Review Steffanie's Place - Somerset West

Very elegant venue, great staff everyone is very friendly and efficient. I had the chef's choice sirloin, it was perfectly cooked and the mushroom sauce was a delicious addition. If it's not a windy day I would absolutely recommend sitting outside, the view is quite awesome.

Lovely celebratory dinner which started out on the terrace with drinks and a gorgeous view! The food didn’t fail either with the mussels being the star of the starters! Steffs Pasta, schnitzel and steak were also amazing. Worth a trek up the hill:)

Came here for my wife's birthday, ordered black mushrooms & Norwegian salmon starters + small beef fillet & chicken schnitzel for mains. Possibly the best dinner we ever had - WOW!!

Great food. Most of the time the portions are generous. The starters are terribly small though. I find they have a heavy hand with the chili. Been here twice and both times I burned my mouth not knowing there was chili as the menu didn’t disclose it. Beautiful venue. Edit: on my third visit I had a beautiful sweet potato soup and a hearty pasta. The service is always immaculate and the people here have each got a special character. I think the chef was walking around pretending not to be the chef but it was great fun.

Lovely dinner, today I came back again after 4 years, great quality of the food and service, the sunset was little on the right but view of the view is great.

Had a fantastic evening at Steffanies Place, food was awesome, service was just as good. The waiter was really friendly and offered a great service. Had the Calamari starter, chefs special steak a delicious rib eye cooked to perfection with a mushrooms and brandy sauce. Dessert I had the baked cheese cake with cream I can highly recommend 👌

Best location for views over False Bay. Lovely spot for sundowners. Food is on par for the price. Pasta portion though was somewhat skimpy. Very good special that included wine in a meal for two. I will certainly return.

It all started so well, the G&T and the incredible view..then..a rib eye steak which was so dreadful that even the chef came to the table to apologise for it. After 12 years of eating in SA, I have never eaten a worse meal, would never go again nor recommend anyone either. The young staff working there were totally not interested, only there for the tips which is a shame. Lovely setting, shame about the food and service ��

We had my sister's surprise 50th birthday lunch at Steffanie's Place on Saturday 16th June! To say the food was outstanding is an understatement! We had exceptional food and service! 25 people and not a bad meal or wrong order!! Everything was fantastic! Thanks to Dominique and her staff and the chefs for the most amazing day!

Some of the best views in the helderberg! Food is really amazing! And friendly staff! Book on the outside terrace if weather allows it.

We go here for all our special occasions and are never disappointed. Excellent service and the most delicious food prepared fresh. Hats off that the quality is always consistent over the years. Highly recommended.

Had dinner there last Thursday. Really good experience, food was great especially the schnitzel and the kingklip. Just a huge pity we were so stuffed we couldn't try any desserts.

One of our favourite restaurants! Excellent food, beautiful wines, fantastic staff... Compliments to Clive Opperman! Best waiter (and host!) by far! Curtious, professional, great sense of humour... was such a feast to dine with you tonight.

Great venue with lovely views from the patio. The food was fantastic although pricy and the service was terrible which would have ruined the experience if the food wasn’t so good!!

Great service and good well priced dinner. A really great venue. Waitresses appear to be a bit "stiff" when you arrive. They just need to smile a bit more when you arrive, but a great venue with incredible view and food. Well worth it and a memorable 20th Anniversary dinner.

They swopped our order around and then rudely fixed their mistake insinuating that we caused the the error, which we definitely did not. Then after dinner we were sitting on the terrace drinking coffee and I specifically asked the waiter when they close, I didn't want to keep them. They assured me we can still take our time. Next moment the manager comes out and rudely told us that we need to leave. <br/>Great food needs to go with great atmosphere. They soured their food by spoiling the atmosphere.

From the time we walked in we had friendly faces around us . Waiters are attentive , and friendly . The owner knows his customers by name . Food was fresh and they have a light lunch menu and a dinner menu available . They also have daily specials available . <br/><br/>

What a nice birthday experience. The food was exceptional. The staff friendly and very attentive. The dim lighting sets the room for romance and a good time. I'd definitely recommend for a nice dinner.

Amazing food and service. They staff and owners really went the extra mile to make my husbands birthday extra special. We shared the starter portion mussels to begin with. WOW, the saffron infused cream was delicious and the portion could easily have satisfied me as a main. Main course hub had the 300g Sirloin cooked to perfection with a creamy mushroom sauce. I had the salmon linguini with vodka cream sauce. YUM! 10 stars for that dish. The dessert was the perfect way to end off our special evening, a Belgium torte with raspberry sorbet- after the rich dinner it just rounded everything off perfectly.

An amazing dinner with family, a birthday celebration. Great food, great service and wonderful ambiance. I highly recommend this place to everybody.

Poor service, they were not willing to accommodate us in wanting to have lunch on the terrace as they hadn't setup outside. Seeing as they were not busy at 14:00 I don't see how making us a table outside is so difficult. Also restaurant indoors was untidy and half packed away, for what reason should we have to look at that. Wouldn't return soon.

Steffanie's has great food with a fantastic atmosphere and breath taking views of the bay. Good selection of wines to complement the dishes on the menu. The dessert selection is also fabulous.

Best experience ever! Loved the view, loved the atmosphere and loved the food. I took my husband there for his 30th Birthday. And we loved it. The food was so delicious and well presented and the waiters was so friendly and helpful. You will def see us again.

The most beautiful view!! Wow! The waitress handled our huge table very well. The food was fair and the portion sizes were good. The fish was so well cooked but the Cajun spice really affected the flavor and was far too overpowering. Overall the food was good.

Really good food!  Innovative dishes and a wide selection.  Everything is tastefully prepared and plated!  You can never go wrong choosing this place for dinner, and the views are spectacular!!
