Always have such a great time when I go to The George! The food is great and the staff are all so friendly! And the pomegranate G&T’s are my best! There is such a great atmosphere there too
Called in a couple of times while on holiday from the UK. Great pub and atmosphere, good beer great staff and made to feel welcome. Will definitely make it a pub to visit when back again.

My goodness! Their homemade Guinness Beef Pie was phenomenal. I highly recommend it. The prices are so reasonable for drinks here too which is another big bonus! Good vibes, nice service and staff! They also have a lot of regular specials so talk a walk by to see what’s on the board for the day. We will definitely be back again for more soon! Please post some pies to Johannesburg! 😂

The Jalapeños themselves are from Mexico.. I'll forever be saddened as no where in PTA serves them as good as here.

Hi everyone I was with 3 friends in this bar Saturday evening and after we have payed with the credit card the girl have see that we was a little high and she clone the credit card,Soo I say it is nice it is in good position but it is better to stay away,I can also prove what I say stay away because it is for your own safety and money also,stay away
Easily our favourite place to grab a bite. The food is incredible, affordable drinks and even better environment. It's always a good time when we visit, and you can't help but make friends with the people around you! 10/10
Fun vibe bartenders. Good atmosphere. The gin and tequila drinks were top quality. The bartenders knew their stuff and offered different variations of said drinks.
Awesome and down to earth place just to chill and have a pub meal in Umhlanga. Meals which are not as oily or greasy as typical bar food. Had the home made pie only after I saw hubby and my mom enjoy theirs so much. Delish. The vibe is awesome, more mature people who enjoy and appreciate what truly matters in life seem to come here.
I can't comment on the food as we only had beverages but the people were friendly and it had that old school cool feel of a proper established pub.
On a rare break from caring for my parents, I managed to get down to Umhlanga. Having practically been raised there, Umhlanga has a special place in my heart and the Village has grown into a lovely city. I managed to drag my cousin out, who lives in Umhlanga, but rarely goes out. We started our ventures at the George with a couple of beverages. Whilst sitting enjoying them, I decided to look at their specials and I am glad I did. I decided to try the Chicken Schnitzel with chips and I am glad I did. The schnitzel was tender and juicy and hot as were the chips. It came with a beverage which my cousin had. The service was friendly and very good, with more than one waiter/tres, serving us and checking that we were OK or needed something. Makes a world of difference when staff gel as a team and know what they are doing and love doing it! I will certainly be back there soon. This place is a must visit whenever I am in the area. You feel welcome, the staff engages you, and they have you drinking and eating in no time at all. They know what they are doing, know their drinks and promotes the daily special. This is a really cheap option and you feel like you're having your pubgrub of yesteryear. Absolutely loves it.
I enjoyed building my own platter, the food is really good and it's a nice place to relax and have a drink with something to eat.

Lovely place to pop into for a relaxing drink and quick bite to eat. Service was excellent and prompt. We will definitely go back there again.
