The vibe here is so perfect. The service is even better. Well priced pizzas and pastas. Only neg is our waitress added items to our bill that we did not consume, however that was sorted out. Loved it.
I love the vibe at Primi. The general ambiance of the place is great, they play great music. I had the Moroccan chicken pizza. It’s made with harissa seasoned chicken with a nice cooling herbed yoghurt dressing and coriander. It was sooo good, I almost forgot to take a pic😂
We had an amazing time. Even though we just had drinks it was really nice to find so great mocktails.Awesome electric lemonades. Really enjoyed the world cup theme.

On a rainy day in Umhlanga today, we stopped here for a mid-morning snack whilst shopping and were pleasantly surprised..
Service by Faadiel - incredible actually. What a sweetheart and he let us ladies chat for as long as our hearts desired whilst serving our food in-between uninterrupted. He even brought me extra Napoletana for my Foccacia bread.
Food - We shared a combination of Foccacia, salad and pizza and could not fault the flavor, portions or pricing.
Interiors - With Primi, you know in terms of their generic interiors what you are going to get before you walk in but I was still happy with it. Their 'Work Is Love Made Visible' is featured on this review actually.
All in all, a good meal and a spot that I would return to.

Primi Piatti has a nice variety to their menu.Every time I've been there the food has never failed to impress me.Their pizza's and pasta's are great! and the Litchi jam jar is my all time favorite.I enjoy the outside seating the ambiance is definitely more lively outside.The waitrons are really friendly and are always smiling.Primi is an all time family favorite.

Wasn't very hungry so ordered a margarita. My partner ordered recco -prawn pasta.
Loved the pizza crust, there was not much tomato flavour and balance of cheese overpowered it, also I'm not liking the puree garlic on the side just not pungent enough.
The recco pasta had some awesome flavours but prawns was waaaaay overcooked and sooo chewy #disappointing.
Well first I would like to comment on the most amazing service I have ever experienced from the moment we sat down the waiter was hands on. ABSOLUTELY amazing service our food was at the table in under 5 minutes now that I call service!!! The food was so delicious and absolutely tasty! This place ia really fantatic. Micheal is a extraordinary waiter, my compliments to the owners and management for hiring fantastic service embassadors
I like this Primi...it's generally busy and has a nice buzz. I luv their jam jars 👌🏽 My favourite meal is the chicken capagnola...a creamy garlic sauce served with chicken and pasta...really nice flavour.
The service was okay ,actually I was a little bit annoyed by the waiter being so curious about why I'm eating alone 😕like I have to explain myself for being hungry .The pepperoni steak alone was average ,I then ordered a Peri-peri sauce ,I added it to the steak and it was delicious !I loved their peri peri sauce .
The number one thing I appreciate on their menu is their pasta. Every one of them is amazing!
The wine selection is great- my favorite being Honeysuckle Sweet Red.
This is the one safety net I go to for pasta and steak.
I made a booking for a whopping 60 people and I must say that the service was beyond amazing! They were organized and the food came promptly! They split the bill perfectly and everyone left happy. The food was good and I had no unhappy or unsatisfied people! Thanks for a great experience!!!
We had excellent service when we went on a quiet midweek evening. Our waiter was very quick to offer refills and to clear empty plates. Thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains.
Been too this restaurant while visiting Durban on business trip. It's right in the famous shopping mall and has independent entry to it. Nice interiors and good music and staff. This was my introduction to thin crust pizza and those were awesome. Really nice flavors and it was done to perfection.
Well we went for brunch stroke lunch on a Saturday. It was not busy at all but service from the kitchen was horribly slow. The normal pizza 'a were good but the breakfast well really, omelette's were cold, I had a bacon one the bacon was just lumps of vert fatty bacon and there was not cheese at all. The others had similar complaints. So all in all that teaches us not to have breakfast at at pizza pasta restaurant.
I really like primi. There is always a great vibe here no matter what time of the day you decide to visit.
For breakfast I recommend two options. The French toast topped with bacon, banana and syrup is a safe and tasty option. The other option is the frittata which is a delicious Spanish omelette, quiche type dish which is delicious.
For a lunch or dinner meal I have to recommend the bacon, brie and red onion marmalade beef burger. Although it is only a burger it is a fantastic taste experience all visitors to primi should try and definitely a contender in my mind for best burger in durban.
Service is always good and friendly.

UPDATE: Mandla and his team invited the wife and I over and I have to say, this is what customer service is supposed to be. The food was excellent, the staff were all very attentive and pleasant!
My wife and I really enjoyed the food, and while the place was quiet, the atmosphere was great.
Well done guys, I appreciate the fact that Mandla looked into what happened durino our last visit and worked on rectifying the situation.

Definitely a disappointing experience here tonight! My wife and I usually come here and have one dish in particular, The Recco Pasta with prawns. Having visited after a few months, we were really excited about the meal. Despite the table service leaving a lot to be desired, the food was what we were genuinely looking forward to. Upon arrival, the plate looked as though there were no prawns, I figured they were probably just underneath the pasta, after eating a little, I found just a few shards of prawn meat (huddled together on my plate next to the bay leaf (see photo?).
This was all the prawn meat I could find, disturbingly, my wife had even less prawn meat.
I understand that companies are trying to cut overheads and increase profits, but this is not a good reflection of the quality and service I've come to expect from PRIMI.
I must also mention that the pasta was severely undercooked. We elected not to notify anyone as it's always a risk sending food back for changes in any establishment. The staff were aloof and not very attentive.
We were so disappointed by the food that we cut our dinner short, finished the meals, paid and left. We decided to go somewhere else for dessert.
Absolutely love Primi at gateway. I always order the Red Bull Twist, one of my favorite drinks especially on a hot summer's day in Durban. I highly recommend the Linguine Pollo E Pesto, its so delicious.
The place is nice and has a chilled vibe. I never get wait for too long to get my drinks. Stuff were very friendly
My first experience at PRIMI Gateway and I decided to try they pasta.. It was unbelievably delicious.. The best pasta I have ever eaten in my life..

We went to Primi yesterday and was attended to by a very good waitron by the name of Tino. Very good and very clear communication between us all. Our order was prepared quickly and to our requirements, he was very attentive to us as well. Our food was very nice and tasty.
We never saw or spoke to a manager and to be honest it wasn't even required at all .
Thank you Tino for making our Primi experience very enjoyable. Will be back just because of Tino.
Lovely restaurant and very, very pleasant staff. Today I ordered this chicken alfredo kind of thing and it really tasted good. Service was quick and efficient. And the Ice Tea was fantastic, infact the best ice tea that I have ever had. A great italian restaurant.
