Music is gud but DJ who played Saturday before closing time ddnt play our Nigerian music ,was disappointed but it was fun

Probably one of the best chilling bsports in the nation. The deco is perfect, the vibe is classic and exclusive. The waiters and waitresses are simply amazing. The ambiance and atmosphere just makes feel like everything is alright litteraly.

Service is normally good but I think due to the rugby it was a bit slow, vibe was amazing as always.

If you've never been there, then it's worth a visit... the lighting alone will make you feel cosfy enough to stay a bit longer.

Interior deco is well organized and not overcrowded. The service was mmmm…okay but I felt they were a bit under-stuffed on this occasion as our we would wait for quite some time for our waiter to pop up, you could tell the guy was overwhelmed. We have experienced those dreadful restrooms during our night outing but they surprisingly kept them pristine. Having tried the food in a number of bars and pubs, I must say that the food here was spectacular. We ordered a platter that was a jumble of beef ribs, pork ribs, chicken wings and lamb chops complimented by 3 savory sauces, and mind you, we almost ordered another platter but remembered we were there for drinks not stuff ourselves with their extravagant gourmet. Menu prices were a bit high but I'm sure they have specials every now and again. My only squirm was the "one charcoal" shisha, once it dries up, you basically have to buy a new shisha, no reloads here. That being said, the good music and great dj, makes this a great place to enjoy with a bunch of friends. I highly recommend. Will be heading back soon on a non-alcoholic excursion, need to enjoy that platter again.

A beautiful place to chill and have fun. There is mostly a lively crowd here. The place is super neat with a lovely team. There is also security and the food is also nice. You can also enjoy a range of cigars if you are a cigar person. The music is also perfect.

My friend and i had the time of our lives! � The staff was very helpful when we wanted a table.... although i offered to pay any amount. Bathroom staff were on point�. Iv never felt like royalty in a club..... Ever before. You best believe we will be back�. Props to u guys man�

I enjoyed myself place is beautiful music was on point,only challenge was getting drinks at the bar was a nightmare,surely you guys know you busy try to push your staff to speedup service a bit or have 2or 3 bar points,not gud to wait 30min on the que to buy drinks

Sh*tty place with the s#*ttiest staff, horrible service esp when there's a booking done. Intact yol should close down or hire new people. You deserve a -10

But their service is very bad we had to wait for almost an hour 30mins waiting for speed point, how can Cubana have only 2 speed points in such big hall? Never yooooooooo guys

The Espatada was bland n tasted off!! Had to settle for their t-bone. Like the ambiance. Not a place to go if your looking for good food

Great setting, nice music but the food sucks. Your Calamari was tasteless and lamb chops wasn't cooked properly a waste of money. Guess you need a new Chef. Wonderful waiter and DJ #1.

The place is very classic and nice, food is very nice, waitress need training but all in all very good place

I had a bad time this past weekend one of the guys thats works inside harassed me because I was standing at a prohibited area apparently and he threatened to call the bouncer to kick me out if I don't comply. The place is usually packed with no space to sit or stand. I was thinking of having my birthday party there but with that kind of harassment i am having second thoughts.

Bad service, went there for my birthday celebration and sat in the VIP lounge the waitres that was serving us demanded a tip when we told her to wait she got angry and told everyone not to serve us. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone

We booked a table for 20 people, firstly I was asked for a deposit of R350 per person, which I said I would not pay, on arrival staff had no clue about the booking, there were at least 20 staff standing around, and took 20 minutes for first drink to arrive, even though we booked an area, waiters kept putting patrons at this area, when I told them that we had more guests coming, I was given such attitude!! We decided to take our farewell somewhere else and promptly paid, oh and then we were overcharged by R 200, because when you get bad service, you normally leave a R200 tip on a R 600 bill!!! Thank goodness we checked! We had a great evening at another establishment who within seconds organised us a table, and provided us with amazing service. You will never see anyone of us again and lost out on a huge bill, as we were there till past 1 this morning !!!

First time to Cubana Fourways 6 Oct 2017: great sound, cool music and a really good vibe all around. Drinks were quick and fiercely delicious with such a wide speciality selection. Simple tasty munching food while chilling. Loved it.

