We were sat in the back, outside in the open air. On a warm Stellenbosch afternoon, this was enjoyable. The waiter was super friendly. I had a beef burger. It was well made. I'd come back again
The food was great and the service from Lucky was awesome regardless of being understaffed and only 2 waiters to serve the whole restaurant. The management however need to not shout at staff in front of customers due to back log of orders. It is the management's responsibility to inform customers if they are understaffed and assist and support the staff.
Lovely place, awesome service and nice vibe. Went there last Sunday, and I'm a bit disappointed- someone puked near the stairs outside. The waiter just poured water over it, it went in between the tables. It was disgusting... Most people walked through it without knowing what is was. Luckily we just finished eating.

Always stay for a drink and food after having a look around the trumpet tree market! Great vibe, service is rather slow. But overall had good experiences with food and drink. Would recommend to friends and family.
Such a great vibe with the fairy lights in the trees above you. Huge pizzas with generous and delectable toppings. The staff are incredibly friendly and fast.
We went to Trumpet Tree for the Friday pizza special (R150 for 2 pizzas during lunchtime). The pizza was amazing with a perfect thin crispy base and plenty of toppings. I would've liked to see more pizza choices, but they do have a very diverse menu.
The ambience was casual, but the lack of music made it a bit dull.
The service was okay. Not bad, but great.
Delicious pizza and great beer specials from 14:00 to 17:00. Make sure to book in advance if you want to get a table outside under the trees.
I am delighted to go back every time. Beautiful setting outside and friendly staff. Great pizza specials, and the mac 'n cheese waffles are insane!! Best part is nothing breaks the bank.
I have waited since October to come back here...the mac n cheese waffles are out if this world. Not to be missed. Additionally you are most likely to hit up one of the many happy hours specials on.

I had the "ravishing" falafel wrap, which definitely fills the tummy! It was good and their homemade hot sauce is epic!
Unfortunately, I returned with a friend for some cocktails the next night - after waiting 20mins for service and another 20mins for the cocktails we ordered (which never arrived) - we walked out. It was late (10pm) and the waiters were running like crazy so fair enough. Still high recommendations!
What a nice place to go for lunch!!! Nice out doors and a good vibe. Food is well prices and value for money staff very friendly!! Will def be back.
What I love most about Trumpet Tree is that so many of my friends work and hang out there, so a quick dinner easily turns to a long late night of merriment.
Besides that, I highly recommend going there if you're into new and interesting dishes, a young and relaxed atmosphere and cold craft beer on tap.
The setting is great too, with a large outside area and raw wood and steel finishings to give you that rustic, yet cool ambience.
There isn't one single dish that I can point to and say, "you have to try that!" Because every dish is worthy of that statement. I haven't tried their sushi, but if the rest of the menu is anything to go on, I'd say it's a safe bet.
For a downright good time, Trumpet is the place to be.
We booked a table for 10 of our friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Most of us ate the pizza and that was delicious. I juts love wood fired pizza. Was a bit cold, but later they did make some fire in the fireplaces and that gave a lovely warm and cozy atmosphere to the place. Will def visit them again.
Loved it! Amazing pizzas (Sundays they have a 2 for 1 special), and the popeers were great. Lovely vibe, friendly staff. Even on a cold day you can sit close to the fireplace.

Ever since Trumpet Tree moved across the street, I was reluctant to visit. After leaving Stellenbosch, you really cling to all those old student memories and I was too afraid that this new restaurant would tarnish the fond moments I remembered of Trumpet Tree. But, when one of my best friends decided to have her birthday there, I faced my fears.
And needless to say, the new Trumpet Tree is great! The courtyard really is fantastic and due to the bigger space, that cramped feeling that was at the old place is non-existent here, so the atmosphere and venue is fantastic.
Service was also another highlight. We were a big group and the waiter managed to keep his head above water, inform us of delays in the kitchen and keep us happy throughout the evening.
The food was a bit of a let-down, there was no bacon in the poppers, despite the menu advertising it, and the pizza was definitely a little on the crispy side, but the craft beer and wine variety made up for it!
I think the place is great for just going out and having a few drinks with friends. I’ll try the food again when it’s not as busy and see what happens then.
I’m holding on to my old memories, but looking forward to making new ones too. See you again soon!
I go to Trumpet Tree often and it's really great. Love the fact that they now have sushi. A really diverse menu and a lovely atmosphere. The last few times I've been there I have had the same waitress, Tess and she is great! Awesome service. Awesome vibe. A must go!!
There is always a great student vibe, no matter what day or time of the day it is!!! Service is sometimes a bit slow, but the food is great!! Had to turn around a few times due to limited space - bad for me but great for a business
I used to bartend at The Trumpet Tree at the old location back in my student days - and I was lucky enough to spend a afternoon there with some of the new staff and old staff, trying out the 'new' and improved venue and amazing additions to the menu.
The Trumpet Tree is now in a beautiful location that fits them 100%. The opportunity to add various exciting things like sushi also rised after their move and I have to say, their sushi and dim sum are absolute winners. The Trumpet Tree always had a great range of beers on tap, and made provision for big sports games, and their inside/outside area is perfect for that.
Their staff are on point and super friendly students (mostly). A lovely place that will let you forget about the real world and that you can sit at for a few hours - even perfect for meetings too.

Trumpet tree is always a very social and festive occasion. They have a great area outside, the service is great and the food is always good, pizza being their best. Always a good time had here
Awesome pulled pork pizza !!!!! Great gourmet milkshakes !! Interesting decor ! Kind of place you go into and leave waaayyy later than you planned
I've only ever been here for drinks and pizza but the place has such a great vibe and the pizza is delicious! I definitely recommend the pulled pork pizza, it's divine!
Love this spot! Great pizza and menu and also love the bar. The vibe is always awesome and its a cool spot to watch some rugby at and have a beer. Love the decor as well.

Had the chicken and waffles here, and while it was a sizeable portion, it was a little dry, and I got tired of eating it all #firstworldproblems
