I recently came for dinner for my birthday, and they helped me with a same day booking for 15 people without any issues. The food was delicious and even though the vegetarian options are limited, they made a plan to cater for both vegetarian and vegan guests! The paloma's are delicious, the tequila is cold and the setting is beautiful. Can't wait for more cocktails!

I HIGHLY recommend Razor Charlie! I mentioned that our reservation was for a birthday, and the wonderful people there organised champagne on ice on the house for us to enjoy our celebration as a surprise! The setting is really beautiful, I couldn’t stop looking at the individual details that make you feel like you have been transported to a South American fantasy experience, the food was delicious (craving some more of those nachos!) and the service impeccable! Thank you for making it a night to remember! �

Delicious nachos but to much cheese,enough to clog the arteries.Chilli fries were different with the skins still on.What I really liked was the tacos stuffed with generous ingredients of your choice.
Furniture needs to be updated,I know you want the old feel look,but there is time when even those need upgrading.

The standard in jozi is great and getting better. Its getting harder amd harder to fault most places. So a 4 rating is actually the minimum... maybe i need to reviewy my rankings. 4 is the new 3.
This place is vibey without pretensions. Its really comfortable and welcoming. Staff are well trained.
We had nachos to start,they were pretty good. Then i had a sandwich tge menu says salads and sandwiches but they are specifically split. Some are sandwiches, some are salads.
I forget what mine was called. It had halloumi in it. It was massive. It came with good chips. It was a good good sandwich.
The tacos are also bril.
Try this place for a casual Saturday afternoon lunch and cocktails. You will be impressed. You also won't feel cheated by the prices.

A bunch of us had lunch at Razor Charlie on a warm Saturday Afternoon. It’s a great “meetup” kinda place and has all the Latin elements which compliment the area quite well. The food was really good; in particular the Nachos were a winner at the table. The Nachos are well priced and you can get them in Beef, Chicken or just plain with a hearty side of guacamole and salsa. The Cheeseburger was also a winner; massive portions and nice flavors.
Just one bit of criticism if you can call it that; the choices of Salsa/Sauces were a bit lean for a Mexican/Latino restaurant. It could turn some people away if they feel that the flavor is lacking.
This place always has such an awesome vibe with it's antique, almost kitch furniture and good music playing. Food was awesome! The sandwich and chips I had was super tasty and would recommend for anyone in the area.
What a vibey spot, quite intimate inside but nicely laid out and a comfortable flow of comings and goings. Service was good. The food was great but not as spicy as we anticipated. The decor was a highlight. It’s a pity that we didn’t have space for dessert.

Razor Charlie! Gran vibra! or in English great vibe!
Razor Charlie is a Latin Eatery that opened right under Katy's Palace Bar in Kramerville just a few months ago.
Straight to the point, the food here is amazing! Like always, if a place has nachos on their menu, you order it. Their Nacho Bowl was pure cheesy goodness with enough toppings to make it a great sharing starter. It was so hard just to pick two mains but we bit the bullet after numerous reads of the menu and ordered the Tacos De Pescado and the Chimichurri Stripped Rump. The beer battered fish tacos were okay, nothing to write home about but the 300g rump steak covered in chimichurri won hands down, feet down, beer down, you name it. We had to stop ourselves from licking the plate clean. After a delicious Strawberry Mojito or 3, it was time for dessert. Banana Bread with Rum Custard. This was really the cherry on top and would make us go back there any day. To be honest, we went back 2 days later and ate it again.
Razor Charlie has a really great vibe and is just the perfect place to hang out with friends and family. The music makes you want to salsa on the tables as it gives this proper Mexican street festival atmosphere. The restaurant has an open ceiling with lights hanging all around and various plants as well. Just so different compared to everything else in the area.
Our waiter was super duper friendly and he has such a passion for the place and their food, which was great the only downside was that he was a hard one to find at times when we wanted to order more drinks or food.
Great value for money. Their most expensive dish on the menu that we could find was R115 for the Chimichurri Stripped Rump and it was definitely worth every cent. The rest of the mains vary between R70 and R90 and all their cocktails are R65 each. You cannot go wrong here.
TTT recommends you go there with friends on a lovely sunny day.

I arrived at Razor Charlie this past weekend not really knowing what to expect from this new Latin Eatery below Katy's Palace in Kramerville.
Beautiful signature interiors and murals, with a lovely open area roof that allows both sunshine and lush greenery to peep through above our heads and what is a truly unique spot surrounded by antiques and Kramerville. I sat here thinking that I could actually be anywhere in the world as Razor Charlie truly has an international, quirky appeal and as such I hope that all the photos attached to this review will do the venue itself justice.
The next thing that I noticed! Razor Charlie makes a great coffee!
As we sat down to our coffee, our waiter Martin introduced himself properly with a smile and explained a bit about the concept of Razor Charlie and then we settled into our corner nook to have a good look at this menu.
Onto the food that we chose to share on our first visit:
Nacho Bowl with Guacamole, sour cream and salsa. These nachos lacked taste to me, and I would not order them again but I do think that authentic nachos are hard to get right in terms of the balance of pickly, salty, cheesy, and crispness.
Breakfast Burrito with egg, bacon and avocado. I didn't realize from the menu that these would come with baked beans in them but the burrito was both filling and a decent sized portion.
Quesadilla De Pollo Y Queso: chicken, cheddar, mozzarella and salsa.* What a DELICIOUS dish!! This was by far my favorite dish of the day and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Cheesy chicken that just pulls apart and a delicious fresh salsa make this an unbeatable snack that I would return for!
*Recommendation: This is the perfect venue for lazy summer mornings or afternoon catch-up's tucked away in a comfy booth with friends.

So glad to have stumbled upon this hidden gem! Popped in for a quick bite to eat for lunch and I was quite impressed with their menu selection - especially the vegetarian options. The food was really tasty, affordable and filling! Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Seating was a little uncomfortable - steel chairs and tables in the heart of winter isn't very comfortable, but will definitely visit again :)

Tucked away in Kramerville is this little hidden gem. The restaurant is small but cosy, and the decor is fun and quirky. An excellent spot to socialise and have drinks with friends.
The food is Latin American inspired. My boyfriend had the Chicken Burger, which was divine. The flavour was excellent, the chicken cooked perfectly and the buns were soft and fluffy.
I had the Chimichurri Steak. The chimichurri sauce was amazing… super herby and fresh. But the steak was just average, slightly chewy and bland. A special mention must go to their excellent chips though, a definite winner.
For dessert we tried their cheesecake which was delicious. We also had the chocolate cake which was disappointing… too dry and bland.
Beautiful open plan restaurant with outside seating, place to sit in the open courtyard and covered seating available. The decor is absolutely stunning and definitely enhances the chilled, rustic Cuban vibe. The food is simple, but well prepared. I would personally recommending the elotes(spicy corn on the cob) as a starter with the Chimichuri rump and Mexican corn salad as a main (this can easily be shared between two people). The Gin and sin cocktail is a most (fragrant basil and lime drink). Welcoming staff, with fair pricing.
Awesome atmosphere and surroundings. Food was all round amazing. Cocktails were also amazing and unique. Everything you’d expect from a Latin restaurant and more. Even the cheesecake was surprisingly the best I’ve had. Definitely worth the visit.
Such a hidden gem. I did feel like I was "away" .. felt like sitting in Havana with the Latin music and artwork. I thoroughly enjoyed their speciality breakfast.
What a wonderful little gem set in a Latin experience! Had a unique lunch enjoying some cuasadillas and tacos! The Margarita was on point and will be back to sample the Nachos!
