion is huge. They've paid a good amount of attention to the décor as well, it's a great Caribbean / sports bar type set up. The service could be improved, but most of the time it's because they are packed, so you end up having to wait quite a bit for drinks.

**Meal suggestion: Caribbean platter
Rudy.regal
Absolute a hidden treasure. Amazing food. Reasonably priced. The waiters have a good sense of humour. The whole table was kept happy the whole time. Never had to wait for a drink. Food was perfectly cooked. From pizza to burgers to steak to calamari. Well done
Ant Delport
We recently had my sons 21st dinner at JMC. The food was excellent, service amazing and vibe what you would expect from this laid back category of restaurant .Highly recommended for large group who want to have some fun and not worry about upsetting the tables around you. Booking essential.

Can't help but rave about This place every time I visit!!! Yesterday late afternoon we decided to pop in to my favorite place as my hubby has never been here before. What can I say but awesome place, awesome people and most of all awesome food. My hubby is hardly ever speechless about food but he fell in love with the place as much as I did the first time I went there. So Thank you guys for giving us your best each time :)

What a fantastic night out with friends! From the get go shots were flowing!
Walking up the stairs you can tell this restaurant has a really relaxed atmosphere to it.
We were greeted by super friendly staff and shown to a great table outside. It was happy hour and cocktails were half price. It is a good thing that you feel so relaxed here, because our drinks took while to get to us, but we kept ourselves going with good conversation.
We decided to share different meals, from calamari, ribs, pizzas too chilli poppers. The only fault we had was that we ordered a burger for take away and turned out to be the wrong order (waiters shouldn’t feel embarrassed using a pen and paper to take down orders)
Overall it was a great night, great restaurant, great staff and I will definitely be coming back for more.

***Meal Suggestion: Caribbean Platter ***

Amazing place!! Hidden in Woodstock this place is just awesome to chill. I went there with my office colleagues and we had an amazing time. It was buzzing with people and the vibe of the place was so refreshing and lively. And hey if you reach there before 7 PM you get half price on cocktails. I don't know if it is for the entire week but we went on a Wednesday and this was a pleasant surprise. We had been served by one of their staff called "Kenny", whom I must mention here. A jolly good fellow and we got awesome service :). We had several rounds of shooters which were all good . The food was amazing as well. We ordered a lot of food ranging from Pizzas, Burgers and platters. Pizzas were a delight to the taste buds. It was absolutely an amazing time out with the team and yes Jamaica did made me crazy, in a good way ofcourse :). Loved it !!

I have been going to this place for a good solid 3 years now. I've seen staff join the family and also sadly leave.

I love the food, I take all my friends and even in my dating years all my first dates. Haha

I love the atmosphere that the place radiates. I love the little red, yellow and green candles on the tables. I love the famous 'jerk' sauce (I have a bottle at home). My favorite meal to order is the platter for two (I have it on my own) with a side of their onion rings. And ofcourse Saturday's are my favorites, where we go in for lunch at noon and end up spending a full day there till we ready to hit the clubs. Half priced cocktails on a Saturday, what's not to love?

I have had most of there meals and drinks on the menu and I'm very grateful for their Monday night reduced rates :)

I love everything about this little gem but at times the cocktails are abit warm, all is forgiven though as soon as you bite into your meal and feel a little bit of heaven happening inside your mouth.

I'll be faithful to this great place for years to come.

Thank you guys :)

What an amazingly fun little place this is. This year for my birthday I opted for something a little different and Jamaica Me Crazy offered me exactly what I wanted... The décor is exactly what you would picture when thinking JAMAICA "Cool Runnings" it's light, fun and the staff are just as vibed up...

Their food was amazing, cocktails were great and of course the shooters were flowing, we were a table of 20 and will say that the girl who helped us was amazing she kept up with all the demands and I am sure by the time we left this poor girl needed a week holiday!

The ONLY thing I could complain about was that every now and again and odd drink here and there would arrive warm as well as the shooters weren't very cold and would recommend to keep the shooter mixers in the deepfreeze. Other than that, I couldn't have had a better experience!

When you drive down Roodebloom road, you cannot miss them! The brightest Yellowest building you will ever see!
You walk in and you feel like you are in the Caribbean. With banana leaves covering the roof of the bar,and Bob Marley pumping in the back group. you are instantly in the mood to sip on a long cocktail or start speaking like a Rastafarian.

I heard so much about this "colorful" restaurant that I just had to try it for myself. And ,what do you know, they had a brilliant special on that night. We ate and drank for under R200, and had a great night out.

This is a hidden gem, and I will definitely be going back to them very soon.
