Nice and quiet... A nice way to start your day when you are here having a cup of coffee and some breakfast.

Waiter was wonderful and helpful. The atmosphere was congested though. Food was good! We had the wrap special on Tuesday.

This place has a decent coffee blend to offer. But the real attraction for me is the atmosphere. Warm with good service; perfect for brainstorming or even have a pleasant date (special thanks to Louise for making my morning lovely)

Very chilled place with good food and they have amazing meal specials from Mondays to Thursdays. Pop in and ask what they have on special for the day. I have meetings here as it is really cosy and you get great coffee while you at it.

Went there for lunch. The game was on and had a good view of the TV. I ordered a bagel and they forgot to add an element but gladly did it after I pointed out. The waiter we had was very friendly

The food takes a while to arrive but it is worth the wait.<br/>Looking at previous reviews, they seem to be out of date.<br/>it was tasty with great portions and the staff were friendly too.<br/>I definitely recommend you come and eat this food

I rather enjoy Julians! I'm usually only here on Wednesday for the Nacho specials, or on a Thursday for the Burger specials. The food is honestly great and I have no complaints about it. The only complaint I do have is that sometimes service is a bit slow, or our waiter forgets about us when we have finished our food and want to leave. Other than that, I definitely recommend Julians. Theyr iced coffee / coffee milkshake is to die for.

Friendly staff and great specials. However, I don't recommend you order pizza here; we waited so long and the whole table's pizza was half raw, and my boyfriend ordered a pizza with chicken and there was ham on it instead. Also, you have to pay extra for garlic, etc. which you get for free everywhere else.

Disappointment at its peak.<br/><br/>My girlfriend and I went there as a "let's try this place and see for ourselves" and we both concluded it lacked in almost every regard.<br/><br/>We sit down and have a look at the menu. I might have ordered something from their bar, but unfortunately our waitress didn't seem to know that were specials going on, so we asked for five minutes.<br/>Fast forward 1 minute and she's back. We quickly order some sodas, chili poppers for starters and a margharita with bacon, green peppers and feta.<br/>Give that over half an hour and voilà. Everything served at once, drenched in enough oil to get the attention of the U.S. special forces. Worse so, our pizza had peppadews instead of green peppers and was still doughey.<br/>In the past I've enjoyed chili poppers with salsa, cream cheese and guacamole but nope. This place decided that chili poppers should be served with tartare sauce and out of a prepackaged plastic cup.<br/>Our waitress would not know however since she never bothered to come back and check on us. Not even for our drinks.<br/>We sat with two empty glasses of ice for more than twenty minutes before another waitress stepped in to get the bill and clean up after our waitress.<br/>As you'll see in the photos, the food looks less than appetizing and isn't doing any favours for my stomach.<br/><br/>This restaurant has single handedly ruined chili poppers and would bring unbridled shame on the man who once founded this cafè.

Where to even begin...At first glance me and my boyfriend were not expecting fine dining, I mean we just wanted comfort food for lunch. The first initial greeting from the waitress was cold and I did not feel welcomed. We decided to go with the ye old favourite, jalapeño poppers and pizza (who could get that wrong?). Food arrives and my reaction turns from excitement to utter disappointment (don't think the waitress even noticed). The poppers looked sad, batter way too thin and the oil was dripping, obviously it was not hot enough. <br/>Pizza was mediocre and we got the wrong order for the toppings. To top everything off, my boyfriend is sick from the bacon in the poppers and my appetite won't come back. <br/>This places looked nice and casual, but me oh my was is dirty and horrid at the back, I could hear coughing from the kitchen and I will never return. <br/>Money not well spent!! <br/>

Went to Julian's for two for one nachos and after 40 minutes our two plates still hadn't arrived. We informed a waitress (not the one who originally served us as she hadn't come back to the table since then) that we had been waiting for that amount of time and were wondering when our order would be ready. She came back after checking the kitchen and rudely said, "you didn't order that long ago but it'll be here soon." We kept an eye on the time and it was definitely that long since we ordered so we assumed the original waitress forgot or put the order in late. The original waitress then came to the table to inform us that our order went to another table and they are busy remaking it. We were given a jam jar to share, the nachos arrived after an hour and were massive but had virtually no cheese.

