Review Little Havana - Umhlanga Rocks

Had my birthday in the private room. The food was really good and tasty. All 3 courses were excellent. Staff was so helpful and friendly with all the guests. It's definitely worth visiting or having a function

Either management or ownership change as its not the same but still great, wonderful ambiance to be for a relaxed evening. Nice set up, clean and tidy. We were served by the lovely, cheerful Nicole and truly made our evening ♥️ 👍🏾🙏🏾👏🏾🤞🏾👌🏾🫱🏻‍🫲🏾 spectacular. Delicious food. Tried a different dessert but brownie & ice cream is still my favourite. Books are needed to avoid disappointment.

The food and the atmosphere were good. The restaurant was not crowded while I was there for dinner. The complementary bread was soft and fresh out of the oven, and the sirloin with steamed vegetables and Rum & BBQ sauce was delicious. However, they sprinkled some course salt on the meat, which I didn't really like. The sirloin had a bit of fat to it, which I was not fond of. I ended up eating the meal without the sauce as it was tastier. I also had a double chocolate brownie dessert. However, the brownie was not soft enough to put a spoon through.

Lovely intimate setting, wonderful wait staff paid attention to detail. The food was wonderful, definitely recommend the bang bang prawns as a starter. Mains were hot and just as I asked for, dessert was rich and delightful. Perfect for a partners night out or special intimate occasion.

One of my favourite restaurants! The food and value for money is impeccable. The service is always great as well.

The venue is attractive and service is good. I ordered an ostrich steak without olives, & it came with olives & was overcooked. (They did offer me another meal, but the ostrich was tasty.) My wife and daughter had excellent ribeye steak and prawns and great dessert. Prices were reasonable.

Celebrated a birthday party in their private room with 3 course meal lunch. The service and food were very good. Had the potatoe skins, hake and chips and dessert of the day, Panna cotta. Everything was prepared perfectly. There was a miscommunication about the times to use the room, however it was resolved. Really appreciated the service and communication from the manager and waitresses.

An amazing restaurant with awesome food (don’t miss the fries that are fried with cold pressed macadamia oil) and even better wine selection. And the best part is that this exquisite experience is very affordable Highly recommended!

Blessing was our waiter. She was a gem. The calamari was amazing and the tartar sauce the best I ever had. My friend had Kingklip and was just as satisfied. The chips was also exceptionally good. If I come to Umhlanga again, I will visit for sure again!

Celebrated my sister's graduation here & it was one for the books. My whole family really enjoyed the intimate setting, the staff service (shout out to the lovely lady Nicole) who catered to all our needs attentively even for such a big group & even the pleasant surprise to congratulate the graduate. Generous portions indeed , with unique flavours that stimulate the pallet. I could go on but there certainly needs to be another visit ,....soon !

Definitely not the nicest steak I've had in my life. Despite the meat being dry, it was not medium rare as I requested. We were a table of 8 and half of our meat orders were not cooked according to instructions. Don't mind paying for good food, but this was definitely not worth the price. I must say though, that the service was excellent.

We celebrated my mom's 90th birthday lunch there yesterday and had the best service ever. Food was amazing and to Jade and her team...a huge thank you !! Jade is an absolute super star... and went the extra mile plus some more. As the Pietersen family...we would like to thank you and want to recommend Little Havana as one of the best!
Nancy Martell-morgan
fantastic fillet steak and the best dessert ever! Check out the “Not quite a cheeseboard” dessert. Heaven on a plate. Just delicious 🤤

Loved the vibe and the lamb chops were terribly succulent. Never (our designated waiter for the evening) was never absent and exceptionally attentive. Awesome ambience!

We had a lovely dinner for Valentines day. The food was great and the waiter was excellent.

I was at little havana for my birthday on saturday and I must say the food was so reasonable.
Joan Hovelmeier
Never again, overpriced and not good value, used to be good, but to pay for veg options is beyond me! Then had to put up with a noisy crowd next to us, not a nice birthday treat experience
Tracy Cotchobos
Absolutely delicious . Snail starters , salmon main was to die for and panna cotta was perfect way to end the night ...
Thapelo Moshoeshoe
Great evening we had with friends. All the meals were on time and to our satisfaction. Great service by our waiter on the night.

