Del Forno (Sunninghill) I had the most wonderful experience hosting my son's 2nd birthday at this restaurant! The service was outstanding from start to finish, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They accommodated all our requests with a smile, making the event stress-free. As for the food, it was simply amazing! The menu offered a great variety of delicious options, catering to both kids and adults. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The chefs truly impressed us with their culinary skills. The restaurant also went the extra mile to ensure a festive and joyful atmosphere. The kids had a blast, and even the adults were thoroughly entertained. Overall, I can't praise this restaurant enough for their exceptional service and top-notch food. Hosting my son's 2nd birthday here was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience with great service.

If you’re looking for an amazing pizza, you have to visit this place. I love that they also offer the Banting cauliflower base with their pizza. I really enjoyed my meal. The pastas are also great. Keep up the great service!

I had dinner at this establishment and I must say the food was too good, I had Mexican pizza and espatada. Their selection of non alcoholic drinks is fair. Although the bathrooms are not separated to male and female and there was no paper towels to wipe my hands after washing them.

Everything we've ordered, from pizzas to burgers has never disappointed. Thank you for the great service!

Del Forno Sunninghill is conveniently located in the Chilli Lane on Top centre, which overlooks Sunninghill. It is wedged between Spur and Dischem and offers great weekday deals on pizzas and pastas. They are child friendly and have comfortable seating. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff pleasant. Apart from being on Uber eats, they have their own app through which you may place orders and score even better deals on their menu items. If you're in the area, go check them out!

We were going just on to eat some small things after work and were surprised how nice it was. I had a Diablo Amore (mushrooms with pasta) Nice .

I went to the Sunninghill Del Forno on Friday night because our friend Kani was providing the entertainment, the food was amazing , the service excellent but most importantly the wait staff were next level good , friendly , service with a smile.

Great food at great value for money. Date night Wednesday is our firm favorite at R350 per couple for wine, starter, mains & a dessert. Must try their pastas - chicken livers penne is my favorite. Also an amazing selection of burgers, pizzas, salads, etc.

Dinner during loadshedding. ^_^ Thankfully this store is close to home and not the same time as our lights off. Arabiata pasta was tasty and had olives in it :-D R75 Starter chicken strips with chilli mayo R47 good taste. The batter could be lil softer. Ambiance and music is pretty chilled and cool. We could do with loadshedding specials in SA

We had a very nice experience at Del Forno sunninghill. We had pizza n pasta which was very delicious. It has a very cozy n nice ambience. Perfect for family dinners. My kid loved the pizza.

Well priced, Cozy relaxed restaurant food always great.. Totally underrated best place in town to get a dam good bottle of wine for under R100 and good pasta & Pizza.. Service good.. I enjoyed everything,from the wine,the food and of course my waiter Liberty who made my evening there special, he's bubbly and very friendly. I had gone there to celebrate the national red wine day and of course just to relax and unwind....

My husband and I love Italian food and thought we had a found the perfect place. We go so often we have our "own" waiter Zandile...so when my husband booked for valentine's evening I was so looking forward to have wonderful evening. Not so wonderful...it took an hour to get our starter's??? Cappachio is not even cooked??? One hour...and only when I complained that we got the starter's....no foccacia with the mussels,no garlic,chilli or parmesan. The manager did come over..to apologise...I don't want an apology I want proper service...there were 7 tables that I could see where very unhappy customers... management was so poor..badly planned for a valentine's....we were surprised that the manager took our bill and we did not pay...thank you. I am just surprised that such an important evening was not planned for...no maitre D to "care" for the clients. Social media is finger tips away...and easily spread the good and bad. I hope this positive criticism can improve the kitchen service ...

Absolutely rude staff. I placed an order at 6:00. I was told my order would be delivered in 45 minutes. After 50 minutes I called back and I was told by another staff member presumably owner that I was lucky as it normally takes 2 hours. No apologies and the staff member who initially spoke to me said he told me an hour for delivery. Dishonest and rude. I will never order from them again. The pizza was also cold. Pathetic customer service.

I just ordered from Del Fornos. I had the Arrabiata pasta and a caramel/banana waffle. I’ll start with the pasta. There was no chilli , almost devoid of sauce and had a 1:1 olive to pasta ratio. The olive situation was just bizarre. I love olives but it was equivalent to me eating a jar of olives and I had ordered pasta. The waffles had the texture of a frozen microwaved waffle. No crisp at all, was like eating stale cake. The bananas and ice cream were good. I may have been more lenient if it weren’t for the ridiculously high price point and the expectations that come with that. Disappointed, hungry and a sense of guilt for throwing away money.

Midweek dinner date - such a great choice! Pizza is absolutely define, perfectly cheesy and thin wood-fired base!. For a place that seemed a little quiet, we were pleasantly surprised! Waitron was really friendly and efficient, cosy venue with Italian vibes and the menu has something for everyone. Really keen to return and try the rest of the menu!

