This is a very nice restaurant. Our food was good although one of our guests said the chicken schnitzel was very salty. My stuffed chicken breast with stir-fried veg was delicious. Our waiter was efficient but a bit impatient with us even though the restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived. The decor is lovely and I will certainly visit again

The Mediterranean pasta was a little bland. Adding parmesan cheese gave it a necessary kick. The Chicken Salad was nice, but I wish it had a little more salad dressing. Without it, it is quite dry. Our waitress was polite and efficient. We received our food at a good time. We didn't wait too long.

Very cool set up and not what you would expect from the shopping complex it is in. Can make you feel like you are in another country. Had a very friendly waitress who always checked up on us. The food was amazing and I will definitely return when I can.

After hearing how amazing their Calamari and bacon pizza is, I had to try it. Was it not love at first bite!!! From there we tried their breakfast. Best omelette I've ever had. Perfect balance of all ingredients and no oil bath on the plate. BUT TONIGHT, I had their Carb Free burger. I'm not a burger person but WOW, has that's changed. All ingredients are fresh and tasty. The flame grilled patty is amazing! I never thought in all my years I would rave and write about a burger, but here I am. The service is always amazing there. The staff are lovely people as well as the manager. The food is beyond delicious and this is a hidden gem. I really recommend Beach Blanket 1 million times over. Just when I thought it can't better, I try a new menu item and fall in love. Thank you to this amazing restaurant for hitting the nail on the head each time. See you soon!

A spoil well deserved .. Glad to see the center has picked up and had a revamp was rundown but nice and vibey atmosphere... Had a great breakfast. First time here and really enjoyed it. Some really great options and choices of food. Bit different from the average options and loved the banana bread French toast and green omelette. Had a green spinner smoothie and mocha which were both really good as well.

Very nice restaurant comfortable with great ambiance any time of the day. The food is nice and the service is friendly although slow. It has a little kiddies area so if you're with kids you'll still be able to enjoy a meal.

Friendly servers. Blondie burger was delicious and the live music made the vibe great. Pizza bases were very crumbly unfortunately.

Went for coffee and cake. Excellent coffee and a proper decent generous slice of cake. Excellent attentive service by the staff too. Didn't have any food from the extensive menu but looking at nearby tables it looked plentiful and good. Definitely worth a visit. Recommended!

My 1st time there and I must say the food was very nice . Just up the fridge on the drinks my beer was not cold. Hope to enjoy some of your food again in the near future.

BBB is our (hubby and I) hangout place coz of its proximity to our house. Don't want to drink and drive. BBB's food and selection of whiskies is great. Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels were on fire. That just put a cherry on top.

Spent my birthday there.... The staff are well trained, the food is amazing and fresh. The live band performance is just fantastic. Also love the diversity and unity the restaurant represent.

We always like BBB and enjoyed the food. But we were really let down by management on Entertainer specials today. We were told during our previous visits that food like pasta and others are included in the special, but all of a sudden it is not this time. Manager blamed waitress that suppose to inform us, and being bit ride actually. Not cool...

Went to Beach Blanket Bohemia in Sunninghill last night. I got there just after 6pm and the band was already playing! Awesome band, awesome vibe, staff very friendly and attentive and food was good too. Spacious and comfortable seating too. Drinks a bit pricy but the atmosphere well worth it!

The food at Beach Blanket Bohemia was very excellent but the service from our waiter was bad. He literally forgot about us the other waiters had to give us attention. Some work has to be done there.

We always come to beach blanket and it is usually great! However today it seemed like there was only 1 waiter on duty and I felt sorry for him as he was trying. The food took so long and other people even complained about that. The flapjacks were raw when we got the food.<br/><br/>And then the baby high chair! If you have a kid don’t go to B.B. the chair is so high and top heavy, the tray keeps flipping even when you click it in and my child’s foot got stuck in the side of the chair that he now has bruise from it!! Not great guys not great

Enjoyed the Banana French toast served with a scoop of ice-cream and berries. Was a bit disappointed in the carrot and pineapple juice though. Service staff was good however a bit slow for my friend.

The food was good value for money, the service left much to be desired...the waiters often disturbed us by asking to use the condiments for other tables...the meal also took a while to arrive !