I have not eaten here for a while and was looking forward to a night in one of Durban’s famous steak restaurants. I was disappointed. The outlet is tired. The staff inattentive and sadly the signature steak poor. I ordered the Angus ( poorly presented in plastic ) and asked for it to be cooked underdone. ‘Bleu ‘ the steak was cut badly. It was medium rare. The sides very ordinary. Starters come from the downstairs tapas bar. I didn’t pay the bill but it can’t have been cheap. Little Havana has lost its top spot in uMhlanga in my opinion.

The food was delicious 😋 I had fatty and tasty bone marrow. My colleague's had nachos which apparently are out of this world!! Followed by lamb chops with mushroom risotto, the risotto was so delicious.

The service was alright, except for, the food arrived very late. The place was packed!!

The portions were also rather big.
Kenosi Buzzkill Matsebatlela
The stand out thing about this place was the slightly “different offerings on their menu”. So, for example I had deep fried tempura broccoli with a really tasty dipping sauce to start.

Their portions were also bigger than expected which is always pleasant!

We went as a group of colleagues which I think this was a great setting for.

The only thing I was weary of is their “we don’t split bills” disclaimer, if we’re going as a group of colleagues we need to split the bills and the mystery WiFi password 🧐. They ended up obliging to the bill split request and whispering the WiFi to each of us though which was great sportsmanship.

A colleague and I had dinner at Little Havana in Umhlanga and nested in the Umhlanga village. The inside was a bit stuffy and we moved upstairs which was quite comfortable because you were above the noise and it was a very smart set up for exquisite dining. We both had calamari starters. It was starters with squid heads and calamari served with tartare sauce. For mains, we had rib eye steak with prawns and grilled sole with caper butter.
Mpume Sibisi
Had dinner here last night. It such a relaxed spot mixed with fine dining. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I had the 200g fillet of steak with mushroom sauce. The steak was PERFECT and so succulent and tender👌🏽. I had it on a bed of the most lush mushroom risotto 😋😋. Hats off to the chef.
Qurisha Misra
Beautiful restaurant and beautiful presentation of food. However, starters and mains lacked seasoning. On the plus, we had great service. Even on a busy Friday night.

Probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. Arrived at 8:30pm, company of 4. Three of us ordered steaks and my husband ordered the prawn curry. The mannerisms of the waiters sets u up into thinking that the establishment and service is top notch/fancy. This facade became evident when something as simple as presenting our orders became a disaster. So much confusion from the waiters regarding who ordered what and with what side (1st red flag⛳). Medium to well steaks were ordered and all 3 steaks were medium-rare and had to be sent back. The manager apologised profusely, yet when they were returned, little improvement was noted. None of us ended up finishing our steaks. My husbands prawns were raw, the side mash was bland with little seasoning. We were told that there is a new chef. We were bitterly disappointed as we just blew R750 and left still hungry. I would never return.

How can a restaurant and service be awesome on the Monday night and absolutely mediocre on the Thursday night? I am talking NO service and the exact same steak we came back for, absolutely tasteless. What a disappointment.
Melanie Pillay
Just came back from a lovely evening celebrating my mums 65th birthday at Little Havana. We were a party of four. Sam our waitor was absolutely lovely and the manager was attentive.

Food was extremely good, we ordered:
the grilled prawns, chumichuri sirloin, fillet, seared sesame crusted tuna with a fillet on the bone. For starters we shared a starter portion of deep fried calamari with aioli. Then dessert was creme brulee and a bread and butter pudding with vanilla icecream . Overall the portions was generous, good quality food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Everything we ate smelled amazing and the food didnt dissappoint!

