We usually go there if in the mood for German type food. Lovely platter for 2. The restaurant seating area feels nice and cosy, but if you are able to sit under the pergola outside, a very pretty framed view awaits. The cellar feels like one of the old-school ones, with dark wood and dimmed lighting, they do great cheese platters when wine tasting and we always buy one of their rosé wines to take home.

Amazing breakfast at the restaurant. Delicious and affordable food and friendly service. Tue atmosphere was warm and cozy thanks to the fire place.Thanks Delheim!

Just breathtakingly beautiful it was overwhelming. We went for breakfast. I had salmon eggs Benedict- perfectly made. The coffee one of the best I've ever had. Bf had the chefs breakfast. There home made pork sausage to die for. Presentation A+. I like the little things: the butter was wrapped like a sweety, the pepper grinder was a plastic bottle that looks like one of their wine. Service quick and efficient

Delheim has one of the warmest atmospheres with a staff that is passionate and friendly and would do all they can to make their guests feel welcome and have them enjoy their visit to their beautiful farm and facilities!Because of the fantastic food and wine, Delheim is a must-do visit during any Winelands tour or Cape Holiday!

We actually made a booking for Friday afternoon (for #RestaurantWeekSA) but due to getting food poisining the previous night from a well known restaurant we had to cancel last minute. We really wanted to go so randomly decided to go yesterday afternoon without a booking. They were completely fully booked, but the very nice manager, Junior, assured us he would make a plan and asked if we mind to wait. On clear days guests have a beautiful view across to Table Mountain in the distance. The restaurant offers a selection of dishes ranging from cheese platters to traditional German and South African food and it is really a relaxing but upper market ambience.

Waiting was no problemat all as they also have a really lovely wine tasting area as well were we tasted some splendid wines-would highly recommend their Cahrdonnay Sur Lie-pricy but really worth every cent (R160 per bottle). We did a tasting of 5 wines were you pick your own wines. You also have the option of adding a platter, some snacks, tapas or do a cupcake and wine pairing. 

The service was perfect and just after the wine tasting Junior and his lovely team (can also really give a shout out to the 2 friendly professional waiters who served is with a smile-even though they were under a lot of preasure being so chaotically bus-Assanda and Hillary) got us a table inside. After receiving our wine (we ordered the Chardonnay Sur Lie) and a jug of cold water, they said they just got an opening outside for us on the beautiful terrace. It is absolutely amazing sitting outside and smelling all the wonderful dishes passing by, all looking beautifully plated as well.

For the Restaurant Week South Africa special our starters were Cauliflower soup, quenelle of slow braised oxtail, sautéed fennel, parsley oil (ther eis also a vegetarian option of shimeji mushrooms instead of the oxtail). The soup was perfectly seasoned with parmesan and very smooth and creamy, the oxtail was perfectly cooked-long and slow and the sauteed fennel and parsley oil just completed the dish-it was truly one of the best soups I have ever had. It also paired perfectly with the Chardonnay. This soup is usually priced at R65.

When we finished our starters Asanda came back to inform us that unfortunately they are out of pork belly which was supposed to be included for the Restaurant Week special (Crisp pork belly strips, sweet potato fondant, aubergine and thyme puree, butternut, garden Swiss chard, tomato and pork beurre blanc.), but instead we can have any other main course or starter from the menu. It was difficult to choose as there were so many options and all of it looked delicious, but something stroke our eyes very quickly and my friend and I both had the Slow braised lamb shank in a Moroccaan rub, sauteed baby potatoes, seasonal vegetables, olives, harissa & yoghurt dressing, deep fried mint and a lamb jus. Ususally priced at R185, which is really not bad considering the quality and quantity.

It was a feast! The lamb tasted delicious, perfectly seasoned, a touch of a spicy bite, and falling of the bone. Everything else that accompanied it complimented the dish completely except for the harissa yoghurt-which is the only criticism I can give as it was totally unnecassary-the lamb was soft, juicy, flavourful and tender enough to be served on it's own. =) It is very tasty-don't get me wrong, but overpowers the tasty flavours of the rest of the dish.

After a lovely meal-feeling very satisfied we had some perfectly made cappucinos. For 2 restaurant week specials, 2 bottles of wine and 2 cappucinos the bill came to R750 without tip. 

