We had an early afternoon appointment on a Saturday. Great atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. Staff friendly, with our waiter Enoch, very polite and helpful. Food was delicious and reasonably priced, with decent portions. Would definitely recommend this place for dining and intimate family functions. Great views of the estate!

....This place exceeded our wildest expectations! The Location on the Devonvale Golf Estate is Superb, the surrounding gardens are a beautiful compliment to this excellent Restaurant. The Interior has a magic of it's own, spacious, well defined decor even a Grand piano! And the Fire Place is an added plus, taking the early spring chill out of the air! Making it very romantic! The Bar area is open and not claustrophobic, so you can enjoy your drink even in an enclosed smoking area! The views towards the east is awesome when you catch the Sun going down, very romantic! Even the view over looking the Golf course is a sight on its own with a lake/dam! The Chefs 3 course specially selected meal with wine pairing is awesome! The starter is serve with a delightful white wine, the 2nd with an even better red wine and the desert is served with a delectable sherry!....the rack of lamb which we had was magnificently prepared, not over or under done! Food was Insidiously Delicious and staff absolutely professional and pleasant....A truly worthwhile evening spent here. ....A Must return in the future!.....10 out of 10!!!......

Despite being undermined at the gate, guards asking us what we were going to do at the restaurant, if we knew we have to buy food etc. Me and my wife we had good time at the restaurant the food was amazing and will definitely go back again.

My first time at Devonvale Golf Estate and we went for dinner at Chez Shiraz. The restaurant was fairly quiet (only our team in the restaurant). Placed our orders for starters (buffalo wings and mussels). Didn’t wait to long for the food to arrive. Soon after we’ve eaten the starters, we ordered mains (lamb shanks, fillet and kingklip). Lamb shanks were good, the fillet was more medium (ordered medium rare), kingklip was off (big disappointment). Had cheesecake for dessert which was good.

One of my best food experiences ever.

Came here using a daddy's deal voucher for a three course meal with wine pairing. It was long ago (I can't believe I forgot to review it) but I remember it so well and dream of coming back soon.

Although at first I found sitting on a golf course unappealing, I really loved being outside and the rolling green was beautiful.

The food was amazing - the starter in particular, which was pork rib with a prawn cracker and some other delicious things. We both literally dream about this dish still.

We started with a glass of bubbles each (it was really reasonably priced) and the wines they paired with the food went so well with the meal.

The service was really top-notch, and the waitrons were super helpful and friendly.

Overall, it was such a great experience and we agreed that it sooo would have been worth the full price.

Great little gem with an amazing view and such great service. The crumbed bone marrow with snails was to die for. Only criticism os the 200g steak... it was horribly thin, my partner had a 300g fillet which was amazing - definitely remove the 200g portions. Will be back soon!

First....we were stuck in traffic coming from town...and the resturant told us they couldbt get hold of us and therefore had to give up our table. But luckly they could still organise one for us even though the manager was very unfriendly. I mostly definetely didnt enjoy my fillet which was to dry. Most importanly the plave looked like it wasnt in SA. We were the only p of colour and its jot like we didnt notice the looks we got from the other patrions. I would suggest the place for anyone who is looking for comfort, inclusivity and entertainment. There was no live entertainment like they claimed....only soft music like any other place.

We went for their 3 course set menu this past weekend and the food was truly impressive and also well portioned for a gourmet styled meal.

The Grappa served with dessert was however quite terrible and every single table in the restaurant sent theirs back with the empty plates. Fortunately the included wine pairing was much more palatable.

My only complaint is that probably because we used a Groupon (even though it's slightly more expensive than their direct price, to make up the lost commission I would imagine) we were assigned the lowest common denominator waiter that made the Spur look like a 5-star establishment in comparison.

Surely if you used a marketing strategy like Groupon your want people to come back again...not push them away by delivering a sun standard experience.

Also their Google Maps listing is wrong. Not by much, but still.

Had a beautiful and delicious three course meal, we decided to try their wine and dine 3 course dinner. One of the main courses was delicious while the other offered rather bland dry meat.

Our waiter, Anton was superb. Easily the best hospitality I have had in a while.

The restaurant was empty with only three tables for the evening.

Chez Shiraz is perfect for a warm summers evening looking over the estate and mountains makes this a perfect sunset spot.

Nothing amazing. Nice decoration but the food is nothing to rave about. We both had chicken schnitzel the batter was overcooked and the mushroom sauce was runny. Sorry, not a winner for me😒

Came here for my mother's birthday. We were greeted with friendly staff and had some wine before our meals. We had the 3 course meal including wine, and wow was the food delicious! Only slight negative the waiter was not that knowledgeable on the food, I asked about the puffed pork that was served with the pork dish, assuming it was pork crackling, after not really knowing he told me it was pork belly, but clearly states on the menu that it is pork loin and I received pork loin with a pork cracker which was delicious but if you going to leave the skin on pork you should definitely make it crispy or leave it off.