Perfect customer service..and very friendly and accommodating staff.. was here for evening snacks... And ordered a veg burger and a chicken burger (didn't read menu).. but when the meals arrived..it had bacon.. when requested the staff was so kind that they replaced the burger...as I needed...thanks guys..first impression is last .. :) although I will not repeat my error :)

Disappointing pasta - absolutely flavorless pasta sauce. Perhaps the chef was still on holiday. Will not be back. Good service and the waiter tried to assist but the pasta couldn't save the day.

Friendly service and great food. We ordered a prawn pasta and a chicken pizza. Both items were great. The pasta and ingredients were fresh, flavourful and the prawns were ample.

Pizza is to die for, especially love the super thin base. Great ambiance and reasonably priced too. Only problem was Sandile who was either having a bad evening or needs more training in customer service.

Every occasion was greeted with kid-friendly and very patient staff.<br/><br/>This evening, we forgot our milkshake with our take-away order and Jean (I hope I got your name correct) called to inform us and sent a delivery bike out to get the forgotten milkshake to us!<br/>10 out of 10 for outstanding customer focus.<br/><br/>On the food quality level. It is a pleasure to get home and have crispy based pizza that's not soggy in the middle. Tuesday pasta special is great value for money. Pizza is great. Food overall good quality. Front shop manager is so friendly and helpful, makes you feel very welcome. Staff all very pleasant

I come to this Pizza del Forno regularly. Service is always excellent and Food is generally very good. The Pizzas are fantastic (I recommend the Bacon and Brie) although ask your waiter to make sure it comes hot or make sure that the pizza plate is hot especially in winter. The BBQ chicken wings are great. The lemonade is delicious, get the 1 litre its worth it. Milkshakes are also good. Not my first choice for dessert or pasta however I haven't tried many of either. Everything else is usually very good and very reasonably priced. Always a fantastic experience coming here!

Even though they make good pizza and burgers I cannot suggest you go there for breakfast . Seems the staff are still sleeping in the mornings. Orders wrong , food takes 40mins to make and they think Banting is a bread based meal !

Love love love this place! Have been here numerous times and never had a bad meal- the food is consistently good and you know what to expect. However what makes this restaurant stand out is the service- the waiters are incredible! They are helpful, efficient and friendly! Pizza del Forno Chilli Lane feels like a home away from home and that's a great feeling for a restaurant to have!

Visited this place for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the service was excellent.  I had the chicken schnitzel, which is one of my most favorite dishes, and it was really delicious and different. Hubby had the espetada and he enjoyed it. Will definitely be back

Tried this place on a whim, a result of our low blood sugar levels and a craving for pizza. Whilst it doesn't have much in the way of ambiance, there were still a good few people tucking in on a Sunday afternoon. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and our waitress might have been maybe too attentive. My son got the Margarita his favorite and there was no complaints, after all he is a coniseur of the Margarita. We got the Mexicana, one of my favs with some avo on the side and it was lovely. Fresh ingredients, full flavours and a crispy base, all the boxes ticked. Overall service was good and the food arrived quickly. Based on this first experience I can't really fault this place. Keep it up.<br/>

Average restaurant. Awkward location. Pizza doughy, tasteless & expensive. A let down considering the place is called Pizza Del Forno. Service ok. Area visible behind the till is untidy & shabby looking with a bin placed near the pizza oven. Wouldn't waste my money again.

I've been to Pizza Del Forno once before and it was decent. I usually have their takeaway pizzas and are quite up there in terms of taste, quality and freshness. Tonight we sat down to eat as they were having live music and we originally came for their steak special.<br/><br/>But upon seeing their menu and other dishes I opted for a pasta special, Parmigiano Scamone. It was 200g of medium-rare rump sliced thinly in a creamy white wine sauce on fettuccine topped with parmesan and brown mushrooms. It was really delicious and perfectly cooked all round, and the pasta in the sauce was surprisingly good on its own.<br/><br/>I had ordered a Caiperinya but it had a bit too much sugar for my liking, needed more rum. But really set the mood when the live music started playing. Which was quite nice, he sang some covers and wasn't overpowering - we could still have a conversation.<br/><br/>The service was excellent, with usher, waitress and manager checking up on us occasionally but not too intrusive. There was an annoying bee after some sauce, but before I could ask, the waitress arrived with some citronella candles.<br/><br/>It's the level I expect when I dine out but when it all comes together like tonight, I have to rave about it. There are so many queues other restaurants, especially in Sunninghill, could take from Pizza Del Forno.

We have been here a couple of times. Each time I have gone with pizza and it never disappoints. Service has been great and really do not have anything to complain about. Nice place to go for a relaxing evening.

