Avontuur is a diners dream. The food is very well presented, appetizing and scrumptious. Excellent wines. The service is perfect with friendly and helpful staff. I've always felt very special dinning here. My favourites being freshly baked bread, Luna de Miel Chardonnay Reserve, the duck and deep fried ice cream. Truly a wow experience.
I can recommend Avontuur. The duck is probably the best in town, good service. Beautiful venue, stud farm, lovely view. Take note : no corkage allowed.
Wonderful food yet again! Second visit proved the first time was no fluke. Menu quite extensive and there was also added extra specials. Service is unobtrusive but perfection itself. Warm blankets for all the ladies was a lovely touch on a cooler day for the outside tables so we didn’t have to lose our magnificent view.
Love the wine pairing recommendation with every dish. Beautifully plated food, stunning view and great service.

We go back time and again for the scrumptious duck and deep fried ice-cream! Lovely setting on a working wine and stud farm, surrounded by the Helderberg mountains. Definitely one of my happy places!
Your restaurant is in a Devine place, I Love horses & to be able to see them as you drive in is so beautiful. I have been to your restaurant for my birthday & recently my mother & step father have come for their anniversary. The food is superb the duck is always Devine. I love your desserts ❤️

The vegetarian options were great. We always struggle to find good vegetarian options. The deep fried ice cream was unique and most enjoyable.

Wir waren dort zum Frühstück und nochmal zum Lunch. Beide male alles bestens ,sehr empfehlenswert.

Perfect breakfast spot with an incredible view and a full plate of food (AV breakfast). Watched the horses while we ate and enjoyed a beautiful walk afterwards.

Scrumptious, beautiful, tasty food. Priced well. Atmosphere just awesome. Worth driving 260km round trip to meet friends for lunch. The only fault that I picked up with the venue is the Acoustics in the conference hall. I have had a few meetings there over the last few years, hearing the speaker is a problem.
The 4 and 6 seater tables in the Dining room did not experience a problem with the Acoustics. Love going to Avontuur.
We had a lovely little birthday celebration at Avontuur, the food was delicious with a wild selection of options ranging from vegetarian to non. We loved the wine too.
Attention to detail and very particular to client service, a happy client is a priority. I had an almond milk cuppa with offish milk, they apologized profusely and sent the new one immediately. Delicious food and relaxing atmosphere.
What a delightful meal and experience. My soul was rested and pleased by time we left. The home made bread made a delicious welcome starter, dipped in most amazing olive oil, I was dissapointed that's not on sale there. The wine, salad and deep fried ice cream was lovely too.pleSe note breakfast end at 11h00 but lunch is only served from 12h00.
Delish food and price! There isn’t a bad view with the stunning landscape surrounding the estate.
The beet antipasta was good and my salad with papaya, pistachio and ham was filling and flavorful! Great fried ice cream too!
We had the most delicious meal here! The surrounding scenery, coupled with fresh, delicious and extremely beautifully presented food at such value made this meal the highlight of our trip. This estate is a hidden gem and is the real thing- authentic with a lovely family feeling.

Not my first rodeo here, food is consistently good but not great. Wine is divine, but service needs a bit of work. Had the West coast sole which I thoroughly enjoyed l, could be great given the ambience but lacking in the details...
The restaurant was in a lovely location. Service was great. We had 2 appetizers, the herring and mixed wild mushroom. Amazing. For mains, we had the duckling, lamb chop and pork chop. The lamb chop was not too fantastic, with a strong meat taste that was not for the uninitiated. The pork chop with vodka and pineapple was great. Duckling is their signature dish, and rightfully did its dues. I would strongly recommend you to visit. We had a bottle of their wine too. Total damage 1200rand before tips. Great value.
