Review Caffe Fresco - Sandton

This little hideout in the corner will see me again. I love the option where you can take 2 different pizza halves and serve as one. This way you can taste two types at the same time.. clay oven, thin bases, Banting pizza, big pastas , you name it, and they have it. They make their own thin bases. I would have loved a glass of wine with my pizza, but they are not licenced.

My partner and I have been vegan for 5 years and have tried countless vegan pizzas in that time, none of them enticing enough to have us order it again. Col'Cachio just set the new standard. We had been putting off going to Col'Cachio because of the prices but after the pizzas we just had we will definitely be back for more. It is the best quality vegan pizza we've had,I don't know what cheese they use but it's brilliant. We're usually not a fan of vegan cheese and often get pizzas without any cheese because of our dislike. We were pleasantly surprised today. Also hats off to the regional operations manager, very nice guy with good values which we always appreciate. It's good to know there are good people behind the brand. We'll be back.

This is incredibly nice, polite and warm place which I ever seen in Johannesburg! Very diverse menu with the tastiest food and huge huge portions which I can eat several days! Thank you so much, guys, you make my life more delicious!!!

It's a nice place to have a pitstop after shopping, but the caprese was OK, not more. I didn't have pizza which is their speciality, so nothing to report on that topic.

We had great service & great meal.

We've been ordering from Col'Cacchio Benmore Gardens via MrD and we love the experience every time. The food is beautifully packed with care and attention to detail, the containers are sturdy and the branding is inviting. More importantly - The food is always tasty and fresh. We love their salads, especially the Cobb salad, and their beef carpaccio. But we've pretty much tried the whole menu by now and nothing ever disappoints! Thank you so much for delivering great food consistently. We can't wait to order from you again!

Best pizza we had in years. The milkshake was exceptional. And the disposable brown paper tablecloth gave the added sense of safety without feeling out of place. Pizza is expensive when compared to Debonairs or Roman's, but definitely my favourite.

I placed an order to go and it took some time (for a raw meal) but it was nice and fresh!

Great takeaway pizzas, fast and nice staff. Was ready under 15 mins. They can make nice vegetarian pizza. But the bacon feta banana is so amazing!

Good food, great service!

Food is below average and takes forever to arrive. Sometimes frequent the place just for the coffee.<br/>The last time i requested one of their special coffee blends. Overheard the manager telling the waiter that bag of coffee is unopened and she will not open it for just one customer. Then she proceeded to tell him to inform me that there is stock issues.<br/>The waiter eventually did tell me that the manager just did not want to open the coffee for me.<br/>Not even so much as an apology received.<br/>Needless to say i didn't wait around at the place.Won't be going back here.<br/>Poor customer service and food quality. Isn't surprising that we were the only customers there at that time.

When arriving had to ask for a menu ordered a trammezi tomato and cheese it took 20 minutes and when it arrived I was told that there was no crispes so they put chips with it the chips where as white and looked like they had not been cooked will never go back here again

Aweful experience. Food took forever to arrive and when it did it was wrong. The manager didn't really do much to compensate for it and we left extremely unhappy. Give it a wide berth.

Sorry can't comment on the food as after waiting 20 minutes to be served I left.  On sitting down the table was dirty and when I requested that it be cleaned it was done with a bad attitude.<br/><br/>Went to the opposition down stairs and had a great time.  Don't blame the economy of you go under, look at yourselves.

We have walked past this restaurant a number of times and eventually decided to try it. The manager was very very friendly and immediately found us a spot. It was situated right next to the smoking section which was behind glass window, so it should have been ok. What was not ok was the fact that the door to the smoking area was wide open and remained like that in spite of my request that it be closed as it should be, but without success. The table/area smelt of old smoke so we asked to be moved.<br/><br/>The rest if the experience was ok, not bad but ok. I will however not go bask with such a disregard for patrons/laws.<br/><br/>The smoking

When ever I'm in Benmore Shopping Centre, I make it a point to pop into Caffe Fresco for their Viennese cappuccino which I think is awesome. The décor is lovely I really like hanging out here just enjoy my coffee and the lovely ambience.

Nice atmosphere, coffee superb, I had the Banting Burger with beetroot roll. I would give higher but the waiter seemed uninformed and didn't give my roll and when I asked told me they were discontinued. When I complained I got it within 5min. I will definitely be back. The food was top quality.

Wanted to try a new place during the lunch time rush in Benmore Gardens Shopping Centre and decided to give Caffe Fresco a try. On the lack of receiving a warm welcome I decided to seat myself.Did not know that cappuccinos are available in small, medium or large but decided to go for the medium...<br/>Worst eggs benedict ever, please teach the Chef how to make a hollandaise sauce!

