Review Willets Hotel - Simon's Town

Sourabh Mahindrakar
The property is truly remarkable, boasting high ceilings and charming, cozy decor. Its location on a bustling road gave us a strong sense of security. The staff went above and beyond to provide a warm, friendly, and exceptionally cooperative experience. Special mentions go to Emmy, Nolan, and the delightful smiling girl, who ensured our stay was truly unforgettable. Emmy even graciously assisted us with laundry, knowing we were traveling with an infant. The breakfast spread was indulgent, and we were particularly enamored by the artistic coffee crafted by Nolan. We couldn't help but wish we had extended our stay. Rest assured, we'll be returning to this gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone venturing to Simons Town.

This hotel is such a gem, its beautiful and a lovely location on the main street through Simonstown. The only downside is they don't have a generator connected to the bedrooms for load shedding, but this didn't affect us much at all! Emmy and her team are fantastically welcoming, we really enjoyed our short stay.

Had high tea here for my partners birthday. They had decorated the table with items of her favorite color. Delicious croissants, quiche and scones and a wide selection of tea or mimosas. Very good service, and a very friendly and efficient manageress (much best than the previous idiot). Would highly recommend for high tea, breakfast (great omlettes) or for a function.

Went to an awesome wedding today!! Congratulations to Emmy and her SUPERB team. What a special day it was. Great food, service on steroids and well priced drinks. Top effort all round!! Ps: the brekkie is killer too. Wonderful rooms, comfortable and quiet.

Good location of the hotel, but I was disappointed to see we got the room without any windows looking out, which is my fault. The room was cozy, though, with a good bed. The bathroom, on the other hand, was not properly cleaned before we came there, so I was a bit put off by that. No soundproofing in the hotel rooms makes it very unpersonal as you can hear everything the other people are doing in their rooms and vice versa. The breakfast was amazing, especially the french toast and the scones, so it's definitely a big plus there. We also had some live piano entertainment on ome of the nights which was very good.

A charming and elegant hotel. Amazing details and super friendly and special attention from the manager, Emy . The bartender waits always with a smile and lovely suggestions. I would love to stay there all my life.... and the breakfast is divine!

A large group of us went for Sunday lunch. We had a lovely fixed menu with three options. The owner manager Emmy was super efficient and flexible and had a great system for easy payment. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and we all had such a great time. Highly recommended!

Lovely old world hotel with friendly service. Highly recommended in the middle of the town , with shops and restaurants all within walking distance

Very conveniently located. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and dinner promptly served and very tasty. Just be careful of the wine list. No prices indicated. Ask before you order. That said, our four night stay was right up there with the best. Emmy the manager is an absolute gem.

I at first did not see the venue while driving down the main road. I eventually parked because the traffic was quite busy and I walked to see where the hotel was. On entering the hotel I was blown away by the decor and furniture, very classy. Big comfortable sofa and art pieces throughout the venue. The staff was friendly, we chatted about the place with the staff . I had coffee and some Carrot cake... Wow, Definitely coming back for more We sat outside catching the last Ray's of the sun. I was there for a cultural event of poetry and music. We were staying over in the hotel. As we ventured up the flight of stairs I noticed that they had a frail care lift on the side, what a plus for those who cannot do stairs. The entire hotel was magnificent from the time I set foot into the venue at the front door. The beautiful pieces of furniture , some antique that greets you in the passage an magnificent paintings on the walls. Then we stepped into the room. Wow a bed that is big enough for more than 2 people 🤣 the fridge in the room with complimentary coffee and tea, some cupboard space for clothing and your luggage, the bathroom with a comfortable size shower and soft curly white gowns and towels. We were going to have to drag ourself away from this beautiful room the next morning when we leave. Thank you Willets Hotel. What an amazing venue you have. Definitely we will be back again soon

What a Delightful spur of the moment experience. From the minute we walked through the doors we were welcomed warmly, during loadshedding I might add. Nolan and his team are remarkable. We sat outside in the Beautifully put together Court Yard, me being me of course, immediately appropriated the newly installed hammock chair swing and took in the serene surroundings happily swinging like a little girl, just being in the moment. Appreciating the ability to be able to find little treasures such as this in the midst of our busy-bee lives. As soon as power came back on we had a nice hot & strong cappuccino and a delicious breakfast. Also met the newest little member of the Willets Hotel Family, which is the most beautiful little rescue kitten aptly named Happy while having an intriguing conversation with the equally interesting Dr Gideon about energy Psychology and other Spiritual Healing modalities. What a lovely morning. Thank you Nolan and Willets Hotel for the little Oasis you have created. Will definitely be back soon to see (and hear) the second water feature installation.
