We popped in for lunch and a wine-tasting on the recommendation of another wine estate. Markus was so welcoming and we were really impressed by both their food and wine. The setting is stunning, really quaint and peaceful.
Clean and nice room. The establishment is beautiful and peaceful. The food and wine was very good. And the owners and staff were friendly and very helpful.
We stopped by on a Wednesday midday for a wine tasting. Welcomed by the German owner, who bought the farm during lockdown, shared the most heart warming stories about the latest wines, their respective origin stories as well as the community initiatives that have happened since. Hands down the best farm we visited in the area and one of very few I would make the effort to explore more in future.
Although the restaurant was closed that day, we had a lovely wine tasting featuring a wide variety of wines and a delicious Dalewood Fromage cheese board, hosted by the owner as well.
The property was set in a beautiful location, all directions was the views of the mountains and a private dam on the the property was extra special to the eye.
Beautiful setting, lots of space that offered so much from the accommodation, to the breakfast building and even small chapel which was cute. The soon to be restaurant will also be a delight in the future.
Just want to say a big thank you to my girlfriend who organised with the manger and owner for my 23rd Birthday. Was really special and thoughtful and a great team work on the planing. Overall, it was epic and would definitely come again. :)
We went to Tulbagh for a lovely birthday weekend. Our favourite stop was Manley. They made us feel like family! We did a wine tasting with the winemaker and the lady's name I forgot, ate a delicious chicken and bacon salad. We were there every single day while visiting. Thank you Manley. You will see us again!
I didn't had the pleasure to visit the Wine Estate yet, so my review is merely about the wine. The wine was already really good in the past but the new owner Markus and his team really elevated it to another level. Their new creations like the Chenin Blanc 2021 are simply marvelous! And I also really enjoyed the new design of their wine label.
Thank you Markus, the wine tasting was phenomenal. Markus, the owner, is such a good story teller and the intimate wine tasting was so worth it.
We were very fortunate to spend a night at Manly this weekend. The accommodation is lovely and we enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of a crackling fire in our room. We enjoyed a phenomenal wine tasting experience with the owner Markus, who entertained us with background information about the delicious wines and stories about leaving Germany and how he came to own a wine farm in Tulbagh.
When we are in Tulbagh again we will definitely be back.
I had the most beautiful visit at Manley's. Went for wine tasting and was served by Kirti. She was kind and very pleasant. Everyone went out of their way to make my visit memorable. And the wine is amazing!!! 🙂
My husband and I spent the weekend at Manley and we loved it!! Really appreciated the country side type of lodging and the peacefulness of the place. It is a perfect place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. The wine tasting was awesome that pinotage left us wanting more.....everything was just perfect. Thank you Ria and team you definitely made us feel at home.
Stayed in Suite 2. Really cute cottage with the right balance between rustic and luxury. Great pool and braai area, comfortable beds and super quality linen. Look forward to staying again in the future.
We were very lucky to have the owner of Manley as our sommelier. So far, Manley is one of my favourite wine cellars in Tulbagh. I honestly forgot how much it was exactly for wine testing, but it was less than R100 and FREE wine testing if you buy a bottle of wine. Their Shiraz is a must try here! We didn’t have a chance to try their food because we came soon after late breakfast as they didn’t serve food that early. However, I believe you would enjoy your stay with Manley because the surrounding area is fabulous.
What a fantastic Tulbagh experience! Such a hospitable winemaker and a delicious range of wines. I particularly enjoyed their Pinotage and Shiraz. Also had the privilege of enjoying a cellar tour to see where the magic happens. Will definitively pay them another visit. Highly recommended!
Spent the night here for my Birthday. Ria made it extra special by singing Happy Birthday with dessert and a sparkler. Had wine tasting with the wine maker, very good pinotage , every one is very friendly and the staff are amazing. Owners where very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. I had a lovely stay at Manley. The business is under transition of ownership, I am looking forward to seeing what amazing transformation awaits this resort. Markus and Elias, the new owners are very hands on. You can get a private wine tasting from any of them, or their very talented winemaker Joshua. The rooms are nice and spacious, very accommodating. The setting is simply stunning. The authenticity of this place is what makes a stay at Manley stand out in the area. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, Ria can cook the best food. While the restaurant is not “fancy” the quality of the food makes up for everything else. Make sure to try the bobotie and the malva pudding. :) I had a great time and I can highly recommend it +++++
Amazing owner and manager, room was clean and gorgeous. Owner really went over and beyond to help with a special surprise for my partner. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
We went to Manley for lunch today. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food, great service, great ambiance and even better wines! Markus even got us some wines to taste - stunning!