Would definitely recommend it and be visiting again soon!

Had a lovely breakfast here. Friendly, helpful staff. Dont miss out on the awesome pairing of cupcakes and wine. Wow! The wine cellar creates a lovely ambience.

Delheim restaurant has the most beautiful view over the forest and a perfectly manicured garden. The food is nice and they also offer an awesome cupcake and wine pairing. We had our grad breakfast here and they really put in a lot of effort, they even made us menus with quotes on the bottom. It was very thoughtful. The breakfast was really delicious and the staff are also really cool. Well worth a trip

Came across Delheim in a magazine whilst on a flight, it caught my eye because they mentioned they do cupcakes paired with wines. I mean what more could you ask for!? Being a lover of both I couldn't wait to try it😁

I booked a table as this particular combination of tasting requires a reservation as they only make a certain amount of cupcakes per day.

When we got to Delheim we were seated by friendly staff, who attended to us immediately.

Wow the most decadent and divine cupcakes paired with perfectly selected wines. The cupcakes were also carefully selected as they all had unique flavours to them which included things like pomegranate, pumpkin and vanilla etc. My first time trying such different combinations of cupcakes. They definitely nailed it!

Definitely somewhere to try for a decadent day out! Can't wait to go back 😄

Beautiful setting, the cape Malay chicken curry was perfect. Great wine tasting as well. I will definitely be back. The menu is a bit limited but the food they do make is yummy!

Accidentally stumbled upon this gem this afternoon, and so glad we did! This quaint restaurant has the most incredible foresty setting, perfect for a relaxed, boozy afternoon. The cape Malay chicken curry was phenomenal- full of flavour and served with the perfect arrangement of sides. As expected, the Karoo lamb shank was perfectly tender and delicious, and paired with the Delheim Shiraz, it absolutely completed the meal and the afternoon. I will definitely be back soon to try the desserts!

Lovely views, service and food. The Platter for 2 was more food than we could eat, and a bang for your buck. The chicken curry was authentic and flavorful. Lovely experience

Delheim Wine Estate is the perfect spot for friends and family to meet up for a Sunday afternoon filled with warm glasses of Gluhwien, steaming hot pots of Swiss cheese fondue and fantastic live jazz music.

The estate is beautiful with tall green trees and pretty paths drawing you in (even in the middle of winter). The tasting cellar is warm and inviting with jazz & cheese fondue afternoons.

The fondue and jazz sessions are great, the cheese is rich and full of flavour with fresh veggies and bread to dip. The cozy tasting room has a lovely, homely vibe.

Here’s a cool fact – Delheim was the first wine estate in the country to serve food (almost 4 decades ago) and is still going strong today.

Beautiful picnic venue with an amazing spread. Pickled pumpkin and blue cheese. Parma ham, salami, cheddar, med roasted vegetables. Spinach and feta quiche and so much more paired with a pinotage rose.

We went for a Capcake and Wine paring event. It was very cool and interesting. Well worth the R150 per head. Moved to the restaurant for lunch after. Well worth the move. Not the cheapest place ever, but the food and the staff made it worthwhile. Had an awesome time and would go back there anytime. The food was awesome and the wine was great. Definitely worth a visit.

What a privelige to have had a sublime lunch while ouma Vera was there. Also had one of the best wine tastings ever. As well a glimpse into the reserve cellar. Great farm, with warm welcoming staff all the way from the entrance to the restaurant. Definitely my favorite farm.

I've been to A Lot of eine tastings and nothing beats Delheim! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is great. We had the absolute best value for money cheese platter in years! The road to Delheim is well worth it! Do yourself and your taste buds a favor!

Absolutely loved this wine estate. The food is amazing with a unusual menu. Staff of the wine tasting could have been more enthusiastic and shown more interest. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful lush garden setting over looking the valley. The resident dogs are to cute as they greet each visitor hoping for a little scrap from the table. The wine tasting room is beautiful with aromas of wines filling the air. The wine cellar is awesome. U can off set your wine tasting bill against your purchase of wine of R100.00 or more. They have the most incredible pumpkin and fig preserve. Which is delicious with cheese and biscuits.