Stopped off after having to go to the bank at one of my ask time favourite hangouts! The staff are amazingly friendly, with exceptional service. Speak to Dylan if he's there, it's like having a friend join you, he's really great. <br/><br/>Ordered one of my standard breakfasts, the Morning Light with Chips (they have a good selection of extras), +/- R40 and a Cappuccino. It is really a great way too start the day, wish I could start them like this more often. <br/><br/>Bring the kids if you have any, for milkshakes and waffles, both are fantastic.

Their Sunday breakfast buffet is really good value for money! But if you don't feel like being a glutton, try the Fresco Style (bacon and cheddar) French toast. Mmm.. You'll thank me later ;) <br/>Burgers are pretty decent servings, patties are thick and juicy served with a side of chunky cut golden chips! <br/>The club sandwich is pretty darn good as well. The portion just seemed a bit small for my liking though. When you think club, you think big! So this was a bit of a downside, but tasty nonetheless. <br/><br/>Coffee- yummm (drinks always tend to take longer to get to your table than the actual food for some reason. Definitely something they need to work on)<br/>Friendly service from the staff. <br/>Free, fast wifi connection!

We were on our way to Simply Asia when Café Fresco caught our eye. Lovely decor, looked like a nice atmosphere for a lunch. Unfortunately the experience did not match the expectation. The service was okay, nothing spectacular. The menu has great variety and interesting drinks (like pancake coffee or something like that) . I had the chicken curry, which looked pretty on the plate but turned out to be mostly potato and veg in a curry sauce, with very little chicken. Next time I'll still appreciate the decor and the creative menu, but will probably walk past and dine elsewhere.

A clean looking and friendly place for a light meal.<br/>I had the tuna salad which I enjoyed, however some of the ingredients that were not stated on the menu were put into the salad and I'm allergic to some of them., so had to pick them out.<br/>My BF had the toasted chicken and mayo which he also enjoyed.<br/>It took quite a bit of time for our meal to arrive even though the place was very quiet.

REVIEW 1<br/>I prefer to go to this restaurant for drinks and maybe breakfast.  They have a limited variety of food on their menu, but they offer interesting combinations and fresh food.  Their drinks are also divine, especially the fruit juices.  This is a small restaurant that has limited seating capacity, and is mostly buzzing through the day.  It is just a pity that they close so early.  Still, a nice restaurant to visit.<br/><br/>REVIEW 2<br/>We went to this restaurant for breakfast. We were greeted by the manager immediately and our menus arrived. The waiter was friendly, order did not take too long. We ordered soft eggs and the eggs we got was very well done. Apart from that, the breakfast was good but pricey for what you get.

When first visiting this caffe about two years ago I didn't visit it again for any particular reason. This morning I felt there was a reason to visit and see what they have to offer for vegetarians on the menu. <br/><br/>I was glad to see that they are very open to allowing customers to have breakfast during lunch time. The waitress and manager (who is from Central London) were very good as well as the overall service. <br/><br/>They have a new concept of coffee being on tap similar to craft beer. This is a nice touch and something very different.<br/><br/>I will visit again in the near future for a breakfast or lunch.

Although the service was quite poor, and they were out of stock of all the specialty coffees, Cafe Fresco has the best pizza! The staff are friendly, and the manager is also very friendly and a good fit for the restaurant.

Poor service. Meal took forever to come out. When it did it was just average. Hardly any filling in the quesadilla although it tasted good. Tried to order hot beverages listed on the menu, non if the teas or speciality hot chocolate were available. We did not notice the poor furniture and cleanliness until we ordered. Won't go here again.

Rancid /Over priced Omlette , badly made cupaccino and shocking service in store as well as the way in which my complaint on social media was handled. Won't be back and sadly R100 breakfast down the drain .

I've been here a few times. The inside is quite interesting with various seating styles. It feels like you could be in three different restaurants, in a good way; has a rustic feel. I have always received good service. Visited yesterday with friends and tried the new Nutella waffles, absolutely loved it! I do want to go back to try the other waffles. Recommended.

Biggest plus is they open early - 06:00. Had to be in Sandton for an early meeting and took a chance and stopped in Benmore - and found this spot. Excellent coffee - super friendly and efficient staff (Keep it up Dylan!). Took something off the lunch menu for breakfast - no problem at all - even had the chef come round to check it was good, and it was! It gets a 4, and not a 3,5 from me because of the service - really nice to have a bright and cheery waiter so early in the morning. They will have me as a repeat customer.

