Nice varied breakfast. Good quality, nicely laid out, lovely atmosphere. Beautiful views overlooking Sandton & convenient location close to Gautrain station. Hot and cold buffet, cereals, pastries, yogurt. Orange press and honey in the honey comb was a nice touch. I was impressed as they have a vegetarian station with soya sausages, burgers etc. Fantastic coffee, hot chocolate, selection of teas included in the breakfast price

Great place to just stop for a minute in the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg life.
Perfectly set close to the Gautrain.
Lives up to the international Radisson standards.

This place is quite underrated. I had by 21st Birthday Dinner there and the service was absolutely awesome. Food was well cooked, the ambiance was nice and chilled which allowed us to be free, and my cake was well made too. Needless to say we all enjoyed ourselves...

Excellent food and very warm service. Had their steaks (ribeye first night and t-bone second) and both were excellent. I prefer the ribeye because I like the fattiness but both were melt in your mouth good.

We had a set menu - starters was a salmon rosti which was very tasty. This was followed by a mushroom and truffle risotto which was tasty but very rich and the truffle became a bit much after a while. This was followed by a brownie for desert which was too hard to eat with a spoon or a fork. Didn't enjoy that. Good experience though. And a beautiful, vibey location.

Bidding farewell to a colleague called for an occasion. With 20 people having to make a mutual decision, we settled on Central One at the last minute.
We were welcomed with a Rose Sorbet in a shot glass. Nummy.
I had Beef Carparcio for my starter. Delicious and pleasing to the eye, the slices were cut to precision and presentation was gorgeous. I had some of the Wild Mushroom Soup and although I'm not a fan of soups, this was quite tasty.
For my main, I ordered the Prime Rump. Very juicy.
To end off the evening, I opted for the Spiced Pear Cake. Did not thoroughly enjoy it, the cake was a bit too hard for my liking.

Overall, ambience was lovely. Service could've been better considering the busyness of the restaurant that evening.

Lovely lovely restaurant, set in the heart of Sandton, with a view you barely ever get to see in the business of the day.

The waitrons are very attentive and friendly and the food is to die for. There is a very large variety to pick from as well and that made the visit even better.

We were here for my partner's birthday and even got complimentary cake to celebrate his birthday. Thank you for the lovely gesture and service.

Best pasta I've had in ages alongside a lovely parfait made Central One a great lunch venue. It's a bit pricy but pretty worth it IMO. Also, gorgeous views of Sandton is a bonus.

Great evening spent here with clients on Saturday night. We opted for the outdoor pool deck and a heater was brought over to stave off the winter chill. Good wine selection and cocktails were enjoyable. Service slow but food was delicious. We ordered platters to share - calamari and fries was huge and tasty, and the mezze platter was sumptuous and beautifully presented. Ideal venue for after work drinks or a private cocktail party in the heart of Sandton.

Bom serviço, cardápio muito bom e diversificado. A comida é muito boa. Resolvemos jantar no hotel, Eu estava com desejo de comer um hambúrguer e não tinha no cardápio. Prontamente o garçom trouxe o cardápio do home Service que tinha sanduíches. O hambúrguer com queijo cheddar estava uma delicia.

The food and the service are both equally impressive, same can be said about the wine selection.
It is very relaxing having your dinner in the serene atmosphere overlooking the Sandton skyline.
The baby chicken is a must have!

I got to experience this restaurant for the first time when I reserved a table for a divisional team lunch. The food, service and ambiance of this restaurant is amazing. I had the seared tuna starter which i thoroughly enjoyed. For mains, I had the Seabass - I didn't quite enjoy this dish. The dish was way too salty and the flavours weren't balanced. However the best part of my lunch was the dessert - chocolate and cherry fondant. Immediately when I received the dessert that's when remembered the importance of this app. I had to take a pic and share it. Definitely loved it!! Above all, all the staff members were AMAZING. They were efficient and willing to help. I must say, this restaurant is worth visiting again.

Wow. Went for Restaurant week and I was not at all disappointed. 

A friend and I went for Lunch and it was the best. We were given complimentary champagne on arrival. The service was probably the best I have ever had. The setting was beautiful, perfect for Sunday Lunch. 

