Fantastic atmosphere. Love the service. So warm and welcoming. I highly recommend their lamb bunny chow plus their croissant is so delicious 😋 .Pet friendly too. Love ❤️ that.

Fun place for the kids to play. Food was good and so was the service. Fab little centre with order stores around. The Sage Bakery and cafe was undergoing some renovations therefore the menu was just the temp one.

I wanted to thank Catherine and team for the exceptional service that we received leading up to and on the day of my son’s party. Catherine was so helpful and gave me great advice on what to order. Further, Sage team accommodated us with a last minute move to Pizza area on day due to bad weather. Lastly, the food was exceptional and I received many compliments from my guests!

Sage is an awesome place. The bakery is amazing and the croissants are absolutely divine. the staff there really make you feel welcome and there is a space for the little ones to enjoy themselves while you unwind and take in the beautiful dolphin coast sunsets. Be it daily staples such as bread or something sweet Sage is the spot when you feel like taking a little time off to unwind. they also have a liquor license so the specials were also a pleasant surprise. there is also a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. it is just the bomb really. Pay them a visit. 10/10

We had a business breakfast here at Sage and enjoyed everything. The food was tops, the setting perfect and relaxed. Definitely a place you can take your family. Lots of little shops to visit and a kiddies play area. I like the tranquil setting. Will definitely be back sometime. The only thing negative was that one person out of nine waited very long for food. But it was very good at the end.

Wow, what a place!! It is rare for me to rave about a place, but this is one of those well deserved ones. My cousin dragged me off for an awesome unexpected Sunday drive to Ballito and to a great shopping center next to the Litchi syndicate and lots of window shopping and an awesome lunch at Sage Cafe where the service under Cathrine's supervision was top notch and the food great. Definitely have to go back there. One of the best things that I have seen for kids entertainment was an Art fun thing for the kids to entertain themselves with, with a post card making opportunity with glitters of all kinds and a kid friendly glue to paint/ colour in their cards and add stimulus to their minds whilst parents unwinds over some beverages and lunch. I spoke to some boys as I was so impressed by the whole scheme and the one said it was expensive and thought it cost Fifty bucks, but another corrected him and said it was only Thirty bucks. If it were my Kid, I would happily pay a hundred for that experience. Some of the pieces of art they turned out were spectacular! I did not want to scare parents by the crazy guy taking pics of the kids art or thinking I was a strange guy taking pics of kids. I shall try and add as many pics as I can. The whole reason for making the shot left was for the world famous Litchis. Sadly these were not yet available as they only start harvesting on the 17th. So frustrating to see the litchis bulging on the trees and not being able to buy any. If I was a few years younger, I would have grabbed a few bucket full and would be happy to pay the spot fine of a hundred bucks! Be sure to have the credit cards paid up when visiting this center! Lunch was great and my cousin could not finish her pizza and took half home for her daughter. It was made and garnished with yummy fresh Rocket and came with chopped chilly and garlic. See pics below. Can't wait to go back with family and friends.

Lovely place, friendly staff and pet friendly. Coffee and food took a bit long to arrive. Coffee was good, food was cold, otherwise it was great.

There are lots of venues to eat at with kids in Ballito .. this is definitely one of my all time favourites. The food and selection of courses is really good, and the kids have a great play area that will keep them busy for hours. The owners are friendly and very accommodating, highly recommended.

Great place for a quick bite and coffee. They have a good selection of baked goods and the croissants are melt in your mouth kinda good. They do offer almond milk if you have allergies. The location is superb and is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle with a few other stores nearby. It is charming and gauche.

Star service, lekker in-house draught, awesome chilled vibes and some of the best lunch meals you can order. Definitely take a drive to Sage Cafe ☮️

My family and I have been coming to Sage Cafe since 2016. We have seen it transferred to a couple of owners over the years but Vee and her team are doing an outstanding job. Thank you guys. keep up the great work.

Great venue situated on the dolphin coast. Service is good as well as the food selection. I had eggs Benedict which was well presented but I feel that some of the prices may need reviewing because no where should a lemon poppyseed muffin cost R65.00. All in all I will definitely be back.