Such a lovely, relaxed place that we come quite often too. Service is relaxed but attentive. Food is delicious, our favourites are the beetroot carparcio and the Kingklip with lemon butter sauce. My glass of wine was delivered late which was comped, which was unexpected and appreciated. If you are in a relaxed mood with unobtrusive service, highly recommended and the food is delicious.

A nice open airy restaurant with a nice vibe. Sometimes there is live music too which is a nice touch. Have been for breakfast and lunch several times and have never had a bad meal. They have a nice variety on their menu so there is always something new to try.

Very nice spot. Relaxing and inviting. Staff friendly and helpful. Had the best pizza with thin crispy (not burned) crust. Wood burning pizza oven taste....awesome. Will be back.

Great consistent food quality and service. Only place I know that has Irish red ale on tap! would definitely recommend for both lunch and dinner occasions. Plenty of secure parking and easy access to Sunninghill Shopping Centre.

Good spot to relax at. Food is good and the drinks menu is sufficient. Depending on when you go the vibe is good. Service was decent. They serve tea very prettily - sadly didn't take a pic.

Vegetarian pasta was extremely boring with only peppers and brinjal... That is not a mixed vegetarian pasta. Service was absolutely shocking! I definitely will not go back.

Man I loved this place but it was much better with Alec and Rui at the helm. Recently it's lost a bit of magic and that might be the lack of manager customer relations which was half the fun. Before, I willingly spent bazillions on patron, but now not so much.

Has always been a winner! Vibrant atmosphere, beautiful decor, bold flavours and wonderful staff. Perfect for a Sunday. I recommend this to everyone.

We found ourselves here, needing to kill some time until the doctor's surgery nearby opened. Staff were friendly and happy to accommodate us in their warmer seating area while they finished setting up. The coffee was good and my light breakfast came with plenty of bacon. I'm really not sure why we don't pop in more often as we visit the centre frequently.

Pizza & Milkshake. <br/>Their milkshake is pretty good! So plain and delicious! The cheesecake. I like that there is a chunk of cheesecake in it as well, a winning surprise.<br/><br/>Pizza! Not bad, not great. I honestly don't remember what we ordered, Thank goodness for photos. <br/><br/>Their service is definitely average, been twice. Two different staff members, girls are usually better though 👌

A great venue in a buzzing shopping centre. A bar area that's been separated from the food area could be a good or bad thing, depending on the person. Although the vibe, staff and service is good; it just can't make up for the exorbitant prices. At R250 for a snack platter that barely feeds two it should have been amazing - it wasn't. A tastier, cheaper meal can be had elsewhere in the centre. Not the fan I was when I visited this restaurant when it first opened.

Decided to stop  by here a few times with the most recent being last week where I actually ate some tapas and not just having a drink. Good wine selection, and cocktails (though a Long Island is R110 if I am not mistaken?!) The tapas were good - definitely go for the mussels!! delicious!!! the rest were not bad. Service was great though. A band came on to sing which was cool, but its difficult to have a conversation because of how loud it is. In all, I will be back for my usual drink with friends, but not when a band is playing.

Update:<br/>My friend and I decided to meet after work and since I enjoyed the lamb burger the last time I decided to go with it since I already knew what I was having. <br/><br/>The place underwent a revamp a few months ago and is looking good but that's about it. <br/><br/>I stuck to the lamb burger yet again and it was the biggest mistake ever. The meat had no flavour and the taste wasn't great itself. The patty was smaller than the burger. <br/><br/>The service lacked quite a bit considering it was very quiet. <br/><br/>I will not be back here to have anything else but I guess if you chilling and drinking with your buds, this place might be worth it. <br/><br/>-------------------------------------------------------<br/><br/>My cousin recommended this place to us so we decided to try it together. The recommended the lamb burger which we decided to try. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was considering I'm more of a beef burger person. The lamb patty was nice and most and the burger was flavourful. I would go here again to have the burger however the pizza's also look just as good.

Burgers to die for. Friendly staff but not the fastest service. Try the Lamb or Italian burger they were both really yummy. One of my dining partners ordered and highly enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and brinjal stack, off the tapas menu, which she said were delicious. One of my other guests selected the turkey and brie salad was fresh and tasty. We will be back.