I will definitely go back and support this restaurant
Great music, lovely vibe, beautiful deco and atmosphere all added to my mums special night.
The added touch of writing my mums happy birthday message and name in chocolate was a fabulous touch and much appreciated.
The name does not match the decor
The food is good nothing amazing
Just a good dinner. Salmon was perfectly cooked
The wine list is impressive
The service is good
Vanessa
Food was sublime. Service was efficient and friendly and had one of the best apple cake desserts ever!!!
Restaurant itself looks elegant. Just missing the music to create a more ambient atmosphere.

I don't know if coming from Cape Town means that my expectations of a restaurant are unreasonable for another city, but I had quite high expectations for Little Havana based on the reviews that I had read. In the end, I was a little disappointed by the quality of the meal (although it was very reasonably priced to be fair). Overcooked steaks - for both myself and another person at the table - is a dealbreaker for a steak house. The nachos starter looked good, as did the tuna main. The service was good and the restaurant is appropriately decorated for a smart-casual dinner. I wouldn't return, but perhaps I was just unlucky with my experience.
Nqohbile Khanyile
Beautiful restaurant, great service, great food. Everytime i visit Little Havana the standard seems to go higher and higher. Their steaks are always done to perfection and Im not into dessert that much but I must say their desserts are a must have. This restaurant is in my top 5 all time favourites.

What a lovely restaurant. The white leather chairs and table cloths give the place an elegant feel. Had the seafood curry and it was really fresh and tasty. Our server on the other hand was not attentive and kept forgetting our orders. Was really not happy with the service. Despite the service we had a decent evening and I would pay them another visit.

This restaurant was a bit pricey but it was completely worth it! Ive never had such good food and amazing service!
I came here with a large group (about 11) of people for a friend's birthday and they were very accommodating and professional.
Loved this experience

Food: 3.5
Ambiance: 3.5
Service: 3

The vegetarian stir fried vegetables is really good. Great spot to dine at on a Friday night. Make a reservation to guarantee a good table.
Marcia
Great atmosphere, from the lighting to the set up. Delicious food and desserts to die for. Great for dates as it gives off a candle lit, romantic vibe.

Little Havanna is elegant and stylish with white linen, good glasses a low lights. And their steaks are great. I was planning on a steak with Bernaise sauce but opted for a special instead - rump with a crispy, deep-fried poached egg, exotic mushrooms, tomatoey sauce with a Bernaise base and grilled asparagus. I loved the showmanship of the deep fried egg, especially since the yolk oozed when I cut it open.
There was one order of sole at our table, one chicken peri-peri and the rest of us had steak. We were warned that the sole was frozen, but it was proclaimed very good, and the portion was generous (2 soles). The chicken was a deboned half-chicken that was impressively tender although I'm told the sauce could have been a little more peri-peri. All the steaks were cooked as ordered and everything was delivered at the same time (an essential that gets forgotten way too often!) The fillet served on the bone was an impressive sight. A large portion of fillet attached to a bone and served with a roasted marrow bone and gravy. I would never order this as the portion is huge, but I can see the appeal for a big eater.
All the meals were served with shoe-strings chips (I seem to recall there were other options but we all wanted chips, and there are a host of other vegetables but these aren't included in the price.
But the highlight of the meal was my dessert - the Not Quite a Cheeseboard. A poached pear with blue cheese, blue cheese ice-cream with caramel sauce and shards of caramel, this was something special. I could go back for that alone.
There's also a very nice veranda which is great for lunch or warmer evenings, and they offer a very good value lunch special which I've tried in the past and can vouch for.
The service was also very good.

Went here for a birthday celebration, we used the booked venue very intermit and separate from the rest of the restaurant. The menu is great, lovely prawn curry and excellent dessert. Will definitely be going back. Service was good.