Quickly stopped there for a quick coffee and breakfast before dropping my dad off at the Gautrain. Our waiter was one of the best I've had in a while. Yes, the place was not packed but he is just one of those people who has a passion for life / his work. He recommended a few things for us to eat. He immediately took our order without us telling him that we are in a hurry. Our breakfast was as good as breakfast can be, and by that I mean, egg, bacon and toast. Their Americano is good but I was more impressed by Dillan's service than anything else. I hope they keep him. If that is the way he is with customers, I will definitely go back.

Cafe Fresco has a very nice decor, but I wasn't a fan of the service and when I ordered a bar one milkshake I was given a sour fruit chocolate tasting shake. I was very disappointed.

It's a good breakfast venue but stick to ordering straight off the menu. I had a frustrating experience with the waitress who simply couldn't get a cappuccino order right - a cap with 2 shots of espresso was too complex to manage. I know that shit happens, but I shouldn't in a specialist coffee venue.

Service was so blasé starting with the manager who said he'd get someone to seat us... 5minutes later no one bothered... The waitress was clueless and kept forgetting things... Milk with my coffee... Then a glass of water which after asking for 4 times never came and I gave up. The food was shocking and even though I sent back my steak for being grilled for 30seconds (it was completely raw) it came back like a rubber chicken. Waffles are usually decent but I can't be bothered wasting my money on this place anymore when they only have one thing decent on the menu and the service is this horrendous I would suggest avoiding rather Fournos downstairs for a decent breakfast.

The service was extremely slow almost to the point of nonexistent. When I was finally able to get a waitresses attention I ordered a wrap. The food was definitely over priced. I wont be returning again any time soon.

There are a lot of bad reviews on cafe fresco but our experience was nothing like that. Admittedly the service was a touch slow but the place was packed so it's understandable. I had the mancakes which are really interesting and super tasty. I would suggest they not candy the bacon and cut back on the amount of banana, but that may just be me. Rounded the breakfast of with a cup of kopi luwak. Something that should be on everyone's bucket list albeit over rated. I will definitely go back.

The food was abominable. Worst pasta (penne bolognese) and chicken prego we EVER had. Will not be back...... On the plus, the coffee and service were okay but we came here to eat and they failed horribly!<br/>

Great little find in the Benmore Gardens shopping centre. Lovely atmosphere and vibe in the coffee shop and it was busy which tells you that it is well-frequented. The coffee was fantastic and reasonably priced. The big bonus for me was finding another spot that provides free wifi. It still blows my mind that the little independents coffee shops can provide this service but many other, larger cafes do not (I'm looking at you Tashas, Mugg & Bean, Vovo Telo, etc).<br/><br/>My only complaint, although it is a biggie is that the waiting staff are awful! Unattentive : I looked my waitress dead in the eyes while she was standing at the coffee station and she studiously ignored me, it took nearly 10 minutes for two of them to find out the wifi password. Reading the other reviews, it seems like this is the norm...<br/><br/>I am happy to frequent an average establishment with brilliant service, but will not go back to a cafe with fantastic food, drink and ambience but awful service... <br/><br/>Take note...

Service is very slow and waiters a little pre-occupied with doing nothing at a Cafe. The drinks took forever to come to the table not that they were busy, there was one other table in the place. <br/><br/>Food also took a long time to come which is hard to wait for with a hungry 3yr old. I do like their burgers and tea tramazinis. Food as always is fresh and very tasty.

I've walked past Caffe Fresco many times and I loved the cute little kiddies area. I suppose it's to give mum and dad a chance to have a relaxing meal. When I visited Caffe Fresco, I was quite surprised by the space inside the restaurant and the simple decor. We found a quiet corner for breakfast. You can salivate over the impressive menu options. I tried the eggs benedict but I didn't like their hollandaise sauce which was cold and made my breakfast cold. Apart from that, the service was great and location is good for those in Sandton that don't want to go into Sandton City.

I realized I have never reviewed this place, when I actually spend quite a lot of time here.<br/><br/>You can not appreciate the ambiance by the pictures, but it is quite a cozy cafe. It is my escape from the mall. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are average.<br/><br/>I usually bring my computer and grab a coffee. The WiFi connection is awesome as is the coffee ❤ I am very demanding with my coffee. I love Lavazza brand for coffee ;)<br/><br/>They have a very long menu, different salads, sandwiches, eggs....fresh juices, smoothies. The quality of the food is pretty good, the portions are decent. Slowly but surely I am trying everything ;) The best for me are the salads ❤<br/><br/>If you are ever around swing by and grab a bite and a coffee :)