Julian's mostly caters for students offering a suicide clock on the wall with drinks specials daily. During the day the place does not offer a lot of atmosphere but at night it comes alive for a pub-like vibe

Best nachos I've ever had! We shared this between 3 people and we still couldn't finish them! Good amount of avo and cream cheese. Very good service and great vibe

Julian's right on Andringa street in the bustle of the students and mall. We have enjoyed many cocktails here. Very sugary and very slow I would say. Prices are reasonable and they always seem very busy. For me what brings my rating down is just the feel and cleanliness of the place.

We stopped here for a bite after a long ride - also as I'd seen the promise of large portions, which I must say i was slightly underwhelmed about when our food arrived. I had a smoked chicken, feta and peppadew tramezzini and the bf had a burger with mushrooms. Both were tasty enough. Also, my cappuccino was decent!<br/>I can see how this place is popular in the eve with all the drink speshs and bar vibe.

One of my favorite breakfast restaurants. The coffee is great, the food is great and the service is excellent and personal. Their wraps are also delicious and at nightfall this cafe transforms into a great bar with their famous suicide clock! Definitely worth a visit!

Massive portions of nachos, we didn't manage to finish them! The price is pretty reasonable and the food quality is nice and generous, but not exactly gourmet. a good place to relax after work with drinks and snacks . The decor is a bit old tatty but the service is good and the waiters friendly

The Wednesday Nachos special is one not to be missed!! Can't wait to give the chilli popers a try on wednesday. Suicide clock never seems to dissapoint either!!

we get out morning cappuccino from Julian's thus far, it hasn't disappointed yet, unlike some of the other shops that make coffee way to strong

Julian's is a vibrant cafe/bar situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. On a typical day, it isn't a place I'd step into, the atmosphere is just too loud and cramped for my liking. I visited them on a Sunday afternoon and it was more relaxed. The waiter was really great, best guy to have ever served me. Their food isn't the best out there but they serve big portions at very reasonable prices. Will definitely be visiting them next time I feel like eating out on a Sunday with a tight budget

There's always a jol to be had at Julians! At night, they have round the clock specials where each 10 minute mark has a different drink special. This makes for a fantastic start to the evening! Also, when you're properly hungover the next morning, they have a breakfast special on offer that won't break the bank!

A nice place to start your night out on any day with some music, great specials and lekker people, but not a place where I will go to grab a bite to eat. Service has always been slow and most of the times they don't have some of the items on the drinks menu, especially some of the wines.
Jannie Kirsten
The service is horrible and rude. There is usually only one waiter on duty!!! The food is basic and over-priced. The venue itself looks poorly maintained. In general, it seems as if the "manager" is a selfish, greedy non-manager.
Monique Van Tonder
Julain's used to be called Celebrate. Either way, a great place to hang out. I haven't actually eaten there before but the drinks selection is pretty good and there's lots of shooter specials for those who want to drink socially in a more relaxed environment.<br/><br/>My friend and I went to have some dom pedro's one night but to our disappointment they had run out of vanilla ice cream. However, the waiter promised to make us a just as tasty suprise and applied hist creative license to bring us ... dom pedro's made with chocolate ice cream! It was surprisingly better than the normal vanilla dom pedro's and we actually suggested that Julian's add chocolate ice cream dom pedro's to the menu. It was so nice having the waiter bring us a tasty alternative.. much better than just hearing your order isn't available. <br/><br/>Julian's is popular with the students and also has a great breakfast special and lunch specials that change often. It's conveniently located at Eikestad Mall in Stellenbosch so if you feel a bit tired from all the shopping.. definitely worth a visit!