The food that we ordered was;
Starters: Masala Spiced Tomato Soup and Beef Carpaccio
Mains: Filleted Baby Chicken and Dullstroom Trout
Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding and Rooibos and Berries

The food was outstanding. The flavour and texture was just on point. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be back perhaps for a dinner sometime. I could go into detail but would rather have you go enjoy the fine dining yourself!

Hosted my first Zomato Meet Up at the ever so glamorous and trendy Central One restaurant at the Raddison Blue Hotel.

We were welcomed with champagne, warm smiles and a spectacular sunset over Sandton. This made the perfect backdrop for family pictures before we were seated for dinner.

The three course dinner was met by hungry happy faces. I had the Ostrich fillet and Beef Carpaccio starter. My mother had the fish option and she loved it.

The restaurant made my brother and mother feel special as we celebrated their birthdays.

The sweet treats ended the evening on a high note.

The food and service was great. My only comment would be to clear the table after guests have finished eating.

Joining Mika Stefano for his first Zomato Meetup was such a treat at this venue.
Upon arrival we were welcomed with Champagne and took advantage of the Sandton sunset skyline taking several pictures of the family.

As for Central One Restaurant.. it was purely incredible! Ambient and very comfortable atmosphere!

Lucky (Manager of the night) and Linda (Waitress) made sure our evening was top notch.

With regards to the food.. Wow!! Not a single complaint amongst all 8 guests!! From starters, to mains and dessert! Everyone was well impressed!

I had the Beef Carpaccio starter, Ostrich Fillet for mains, and Chocolate Fondant for dessert. All were amazing!

Overall we had an awesome evening and would recommend this restaurant for those who enjoy fine dining and it also seems like a great place for a first date.

I am between giving this place a 3.5 and 4 rating. There was not much wrong, the food was good and the service was good and friendly. If I rate this place under fine dining then I would give it a 3.5 though... It missed a bit of a wow factor and the food could have been a bit better compared to other restaurants. All in all though a pleasant experience.

Central One restaurant at Radisson Blu Gautrain pleasantly surprised me last night in so many wonderful ways! 

Ambiance: Simplistic elegance in a relaxed and yet refined and quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle of the day. Crisp white table clothes, beautiful down lighting and a venue with some of the best skyline views across Sandton CBD from their floor to ceiling windows. Thankfully Central One does not look at all like it is trying too hard.

Service: From entrance, I was welcomed by Sibusiso and Zenzele who were my guides through the menu and evening. Without feeling rushed or unattended to, they made a wonderful team serving me throughout the evening..

The food: 
To start - Masala Spiced Tomato Soup: Plum tomatoes cooked with masala spice, served with a light yoghurt mousse, coriander salsa and poppadoms! Exquisite! 
For Main - Their award winning Baby Chicken (which won the best main course of restaurant week 2013): Deboned whole baby chicken sous-vide for five hours before its grilled and served with butternut puree, braised lentils, fresh tomato, Shimenji mushrooms and baby vegetables - exquisite! 
YET for me the clear winner of the evening was a wild card.. Their Homemade Gnocchi: Authentic potato Gnocchi drizzled with parsley and truffle oil, perfected with sautéed wild mushrooms, almond curd and shaved Parmesan. It was superb and the combination of flavours has, for me, made this my favourite dish so far of Restaurant Week 2015. 
Onto dessert - The rooibos & berries creme brûlée, vanilla shortbread, homemade strawberry ice cream, and burnt Italian meringues was by far the best dessert on offer in my opinion. 
I found the 'sticky' toffee pudding a tad dry. 

*Recommendation: With a comprehensive and varied menu, spectacular views and a relaxed ambiance, this is the perfect go-to when in Sandton for a delightful meal!

Update: 21/11/2015: Sadly, had a very disappointing breakfast at this spot! 
After making a booking two days previously, we arrived to find no booking had been made according to staff. Thereafter the service and food just got worse and worse. 
The breakfast cold meats were completely frozen to the serving plate, the potatoes on the breakfast menu were under-cooked and stodgy, the scrambled eggs were runny.. my cappuccino took me making a complaint after twenty-five minutes and eating to finally arrive. 
This restaurant has sadly gone down from a 4.5 and I would highly recommend avoiding their breakfasts.

