Service was excellent, food was good.....but my only gripe is the constant changing menu items. I miss the early years of this Century when you could go to M&B and order your regular delicious item.

Experience was quite nice, Carmel done an excellent job as our waitress and service, food was absolutely delicious, will definitely come again for The Big Daddy Gourmet Burger and Bottomless Hot Chocolate, that Habanero sauce really brought the meal together.

Love that Mugg and Bean regularly update their menu so there is always something new to try. Thoroughly enjoyed my bagel with the cream cheese, bacon and blueberry couli. Very relaxed atmosphere and very attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Definitely a M&B I will visit again for breakfast and bottomless hot chocolate!

Decide to go get my complimentary Birthday cake today with my bestie Micela at Mugg & bean Blue route.Had the carrot cake. The carrot cake was so moist, fresh and indulgent. Highly recommend. Tasha, Eunice and Priscilla are amazing servers- friendly, professional and funny. Nondo the manager was so nice tooo. When you download the Mugg and Bean app you get a complimentary small coffee and on your birthday you get free cake or sweet square of your choice. It expires at end of your birthday month. Each time you purchase you get coffee beans and when you get 250 you get a free coffee.

The Rancheros omlette is quite possibly the best omelette I've ever had! Coming to this branch is always such a pleasure. From the friendly and professional staff to the excellent food, it's always 10/10. Evan was our waiter today, and he is absolutely brilliant! Keep up the good work, team 🩷

My boyfriend and I are regular customers at Mugg & Bean, but we rarely go to the one in Tokai. On one occasion when shopping at blue route, we decided to eat at this branch. The staff were very helpful and friendly...but that was the only good thing. We love getting burgers from Mugg & Bean, and we have ordered almost every one they have to offer multiple times. To my disgust, the beef burgers we ordered looked and tasted like the patty had been cooked from frozen out of a box (this is definitely not the usual)- and then reheated in the microwave before being served to us. The chips tasted like they also came straight from a frozen packet but not even cooked enough. The standard M&B jalepino sauce (that I ask for every time I go to a M&B) was 100 % Diluted...I know the green colour it's supposed to be and that was alot lighter! The ABSOLUTE WORST- was the Onion rings on the burger. DISGUSTING! I don't think the chef who made it would even eat them...they were so soggy with a lot of raw batter.

Favorite spot for breakfast over the weekends, especially after running errands. Really convenient and the staff are very friendly. However, there is usually a queue over weekends and staff are somewhat on a go slow. Their cajun chicken wrap is highly recommended - it’s delicious and their cappuccinos are always quality. I recently visited their restaurant and I felt a bit disappointed as my food took forever to come, and so did the bill. They definitely need to work on time management.

My wife recently downloaded the M&B app and received a birthday coupon for a free slice of cake. So we decided to make use of it yesterday. She had the lemon meringue and I had the caramel cheesecake. Both of them were extremely fresh and the cheesecake and lemon curd fillings really smooth. The base of the desserts was really soft and easy to eat. Wife also had bottomless peppermint tea and I had a bottomless sugar free berry drink (can't remember the exact name). Service was good as well. Have to commend M&B on the app and how you scan your bill to receive discounts and loyalty points and how it automatically relays any discounts back to the till. Great innovation.

Sad to say, the food was not well made, there were hairs in it and it took painfully long. Staff were friendly but really, the onion rings were balls of badly made uncooked dough with too much rosemary with a string on onion.

I've never had a meal at Mug & Bean I didn't enjoy and this was no exception. I did find the service here a bit inattentive though, being forced to call our waitress three times throughout the meal.

I love Mugg n Bean in general and the Blue Route one is one of the best. The menu is always changing (which can be good or bad) but their tomato soup and waffles are such winners. The cake slice portions are HUGE.

We waited at the entrance to be seated. Many staff walked past us and ignored us. Eventually I asked if a table was available. We were seated, however, no one attended to our order. We moved tables to be more visible and were finally attended to. I ordered French toast on whole wheat. When it arrived I thought it looked strange and tasted awful. I ate a little and left the rest. When the bill arrived I discovered the French toast had been made with low carb bread for which I was charged extra and not whole wheat as requested. Not once was my husband offered a top up for his bottomless coffee - he got it himself. Empty plates were not cleared regularly. All in all a bad experience.