Cubana is always a vibe. All the branches don't have enough vegetarian options. The cocktails are fab. The bottles are steep. The playlists are awkward: they only play the nice music towards the end of the evening. Wouldn't recommend for food,just for an (expensive) night out

I came here for a night of fun with my friend . I was really keen for a fun filled night with lots of dancing . Upon arrival ,it was literally a staring competition between us and the female waiters till one of them finally came up to serve us . Luckily we got a different waiter ,who was super nice and provided an excellent service . <br/><br/>The lighting in the place is pretty dim and for anyone who is as blind as a bat like me lol,so moving around is a struggle. <br/>The bathrooms are super clean but I found it a bit cringeworthy that there’s a lady who gives you paper towels at the door . I’m pretty sure a paper towel dispenser can do the job.<br/>People are allowed to smoke inside after 10 pm ,<br/>so if you’re not a smoker ,here’s a heads up . The music is out of this world ,tons of variety . It’s also at nightclub volume levels ,so if you’re here for a quiet evening this isn’t the right place . <br/><br/>To eat we shared the the chicken strips basket and ordered a bottle of wine for drinks . The strips were really good ,super crispy and actually quite a lot for one person . <br/><br/>This is a great spot ,especially if you’re looking for a vibe . Especially ideal for nightlife ,would definitely come again . <br/><br/>

I enjoy this place mainly for the music and their cocktails.<br/><br/>Their Sly Devil cocktail is a winner. They don't get a 5 star because sometimes it gets unnecessarily full and the waiters can sometimes be rude. But either than that it's a great place to get with friends and have a good time.

Although the cocktails are a bit steep (+/- R85 each)... I've always had a great time at Cubaña. More of a cocktails and snack platter restaurant, most definitely not a fine dining or family style restaurant. In general Cubaña does need a bit of TLC, furniture and bathrooms quite dilapidated.<br/>

Stopped for a late afternoon bit and was so disappointed with the service that decided against ordering food. The cocktails were very expensive at approx R86 and were nothing special. The music was good but the place did not do it for me. Happy to give it a skip next time.

We left a bit disappointed. Very little options for vegetarians. Cocktails were good but the virgin strawberry daiquiri was huge disappointment , even after we requested to replace it .

Cubana in Fourways is not a nice place. The story goes like this.<br/>Me and my cousin went to Cubana, the bouncer refused to allow us in because we<br/>were wearing shorts, but all of sudden he allowed 3 guys with shorts in, after<br/>confronting the bouncer, he apologised and said he is new and does not know the<br/>rules properly and then manager came and still refused to allow me to enter<br/>because I was wearing a cap. I again pointed to her 3 other people inside<br/>wearing caps, she then turned around and said it’s because they are women and<br/>women are allowed to wear caps. I felt like we were personally targeted. My<br/>cousin who stays close by then reported that this not the first time this had happened,<br/>Cubana in Fourways Johannesburg is notorious with specific crowd. An attitude<br/>like this should not be allowed and the place needs to be more caring to the<br/>customers and not make and break rules as they wish.

Food is good and portions are generous. Music is a bit too loud if you're looking for a quiet dinner for two. Service is great. I will go back but not too often as it's quite pricy.

I went there with my staff for lunch. It wasn't busy, but service was slow. The waiters didn't know their own menu and were too lazy to check with the kitchen about availability of items on the menu.. Their cocktails didn't look like the photos at all..<br/>

I have been frequenting this Cubana for about two weeks now to use their wifi for business purposes and I am very impressed with the consistent great service and cleanliness of the venue. I have been to Cubanas countrywide and this one is unique. I was not allowed to take pictures of the menu, but I can swear by the great cocktail and shooters menu. The baskets of food could be bigger for the price you pay, but the chicken wings flavor made up for this. Again, I must mention the friendly service and cleanliness of the venue. When in Fourways, Johannesburg I strongly advise a visit.

Sundowner at Cubana this afternoon !<br/>The decor looks good, the new cubana is big and spacious. The standard has drastically dropped food is horrible and not fresh. We had rib basket what a huge disappointment and I was looking forward to this meal as it was always my favorite.<br/>The waiters are young and not trained to serve all.<br/>Classic example our waiter brings red wine in an ice bucket what a shocker !!! Furthermore we order sparkling water , he doesn't bring glasses when we ask why he responded" I thought you were going to mix the water with wine #clap once, twice#"<br/>I will not be not in a hurry to come back! Life is too short for a crappy meal and terrible service ....

