Review Olives & Plates - Sandton

Went on a Thursday Afternoon. Relatively quiet. Service is good, food is delicious and fresh. Nice surrounding atmosphere. My only critique: wait time for food was slightly long and outside area floors were dirty, with broken glass.

Had a lunch at Olives & Plates recently and what a joyous experience it was. I just love the interior, the outside dining area, the wonderful vista of Sandton inner city apoearing over the swimming pool and the overall ambience. The service was impeccable and the food just tasty and beautifully presented. I will most definitely be back.

I could literally live here!! It’s gorgeous, the garden is so serene. The food presentation and taste, staff , atmosphere, and views were just amazing! The pecan nut pie is music to the palate!! Definitely coming back.

Lovely restaurants in the area and easy access to major roads. We were there for a work gathering and I observed 2 to 3 group gatherings but did notice any slow service as the service was superb. Great venue for both indoor and outdoor seating and great ambience. The food was amazing and tasty the chef really pays great attention to his food presentation as the food is appetising before you even taste.

This location is wonderful with a unique advantage of indoor and outdoor seating options - pick outdoors! The food is great with a lot of attention paid to presentation.

Offers great dining experience. For an establishment in Sandton, the prices were very reasonable and on the affordable side. The main restaurant area is open plan, and therefore, the ambience is amazing. However, for a more private and intimate dining experience, it may be ideal to opt for the private rooms.

The food was good and their portions were big. I really enjoy the environment and the setup. it's beautiful 😍

Great food, lovely ambience

I loved everything about my experience here. - delicious, pretty food - I ordered the O&P burger, which was juicy, very flavourful (which most places don't achieve) and loaded with the perfect balance of cheese and caramelised onion. My friend enjoyed her chicken pie but it was a touch salty. - serene ambience - we sat outside by the pool which was green and lush, the pool was sparkling and the chairs were super comfortable so you can linger - attentive, accommodating service.

Beautiful aesthetic for the socials, neat and modern decor, beautiful cake display, professional staff, food presentation is a 100, food portions are excellent, affordable, the cakes don’t only look great but taste amazing and lastly, the service was excellent!

We had a corporate function at Olives and plates. I recommend a booking prior to arrival. There is a wide variety of items on the menu including drinks. The wait staff was friendly and accommodated all of our requests. There is outdoor seating with beach umbrellas which was nice. I ordered the Parmasan chicken. The meal was absolutely delicious. It was served with a side of choice and I selected the carrot and potatoe mash. The food was presented in a manner fit for fine dinning. The food did take a bit of time to arrive however it was worth the wait. On a side note, the parking is very limited and we had to park on side streets and the road which is not ideal. I would definitely return to try other options.

Sometimes when you want to have breakfast, the last thing you need is to go to a shopping centre or mall as its just too busy. Luckily Embassy Olives & Plates is available for you to venture into at the Embassy Towers just off Rivonia Road near Discovery's headoffice. It's situated on the ground floor, a reasonable sized space with inside and outside seating and the same elegance and service as other branches. Except their "Cake table" is nothing like Olives & Plates Hyde Park🫒 🍽 We had their Shakshuka (Eggs poached in a sauce of vine tomatoes, onion, garlic, red peppers, aubergine and middle eastern spices topped with avo and served with red pepper), my eggs were a bit overdone as i asked for medium so no runny eggyolk. But I was so full after finishing that meal. I was done for the day, no space for any cake. Canadian French toast (Brioche sandwich, pan fried with cheese & mustard served with maple bacon) looked amazing 😍 And the Bacon, Chipotle, Mayo and creamy Avocado Toast. This is Smashed creamy avocado with chipotle mayo, bacon, topped with roasted heirloom tomatoes and smoked chilli oil served with fresh arugula. Drinks, we just had Coffees, and I tried the Hot Chocolate as it was a bit nippy in the morning. Our waiter Themba was so sweet and patient with us as we were all catching up and chatting away before finally making a decision on breakfast items. A truly elegant place. The staff was really responsive to all of our requests and really professional and friendly. So much of the menu was inviting. The starter was the salad and the main, a chicken pie. My friends had the chicken breast meals. Try the fresh juice blends, they were delicious. The restaurant is in the foyer of the Embassy Towers so it has high ceilings with elegant decor. It is obviously a favourite with women and definitely ideal for brunches and catch up lunches.

Nice place for cosy dinner . The staff are well equipped to make you comfortable with their top notch soft skills. Cake recommendation ,try the carrot cake, it hits the spot. Unfortunately some dinners do not understand the concept of fine dinning and are pretty loud it destabilizes the experience. The moment one table overwhelms the entire restaurant by being a tad too loud and speak over each other it just becomes rambactious.