Got treated to a 3 course meal for restaurant week. The decor is great and so was the service. Im not one to often try hotel restaurants but I'm glad I did this time. This place is perfect for first dates or family lunches

Every single dish was so beautifully plated. The flavours and textures of each meal worked so well together to create an incredibly delicious dish. My #zomatobestdish would be the braised pork belly. DIVINE.

Romeo, Romeo. What an amazing resturant manager! Firstly I made a reservation for 2 during #ResturantWeekSouthAfrica for 6pm and I had to change it to 7pm and I was met with the warmest assistance. I arrived late at 7:20 and whilst waiting for my companion to join me, I received a complimentary glass of red wine (2013) and was told more about the resturant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is simply sublime and the decor is to die for. The dinner menu was well composed, I started with the beef carpaccio, followed by an incredibly succulent pork belly. I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I had the best time, and this is my favourite resturant now.

The award-winning Central One Restaurant, is the hotel’s in-house restaurant and was recently refurbished. It seemed to be quite popular with hotel guests as well as dinner guests who came just to enjoy the mouth-watering cuisine. We had a hard time deciding what to eat with so many tempting options available. In the end we dined on succulent sea bass, salmon, seared tuna and calamari while we enjoyed the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Came here for a Ladies day for breakfast.

We had the buffet Breakfast and everything was beautifully displayed and very clean and fresh. 

the service was great and there was everything you could choose from, from cereals to  omlets, it was amazing.

I mostly enjoyed the croissants with the fresh smoked salmon, it was delicious.

Perfect destination for tourists and the Hotel is also beautiful!

I had had a streak of bad, or good, luck; never having a date on Valentine’s day, take your pick. This streak was ended last year and so I thought to myself that I had better do this properly; roses, hearts, poetry and of course, a romantic dinner. To be honest, the Central One wasn’t my first choice as I was primarily relying on online research to make my pick and its presence wasn’t very prominent. Luckily though, I found myself there the week before on a lovely Johannesburg evening and the place looked fantastic. A great view coupled with a lovely ambience inside. So I made my reservation and the next week had my first Valentine’s day date, and it was the best I could’ve hoped for. When we arrived, the staff were all friendly and our waiter eager to help. It cost approximately R800 for the two of us and we were treated to a 5 course set menu including a dessert buffet and complimentary champagne on arrival, which is quite well priced for a fine dining experience. The food itself wasn’t the greatest I’ve ever eaten but good nevertheless, the standout dishes being the sea bass and the mushroom gnocchi. Overall, our evening at the Central One was memorable and certainly the best Valentine’s day I ever had.

Sentiment aside, I did return later last year and was delighted again. The mango mojitos are a must.

This is a lovely restaurant in the raddison hotel. The decor is refined. It is a very spacious restaurant that may detract a little from a cosy atmosphere. The service was however attentive and the food good. Its definitely worth a visit.

This is a very aesthetically stunning spot, and even more alluring during the evening. Then it comes time to order from the measly-sized menu. I chose their tomato-based penne pasta - hardly a rousing dish - which was cold and stodgy, proving to be a disappointing culinary experience! So I sank my teeth into their winelist.

I have been to Central One twice now and both times I have received 5 star service accompanied by an excellent meal! Each time I have been there is a set menu option that offers a complete fine dining meal made from whatever is in season! The desserts are to die for so make sure you leave space for some pudding.

Was staying at the hotel for my anniversary and my partner and I decided to just eat at the restaurant. Little did we know what a wonder it would be. Our meals were made delicately and presentation was just superb. I recommend it any day.

The first time I was at Central One was with the Zomato meet up and I had a wonderful experience. The service from the stag I felt was outstanding as they were always there without needing to be called and never allowed my glass to empty. The food itself was so unique- each bite had its own original flavour and the chef was very helpful in catering for my allergies. The atmosphere was great- the decor itself made some tables feel secluded from others, ideal for romantic dinners. If you're going out at night definitely come for a nice romantic dinner or adult family celebration (not quite for kiddies I'm afraid). Look forward to experiencing Central One again with my loved ones.