The new Cubana is great fun. You need to take this spot for what it is, a drinking hole with good music, hubbly and public type food. If your in the mood for a bit of a razzle without going to a club, try it out. The owners spent some good money renovating this joint. The service was fantastic, our waitress sethu was on point and made us feel super special.

I had a horrible time. First the customer service sucks right from the start. When I got there, they did not have enough tables so they sent me to bar where they are no chairs. By the way I was not the only one going though this. It was everybody!!! Seems like thats the order. CUBANA FOURWAYS AT CEDAR SQ IS OVER RATED!!! Wont be going there again

Appears geared more for drinking and networking than a salt of the earth family oriented restaurant. Food wasn't really nice. Both the chicken and the sirloin weren't done to satisfaction. The restaurant wasn't that full but our orders took forever to reach our table!

The worst experience I've ever had!!! Waited an hour for staff to realise there was a problem with our food order (after complaining), waited another hour for them to fix the problem. Was absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore food wasnt taken off our bill so we had to pay for food that took 2 hours. Turning away a que of customers as all tables were booked, yet these tables sat empty for 4 hours. This shows this whole restaurant is inefficient. Unfortuanate as staff are so nice and have much potential. Restaurants should train their staff properly before opening and throwing staff into the deep end without any support.

Nice new relocation of the Cubana restaurant with a bit of an Ed Hardy undertone in decor seen in the frosted glass. Furniture looks pretty much the same however the ambience has improved in terms of the Cuban cigar lounge aesthetics's.<br/><br/>Service was exceptional as our waitress took care of our needs which is particularly uncommon nowadays across South Africa. Their menu is typical tapas and steaks which you can't go wrong accompanied by a fresh cold one or a bottle of red. Opted for the lamb chops which was a generous portion to cater for a typical red meat indulgence. <br/><br/>On the whole it's a nice move upstairs for Cubana as it's more accessible and provides a nice choice amongst the other restaurants in front of Cedar.

Was lucky enough to be invited to the Dry Run Opening with Zomato and boy oh boy did we have a fab time!! I just love the new look of Cubana. The revamp has been amazing! Such a nice place to grab drinks with your friends over a hubbly! They even have a rotating lounge 😬 new cocktail menu is yummy and so are the shooters!

Went to the New Cubana last night. The place was pumping and the new Decor was interesting. <br/>However I don't know how they can justify charging R89 for a vodka and Redbull with a splash of cherry aka Usain Bolt cocktail.<br/>I didn't bother looking at the price as I know the average of basic cocktails. This however was double the price of what any other place would charge.<br/>Absolute rip off.<br/>I won't be going back.

Cubana is a cool franchise, Fourways is an "old faithful" for people looking for a good time. <br/>Always loved their baskets, which is the equivalent of platters, where one can mix and match. Wings, ribs, jalapeño poppers would be my go to order. <br/>Surprisingly they have really good nachos. Not particularly authentic (bacon topping option and pulled pork topping option), but delicious nonetheless. If one can look past the "rules" of food, the nachos are really unexpectedly good. <br/>Virgin cocktails are the same price as regular cocktails which makes no sense to me. <br/>Oh and they have this sauce, the hot sauce, and a white sweet sauce, which goes great with the fries. <br/>Cigar and hookahs are available if that's your vibe.

We were having a good time with drinks and finger foods. However paying R50 for a small red bull was absolutely ridiculous. Manager would not even sympathize but just told us to complain to the franchisor. It now makes sense why we were the only customers on a Saturday. The flavored hubbly tasted like burnt coal. Mojito glass was dirty and had to send it back.

After searching JHB for an hour on New Year's Day for place to hang out we decided settle here since majority of places were closed (this was round 6-7pm already).. Always a crowd pleasure... The variety of drinks are great however the service was as dead as some who was recovering from the NYE celebrations...

Really cool vibe, I didn't stick around for the food, Just enjoyed the cocktails and company. Their cigar selection is awesome if you are into that kinda thing. The restaurant is situated in a super convenient area given that the mall is a turn away. I would def go back!

Absolutely amazing from their delicious starters to mains to the cocktails. Very vibey atmosphere to chat,socialize and have a good time. Very friendly staff,service little delayed but its all worth it

Such an awesome vibe if you're into the Spanishy-fiesta scene - nachos are an absolute hit every time! A pity about the unfriendly waiters but wonderful management staff to compensate!

