Review Bartinney Wine Estate Tasting Shed - Stellenbosch

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a wine tasting at Bartinney Wine Estate, and it was a delightful experience. The "Tasting Shed" is charmingly decorated and offers breath-taking views of the valley below with lots of photo opportunities. The ambiance alone was worth the trip. While the tasting area was on the smaller side, it was not overcrowded during our visit, which added to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Bartinney offers three tasting options, and we opted for the standard tasting, which included three wines. The white wines, in particular, left a lasting impression and were a standout for us. Their other tasting options include a wine and fynbos pairing as well as a gin tasting, which looked very interesting and is something I will definitely be trying on my next visit. One thing that truly impressed us was their attention to detail, including using the correct glasses for each wine varietal. It's clear that they take their craft seriously. We also couldn't help but notice that they seemed to be quite popular, so I'd strongly recommend making a reservation in advance to secure a spot. Bartinney Wine Estate offers a wonderful escape into the world of fine wines and a serene setting, making it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts, and I am looking forward to returning.

I came here for a wine tasting. Beautful views, and a lovely location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, all the wines were great. Their cab in particular is excellent

Beautiful location. Menu is limited but they do offer some snacks/platters to have with your wine tasting. Their wine is truly delicious just a tad on the pricey side for the ordinary person. But would return for those views in a hart beat

Fabulous views! WOW! Stunning! Amazing service from Marc. the gin tasting was enjoyed, nice flavors. Also loved the olives and bread platter! Definitely a must visit again!

We spent a wonderful afternoon here 🥰 Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had a more personal wine tasting experience than at other tastings. We enjoyed this a lot. Also, the view is breathtaking. We really had such a good time and nobody rushed us at all, so we actually spent a couple hours on the terrace sipping wine, snacking on our cheese board, and taking in the beautiful scenery.

We hosted a surpris birthday party at this lovely farm and it was such fun. Amazing snacks, delicious wine and stunning views

Amazing place! We did a wine tasting here last week, and it was so lovely that we decided to go back yesterday. The wine is great, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the views from the terrace are stunning. Definitely would recommend visiting Bartinney.

Cheese platter was very good it’s enough for 4 people if you choose the cheese platter for 2 Service was great and very friendly staff Amazing view like absolutely amazing Seating is amazing I would recommend sitting upstairs and you get a full view of the mountains Super cute and friendly dogs Lovely place for wine on winters day

This is definitely a little hidden gem of the Helshoogte Valley, the entrance is very easy to miss but once you’ve found it, you’re on your way to some of the best wines in Stellenbosch The atmosphere is very relaxed and the view is absolutely beautiful Their wine list is very limited however they do have a few wines from other estates available. It is a bit pricey but it’s well worth it

One of the best views of any winery in Franschoek that we visited via the wine tram (burgundy line). The wine was very nice, we bought several bottles of the Sauvignon Blanc for our group. I also had a double G&T with the local gin and it was great. Easily recommended.
