It is beyond lovely to have tasty steaks, a selection of venison, and drinks while overlooking the Sabie River. We watched some pretty active hippos while we dined. The service was also excellent. This restaurant is a nice way to wind down after a day in the bush. The morning breakfast buffet is als
Driving the whole day enjoying the atmosphere and tranquility of the Kruger Park builds up quite the appetite. We dined at Cattle Baron Skukuza twice and found the food good and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Will I go there again? - for sure.
Great view of the water and wildlife. The food is okay. It's nicely located for a break from the safari. The free WiFi works great, too.
Enjoy your meal on an elevated deck overlooking the Sabie River in the shade of huge Fig trees. A typical Kruger Park rest camp experience.
Great food, well priced. Service was very slow. Stunning setting under the African sky.
OK, since is is the main option in the camp, (2 restaurants) it was nothing more than OK. took a long time to serve, steaks were good, the rest was nothing to write home about. better sit outside.
Breakfast on the lake was nice.
good location for a restaurant
food is super fast and good.
the jalapeños have been pretty spicy, as it should be!
Food very pricey but nice
Service was fast, the Classic is what I ordered. The pork sausage was some of the best I had, 0 gristle. Bacon and single hash brown were “as expected”, and the eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered.
The jam for the bread was really, really good. Not sure the flavor, but maybe apricot?
Stopped for breakfast during our game drive. A hearty breakfast. My scrambled eggs came on top of my toast and I would have preferred it separated as the toast got soggy. They had a breakfast buffet but that would have been too much.
The food and service was amazing with amazing iconic views of Kruger park. It gets quite hot in the sun so make sure you stay hydrated and sit under an umbrella, which there is plenty of. Lovely experience. Defnitely would come back for more.
This was our first stay in Skukuza after staying in Pretoriouskop previously. We had a selection of dinner and breakfast. All of it was delicious and very reasonably priced. To be fair all but one steak I’ve had in SA have been excellent, and that one that wasn’t was at Spur. The meals at the Cattle
If you’re staying at Skukuza, you must visit the Cattle Baron during either part of the day, especially daylight as you will get an amazing view from the terrace overviewing the plain underneath and might see some animals.
We went there for dinner and it was not less than perfect.
The dishes we orde
When you visit the Skukuza rest camp, you have to visit Cattle Baron restaurant, even if just for a drink. Although they have an inside dining area, the main highlight is the outside deck right next to the Sabie River. The views are amazing and taking it in while sipping on a ice cold G&T will leave
Sit down with a view on the Sabi river. Service is good. I had a very tender fillet steak.
We chose to order from the takeaway section on our last visit and the food was spot on. Delicious burgers and the kids chicken strips were amazing. Great view over the river with the elephants passing by.
We ate in the restaurant last year and were also very happy with the food quality.
