Review Joy L'afrique - Swellendam

Katrina Hackett
Lovely lunch in this quirky family friendly bistro. Choices of 20 European, African and Middle Eastern dishes for lunch, hot/ cold beverages and cakes. Fantastic host Saeed can chat in Arabic - mumtaz!

The best falafel. Great coffee. Friendly, welcoming owners.

Quaint place, loved by locals. In season, tourists love it too Charming atmosphere & super affordable. Owner & his wife are hands on. She cooks & he's the face of the business, serving food & making guests welcome. Very accessible. A small offering of Saudi food, & occasionally something whipped up on the spur of the moment - like chicken cheesecake. Mainly a restaurant & coffee shop, good for get togethers & small day time functions. Gifts available (fashion accessories, a variety of bags, scarfs, jewelery) & home cooked jams & rusks.