Date Night on Saturday at Havana, as soon as we walked in we where embraced with friendly faces. The food is amazing!!!!!!! I had the lamb shank and mash which was a 10/10 and my other half had the bone in fillet which he really enjoyed. best cosmo i have ever had! The starter we had was the mushroom gnocchi which was delicious and to end the night we had the chocolate fondant which was amazing. Definitely recommend!
Candice De Alcantara
I like the atmosphere here & the service is really good. For a starter I had the pork rib special & the ribs were absolutely AMAZING!! I also tried my husband's chicken livers which were delicious. For a main I had the duck & was very disappointed as it was quite tasteless & not how it was described in the menu. My husband says the steak is the best he has ever had & I would also recommend the pork belly, it's very good!
Linda
Very very nice food and amazing service. Most probably the best dining in Durban, as far as I have experienced m. Very impressed with the well trained staff. I don't eat meat, but my husband does and I was jealous for the first time to not tasting his grain VS Grass fed beef. He said the difference was HUGE! #consciouseating

Really enjoyed a family dinner at Little Havana on Thursday night. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere for a week day so we were glad we made reservations.
The Camembert starter was delicious and the Moroccan chicken livers were enjoyably spicy. For mains we had sirloin steak, duck, calamari and a salad. The proteins were all tender and flavorful and the salad was well dressed with plentiful toppings. The food is a little pricy but the portions were definitely filling.
Service was great and timely even though the restaurant was quite full.
Simone Naicker
Staff were very accommodating seeing as we didnt have a reservation on a Friday night. I had the steal with risotto- it was slightly try. Atmosphere was great even though i was slightly disappointed with my meal.
Tamara Reddy
Little Havana is a lovely restaurant situated in Umhlanga. I have only been here once on an anniversary date night, and it was enjoyable. The decor is classy and the service was good.
Russel Roth
Nice atmosphere , very upmarket yet casual , service was excellent , had a fillet on the bone with side vegetables , fillet was tasty , grilled veggies very average, chicken very good as well
Mishka Maharaj
Delightful first experience at little havana. Spotless cutlery and plates. Waiters were ever so helpful and attentive, only negative was that interior seating needs some tlc. Starters of peri peri grilled calamari and squid was excellent and mains Mozambique chicken was cooked to perfection. Definitely the highlight of my aftenoon was the hot chocolate fondant!. It's recommended to make a reservation at Little Havana as it really does get busy.
Paula Norton
Amazing food, ambiance and service!
Will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing meal! Food out of this world especially the pork belly!
We went to Umhlanga for a long weekend and treated ourselves to a meal at Little Havana. By far the best restaurant I have ever been to. A little expensive but worth every cent. Their steak is the best I have ever had, service was excellent and desserts to die for. A little bit of heaven in Little Havana
Yana Aerts
My family and I were in Umhlanga for a weekend away and it was my turn to pick a restaurant on the 4th night of our stay and i chose none other than Little Havana. Might i add it being the best choice I've ever made. Little Havana was spectacular! Tender, juicy steaks with mouth watering sauces to compliment each other. Ontop of it all they have the most incredible desserts! I HIGHLY recommend the vanilla pannacotta, it will not dissapoint! As for service... it was proffesional, wonderful and friendly! We today still joke about returning to Durban from Johhanesburg just to go to Little Havana and somehow i dont think it's really a joke. We will be back soon Little Havana❤

