Review Siam Restaurant - Umhlanga Rocks

Service was excellent. Food was beautifully presented. It may look like a flower, but no. It was a carrot 😁 The current special is R99 for a main and desert. I had the chicken chow main and mango ice cream. Both were yummy.

Wonderfully surprised at this restaurant gem. The lunch menu was delicious and reasonably priced, fresh vegetables used and delicious authentic flavours. I loved that there were decent vegan options without using any fish sauce. Even the rolled ice cream had dairy free options and the coconut is a firm favourite :)

Our first visit to Siam Restaurant ... For the love of Thai food. The meals were delicious! Spring rolls, clear spicy vegetable soup to pack a punch on this chilly night, Siam Angry Curry for me (to match my mood 😂) as well as an unpronounceable (but no less delicious I am told) chicken Wok Stir fry. A thoroughly enjoyable meal! Will definitely be back.

Maria, our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend this place with it's relaxed atmosphere.

One of the most authentic Thai tasting foods I've had in a very long time. Fresh ingredients, home grown lime leaf and Thai basil, and only fresh vegetables. The Penang curry is honestly the best I've tasted outside of Thailand. And R25 for a glass of good Cape wine, excellent value for money. Will definitely be back!🍷

Nice place, the owner/manager seems a little distant, doesn't interact well with customers. The food is usually good and the shaved ice cream the have is pretty decent and fun to watch. Edit: 2 years in and the ice cream is still good and I do not think the price has changed much.

While walking around Umhlanga we came across a small group of people watching something at one of the restaurants. Been the curious type, we waited to see what was going on. Our patience was rewarded with Thai Rolled Ice-cream! A great find. A wide variety to choose from. We will be back, for supper and ice-cream this time!

Visited Siam restaurant on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The service was good. The waiter was knowledgeable and efficient. Siam serves authentic Thai food. The items on the menu that were unfamiliar to us were explained in an understandable way. The food was prepared using fresh ingredients by experienced chiefs and it showed, because it was DELICIOUS!!! The rolled ice cream and syrup in various and unusual flavors was sensational. The ice cream was so popular that there was a steady stream of customers queuing for this delicious take away. On the whole, it was a very satisfying experience at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!!

The yumibowl ice cream is just awesome. Kids love to see how it's made. And it's uber tasty. Especially the gourmet death by chocolate. Not halaal though, so for Muslim patrons, I'd suggest Yumibowl only

Tried them for the first time when i was craving asian food and ordered their chicken chow mein special, with the tom yum soup and dim sum. Didnt love the dim sum but the chow mein was delicious and saucy, the chicken was well cooked and not overdone, there was really yum veg and it was cooked perfectly. The tom yum soup was to die for! Will definitely try different things from the menu. Ordered medium spice level and it was pretty spicy but honestly delicious.

I recently decided to order take-aways from Siam Thai for the first time. What a pleasant experience. The flavours were authentic and amazing. I had a rice paper spring roll starter which was a very large portion, followed by Phad Thai which didn't disappoint. They had a special and I received a free clear soup - was amazing for the cold winter evening, although I suggest ordering the mild unless you can handle hot! Will definitely give Siam Thai a try again!!

Tried a new delivery option ...was not expecting such flavourful Thai take out ...veg and non veg option with the soups dumplings spring rolls was simply delicious...thank you...made my Saturday lunch happy

Crazy ice creams and great food. Great customer service

The food is delicious!! And the cookie monster YumiBowl was amazing. We had great service especially from the gentleman that runs the bar. We did however have a problem with our food order. The food we received was missing ingredients that were mentioned in the menu. And the waitress that took our payment was very unfriendly.

You have to try Yumibowl! Also watch them prepare it, it's quite awesome. We really enjoyed it.