I wasn't even aware that this beautiful restaurant even existed...so I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and was welcomes by the friendly and helpful staff. The decor is chic and modern - the original lighting and hanging chains really add the ambiance. Central One prepared the most incredible menu for us. I was blown away by the complexity of flavours and the beauty of the presentation. I think it is by far one of the best meals I have had in Joburg. 
The starter consisted of Confit of Seabass, Parmesan custard, rouili and truffle dust. The combination of seabass, Parmesan and truffle was like the most amazing explosion of flavour in my mouth. I am a huge lover of truffle...so I was totally sold and not disappointed with the results.
The next dish to wow us was the mains - Duck breast, foie grass, polenta cake, pickled radish, date puree, asparagus spears, orange reduction and melange of carrots. The duck was soft, sweet and delicious. However the highlight of the dish for me was the date puree...I am not normally a fan of dates but the puree paired with the duck perfectly!  
To end a fantastic evening, we were given the most beautiful dessert plate - Fantasty of Flowers. It consisted of a zesty cake, lavender parfait, rosewater sorbet, blueberry pavlova and an assortment of jellies. For me the rosewater sorbet stole the show...the flavour was incredible. For me the lavender parfait was a little lost on the plate as the subtle flavour couldn't compete with the rosewater. However on it's own it was delicious!
If you want to experience some gorgeous decor and delicious food, then I highly recommend a visit to Central One as you will not be disappointed.

How often do you drive past a restaurant but never go inside? Central One at Gautrain Radisson Blu is a prime example of a nondescript outside, but absolutely stunning interior. An eclectic dècor with chains and oversized lampshades gives the restaurant a cosmopolitan feel.
Our Zomato group were seated under some gorgeous lampshades and treated to a variety of meals by our adventurous, but soft-spoken chef.
Starter consisted of a perfectly cooked sea bass with a Parmesan custard.
Our Duo of Duck was superb. A crisp skin, tender meat served alongside tasty date purée and crunchy asparagus.
Dessert was gorgeously presented on a slate platter and was a selection of fruit and herb infused delights- lavender, lemon, blueberry and the star of the show- a rose water sorbet. Unfortunately the sorbet melted very quickly, something I hope was a once off as this dessert will definitely be photographed by many patrons before being gleefully devoured 1 spoonful at a time.
All our courses were beautifully paired with a wine and I enjoyed every glassful.
I highly recommend a visit to Central One and hope this is the level of service all customers will enjoy.

Wow! What a spectacular evening hosted by ‪Zomato and Central One‬! Central One, a not so hidden, hidden gem in the centre of Sandton. With a spectacular view of Sandton, great service and an amazing array of flavours and wine pairing, we were  given us a night to remember! Sous Chef Grant took the reins and offered us a treat! Starting with Sea Bass (the clear show topper), seared duck for mains and a variety of flower inspired deserts (the rosewater sorbet being the winner of the ensemble), all of this coupled with a carefully selected wine pairing. I was amazed. Hoping that this is not just the quality given for an organised event, I will definitely be back.

We tried this restaurant last night, and i have to say, delish! We had a couple of dishes that the Sous Chef was trying out, couple of different flavours here and there, but they all worked and it was amazing. Sea Bass starter, Brazed Duck for mains, and a Zesty Cake with Rose Water Sorbet (YUM) to finish it off! 

Staff were friendly, service was so fast, restaurant itself was bustling, but still quiet (although it was a Wednesday night) but probably because the tables aren't all on top of each other, like you so often find it Jozi Restaurants.

Overall stellar evening, and would definitely recommend!

So here I am at the #zomatoxcentralone along with Leah Berelowitz Chantelle Le Roux and I am going to give a disclaimer. Because this was a set event Central One definitely brought their A-Game, and it was AMAZING, so given this it is going to get a hell of a good review. The food was brilliant, the service top notch and the atmosphere is wonderful. Only thing I would have done differently was have the rosewater sorbet arrive at our table more frozen (it melted too quickly, so I couldn't enjoy the decoration for more than 30 seconds) but otherwise an amazing experience! Thank you CaraLee George Miltiadou Yajna Maharaj for an amazing evening!!!

