I don't know who had the brass neck to give this place a rating less than 5 star! The people are awesome, food even better, wine selection extensive, including some familiar local vintages, opportunities to discover exciting local and international wines. This is fine dining supreme in a South African context. And ohhh the bread!!!
Lovely experience, we had super super service, the food was absolutely delicious and they really made it special for us. Fine dining like this is hard to find in joburg often, would certainly recommend this.
Food was yummy. Waiters didn’t know about the signature items on the menu (could not tell me what was in the items or describe ita ingredients) and despite us being one of 2 tables inside, service was kind of slack. This is expensive, which by the quality of food I could understand but one would have hoped the service was equally as good, but it was sadly not. Lovely setting.
The food and atmosphere was worth 5 stars. It is a great place to dine.
I was very excited to celebrate my birthday at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel because it looks quite lovely online. Indeed, it is an exquisitely beautiful location, tucked away in the suburbs, and the food was exceptional👌🏾My hesitancy on giving it a 5 star was a glitch with the service. Our first waiter was good but had to end his shift before we were done spending our time there and had us settle the bill. The handover to another waiter was apparently not well done and when we finally got another waiter to serve us he was a bit unprofessional in his interaction with us. Some training is required on this aspect. A sorry hitch in an otherwise lovely day.
All our courses were well prepared and exquisitely presented. Care was taken with the detail. Portions were perfect. We had their 3 course option and we left without feeling bloated or wanting. Personnel were very attentive with a good measure of interaction. Decor makes for a well appointed venue which compliments the culinary experience. In all, it was a great experience. I would recommend Amuse Bouche if you want a sophisticated night out.
I ordered from the casual menu as I wanted to try the prawn linguini and boy I was not dissapointed! It was done just right. As always I enjoy the beautiful gardens, modern classic look of the restaurant and overall ambiance whenever I'm there. The service was extremely slow though but our waiter apologised as there was some sort of event and apparently they were short staffed. Other than that everything was 👌🏽. Definitely will be visiting again.