Had the most amazing stuffed chicken breast with a wonderful white wine rosemary sauce. <br/>This place has the coolest atmosphere with a live DJ and music to compliment the memorable menu.

Went for year end drinks, this place is extremely popular. The whose who around, DJ and music. If you are single it is a good place to be. I was not impressed with the drinks or the food. My friends enjoyed the salmon immensely. But as I did not have that, I cannot comment. It was okay. Good party place.

Such a shame that the food was spoilt by the shoddy service. Had dinner there on a Thursday night and although they were really busy, a lack of interest from the waitering staff is unacceptable. No interest was shown in taking our orders, or bringing sufficient cutlery etc. <br/><br/>Nonetheless, we opted for a few items off their tapas menu. The chicken livers, champinones and the solomillo were really good but I'd definitely skip the buffalo wings and especially the Chourico.

Man and myself went last night we enjoyed our food and drinks the only thing we didn't really like is waiting years before getting those drinks and food. It's a nice place, very relaxed and just what we needed for our date night.

Our default spot for a drink or coffee especially on the weekend while we get our cars washed. It has a chilled atmosphere and the food is always freshly prepared. Waiting staff are friendly but could be more attentive. The pizzas are delicious and probably my new favourite on the menu is the "Balsamico". The coffee and smoothies are also very good.

I always find myself popping in here, and have never had a bad experience. Their breakfasts are very tasty and their coffee is great. In the evenings there is usually quite a buzz and they often have live music. It would be a great place for an upbeat dinner and glass of wine on a Friday night.

Nice place to grab a bite to eat on a Sunday afternoon. Very chilled and vibey. Decor is original & different. Service is good & food was also good.

Nice place to chill out at on Fridays. I particularly enjoy the live band... They take you back old school. The food isn't that great but edible.

Had a great afternoon here yesterday with my hubby. Very vibey, noisy spot with great live music. The food, especially the pizzas, is really good and I would suggest getting a few to share on the table. There is an inside restaurant if you feel like having dinner without the noise of the outside. The inside area still has an open feel to it as the glass doors open up and so it's a nice area. The cocktails are pretty good without being high end and there are some very different choices to experiment with. All in all a good night out and I recommend this place.

Beach blanket is a cool place to hang out, especially on a Friday afternoon after work to have a few drinks and listen to the live music. The food is quite average though...

BBB do food well. However this restaurant is a 'casual' restaurant in the Sunninghill Village shopping centre where it's a good place to get a quick bite to eat. Although I don't go often, there's always vibe at BBB on a Friday night.

Excellent staff, great menu. The food is as good as the description in the menu. Try the lamb burger!! Trendy outdoor and indoor seating, great for a meet up.

Perfect for brunch, lunch and dinner. Wide variety of food from the simple sandwich to devine and delicious ox-tail - weekends sees the restaurant transform to a hangout at their cocktail bar - so if you want a relaxed and chilled dining experience go early before the crowds arrive. If the restaurant is busy expect some delays in food and service but otherwise it's a fab, local hip restaurant in Sunninghill!

hello <br/>I was keen on visiting this restaurant for the promise of its fireplace and good food. I was disappointed to hear that the fireplace was not "working". I went on a saturday night. The music was really too loud to have any type of conversation. I like the soft lighting of the restuarant and if there was a fireplace it would have been a romantic place to spend a winter evening. <br/>The waiters were pre-occupied around the till point with no one to welcome or direct patrons. I had the prawn and chorizo rissotto which I thought was good but could be made alot softer and creamier. My guest had the sirloin streak with veg and jelapeno sauce. portion size is good. Food and pricing reasonable. Not a place to take someone you want to impress !

BBB is a little bit of a surreal experience<br/>from outside, its loud, smokey, very much a very crowded pub vibe, i had been here before for afterwork drinks and it just seems so much more uncomfortable now...<br/>but step through the back door and its comfortable, quiet, elegant dining with friendly service.<br/>i was incredibly hungry, having not eaten all day so when my dinner partner ordered the half chicken which came with a "our half chicken does take awhile to prepare" ... i should have listened...<br/>especially as there is no bread or the like to nibble on, we needed to order a side of garlic foccacia for that (lots of garlic btw)..<br/><br/>ok rambling... I had the Mozambican prawn curry, which was a m a z i n g, just shy of a few prawns but hey... i was super hungry.<br/><br/>i once trained as a cocktail bartender so am very particular when it comes to cocktails, I decided to chance it and order a Long Island (which by the way, BBB do variants with red bull or cranberry or classic coke)<br/>I of course chose the classic and it did not disappoint, made in a nice large highball with the spirits separately made in a shaker and layered rather than just built in the glass... was nice to see.. and taste :)<br/><br/>Ill definitely go back for dinner.