We decided to try out Central One during restaurant week. First impressions were fair. The restaurant is huge but nicely done with screens here and there which keep some intimacy. On arrival the restaurant was completely empty and we were shown the a table with a nice view out of Sandton.

For starters we both had Tomato soup which was fairly average. It just somehow fell a little flat. The highlight of my meal was the main - karan beef rump which was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and delicious, served with a mushroom sauce and fries. My husband had a mushroom and truffle pasta which was tasty but a bit too rich for a main course. The meal ended with a somewhat over the top dessert. White chocolate mousse with fruit, meringues and sorbet in a bed of biscuit crumbs. The mousse was served in American sizes - a massive slab of mousse about 3 times larger than one would expect making it impossible to finish alone. I'm not much of a meringue fan but the mousse and sorbet were both fantastic. The sorbet nicely countered the sweetness of the mousse. Overall the food was enjoyed however the service was another matter.

We were initially shown to our seats very nicely but one we had placed our initial order, we were almost completely ignored. We struggled to get the waitress's attention to top up our drinks and our took her about a good half an hour to bring the drinks after we had placed the order (a coke and an appeltiser). It wasn't particular busy that day and there were a fair number of staff available so I'd definitely describe the service as poor.

My other issue was the price of the beverages which were ridiculous (R32 per can of coke and R36 per Grapetiser). These aren't exactly high end drinks so the markup seems somewhat excessive.

The biggest positive was the steak which was fantastic and would encourage me to go back but if that was to be excluded, quite an average experience overall.

Went to Central one for my 20th anniversary dinner. Went up the lift and puzzled by the special on offer R250 for a 3 course midweek meal, wow I thought! Unfortunately waiter said no specials this week instead our meal cost us over R800 without starters but incl drinks! Please take down the special offer out of the lifts!

The setting is gorgeous looking over the gautrain station and Sandton city. The meal was simply out of this world. The fillet grilled to absolute perfection complimented by the oxtail ravioli, mouthwatering. My wife had the pasta which was delicious ( only complaint terribly small portion). The desserts astonishingly delicious without doubt the finest I have EVER had the pleasure of consuming. The creme brûlée oh my word it was superb, the textures, flavours and presentation made for gastronomical delight. The sorbets, with chocolate pudding were an amazing delight. All in all a most wonderful experience. Personally went to the chefs of both courses and complimented for a wonderful evening.

We have been exploring new restaurants as part of the restaurant week this year. Central bar one was one of the best finds ever! Our experience at Central one bar and restaurant was exceptional. I will definitely recommend it to colleagues in Sandton as a nice spot to go close to work. The ambience is up market and nice. The food was absolutely fantastic. Every plate was presented so nicely and every element on the plate added texture and flavor to the plate. In all the food was absolutely scrumptious. Service also very good.

I attended a Zomato foodie meet-up at Central One recently. We were hosted at the Chef's Table for the evening, to experience some fine-dining. I've been to this venue before for events, but never a sit down meal. I was quite surprised by how lovely the evening turned out to be. Very nice atmosphere, that yet fancy, is relaxed.

It was a 5 course meal, and one palette cleanser, all beautifully presented of course. I was quite impressed with the salmon starter, which was cured salmon with horseradish mousse, almond ciabatta crumble & 40 second beetroot sponge. We also had risotto, asparagus and truffle oil, which was a veg option. Another favourite was rolled tender baby chicken, served on a bed of lentils, and some veggies. For dessert, we had creme brûlée with a salted caramel macaron, chocolate ice cream, and espresso foam. I found the dessert a little too sweet (but that's just me).

All the dishes we were served are found on the menu, and they're bigger portions. The chicken is halaal - big plus!

The restaurant itself is quite fancy, and you should dress up if you're going.

Central One... More like Central just 'so damn good'... I hadn't been to Central One in ages & why would I? I'm not a hotel guest, yes the location is well, central (spot on with the name selection) but eating in a hotel... mmmm, not really my vibe. That was until I attended a recent media event at the Radisson Blue. Forget a vibe, there was a buzz at the bar, dotted with both Sandton corporates & a more relaxed, creative type. Because why should a champagne cocktail be restricted to a select few?