Disappointing is the first word that comes to mind. A few people told us this venue wasnt as great, but it was chosen based on the fact they served Shisha (hooka pipe) and our head of department insisted on a dinner venue that caters for his addiction(Being from Dubai).<br/><br/>On arrival our table was not ready, so we squashed up on the couches until everyone arrived. We ordered 2 baskets to nibble which were not too bad. One with jalapeño poppers and the other prawns and calamari both served with chips and some sauces. <br/><br/>Eventually we proceeded to our table for approx 13 hungry people, and then waited a while to get menus. With a choice of more cocktails than food there wasnt a wide variety and more mexican items. Most of us opted for the lamb chops or the mixed grill( sirloin chopd and ribs) One ordered vegetarian and another the pollo gambas (chicken and prawn). <br/><br/>It took about 1 and half hours to get our food, needless to say no one was happy. Especially when the entire time we were there the restaurant was empty. There were only 3 or so other tables with 2 patrons each. <br/><br/>Finally after complaining we got our food... which was cold and one messed up order which got returned. On arrival it was still raw so we sent it back a second time and then we were not sure if we should trust eating it (you know the horror stories). Food was tasteless and not worth the price.<br/><br/>Anyway onto dessert. The best part. Our options being sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownies. They said there is ice cream if needed. One asked if they have ice cream and hot chocolate sauce to which the response was yes we have chocolate sauce. Ok so lets order and can i get 2 balls of ice cream. When it came to the table my colleague received 2 BOWLS of ice cream with chocolate sprinkles on top. Definitely not what he ordered. The sticky toffee pudding and brownies looked like twins one slightly darker but with the same shape. Toffee one was bitter and the brownies didnt get any great reviews. <br/><br/>Suppose like most people have rated this place stick to the drinks dont think they can mess it up. We ordered a round of lobola and it went down pretty well. The food is another story they definitely need to up there game if they wish to stay with so many negative comments. <br/><br/>

So we went here for drinks. I wore a cap because its was casual night out. I was told that I couldnt sit inside for that reason. I had no problem with this but later two women and a guy were allowed to sit inside with their caps on. The food was average and cocktails the same. Wouldnt really visit here again.

This is defn more of a bar type atmosphere. While I am a smoker, I don't much like the smell of smoke and this place is very smoky. The food is ok. I wasn't terrible but not a place I would eat at again. It's a great place for drinks with friends.

Great place for cigars and whiskey. It offers variety of platters and meals. A bit steep on the pocket though but the up market feel makes up for it. ????

Nice atmosphere, good service and friendly staff. Drinks are very well priced which makes this place well worth the time if you want to meet after work. However the mains are not worth it. Ordered the steak with pepper sauce. Steak had allot of senu that made it very tuff piece of meat with large amounts of fat.

We had a team lunch at Cubana today. We were a largish group so I won't go into detail about what everyone ordered. Several of the group ordered the various baskets. I had the Godmother Nachos. It was very well presented and proper nachos were used as opposed to chips e.g. Doritos. It was quite tasty but I did not realise it had blue cheese on it and that is not a taste I enjoy. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful however we waited quite a while for our food. I have wanted to go to Cubana for quite some time now and I must admit to a bit of disappointment on my visit there. The chairs around our table were unstable and on the surface everything looks neat and clean but there is an underlying feel of untidiness and neglect. I am really not sure if I would go back.

When this spot opened a few years ago, and until relative recently, it was a great and vibey eatery. Food, service and general quality were quite pleasant. Then, either the fickle Sandton crowd moved on or maybe it changed hands. But right now, it has regressed into being a tired almost run down place. Cedar Square has abundant eateries, some good and others not. This one is of the latter part.

Good for drinks. Not really a cuban interior or flair. More a bar than a restaurant, pretty loud. Food was all right, but also not really cuban, more mexican.

I've been here for drinks a couple of times. The cocktails are always a hit even though they can be quite pricey - I suppose there aren't many places in Joburg where you can have a cheap and great tasting cocktail. The service is average - sometimes great, sometimes a little unattentive. We came here with a larger group the one time and the waiters were happy to help us move furniture around to accommodate everyone in one area. Overall it's quite a nice place - not my favourite as the Cedar square mall itself is quite dead most of the time but it's not far from home, but definitely not my first option for drinks.