This has become a regular joint for us. The food here is always amazing. Pastas done up with the right sauces, desserts mouth watering. The staff is always helpful and assisting

Pity that very few people must know that this place exists? I would hate for it to go under as their pizzas and pastas are very good coupled with quick and attentive service. They don't seem to market their Tuesday Pasta special very well. We found out by accident and it cost us R110 for two decent pasta portions. Try this place. It's definitely worth it

I always order the chicken livers which come with a focaccia. It's my favourite. The waiters are friendly. The set up is cosy. Nice little<br/>Restaurant for a lazy Sunday.<br/>

Perfect location as its so close to home. We were warmly welcomed and ushered to a cosy corner. Decor is simple yet effective. Our waiter was was very friendly. We ordered the peri peri chicken that had just the right level of peri in it and the vegetarian Lino with avo, pepperdew, rocket and feta, equally delish. The desserts looked good, however we did not try them. Look forward to trying them the next time.

What started of great very quickly deteriorated and left us with a sick feeling in our stomach. We walked anti the "new" Pizza DelForno in Sunninghill having experienced their pizzas in Randburg to find the venue a fully fledged restaurant ... Which delighted us. <br/><br/>As much as we had very good service and very tasty toppings, the pizza bases made us sick due to the fact that they were soggy and undercooked. We summarily sent them back and on receiving them back , due to hunger ate them. All this time eating the still undercooked bases. <br/><br/>My Mediterranean pizza was flavoursome and slightly better cooked than my friend who ate only the topping he scraped of the pizza leaving the base behind. <br/>We attributed this catestrophic Cardinal pizza sin to either a cold oven or insufficient cooking time ... For Both we were told that the oven was hot enough and cooked well enough. The manager dutifully phoned someone off site to find out if the oven was hot enough without physically checking. If tgeir chef can stand with his back to the wood burning oven and not get burnt then it's an indication that the oven isn't hit enough. <br/><br/>Whether I go back or not is debatable ... How can one cook any other food properly if you can't make your namesake properly.

A vibey Italian restaurant with live entertainment, friendly and attentive staff with a homely feel - modern and exiting interior design. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes at reasonable prices. KevFabFood had the beef chinchado served in a unique pizza dough bowl - very tasty and...

Always excellent service from Steve and his team. Food is served in good time and always spot on with flavour. Our new go to place for a quick meal in the area.

We meant to visit the restaurant but decided it was too cold outside, so we ordered delivery instead. The call was painless and our order came quickly. Payment wasn't a hassle via their POS machine. The delivery person knew his stuff. Our pizza, the Da Vinci, was slightly smushed in one area, but no biggie - it was delicious. The base was light, tasty, both crunchy and chewy - just the way I like it. The toppings were substantial and I was surprised by how tender the steak was. We'll definitely order again soon.

Pizza Del Forno has to be one of my favourite pizza places in Johannesburg. I was extremely glad to find out that one opened up down the road in Sunninghill. I've been there 3 times now in the past month, and the place is great. On my most recent encounter I was tempted by the Peri Peri chicken livers, they were absolutely delicious with the little pieces of focaccia instead of bread. I also decided to have one of my favourite pizzas, the chicken mayo, which is sweet, tangy and a whole lot of deliciousness. One thing that is lacking a bit is the service from the waiters which could be a little better.

Ordered the chicken peri peri pasta and i was told its creamy... Biggest lie and mistake!!! There was no hint of any chilli, it was chicken pieces in a bland watered down tomato gravy that tastes like the sauce you get in tin fish... It was sooo bad and tasteless...<br/><br/>The lasagne was ok but is made with the same weird tomato gravy... <br/><br/>The burgers hav big buns with a small flat piece of chicken inside... Really sad when you look at it...<br/><br/>Thats 3 strikes, will not buy again from here

I visited this Pizza del Forno for the first time a couple of days ago. It was fairly late on a Friday evening so the restaurant was very quiet. We were greeted and welcomed at the door by the manager who ensured that we were seated immediately. The service was good and our pizzas arrived pretty quickly. We ordered the Chicken Mayo pizza to share. The pizza was good but could have done with a little extra seasoning. The restaurant setting is lovely and offers a warm and inviting ambience. I will definitely be back!

Beautifully finished, friendly staff. Food was fresh and tasty. I had my stock standard favorit Mexican Pizza, and my Partner had the grilled hake with roasted veg. We both had a great dining experience. I do hope this little gem gets supported enough to stay.<br/>JUNE 2016 update: 2 really bad meals in the last month and I will not be going back. Quality of food has gone down and the portions are smaller.

I'm a big fan of Pizza del Fornos pizzas so when I heard they were opening a branch in Sunninghill I was thrilled. Being a cold night last night I refused to eat healthy and decided to have pizza and pasta for dinner. My husband and I were initially going to get take-aways but then saw how cosy the restaurant looked so we decided to sit down. We ordered the chicken mayo pizza and the peri peri chicken pasta. Staff were friendly and so was the manager. Food arrived quickly. The pizza was awesome. The pasta was good but I was expecting it to be a cream based pasta as the guy behind the take-away counter mentioned it was cream based when I initially asked. Will definitely be frequenting this branch as the restaurant is cosy and inviting.