I've been a BBB convert for years . Few resto-lounges offer a variety of live music and dj"s 5+ times a week.<br/>The owner and his managers always set a great vibe and are a very genuine bunch. <br/>There is a great following of mature regulars and a must try for anyone living or working in sunninghill.<br/>The owner refurbishes the establishment regularly and thus the premises always look top class.<br/>Food prices are very reasonable for the excellent quality Mediterranean food you receive. Try the whole chicken with chillie sauce and wasabi mayo or the superb thin base pizzas. <br/>Whats also really great is that Internet is available .<br/>value for money 10 outa 10 . <br/>Try the Friday night vibe with live music . You'll love it !!!!!!

I had a breakfast meeting at BBB this week. Service was quick and efficient; as it should be at breakfast time. I ordered the eggs benedict and while the dish taken as a whole, as tasty, the Hollandaise sauce was terrible. It was a lumpy mass of bright orange sauce which I mostly scrapped off. Disappointing, as I have had dinner there before and it was much better.

Been going there for years, since it has been open.<br/>Food has remained consistent but there is no awe factor. It is okay nonetheless.<br/>Their risotto is excellent!<br/>We go there for the vibe, especially when they have live bands and the service is good!

The food on the menu here sounds amazing, just the thought of deep fried Camembert with a berry reduction can melt even the heart of the coldest critic, and when the food eventually (it takes a while especially because they're busy quite often) arrives, it's not bad but it doesn't quite match up to the mouth watering induced by the menu descriptions. It may be a proportion thing, where there isn't enough of the interesting ingredients in the actual dish. The saving grace here is the barman who makes amazing drinks, try the redbull Long Island :) so this place is a great place for after work drinks, add a little focaccia and you'll be fine.

I stopped here for a quick lunch after making an appointment at my hairdresser a few stores away. I asked the waitress if they had any prawn pasta on the menu, and she mentioned the risotto. She asked if I know what risotto is and wanted to explain (compared to pasta), so I said I know what risotto is. <br/><br/>Anyway, after bringing me my meal, I discovered chorizo was inside - wasn't visibile from the outside as it was decorated with prawns. So I called her and explained that I can't eat chorizo and if she could bring me another dish instead - like the salmon pasta. She said she will have to check with her manager. <br/><br/>Long story short, she came back saying I had to pay for the meal and I cannot get another dish in return. I was shocked by the response - in all the years I've been eating out, I've NEVER EVER heard such a response for any mistake. I couldn't believe what had happened. I just paid for the "meal" and left immediately without causing a scene. The manager didn't bother coming out from the back, and the waitress couldn't care less. <br/><br/>Do not bother coming here, because EVERYWHERE else 'the customer is always right' applies, except of course Beach Blanket Bohemia. Absolutely shocking.<br/><br/>PS The only reason I rated this place a 1 is because -1 wasn't an option.

I don't know how sneaky these guys were with coming up with the name for this place. Sunninghill is notorious for the high number of ex-Durbanites that live here. One of the best hangout spots in Durban was known as Bean Bag Bohemia. Both sound similar yet were rather different. BBB (the Jozi incarnation) is now the best place to hang out and be seen in Sunninghill.<br/><br/>Get there after work and its always busy. And it's busy for good reason. The food and drinks are quite awesome and well priced. The vibe is great and its an awesome place to do after work drinks before you hit the town later on in the night. It's also great as a weekend hangout when you need a place to chill as you attempt to cure the hangover.<br/><br/>The food is consistently good. It's not the finest cuisine Jozi has to offer but is presented well, are offered in good sized portions and are tasty. I usually order one of the burgers. The lamb is really good but there have been times when it wasn't made just right. It's popularity means it is quite busy especially on weekends and after work.