Went to little Havana for an Anniversary dinner. Even though it was very full they were able to accommodate us. Atmosphere was great. We were served by Never, given great service. For starters we had the grilled calamari and springbok carpaccio, both were full of flavour and we really enjoyed it. For mains we had the prawns and lamb shank. The prawns were exceptional (and some of the biggest around) however I felt the lamb and mash were not seasoned well, and tasted bland. For dessert we had the pecan cake which was devine. Overall a wonderful evening. Left full and happy.
Fried Onion
Great all round experience. I think you might get slung out if you don't order steak, but it is so worth while. The snail starter (with three different sauces) and choc mousse-in-a-cup were both pronounced to be heavenly. Good, cheerful, efficient service and a busy vibe made it a meal to remember.
Danica Robyn Ellis
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! The fillet is outstanding and the Chocolate Fondant and Pecan Nut Bread and Butter pudding desserts are truly sensational. Highly recommend this spot! Staff is highly attentive as well
Catherine Arzul
Without a doubt the best restaurant I have ever been to. Classy and delicious food. Best calamari and tarter sauce, best prawns and the best chocolate fondant. My boyfriend said the steak was the best he's ever had. On top of the amazing food, the service was absolutely fantastic! I don't live in Umhlanga but if I did I would want to eat there every single night. Incredible.
Sajna Sivnarain
It is always a pleasure going to both Havana and little Havana. One of my favourites is the baked camembert starter. I was also pleasantly suprised by how amazing the springbok carpaccio was. Personally, I don't like the dimmed lighting, but I'm sure many
other patrons do appreciate it. And of course, there's no leaving Havana without having a chocolate fondant for dessert, which is by far the best fondant I have ever tasted.
Robyn Louw
What a pleasant experience! Little Havana is situated upstairs on the Umhlanga strip and has such a great Cuban vibe! It's not often you find a place where you cannot fault a thing. The service was superb and the food mouth watering good! This is a must try spot! Lamb shank and steaks were fantastic and amazing desserts!!! Yum!
Dan Bothma
Completely unexpected gem. Popped in here for a quick work dinner. Really enjoyed coming here - great vibe, nice and busy for a Monday night. Hands down, the best chicken livers I have ever had. Steak was on par and they served ice cold craft beer. 3 ticks for me #willcomeagain
Jaco
Most unprofesional service from this type of restaurant!!!Lady answers the phone and said we dont cater for take aways.First restaurant i know of with no take away option.Wont see us again!!!
Gigliola Conte-Patel
I love this place. The service is great and the food never disappoints. I've had the roasted marrow bone starter which comes with salsa verde and bread. It is delicious and very filling. On my last visit I had porcini mushroom gnocchi which was rich and a large enough portion for a main course. I also had a steak resting on a bed if risotto which was to die for. I highly recommend this place if you're a foodie who loves Italian as well as a great steak.
Kylie
Rated one of the Best Steak Restaurants in S.A and I now know why!
Rib eye with Gorgonzola sauce, fresh crispy vegetables, mouth watering 500g Fillet on the bone, Camembert cheese starter leaves your taste buds singing and dancing in complete satisfaction.
The service was impeccable, our waiter was very polite.
The only disappointing thing about Little Havana was that it was very colonial and the only South American thing about the restaurant was the music, I would have liked more South American which could still be presented well.
The drinks were also half our bill..
Warren
Beautiful decor
A smart stylish restaurant
The service and quality are in a class that is without question a cut above most other establishments in Umhlanga rocks
The two dishes in question were both meat dishes and both were cooked to perfection
Our waiter was very attentive and very professional
Will be back
Pedro
The venue is very nice, and the services is good. We had Easter Sunday lunch there. The name is miss leading, but then what is in a name. The staff are very professional and the management are really on top of things. Worth a visit, book in advance, it's normally full during the holidays.
Matthias Grabe
Average Food and slow service - after having in mind to go to SA's best steakhouse quite disappointing. Value for money did not fit, was very average or even below.
Trevor
Really is one of the top places in Durban for a good steak. We had oysters for starters, pear and Gorgonzola salad and calamari. All good.
Mains we chose sirloin, fillet. Excellent - prepared to perfection.
Can't go wrong with Little Havana.