Their chicken wings with celery and blue cheese sauce is super tasty. This branch is tucked away in the mall away from the food court. I almost didnt find it as I never walk on this side. I sat against the railing which isn't so great for people who are scared of heights. Service was good and i will definitely go back for a second visit. So many news things on the menu that are screaming to be ordered! 😀

One of the better run outlets- service is good and the place has a nice buzz about it even though it's in a mall😕. Ordered one of their giant cappuccinos which hit the right spot on a deary Cape Town day and a slice of a rather interesting sounding cheesecake - blueberry and lemonade sponge🎂- which I enjoyed. Nice one Mugg & Bean!

Just had a quick lunch and big cappuccino. Had Nachos with mince. Nice portion, well presented, good service. Coffee pretty good too. The place was full and buzzing. I think this is one of the better run M&Bs.

This branch always seems to be lacking when it comes to service, in my experience at least. The last time I was here I saw one of the runner waiters carrying my meal and then she did not know which table to take it to so she just put it back in the kitchen I could see it from where I was sitting so I actually had to ask my actual waitress to please bring my meal to me - which was surely not a good reflection of the restaurant. The food and drinks are always good, I love their new drink options and how they are served in new glasses in different shapes and sizes, but they really should work on their service in order to get a higher rating.

This is my favourite Mugg & Bean when travelling to Cape Town on business. Extremely friendly staff and the quality of food to match expectations. Service is always consistent. I always order the Bare Burger which is a winner every time. I look forward to my next visit to my home away from home.

Mom and I popped in here after some shopping to get a drink, it was pleasant to be there, and the staff were friendly ... Nom Nom Nom! This is the monster I picked to drink, hmmm Brownie Hot Chocolate! ... Was yummy but did get abit sweet at the end of it.

I went for breakfast at the Blue Route Mugg & Bean and tried something new on the menu. I highly recommend the creamy avo and bacon Benedict. It is Banting friendly as the eggs are served on mushrooms and topped with a creamy avo guacamole. Great service and good coffee made a perfect start to the day!

I went for the Eggs Benedict like I usually do when going to Mugg & Bean. The breakfast was one of the better ones that I have had, presented well but the plate could have been cleaned for just that extra bit to make it better. I asked for soft eggs and they were sort of soft. The tomato had good flavor and the hash brown was good too. Not bad all in all, just have to say really soft for the eggs.🙄

My friend and I decided we needed a break from shopping and stopped by for a cuppa and cake. We were greeted as we walked up and immediately seated by a friendly waitress with a big smile. Having walked to the cake display twice, I was still unsure which cake I would choose to satisfy my sweet tooth as they all looked so tempting and absolutely divine. Finally decided on the carrot cake, as suggested by our waitress, and it was so fresh and the frosting was just the right amount. My friend has the chocolate cake and enjoyed it too. The slices are massive so more than enough to share, but otherwise left overs are just an excuse to indulge at home again :)

What a disappointing meal. I decided to try the blue route branch, but it wasn't better than Cavendish. The coffee isn't good - at all, I had a scone, it no longer resembles a scone, it was flat and rock hard but then extremely buttery in the middle. Not a pleasant experience, the staff however are rather nice. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon

The Mugg and Bean in Tokai at the Blue Route Mall is enigmatic and a great meeting place for whatever business you have to discuss. Great food Great coffee (bottomless cups) Take cards yum

My son loves this Mugg and Bean. The owner is a lovely lady and always treats her customers really well. Hence why the staff do as well. Would go back again and again if I could. Live out the area now.

Suitcases And Lattes

Same good food but the wait for lunch just seemed so long. We ordered 2 frittatas but after 20 mins we were told they only have one available. Not a problem but it just seemed way too long to actually realise that. Food was good and waitress was nice.

Had two disappointing meals - the Mexican food is not their best and the stacker was pretty disappointing as the mayo in the chicken was terrible... Will stick to coffee cake and breakfast if I return...

We absolutely love this M&B. Granted, it's the closest M&B to us, but it's for so much more than that. It's situated right near the back of the mall on the second floor, so it has a fantastic view out of the beautiful glass wall and it's wonderfully light. It's also very spacious, and we have never had to queue for longer than 5 minutes, even on a payday weekend - that to me is extremely impressive. The manager of the store is wonderful. She has got a permanent smile on her face, shows people to tables and takes them menus, ensures that they are enjoying their meal etc. Makes such a change from managers that are often seen leaning against a wall and scowling at everyone, or shouting at some or other waitron. The food is fantastic, the coffee is to die for. Probably the only thing I could pull them up on is that the waitrons sometimes look a bit sullen, but other than that, stellar!
