Quirky setting with serene views of the Bergrivier. Abundant bird life in the estuary. Abundant pink flamingos can be seen as you drive along Bokkom Laan. The resident Heron and the ducks are fun to watch and such a pleasure spotting the many Pied Kingfishers. Sadly we didn't see any pelicans. We ordered a portion of fish and chips which we really enjoyed. We also tasted the salted bokkoms which are prepared and packaged here - R30 a small packet. There's some outside deck seating on the water. We enjoyed our time at Ek en Djy.

Authentic fish and chip spot, right on Berg river on Bokkoms Rd! Highly recommended just for the birds, location and quirky decor, but the fish and chips were great too!

Mid summer holidays in December the service might be a bit slow. Sit back and enjoy the tranquility of the Bergriver with boats passing by. Breakfast early morning is a must when the local duck family arrives for their nibbles from the owner and the pelicans and flamingos start their morning feeding on the river banks
On our way back to Namibia, we passed through Velddrif and found Bokkomlaan. What a fantastic view of the river and definitely on my bucket list for a holiday visit next to the river - on a zero switch! Found Ek en Djy Vissery and such a quaint little shop packed with things on their shelves. Funny, quirky and controversial.
Eating on a Jetty on the Bergriver - surrounded by birdlife... great, friendly service and staff.
Had a light lunch here with my family. Really nice place. I had a Pepper burger which was ok, expected a bit more, however quite tasty. Will defs come back again!

We enjoyed toasted egg ham and cheese sandwiches and they were flavorsome. Coffee and tea offered in smiling mugs. Enjoyed sitting on the peer.

Love the ambience and sitting on the jetty with a beer and watching the tide flow in. Food is not great but the beer is cold.