I went to visit this venue with my wife and daugter. I would suggest to any one I know Friendly and attending staff very calm but respectful atmosphere we even had a visit from the owner of sage which made us feel welcomed and special. A wonderful place to go with my toddler. Food was great with big portions and the peanut butter banana milkshake is my favourite. Got my little one Mac & cheese which he loved. There is a really nice play area for kids with jungle gyms, swings a sandpit but we specifically went for the scratch patch. Kept my 19 month old entertained for nearly an hour and he was upset we had to leave. Will definitely have to go back for a lunch soon.

What a lovely place to visit...the staff are very attentive and the manager and owner both came to check on us...we will definitely be back for another delicious huge sandwich from Sage.

Love it here! The playground is great for kids and I love having a mosey in the shops too!

I love coming to Sage and have always enjoyed the food and ambiance. This time we had family from Germany. It was embarrassing and disappointing. Admittedly we were late having collected our guests from the Airport. We subsequently found out the kitchen was about to close, but were not informed on arrival.
The drinks took a good 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. One of the dishes ordered was not available (pulled pork). I ordered the chicken Buddha bowl. It was largely inedible. The rice was dry as were the carrots. The chicken was dry and overcooked so it was difficult to cut. The beetroot tasted as if it came from a tin. The greens were mushy and tasted strange.
My cousin had the bowl with falafel and hummus. Her comment was that she had tasted better. The waiter must have so e in and out about 5 times, checking and rechecking, and telling us dishes were not available . Not confidence inspiring. All in all hugely disappointing and embarrassing.

Good setting, good service by polite staff. Reasonable prices, good breakfast choices. Food was good too
Nice for families with kids. Just ten minutes from ballito on highway.
Will certainly go back

What an amazing little cafe in Ballito on the litchi orchard. Good prices for good food. Very fresh and the staff are friendly. My sister and I had taken my mother for mother's day breakfast. They gave us complementary cupcakes ,I could still smell the chocolate now Sooo rich . I went got a veg option, cheese tomato and basil pesto. It's a simple sandwich but taste amazing.

My friend hosted a Birthday lunch here, beautiful ambience I will definitely go back. The service was good, parking was safe and adequate. A wide variety on the menu-something for everyone

We decided to try something different on our holiday but the service really left a bad taste in our mouth. There was no salmon so my husband and I had to order something else and the service was really slow and poor. Food was average.

The only reason they received one and a half stars is because it has a nice location surrounded by pretty shops.
The service was terrible. We booked a table for 12:30 and then had to still wait 40min in order to be seated. Once we finally got our table it still had all the previous customers plates and drinks on it. The table was cleared but not wiped properly. Once we ordered our food it then took a further hour to come after numerous requests. It was ice cold, had little flavour and was swimming in oil. The portions are dismal. This is not the Sage restaurant from three years ago. A most disappointing experience.

Had a lovely experience with lunch, returned for breakfast and had horrible service, cold food, only saw our waiter twice and despite not having touched my sage omelette, no one came to enquire. Had to eventually get up to find a manager and pay the bill.
The new layout and playground at Sage is fantastic! Especially the playground. Unfortunately the food took really long to arrive. I had a tasty spinach, bacon, avo and feta pizza - it was good and I was seriously hungry by the time it came. My son had a great looking burger - the fries were a bit pitiful looking though - small portion and not crispy. Hubby had a tasty chicken dish and the coffee was tasty. If the service improves and speed of the kitchen it would make for a good experience. The winner is the playground.

Greatly improved spot, with kids play area and cool little craft and decor shops. The food and service hit the mark. Great for a family lunch..

Food: 2.5
Ambiance: 3
Service: 3

Really nice Sunday outing. A variety of vegetarian options which is nice. Try the Roma bagel and mushroom on toast.

Very nice spot there lamb wrap is proper food and it's extremely large that myself and and my wife shared it
They don't sell beer but I see people were ordering from the other restaurant and brining it over so it's quite a nice thing they offer
The kiddies play area is very nice indeed, not modern by any standards but nice for them to play
Overall nice place to go try
Well done team Sage 🤘

Fun and casual dining that is family friendly. I'd recommend the pizzas that come out of an authentic pizza oven. Also sometimes has live music. Food is overall lovely but service can be a bit slow.

