Wow, Wow, Wow, Great variety of beers, and probably the best pork belly and pork ribs I have ever eaten. Best value for money and awesome atmosphere with friendly efficient waiters. Keep up the Great Work.

Had a late and lazy lunch here in a Sunday afternoon. Food was fantastic. Large portions, full of flavour.

Food is great! Fast friendly service with a smile... It is however a bit cramped and tables are extremely close together making mobility a problem. However if stuff like that doesn't bother you, it's really a great place with a vibe that you can go to and enjoy a couple of drinks and tasty food!

The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The place was busy but servers were friendly and helpful.

The place has a great ambience, awesome food, very professional and welcoming hosts (I was assisted by Helen) who made sure that I was lack of nothing and prolonged my stay pleasantly so. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Vanderbijlpark. Loved it.

Waiter got a bit upset because he used a wrong ice bucket and was reluctant to change it. Great place with great customers coming together for great laughter. Oh! They also have a tank beer 🍺 😀

The food is consistently good. Try making up a plate of eats & include the pork belly. Simply yummy. Look out for Gillian the beautiful waitress who is ultra efficient and super smart too. I love this restaurant

The food is very homey and comforting. Ice never had a bad meal. The staff are always friendly. It's a great spot for a meal with friends or family. It is a pub, so can be a little loud, especially if you have little children. Overall, I'd recommend to anyone!!

Horse and River has good food and I've only ever had one bad meal there (I asked for medium rare steak and got well-done steak, which I why I don't order steak there anymore). Every other meal though has been good. Portions and prices are also good. The service though can get dicey at times. We have walked out of the restaurant after waiting 40 minutes for two drinks - the restaurant wasn't very busy. And when it is very busy (the place is quite popular) you can sometimes wait a bit and things can go wrong. Also, if you are not a barfly then rather avoid the place in the evenings, especially over weekends (lots of tappets and damduikers with revving bikes and frequent fights). That being said, I organise our staff function every year and everyone likes to go there then for lunch and we've yet to have a problem with those events. The best time to go is in the middle of the month and before payday on weekday mornings or between 14:00 and 16:00. It's nice and quiet then and the food comes quite fast. Sunday mornings are also sometimes quite nice, as the aforementioned tappets are at home praying away their hangovers.

My absolute favourite Pub! I love going out to Horse and River with my family. It has been our Sunday lunch spot for the past four years! We basically have lunch their every week and if we do not sit-down we order in. Great and efficient waiters, AMAZING food at a reasonable price! Miss eating here since I moved away.

A true family pub and grill..... where you wil not be let down great service fantastic food. From young to old go there and always a good time to be had.

Celebrated my birthday there on Friday sitting on the verandah with much appreciated misting keeping you cool. Food was delicious, fresh and tasty. We had varied meals and did not wait long to be served even though the place was busy. Waitress was top class with a sense of humour. Prices reasonable. Will def be back.

Baie dankie The Horse And River Was Gister die eerste keer by julle saam met my skoonsus van die Kaap AF en ek van Sasolburg ons het lekker gekuier saam n wonder like vriendin en haar man Venita Boshoff en Louis en daar he EET dit was fantasies dankie baie geniet en Benita en Louis is twee wonder like mensies ek en Michelle het dit gate uit geniet dit was great.
