The Old Hatchery Country Restaurant - Underberg - Photo album

We had a really fun time at the Old Hatchery. We spent a night there before a 5 day hike, and then came back again after the hike for another night. It was the perfect base as it it very near many Drakensberg hiking trails. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food at the restaurant is great
Watched the warm sunset over the mountains as we dined. What a beautiful scene. Below us sat a little lake and kids play area. Very Friendly waiter. I particularly loved the salted caramel and the honey milkshakes! Chicken Burger was much bigger than I expected it to be. Definitely worth paying a vi
We only ate at the restaurant. The service was excellent, food great value and well presented. The menu has a nice variety and the portions are very good! Sorry I didn’t take a pic of my meal. I ordered the T bone and it was cooked to perfection.
The owners and place is amazing. They recently hosted my mom's 60th birthday over the weekend, could not have asked for a better place to host
Very nice, well priced food with excellent service and amazing views .
Just stopped for early lunch, food was great and service was fantastic 👌.
A lovely restaurant and pub, the food was delicious and very reasonable. Nathan was so helpful and we had a great experience there.
A quaint little cottage in the mountain. Friendly staff and inviting nature. The cottage does provide the essentials. The fireplace was really nice when it was getting cold. We did order food from the restaurant and it was received promptly. They also accommodated my little dog on our vacation.
Our waiter was highly entertaining and kept us well amused and quickly fed. The food was less endearing and the kitchen for some of our orders slightly wrong but with such a beautiful setting we found it difficult to complain. There is a beautiful waterfall and tiny lake with rolling hills and a spl
Friendly staff and excellent food, including many vegan menu items. The homemade vegan burger was mindblowingly delicious, served with battered sweet potato chips and onion rings. Pure deliciousness! The views are pretty spectacular too. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
We stopped here for breakfast and it was well worth it, friendly staff, delicious food. Very reasonable prices. And the location with its waterfall, quaint bridges and well kept gardens was relaxing and comforting. Located right next to the main road overlooking nearby farms with plenty of parking.
Lovely view... pizzas looked amazing.