More staff than patrons. We came here due to a bold statement made in Balito magazine stating that it's the best cappuccino in town.... Which was surely not the case. I inquired about the Sage Eggs Benadict if the eggs is in fact poaches in water. The waiter confirmed that it was. When the plate arrived it was poached in a cup. I was very disappointed. The taste profile cannot be compared between the two styles of poaching. The omelettes looked like a yellowish rubber mat. Very poor showing indeed! Won't recommend and won't be back.

Came to Sage cafe for breakfast with friends. Must say none of us was impressed. The staff seemed unorganized and when asked questioned about the meals they didn't know. The omelette was rubbery and tasteless. The poached eggs was made with the moulds. Expected a place like this would do poached eggs properly. Won't be back.

The Sage Cafe in Ballito!!

I had gone there on a Christmas day, its a beautiful restaurant with a garden finish around you, its a good place for children to play to.

The food was really good, My family and I had ordered a veg pizza and a portion of chips which was really tasty.

Fresh delicious food! Pizzas have nice crispy bases and a great selection. Lots of play area for the kids and they are constantly entertained. Really recommend it 👍🏻

We were there for lunch last week. What an amazing setting. Very lush and peaceful country setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. I had the Thai Chicken Stack which was scrumptious, and my friend had the Quesadillas, which he's had before, and really enjoyed them. Although the portions look small, once deconstructed, there was a lot of food on my plate, enough for a takeaway! I would highly recommend Sage for a quiet and relaxed lunch during the week. I'm pretty sure they must be hectically busy on weekends and during the holiday seasons. A very pleasant experience all round.

Awesome food beautiful setting. The mezze platter was to die for and the Thai stacked chicked just divine!!! Charming staff and good value for money.

A few friends and I went to sage for a late lunch, early dinner. The hustle and bustle of background chatter and live music set the scene to a great time. The food was lovely, the service was slower than one would hope, but the atmosphere was great.Such a yummy place
Nam-Jai House Asian-Fusion
We enjoyed our lunch. Fresh ingredients. Service was good and it was very busy. Pizza's are different from the usual. Can really recommend it and chocolate brownies are to die for

Oh no!!!!! What's happened here????We used to go to Sage Cafe quite often when we came to Salt Rock. It was always packed. Always full of happy diners. Food was always of amazing quality, big portions, reasonable prices, and just great atmosphere. It was an absolute feature of the North Coast. But now it's under new management, and they've screwed it up royally. The food is still superb (for now) but the service has deteriorated sharply. Management is nowhere to be seen at all and it takes forever to get your food to you. No wonder they are so empty nowadays.Might I suggest that management either sell it to people who know what they're doing or jack up their acts big time? Because otherwise a place that was always so iconic will be lost.

The food was ok , nothing spectacular , the kitchen seemed overwhelmed due to the holiday period
The ambience was excellent, love the greenery, the entire place is a treat for your eyes

A lovely little spot with a stunning, lush and open setting. Friendly staff and "safe" breakfast options. The Eggs Florentine Benedict was delicious and the coffee superb (and being a coffee lover, I was pleasantly surprised)! The dessert menu looked amazing...I'll definitely be back to try some! All-in-all a good experience :)

Food is fantastic with a very comprehensive menu and lots of choices. Coffee was delicious, good barrista. Service is PATHETIC with no one really interested and management not coming to check on the meal.

Awesome kid friendly restaurant. Large selection of foods prepared with fresh ingredients. Little shops to browse while waiting for your food, as well as a large kids play area, sand art and toy shop. Must book for weekend lunches and lovely to sit in the balcony or under the trees.

I love sage - I have never once been disappointed by their food. The only disappointment I've had is them being full - so book !! It's a great place for lunch and I recommend the aunergine balls, they are fabulous

Definitely one of our family family hangouts. Loads to do for the kids and so much choice on the menu. The breakfasts are pretty good but the pizzas take first place. But wait till you've tasted the aubergine fritters... To die for ?
Kid friendly. Lovely outdoor vibe. Choc hazelnut cheese cake ?
Mezze platter options are delicious. My friends loved their pasta. Kids enjoyed the pizza. A lovely weekend spot away from the city.

The perfect place for a weekend lunch.
Surrounded by a few craft shops and with amazing facilities to keep the kids entertained while the adults can enjoy a glass of good wine a great food.
The pizzas here are great but so are the pastas. Definitely try the horlicks, honey and banana milkshake as well as the carrot cake. Both are absolutely brilliant.
Give sage a try for an outing for the whole family.
