We went a-walking in Woodstock to get abreast of recent developments in the area and found this comfortable little place in Woodstock Exchange for lunch. The thirst was semi-quenched with a sleceted combination drink of ginger, apple and lemon served in jam-jars. This just needed to be more ice to really do the trick. However the salads were creative, fresh and delicious. We rounded off with home-made grenadilla ice -cream...oh my... that was a bit of heaven! Friendly, engaging staff and flavourful food meant a second visit was called for...this did not disappoint. Just think of the drinks being served COLD.
Delicious soups and cheese toasty which was real value for money in a nice setting ! I really enjoyed this restaurant and the manager was so sweet
Conveniently situated right underneath my place of work. Bicycle is a small little restaurant, but it's got a pretty neat lunch menu. I had a bacon, mushroom and cheese bun, and it was to die for. I cannot wait to try out the rest of the food over the next couple of months!
Dutchies and their bikes. Gotta love this place. Service wise very strong. Food is magnificent. Try one of their omelets! Or their beef roll.
So, following my previous post detailing the birth of I Love Foodies, it is now time to dive into the world of Cape Town’s culinary offerings. And there’s no better way to do it than with an account of a charming little hipster cafe – The Bicycle Cafe – in the heart of the up-and-coming Woodstock, a suburb that seems to be marked for artistic genius, offering a multitude of design, art, and culinary concepts.

This place is seriously a hidden gem. I probably wouldnt have found it if i wasnt lost. I stopped by for a quick coffee and as i entered i was fascinated with the decor all i wanted to do was take pictures. Coffee was good. Service was warm and the fact that it was in the woodstock exchange already had me hyped. Perfect for a coffee date
Cute little gem within the Woodstock exchange, hidden at the back around the corner :)
It was the only place still open at 4:30pm so that we could grab a coffee ☕ _ with my cuppa, I had a double choc chip cookie... Okay I actually had 3! Best choc chip cookies everrr
Oh man this place is cool! First off it is situated in The Woodstock Exchange which is just the raddest place around (just down from The Old Biscuit Mill on Albert Road). Then, it is decorated with natural wooden finishes, beautiful hanging plants and, DUH, bicycles. It is also home to some amazing coffees and exotic beverages (like maccha green tea) and is small and cosy and just makes you feel so cool for even being there. I have just gone for coffee which was delicious, totally affordable and served so beautifully (with the cutest colourful teaspoons from Amsterdam that you want to take home). They also serve their hot drinks in those stunning double-layered glass mugs which I am obsessed with (plus you don't burn your hands when getting so excited to pick up your coffee that you forget it s boiling hot). The whole Exchange is a definite must-do for any local or tourist because it just oozes Cape Town cool and charm. GO GO GO!
