Yummmm. And they have an early bids special: if you order breakfast before 9:30 it is 50% off. The food is really good

Lovely pleasant waitresses.. ... Awesome chicken wrap. But a bit spicy for my friend, and the manageress replaced it with a less spicy choice. Her replacement croissant was excellent, and she was brought butter and jam for the left over top of the croissant. Excellent customer service. We always love their breakfast sandwiches too.

I really like this restaurant. The coffee is fantastic and so is the food. The service isn't great however as the waiters don't check on you often enough and seem to avoid your eye when you try get their attention. In saying that, they are welcoming and friendly when they do interact with you.

Happy to see this place much improved since our last visit. Efficient service with a smile, and the food is a lot better! Eggs benedict with proper hollandaise sauce and lovely sourdough toast. Plus a wonderful omelette...though do try and keep an eye on the mushrooms, as they can keep the eggs from solidifying properly. And amazing coffee. Keep up the good trend!

Fantastic food and coffees. Their baked goods are always fresh and scrumptious. My boyfriend had The Full Monty croissant which he loved and I had the Croquet Madam which was amazing. Very satisfying and filling. Something a bit different to the usual types of breakfasts. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's quite popular over the weekend so you du wait a bit for your food, but it's still within a reasonable time and waiter communicates this with you beforehand, and it's well worth wait for great, fresh meals.

My wife and I went to Ou Mel Bakkery at a very busy time. Despite it being busy the service was quick and on the point. Waiter was spot on with everything. Place is clean, looks great and vide is alive and on the go. Coffee taste was great, I do however prefer my coffee to be on the hot side. Food was great as well. Ordered the classic burger. Tasted fresh and delicious. You also get a side of onion rings which is battered with a local crafted beer. Tastes Great . The highlight was the baked cheese cake. Big piece, reasonable price and is one of the best baked cheese cakes I ever had. Smooth and creamy. Important to know, that their cheese cake is very popular and you might be in a situation where you want to order the cheese cake, but it might be sold out. I definitely will go again and will order the cheese cake again if available. The Prices on menu is on the standards expensive side. Like one would get at Mug and Bean. If the main meal where R 10 rand cheaper I would go there more often.

After a tiring day, Ethan my waiter suggested I try millionaire shortbread with my coffee. It made all the difference to my day. Now today again, I popped in for burgers instead of making supper. The service and friendliness is excellent. Thank you Buli and staff. Happy customer here.

We love to go to Ou Meul. It's distinctive feature is the sour dough bread. Yesterday I had banana bread. Unfortunately it was a little bit burnt, but the honey-butter and baked banana were excellent, as well as the red cappucino. The decor in Somerset Mall needs a little upgrading, but the service was quite good.

Really good pasteries! Try out the golden milk latte.

When Dave and I moved to Gordons Bay in 2001 our holiday destination was always Sedgefield. This was close enough for us to go away for a long weekend. And there were two resorts we could stay at which offered great activities for the boys. Mark first told us about Ou Meul (Old Mill) when he and James went to Port Elizabeth on a bus journey. They stopped there for pies and waxed lyrical about them. From a small farmstall selling puff pastry pies, to a growing enterprise, Ou Meul in Riviersonderend is the place we always stop for breakfast when we are on a road trip.

Met a friend here for afternoon tea. Had the last slice of chocolate cake - it was ok, but tasted like it stood for quite a while and dried out. My friend had the bacon and cheese croissant, which she enjoyed.

This place does relatively good burgers, pies and breakfast. But not sure I’ll opt for the cake here next time.

Looooove this place!!! Great breakfast/lunch spot and good coffee close to the mall entrance. Food and drinks are prepared with love and attention. Never been disappointed and will keep coming back!

Trying out one of the better styled coffee shops in the Sommerset Mall. Had an hour to kill before my appointment and thought I would give it a go. The decor closely resembles that of the Bootlegger outlets and sitting down turns out that’s who supplies the coffee. The lighting is nice and the wood and black finishes give a warm inviting atmosphere.

I ordered a flat white and since the coffee is from the Bootlegger I expected it to be the same predictable rich taste I’m accustomed to from the outlet. Unfortunately it was burnt and served far too hot with really poor foam quality. Not a winner - a trained barista from the Bootlegger needs to come sort out your machine or at least train your staff how to prepare a decent cuppa. The hot chocolate wasn’t much of a redeeming factor either as it tasted very watered down. Hot chocolate with mainly water and possibly a dash of milk to hide the fact does not a hot chocolate make. The super sweet Illovo chocolate syrup doesn’t do anything for the already sweet watered down drink.

My meatball open sandwich was nothing to write home about. The bread crust was far to hard to cut through and eat so most of the crust I just pushed to the side. The tomato sauce didn’t help the middle of the bread which ended up turning into a cheesy mush.Flavours are dull and nothing really stands out.

The Siracha chicken open sandwich was a bit better. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. A bit less Siracha sauce would allow the fresh rocket and avo to come through. The bread on this sandwich was better than on the meatball dish.

Overall the shop is trendy looking, the staff look lost and are slow with service with you having to keep repeating yourself. The food could be upped a notch especially at the price point. Sometimes less of something of a higher quality is more.

Had an hour to kill and needed lunch stopped by here. The service awe dreadful it took 10 minutes to get a menu and place a coffee order. The classic burger was fair nothing special, sweet potatoes fries were let down. I find the brand of coffee (can't remember it now) to be too dark a roast.

Caution to working folk the power plugs o the outer bench was out of order so I couldn't get any work done.

Still probably one of the better spots in the mall but there isn't much competition.

Pleasantly surprised after being disappointed at the other branches. Ashley, the waiter, is a rockstar. The food was devine and the coffee even better.

Coffee...Cake...Cape Town....some of my few favourite things! What can be better than enjoying a cup of coffee that is happiness tasted and time well spent!

Oumeul is a great little artisan bakery inside the Somerset mall selling delicious baked goods and pastries that taste a little bit like heaven. It is a warming place to relax and enjoy a delightful cup of coffee.

The staff is super efficient and friendly. We opted for a slice of cheesecake to share and the waiter took the initiative to cut the cheesecake in half and put on separate plates for us to enjoy.

Definitely a relaxing place where good coffee is a pleasure!
After a day of wine tasting we needed some sweet and a good coffee to pick us back up. We found that a few Oumeul Bakeries had started popping up around the Mother City and I instantly liked the whole steampunk theme that seems to be the in thing right about now.

So I'm rating a cup of coffee and half a slice of cheesecake so don't judge me. The cheesecake was the last slice and our waiter was kind enough to slice it and present it on separate plates. Coffees were decent enough to be fresh and robust and not the weak as a cup of Ricoffy.

I do like the staff here. People with a personality above a dial tone.

Lovely decor, and friendly service. The coffee is a roast that's too strong for me, but care is taken with the milk to make a great latte. Their sourdough is a winner, we even bought some to take home. Of the food we had, our son had the best one - toasted banana bread with honey butter. It's a great, affordable great at R30.

Mall-based with excellent coffee and attentive service, which is always a win! I didn't eat, but there were some interesting looking teatime snacks being served. A credible alternative to W.Cafe.
