Review Jasmine Fusion - Sandton

Tebbs
We decided to try something different and Jasmine seemed a different option. The location is rather odd as it's mostly medical practitioners there. We arrived to a rather lukewarm reception. We opted for the street food side and were not disappointed. The food was good, especially the beef fillet and chips (great chips). The crispy fried chicken with dipping sauce was very tasty. The butternut soup was divine, had a lovely creamy consistency and beautifully spicy. The chicken curry was different but in a good way. The naan bread was not what I'm used to, more like a flat bread. Desserts were okay - the strawberry pancake was yum, but I'd reduce the cream, it was a tad too much. The one thing lacking was the drinks menu - they have a great variety of the virgin cocktails but only had mango and strawberry daiquiri available- found that very strange and disappointing. The atmosphere was a bit lacking. The service was okay. I'd visit again on a Friday evening to see if our experience is any different.

So this experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The coffee was weak and lacked taste but the little cookie that it was served with was out of this world, yummy crunches and nutty mmm lovely. The noodle dish we ordered was served cold and was over spiced and had an overpowering taste of mustard. The chicken on a skewer with naan was well flavorful but was served cold. The overall look and feel of the place were good, and the staff was amazing. But the look lacks freshness

We visited Jasmine Fusion as part of a business lunch. It is a quaint little restaurant hidden away in Morningside. These is a small selection of mocktails on offer as well as a small selection of great food. I had the lamb shank. It was absolutely delicious. The meat literally slid off the bone. The mash was delicately piped onto there plate. Be aware that this restaurant is touted as a fine dining establishment. The food is plated beautifully however the portions are small. Definitely not a place to visit if you are starving 😁. Portions aside the food around the table ranged from Wagyu beef to medallions to lamb shanks. There were no disparaging comments about the quality of the food.

Delicious food, beautifully presented and great staff. We tried the street food. The fries were nice, but could have been a bit crispier and some jalapeños would be great. Great quality food, nice ambiance. Could be improved with some air conditioning. The deserts looked beautiful and were delicious.

We had such an amazing date night at Jasmine Fusion. All the food was amazing and the drinks were superb. We painted sneakers and were treated to a delicious 9 course canapé dinner. The ambiance was great with smooth jazz playing. We could actually have a conversation! We will definitely be coming back and cannot wait for the next exciting activity.

What an awesome experience, making ones own custom sneekers while tasting delicious well prepared food... waiters weren't on the ball, but the food and experience made up. Have to go back for some more, well done Chef's, hats off

The food was amazing. Great presentation. The Butternut soup was out of this world. The Mo MO Taco was amazing. Really enjoyed the food. The waiter was good, but needs some work with regards to understanding the menu. Also the seating area, tables and atmosphere needs some work.

went last Tuesday very "different" & truly special to take your +1 for that special meal although I would call 1st to ask if they have all their meats as per menu! ordered a Haloumi starter very bland with no unique taste to it but well presented. Ask for a Lamb Shank NO lamb shank sir!!!!! wow. settled for a Beef rib well presented with chips but no Salad, my +1 ordered a Poke bowl with prawns, was ok but the noodles looked like Spaghetti!!! service very good by staff.

Fine dining in Sandton. Unfortunately some of the atmosphere was spoilt because there were 2 groups having a birthday celebration, and the noise echoes off the ceilings. Service was excellent. Instead of the usual bread\rolls, they serve a butternut soup appetizer which was really good. We started with a Moo Moo taco, which was bitterly disappointing. A single slice of Wagyu beef topped with Wasabi mash means with each bite you either get steak, or mash. The taco itself was a bit soft and the steak was not well seasoned. Better would be to follow the description on the menu and shred the beef into the mash, so that you get the full flavour of both (and increase the beef content a bit; at the moment it is woefully imbalanced). Mains was the Baa Baa cannoli and Golden Medallions, both of which were excellent. I only wish the medallions had a little more veggies served with it, as they really enhance the flavour of the beef. The cannoli had a piece of bone in it (but of a hazard but not a big deal I guess) The dessert menu is unclear - I had no idea what each of the desserts entailed (listing ingredients rather than what it actually is), and the waitress seemed equally confused. We ended up not ordering anything. We finished off with a cuppucino. Now to pricing. It's fine dining, but I still think it's overpriced. A mocktail at R65? Mains will set you back nothing under R200. They also serve a 440ml bottle of water whether you ask for it or not, at R24 (tap water in JHB is perfectly fine; I'm not sure if you'd be charged if you didn't drink the water). That's said, the quality and flavour of the food justifies a premium over a regular restaurant, just not to this extent. If you're willing to pay the price, it's worth visiting, no doubt.

Absolute class. The food was of top quality and taste. Presentation beyond fantastic. The service was great. The chef goes out of his way to ensure it's a personal touch to his patron. A definite visit if around Johannesburg.

Amazing food from the complimentary soup, appetizers, main and dessert were all divine. The Marrakesh lamb dish were mouth watering, the meat were so tender and tasty. The seafood curry had the perfect balance which enticed the taste buds. The setting was perfect with a beautiful view of Sandton. Good music. Excellent services.

Its a little bit hard to find the first time but it was worth the long walk thru the Marc mall. Wasnt very busy.... but ambience was pleasant. Starters prawn spirals delicious. Halloumi cheese tasty too. Lamb shank fell off the bone and melted in mouth. Langkawi prawns with risotto... surprisingly strong so not for the faint stomach'd. Food came out surprisingly quickly. Not sure if thats something to worry about or to be amazed about..... as food design was outstanding. Dinner was rounded off with decaf cappuccino and chocolate fondant.... both of which were excellent. This place is fully halaal and deserves to be busier. A lttle pricy so not the sort of place one could splash out weekly. 2 criticisms. Chairs are small and uncomfortable. Our reservation was confirmed by email exchange but nowhere on list on arrival.
