Delicious and healthy food (great for anyone with gluten and/or lactose intolerance) , peaceful atmosphere. Friendly and top quality service. I am always treated like an old friend. My absolute favourite place for breakfast... and lunch.. and supper if I can squeeze it in!

Disappointed after hearing some good things about this place. The R60 Zing Gourmet Green Salad turned out not to be as described on the menu, lacking a handful of the key ingredients. Nothing gourmet about it, very basic. Second try: same tasteless mediocrity - definitely not worth it for the price!

Amazing variety of vegan friendly food, excellent service and beautiful, quiet and serene venue tucked away in the midst of Sandton yet surrounded by trees and nature. Food was perfectly presented and so tasty :) substituted feta for avocado and enjoyed a healthy, tasty vegan open sandwich on rye bread. Also, the vegan macaroons and coconut clusters are a must try!

Good food, I had the Napolitana pasta, fresh ingredients, pasta cooked perfectly. It was delicious. The cafe has decent vegetarian options that can be veganised. The veggie burger looked delicious as well. The raw chocolate macaroons were very rich but good.

Went to lunch and was told that the ingredients were minimal due to the fact that the restaurant would be closing for festive season. So no calamari, no salmon, etc.
Despite the limited menu, the food was decent. Chicken salad has a great dressing - perhaps order in the side as there is an abundance. Prawn pasta was good, while the steak was overdone - would have been better had it come medium as requested. Overall not bad, but could be better

I was invited here to participate in the #followsa Tweet-up where we were treated to a selection of Café Zing's cuisine. The food is tasty and imaginative, and I adore the ambience - it's very light and airy. The wines are a bit on the pricey side but I suppose that this is because of where the restaurant is. It was a bit difficult to get the waiters' attention but this could have been because of a number of factors, such as people being off sick, etc.

Fun and inviting staff, refreshing watermelon cocktails and tasty food. We went for a function and the canapés were delicious, attention to plating and each bite packed with flavour. Great please for sun downers.

I eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. Always a great service from the friendly staff. Food is good & juices excellent. Great for breakfast on the balcony.
No Time To Waste
Being here offered a glimpse of the insular life inside the Regent. The lady behind the counter tried her best to serve the customers. Our waiter's English was poor and service slow.

Love bean there coffee, but our coffee was very weak and a bit of disappointment. The green detox juice was pretty good. My smoked salmon was good. My friends pancake came out before his massive fruit and yogurt.

Not bad of a place, and I am glad I tried it... but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

A cute little cafe inside The Regent. As a health nut, I expected a bit more variety and expected the ingredients to be more true to a clean diet. The food is really nice and there are healthy options, but there is still a lot of butter and sugar in what looks like healthy snacks and treats. The atmosphere is tranquil, with a lovely open warm feel to it. Recommend for a nice brunch.

We absolutely love Cafe Zing! The service is always lovely, the waiters are friendly They have healthy smoothies, bean there coffee and they always provide delicious food. It is also quiet if you would like a place to get some work done!

Have eaten at Cafe Zing many times and is one of my favourite quiet places to have lunch on the weekend when in JHB. They're food is always delicious and fresh and very good value for money. Love their Signature scrambled eggs and veggie burgers!

I was taken here by my colleagues for my birthday lunch. Someone had done some research & Cafe Zing had come up as one of the top 10 vegetarian restaurants in Johannesburg. Being vegetarian she thought this a great choice for me.
It was a Monday & it was lunch but, we were the only table in the restaurant - so the atmosphere was slightly lacking.
Their menu is extensive & has many delightful meat-free options. I had been told that they are well known for their veg burger, so I decided to have that. It was extremely tasty - however, for me, a burger needs to be firm and this (as with most veg burgers) the texture was "mushy". Accompanying the burger were some (4) sweet potato fries, which were perfectly cooked.
Everyone at the table opted for a vegetarian meal (there are meat options available), & all thoroughly enjoyed what they got.
I took a look at the breakfast menu & I will definitely be planning a weekend breakfast there soon.
Perhaps on the weekend the restaurant has more of an atmosphere when it is busier. When I do, I may be back here to increase my rating.