Went old school here- my colleague ordered rib eye steak with baked potatoes/ sour cream
I had fillet medium rare with same sides
Done to perfection
The other main was seared tuna ( so pedestrian in a great steakhouse like this ) But by all accounts tuna was great.
Had the Springfield Wild Yeast Chardonnay which was outstanding ( R250)
Nachos as starter good as well.
Service was adequate without being good.
Must say the large tables + 10 diners were somewhat disconcerting. Seemed like December festive season parties all over Noisy but suppose that's to be expected.
If you want a great steak- this is it😎
Bhavika Gujadhur
This restaurant hosts such a posh atmosphere with service being one of the best however the food does not live up to the expectation of the place. The portions are quite small with prices being the total opposite. Definitely not value for money. The starters were great however the mains were a big let down. The chicken was based in sauce on the outside n the inside was dry n hard to swallow. Chops were of all random sizes and not even cooked properly. Would definitely not recommended this place.
Marcelle Bolus
Excellent restaurant for good food and service. I had the fillet steak which was great and the coffee is also super. Arrived late for our booking but it was no problem for them
Stefan
I have been to this restaurant a few times, I enjoyed the food and service.....previously!! I am sorry to say that attention to detail and service had deteriorated, and I have a feeling it's one of those eateries that are good in the beginning but once in a comfort zone there is a turn to the worst. For the money I spend I expect a certain whole package, and now that package is not offered any longer, tardy manager, tardy waiter, tardy hostess, the feeling is now..... We want your money we don't care about how your experience was. Won't be back, pity! I was so happy that there was a decent restaurant to visit, the new search starts again for a formal upmarket restaurant. Cheers Little Havana
Pantagruel
Restaurant was busy (holidays oblige), but the service was prompt, professional and with a smile. Excellent fillet on the bone. Decent wine list.
Mayuri
I simply love this restaurant. The steak was simply prepared but so deliscious. The atmosphere is a nice mix of vibey and serene. The snail starter was the best I've ever had:)
Maylen Zico Tian Minnaar
Loved my lunch this afternoon. Lamb Shank was absolutely tasty. My partner enjoyed his pork belly roast as well. And then what made it even more special they had our favorite wine. Absolutely loved it will definitely come visit again when back in Umhlanga.
Christopher John Penberthy
My second visit after being so impressed with the first time, unfortunately it was a let down, my wife's food was actually semi frozen inside (pork belly) and the skin was soggy! My Ostrich was tasty but a much smaller portion than the first visit and also warm as opposed to enjoyable temp! Don't know if it warrants another visit?
Paul Johnson
Not one driven to write reviews, I feel the experience my wife and I had here on Friday deserves mention. From the time we arrived, the dining experience was first class. Our server, Mbali, was an absolute gem! Friendly, incredibly efficient, and soooo customer focused. She is a credit to the restaurant. Even though the restaurant was very full, with a huge table of over twenty people. I couldn't fault a thing. The starters were excellent, I had the deconstructed prawn samoosa, which was outstanding, as were my wife's mussels. For mains we both had grass fed beef. Both the sirloin and rib-eye were cooked to perfection, being succulent, tasty and tender. The creme-brulee for dessert was brilliant. All in all a really good dining experience. Well done to all!
Robbie Proctor
Booked a table for 3 last Wednesday evening for my wife's 69th birthday and visit of son from Joburg for the occasion. Booked for 8pm. Arrived on time but had to wait for table to be cleared as restaurant was full. Waitress needed to go away and check what specials were left. Ordered 3 completely different meals that arrived within 5 minutes or before we could order any wine!? My Mozambique chicken was luke warm, tasteless and had obviously been sitting around for a long time. The other 2 meals were equally ordinary. How did they manage to serve 3 totally different meals in 5 minutes? We didn't order any wine obviously.
Greg Christy
I had the Mozambique Chicken which was very underwhelming . The chicken was nice and tender but the wing I could not eat as it was far too underdone .on the whole the chicken was far from Mozam style and a small portion . My wife had the steak risotto which was delicious and really enjoyable despite her preference being medium to well when eating steak !!
Ambience was good and service was good .
Celeste Jimmyns
Really great place. Although this restaurant is out of our budget, it's really good place to go to when you want to treat yourself once in a while. Had really tasty food, good service and the atmosphere is beautiful with a great vibe. Food portions are quite reasonable. Normally in restaurants like these, you need a magnifying glass to see your food on the huge white plate. But this place is quite good. Lamb shank was divine!!!
Marius Van Aardt