We were lucky enough to be seated at the Chef's Table - very swish, service was impeccable, which made for easy table banter. The view of the open kitchen allowed for a personal experience & the chefs had no problem with an annoying media person snapping Instavids & Vines while they plated... & the plating... well that was rather fabulous - think black slate style - fine dining for all!

The braised beef risotto. I've never been a fan of the dish, possibly due to numerous horrors with the stodgy stuff BUT Central One you changed all of this, oh yes you did. I ate the whole thing, not a grain of rice was left on that plate - still firm to the bite with masses of intense beefy savoury'ness.

Central One makes so much sense for a mid-week sit down or a Friday night dinner, especially for those in the area. Am I really in a hotel is what I had to ask myself halfway through the meal - yes I am & after that meal, it really is OK.

I enjoyed a scrumptious meal at Central One last week as part of a Zomato Foodie meet up. It was the 1st time I'd been back at the restaurant in around 3 years and overall I was pleasantly surprised.

We sat down to a 5 course tasting menu extracted from their standard al acarte menu. Unexpected twists included cured salmon with "40 second beetroot sponge" (egg white, sugar, beetroot powder, loaded in a nitrogen siphon gun and microwaved for 40 seconds) - such an interesting texture on your tongue it's hard to describe.

The rolled, filleted baby chicken was one of my highlights. It's cooked for 3.5 hours & was super succulent. The shimenji mushrooms on the side worked very well. I was very surprised to learn that all the chicken is halaal (& imported from Argentina - I would not have guessed.)

The cauliflower, truffle oil & asparagus risotto was perfectly cooked & creamy but a tad under-flavoured for me. This dish is usually served topped with salmon which I think would round it off perfectly.

I'm a HUGE fan of crème brullee and it's always my choice of dessert if its on the menu. I usually like mine quite traditional. However their take on it with vanilla mascarpone, salted caramel, chocolate ice cream & espresso foam is just out of this world. Not overly sweet & beautifully presented, you'll want to lick the plate.

You tend to forget you're in a hotel once you get into your meal at Central One. It's laid back and I didn't find it at all pretentious. Lookout for the newly launched Chef's Special - a 2 course meal for R190 or a 3 course meal for R250. And if you flash your Gautrain card you'll get 10% off.

I went for a midweek dinner at the Central One Restaurant which is located in the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel, it is a amazing setting in a bustling hotel, all in all a great atmosphere and a enjoyable dining experience.

The menu is very rustic and well thought out, they have a full al la carte menu which offers 5 - 8 different items per course as well as a weekly chefs special which is only R190 for a 2 course meal and R250 for a 3 course dinner, the al la carte menu changes every 10 weeks and the chefs special every Tuesday.

I selected the al la carte menu for this and had the following courses, all 3 absolutely beautifully presented and packed full of flavour.

Starters:

Smoked duck breast, duck liver, pickled cherries, confit duck fritter and rye crisp.

Main:

Fillet of beef, oxtail ravioli, white onion puree, truffle croquette with baby glazed vegetables.

Dessert: (By far the the outshining dish of the meal)

Chocolate fondant, parsnip ice cream and orange peel puree!

I have added photos of each dish and trust me, they are as tasty as they look!

The added bonus of being only 55 steps from the Sandton Gautrain Station means one could travel from Pretoria for a meal.

This is a must visit restaurant!

The restaurant is good, if you dont want to live the hotel you ll have a nice dinner. Especially recommend meat And they serve superb breakfast!

Looking for an after work hangout spot on a Friday night? Then check out Central One! 😊 With no entrance fee, you get to enjoy a mix of old and new music alike from the resident DJs. The view from the top is something not to tire of because Sandton looks amazing at night. 🌃 Next time I am definitely going to give their food menu a go! 💪

Lovely refuge from the hustle and bustle of Sandton. The bar is part of the hotel and has an expansive sun deck several floors up. I enjoyed a burger and a beer with a colleague for lunch which were well made and tasty.

My Daughter and I frequently stop at Cenral One for our mommy and daughter breakfast. They always take such good care of us and the food is YUMMY😋 as my daughter would say. Thank you for the great service and food -Central One Team😊
