Review The Vine Bistro - Stellenbosch

Exquisite French cuisine, tasty and beautifully served. Beautiful views on Stellenbosch mountains. Great wine - estate wine, but also other estates' wine. Make sure you have time after your meal to visit the on site glass museum, with friendly and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Delene to tell you about this beautiful collection of glassware and art works. Even Salvador Dali!

My first time at Glenally Wine Estate! I must say I loved every minute. The food is amazing šŸ‘šŸ½ the service was all star. We even did wine tasting after lunch. Nothing better to end your lunch with exceptional wines to tast from. šŸ·

We dined on the Restaurant Week menu. The offer finishes on Nov 5th. Very Limited choice but v good value. Fab views from both dining room & tasting room upstairs. Lovely outside tables if it is not too windy. Food is French style Great option for a winelands lunch if staying in Stellenbosch. The wine farm is only a few k out of town but feels like it is in the middle of the country. Definitely book ahead Good for a group. We were only 2 when we dined yesterday but have been in a group of 8 previously They have a great cheese & charcuterie platter in the tasting room if you canā€™t get a booking in the restaurant

A truly wonderful dining experience. My partner and I have been to this restaurant a number of times, and no single time has it disappointed - not even a slightly undesirable sauce was made. The wines are excellent, as is the service and the food. I look forward to dining here when future events arise.

the vine bistro at glenelly was probably one of the best fine dining experiences iā€™ve ever had. i went there as part of the under 30s special for R290 which consists of a 3 course meal which is paired with wine. for starters, i enjoyed the pan fried pork belly, apple and kale salad with roasted walnuts. for the main course, i opted for the duck leg and it was absolutely delicious. the meat was practically falling off the bone. for dessert, i went for the warm melting chocolate biscuit and spicy poached pear and i donā€™t regret it. the biscuit was the best melting biscuit iā€™ve ever had. it was the first time having a spicy poached pear and it was juicy, for lack of a better word. everything was bursting with flavours and iā€™ll definitely be going back there for more meals. it is worth every penny spent!

This is fine dining...it certainly isn't a bestro...the meal I has was a combo for R265...Springbok shank with the option of starters or pudding... A good deal... The food was excellent, service was excellent the views are stunning...the whole ambience is warm and welcoming...there is an indoor and outdoor eating area which is great in summer...only issue was that we requested wine tasting while having lunch but was told no wine tasting while having meals... But it's something that can be looked into...

LĆ” jeunes a table is an excellent experience for under 30 year olds. R290pp (at time of writing) for a 3-course meal with wine, water, and coffee. The menu is always unique and gorgeous. Expect rich, generous portions of delicately crafted fine dining. It's the perfect date night!

Impeccable lunch at The Vine Bistro, with no room to fault the service, food or wine. Our table ate a 3 Course lunch, and we canā€™t wait to go back for another meal. Apart from the above mentioned, the views from the restaurant are breathtaking, with beautiful scenery.

We enjoyed an absolutely superb French-inspired dining experience at The Vine Bistro this past weekend, looking out across the amphitheatre of Glenelly Vineyards!

Ambiance:
The Vine Bistro's terrace, complete with a petanque court and the relaxing sound of gurgling water from their water feature nearby, makes for the perfect outdoor venue in the summer.Ā
Alternatively, their interiors are swayed towards catering for rainy, wintry months and offer a cozy ambiance complete with a fireplace for the winter, comfy leather banquettes and a traditional bar.

Wines:
The Glenelly range of wines is comprised of the Glass Collection, Estate Reserve and of course the Estateā€™s flagship Cabernet that is sourced from a single vineyard, the Lady May. Glenelly offer a range of wines that will pair well with a wide variety of meals, and you are bound to find something that suites your taste during your meal.Ā

Food:Ā
From the name, you will note that The Vine offers classic bistro lunches and dinners with a menu that changes regularly. On Sundays, The Vine Bistro offers an affordable set menu with a small range of options to choose from, but the other days are generally a la carte.Ā

To start, I selected the Quail and mushroom galantine with chicken liver parfait, baby leaf salad and pickled vegetables. For me, the highlight of this dish must have been the light and fluffy chicken liver parfait. Superb!Ā
For mains, I chose the Cape Linefish and Tarragon nage with summer vegetables. This dish had a rich, creamy sauce which complimented the linefish well.Ā
The plating of these dishes was exceptional!Ā

Service:
Hands-on, professionally trained staff, to match the theme of this top notch bistro. I expected nothing less, but was glad to see it in action.Ā

In Summary, The Vine Bistro has it all.. Stunning panoramic vineyard views, kitchens expertly headed by Chef Christophe Dehosse and Chef Alex Rykaart, May de Lencquesaing's private art collection (including pieces by Salvador Dali and Lino Tagliapietra), and of course their exceptional range of wines to compliment every dish.

For more, find me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter: LaurasWorldza

Lovely new place. Stunning setting. Shhh don't tell anybody. On par with the best in the Winelands without the crowds. I had lovely pork cheeks for mains and the best ever pork belly for starters.

Beautiful setting, simple table decor, enough menu choices and delicious food from starter to dessert. Service is acceptable. No liquor licence yet so you have to pay two bills if you drink wine.
