Well, a spur of the moment decision as I left the airport to treat us to dinner out was well rewarded as we walked into the revamped Baron. Although no prior booking being made, we were graciously accommodated and ushered to our seats. Starters of stuffed crumbed mushrooms were a joy to share. The main ( a fillet prepared in heaven) which we shared was without doubt the best I have tasted in my 51 years....Yes, it really was that good. The traditional sides, fresh, perfectly crisp chips and generous portion of onion rings were bang on the money for taste and portion size. Will we back?? Probably a monthly treat from now on, twice in payday bonus month.

So nice to go in there and not find the dingy dark place that was. Looks stunning with all the additional light. Service and food excellent.

Best Spare Ribs! Wonderful lunch!
The food and service was really devine!! We opted for the Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the meal. Just a note to manager - We were thinking about turning around after seeing the bad outside appearance from the side of the building. Really neglected on the ground floor (other place) We found cattle baron with "google maps" and landed on the side with parking area. But glad we continoued. Maybe something can be done about that?

Whether you find your way there for a fun evening with family or friends, or a romantic dinner for two, it's really worth a visit! Although the restaurant has been around for a while, we've only rediscovered it recently. We weren't particularly impressed with the food before, but we are now! They have a nice selection of wines, though some are a bit pricey, and you'll enjoy some great steaks, super-friendly service and I, for one, simply love the interior. It's classy and stylish, and suits the dinner atmosphere perfectly! We'll certainly be back.
I went to this place for my 18th birthday, and I must say I'm really impressed by the overall staff friendliness and food quality. I had a T-bone steak and it was so delicious. Not to mention their chips are some of the best I've ever had, super crispy on the outside with a really fluffy interior. The restaurant has a really nice interior, my only problem was with the booth we sat at, we felt very cramped and almost felt like we'd get overlooked (we didn't get overlooked)
We have just had an excellent meal at the Cattle Baron Somerset West. The food and service was excellent and we were very well looked after. Three of us had steak and my wife had the sea food combo. We will be going back again, great all round.

Although the Tuesday steak night is a good deal., we found the sirloin to be a bit chewy but not so much that we couldn't eat it. Nice play room for kiddies. Very good service from the waiter.
This branch is visibly quite an old branch, which is notable from the old menus and style used in the restaurant. The food is still very good however, and they don't charge any corkage which makes it the perfect place to take that good wine of yours with to pair with good food. They also have amazing specials to offer on various days.
Burgers here are something special, the sauce variety is great and can make them pretty unique, and as far as burger patties go these are some of the best. The pork ribs are alright, they taste good but the meat clings to the bone a bit toughly for my liking. The steaks however, those are the signature of Cattle Baron, and with those you can't go wrong.
Very dependable and great food. But loses a star because of the service standards.
It wonβt stop me going back - but some of the sloppiness can so easily be fixed
Anyway - relax with a good red and eat fine steak - the pain will go away.......