All in all it was a lovely evening with great food, will definitely be back :)

Views of the picturesque Devonvale golf course and vineyards of the Bottelary Valley - this invites complete relaxation and serenity.

Every Sunday evening they offer a 'two for one' pizza special so a group of friends decided to try it out. I had the 'Something Meaty'. Others around the table opted for the Mexican & Chicken pizzas. Good selection of pizzas with great flavours. All tasty with fresh, delicious ingredients. We enjoyed a bottle or two of Provoyeur Wine, from the estate.

We satisfied our sweet tooth with some amazing desserts. The Chocolate tart was chocolatey and decadent served with a chocolate macaroon and white chocolate ice cream. Their deconstructed milk tart interestingly named 'Oops!!! I froze the milk tart' on the menu was different but yummy and flavoursome.

Overall a satisfying meal in an upmarket restaurant with a cosy, warm ambience.

We visited Chez Shiraz over the weekend on the Devonvale Golf estate, to take advantage of their Sunday evening Pizza special.
The restaurant had a very upmarket look and feel to it. We were welcomed by the hostess on duty who took care of us the entire evening. She had good knowledge of their available wines. I must say, unlike many other restaurants these days, their wines were all very reasonably priced.
The menu had eight pizza options to choose from, as well as extra toppings that could be added to any pizza. Between all of us around the table we had the Mexican pizza, the Dom and the Something meaty pizza. Their pizza bases are home made, which I appreciated.
Other menu items also looked appetizing especially their three course menu for R195. I will definitely be back for that in the future.
We ended our evening with desert and coffee. The americano coffee were also well made, with perfect extraction which delivered good crema! I opted for their Pistachio Cake. The other orders also looked good, especially that chocolate tart. All beautifully presented and a good portion size.

There are not many places in the Winelands area that is open for dinner. We had a bit of a get together with 6 friends and took advantage of their 2 for 1 pizza offer. I almost decided on the R195 3 course set menu which look really good. But I settled for a Mexican pizza and a couple of bottles of estate Shiraz 2009, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. Uncle Toni's Mexican pizza was good. Base wasn't dry or burnt, but it carried the toppings. I loved loved their chocolate tart dessert, rich and a satisfying end to the meal. The staff are good. Obtrusive but could of been on point sometimes, but I really want to come back for the 3 course meal to try that out.

We love to spend weekends in the winelands; staying at boutique hotels or golf estates and meandering through the picturesque landscapes. We have been delighted by some of the most unexpected wine farms and often found a hidden gem when taking a wrong turn or simple exploring an unmarked road.
We had a lovely weekend at Devonvale thanks to our Entertainer vouchers. The accommodations are excellent and generous.
Chez Shiraz offers an extensive menu covering burgers, pizzas, steaks, seafood and our personal fav - platters where we can share a number of tasty goodies. There's also a kids menu. They offer set menus; a 3-course set menu being R195pp. We love a good brekkie and Chez Shiraz offers an la carte menu as well as a continental buffet at R85 or full buffet for R150. An excellent price and well worth it.
Enjoy it all from the deck while watching the golfers or lapping up the panoramic views.

Wow... wow...wow... and another wow! My hubby and I went wine tasting and drove past Chez Shiraz after seeing them on Zomato before. We were initially there to have some wine and thought they would've been fully booked, especially because it was V day. They had 1 table open, meant to be for us. We had their 3 course set menu which was heavenly! For R 195pp and the view we had, it's a must for anyone and everyone!

Perfect spot for summer sundowners and a light supper. It's not overly full because it is a bit off the beaten track situated in the Devonvale clubhouse. Food is delicious (pizzas are huge) and the staff are very friendly.... But the view!!!!! There is also a small play area fot the kids. Definately a place to add onto the 'must visit' list.

We visited Chez Shiraz on a warm summers evening and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Our table was set on the outside deck overlooking the estate and mountains and made for the perfect sunset spot.

We ordered from the 3 course set menu and everything was really tasty, beautifully presented and fresh. Starters included a colourful prawn and beetroot salad and beef with mustard and tomato. For mains we both tucked into tender and juicy rump with onions and baby potatoes. And for dessert we ordered the citrus cheesecake with cream and the crumbed cheese with figs. I would go back for a glass of wine and a slice of that cheesecake anyday! It was so much yum!

All in all – good value for money – amazing views – gorgeous sunset!

What an amazing experience. Took my boyfriend for a birthday dinner. The view, food and wine were amazing. The staff guessed this was a special occasion and brought out a simple, but yummy dessert for us to share, compliments of the chef. Such thoughtful and friendly waiters/ waitresses and managers 😊

Great restaurant. Not a huge menu selection but the pizzas are very delicious. The wine is also great value for money not to forget the stunning views.

I visited here on the weekend for a birthday lunch - we had the 3 course meal which is good value at R170. You get a choice of 5 dishes per course, I chose the aubergine and camenbert salad to start, sirloin main and choc cheesecake to finish. Good quality food but the portions were a bit on the small side. Our waiter, Once More, was attentive and polite. Relaxing ambience