Excellent value for the Lunch menu special. Delicious spring rolls, nachos, pork belly, steak and desert. R130 for 3 course plus a glass of wine.
Line Wiid
Stinking attitude and pushy waiters their award "went to their head". The T-bone was the closest thing to "free range roadkill". If you book and don't pitch they charge R100 per head, how do you charge if you don't have the customer's details. Waiter was clearly annoyed when we did not want desert. Will never go back to this restaurant.
Richard Aberdein
A really great experience! The service was efficient, the meals quick and fresh out the kitchen. The food itself was incredible! We even received an educational show of different kinds and cuts of beef. Definitely recommend.
Diederik Van 't Hof
Had a superb dinner here. I list this restaurant amongst the best eateries I have been to. The Steak Tartare was superb - and a nice touch is the cooked marrow bone on the plate. The main dish was a Swordfish steak - impeccably done in a lemon butter sauce. Juicy and soft. The veggies were great - al dente and full of flavour. Misses a 5 because of occasional indifferent service when we had to call a waiter - but without a doubt worth a visit when in Durban. It is extremely busy, so booking recommended.
Lebo Chabana-Kubheka
Reservation necessary if you don't want to be disappointed. The food was great, their steaks are amazing. The service however, absolutely shocking!
Simon Trollope
Nice steakhouse. Great options on what steaks you want. Overall the food was good, but it felt a bit cramped where we were seated (I hate those awkward longish tables where you sit opposite each other and have to almost shout at each other, while the table next to you is closer than your wife is)
The starter was excellent, Camembert and pancetta, wow what a legend dish! Steak was as mentioned very good, but sauces (we had two, Dijon mustard, and red wine one) were bland and flavorless. Food wise would give it 4, but the cramped feeling and bland sauces dropped it slightly. Would rather recommend Bar B Coa just down the walkway when in Umhlanga! That's excellent!
Leigh Dermick
Loved our meal. The steaks were great, the sword fish with coconut and lime sublime as was the chocolate fondant. One of the best in umhlanga!
Jeandra Miquel Hufkie
What a treat!!! The service at Little Havana was amazing - I almost forgot that I was in a packed restaurant because the attention to detail was simply superb. Since, this review is primarily about the food, what more can I say but wow! The options were all so tempting but I settled for a good ol steak! The melt in your mouth perfection they called steak I will recommend to anyone. If you are looking for great food with an even better atmosphere then Little Havana is the place I'd go.
Mpho
This is an amazing place. I ordered their Mozambique chicken and it was moist and tender and very well seasoned. I would go back any day😍😍😍
Mike
Definitely one of Umhlanga's finest - food, cocktails and ambiance make this spot a real gem. Currently running a lunchtime special with three courses for R120 - with the same quality - an absolute winner! Love all of the pork dishes - the pork belly is excellent.
Ellen Van Velden
Beautiful decor and accessible location. Well trained and attentive staff and a beautiful menu selection. You're able to choose between grain fed and grass fed meat too - which is always a bonus!
Charlotte Tiley
The tuna steak and the ribeye steak are both out of the world! The food was so so good that I had an urge to lick my plate ;) Very, impressed!
Wayne
Always impressed with the great food and attentive service. One of my wife and I favorites in the Durban area. Great wine selection too! Go hungry
Kapil Jivan
Best steak house in Durban .. Always on point whenever I visit .. Service is excellent and food is always tasty ! Great lunch specials aswell
Sesh
Always a pleasure going here, service is prompt and the food is great. A table of 7, was attended to with a selection of mains, all happy customers. Lamb and steaks done to order and the option of sides and sauces are varied. A definite stop every I'm in durbs.
Sean Wainer
First time after recommendations to try it. Firstly, a more upmarket venue than anticipated and overall, very welcoming.
Service was slick and the waiter very knowledgable.
Order was taken and food delivered promptly. Whilst they tout themselves as, primarily, a steak restaurant, my party ordered various steaks, but fish and chicken as well. The food arrived promptly and was correct.
The meals were well prepared and delicious.
Owner was on site and present and that makes all the difference.
Overall an outstanding experience with nothing to fault.
We will be back.
Andrew Copeland
Probably my 10th time here and once again absolutely sublime. The tuna and bone-in fillet are fantastic. The best desert ever - espresso mousse. Highly recommended.
Colin Slack
By far the best steak restaurant in Durban! Their nachos starter is a must to have and the main courses speak for them selves

Very disappointing for this price range. The chips were not shoe lace as indicated on the menu but store bought mcaines. The extra barbeque steak sauce was All Gold tomato sauce with since chilly. Steak was tough. Overall I will avoid in future. A pity cause the service and setup was good.
